Was very useful for what I was doing, and I enjoyed the reading.

I picked this book out on a whim, and boy am I glad I did! I was instantly emerged in the world of Kama Kameez. The author did a knock-out job creating a world so close to reality and yet...so far. I recommend this book to anyone who wants a good read! Go for it, you won't regret it.

There have been many biographies written on John Wesley. I believe I am correct in saying that this one by Luke Tyerman is considered one of the best, a classic. My own copy is the sixth edition three volume set (total of 1857 pages) published by Hodder & Stoughton of London in 1890. Tyerman's approach is to cover Wesley's long life of ministry year by year chronologically. Tyerman is an admirer of Wesley and biased in his favor, but does occasionally comment upon points where he takes some issue with Wesley. Perhaps the strength of the biography is Tyerman's exhaustive knowledge of not only Wesley's life, but also of the history and various personalities of early Methodism and Methodists of Great Britain. Thus, there is much anecdotal and supporting information of not only Wesley personally, but of his associates in the early Methodist movement.

I was first introduced to Jackson's work while getting my M.A. in Elementary Education at New York Univeristy. After my first exposure to sections of this book, I went out and bought it. Life In Classrooms focuses on the aspects of school that are not given enough attention in education theory and debates. This book provides anaylsis of the 'everyday' curriculum. The most important concepts expounded upon are the fuctions and repercussions of crowds, praise and power that seem inherent in every school system in America. This is a brilliant book!

This authentic literature is a great addition to this ESL series. This entire series is wonderful. With new migrant students entering my district everyday, I have a population of students with diverse needs. This series includes lessons in Reading, Writing, Listening, and Speaking as well as relates all to real life experiences and other content areas. As well, real, authentic literature is included in almost each new thematic unit.

You'll have to hunt for this book since it's out of print, but it's definitely worth looking for. The action never stops, the characters are well-defined, and it's one of the best in the Lone Star series.

I have three different pocket-size dictionaries written for Learner's of English as a second language. Oxford, Webster and Longman. This one has the easiest to understand explanation of the words in comparison with other ones. I have two of this edition. I keep one in my office and one at home.

I'm an English as a foreign language teacher from the UK. This is an excellent dictionary for intermediate and advanced learners of English.

The definitions are clear and the example are useful. I think it would help learners, if they included questions with the idioms in them. I always include questions in my free English vocabulary email lessons for busy non-native speakers who have studied English for several years. I think questions are very useful to help deepen the learners understanding of the meaning.

It's really easy to find idioms by just looking up key words in the idiom you are trying to understand.

There's a really good section called the "Idiom Activator". It helps you find idioms by concepts. Unfortunately, it only has ten concept areas. It would be really useful if they expanded that section.

But overall I would strongly recommend this dictionary for intermediate and advanced learners.
