Fires are being set off in the library
Mary Anne volunteers to work at the Readathon (a contest for the little kids to read books for prizes and to get new books for the library) and then fires start being set off! Mary Anne and the rest of the members of the Baby-sitters Club decide to catch the person setting them off! Not only the BSC but Nicky Pike, BSC member Mallory Pike's brother, is helping too because some matches were found in his jacket pocket and he didn't put them there. So who would set fire to some books and why? Is it the protestors who want to ban some of the books? Is it one of the kids that doesn't want to be in the Readathon? Is it actually Nicky? You have to read the book to find out! I rated it 5 stars because it was well written and pretty fun to read. You probably won't guess who's setting off fires...but you will like the ending!

Bravo, Mary Anne!
I just love Mary Anne & her endearing sensitivity & her incredible courage! She's such a lovely person with a strong character! It was a cute, funny opening scene where Mary Anne is feeling depressed & to lift her blues, watches a sad movie & cries & cries. Trouble is, she doesn't feel much better & goes to the BSC meeting with red, swollen eyes. Then when the readathon is announced, I liked how Mary Anne got involved & THAT lifted her sadness. I liked how, even though she was missing Dawn & Logan, she didn't sit around feeling sorry for herself. Wow, those parts where the fires were happening were scary for her. Poor Mary Anne has terrible nightmares! The nightmares get worse, considering that Mary Anne is anxious & nightmare-prone. Boy, were Mary Anne & Kristy heroes when they finally caught the firebug! The ending was cute & touching when the librarians are giving awards to the kids, Nicky whistles when Mary Anne is recognized & Mary Anne blushes a bright red! & to top it all off, she ends up blubbering in front of everyone! It's endearing how she cries so easily. I love how the girls in the BSC solve their own mysteries & problems unlike many of the girls from the former Fabulous Five series who wait around for their boyfriends to be the heroes. There needs to be more books about girls as heroes.

This Book Rocks!
Mary Anne and the Library Mystery is very good book. Because I love books so much, it's nice to read about books from a good book! I love this! I haven't even readed it yet, and I still can say it's good. I'm excited to know who is the firebug. Because, here's what has happened. Mary Anne is having a terrible blues, because her best friend Dawn has left Stoneybrook and is now in California. Her boyfriend belongs to the volleyball team and now it's in somewhere - I don't know, but not in Stoneybrook. And one of Mary Anne's friends is having mono. But when Mary Anne gets job from Stoneybrook Library, her blues is away. But things aren't alright. Somebody is setting fires all over the library! Who would want to burn down all the book? And the library is fulled of children! Mary Anne and her friends understand that this is serious thing and they have to solve this mystery, before it's too late!

This is my Favorite Book!
This book was one of my favorite books when I was in Elementry school. It was like someone was reading my mind and putting it all in a book. It's about a girl named Wendy, who's sister (Katie) is good at almost everything. When Wendy finally desides to take up horse riding lessons, her siser does too! Read the book to find out what happens!
********** stars

This was my favorite book when I was in Elementary school
Yes my name is Katie. I remember always checking this book out at the school library. It's so much fun. The story truly keeps kids interested. It has good lessons on sisterhood. Because I know that to my sister I was probably a pest at times too. I think it's best for kids about seven years old to eleven years old. It's about a girl named Wendy, whose little sister is perfect in everything. She can play the piano and pretty much do everything else. Wendy starts to feel a bit jealous and less than katie. Wendy decides to try something new, so she can get soem credit for something. Of course Katie doesn't make it easy. I don't want to ruin it for you, so I recommend you read it too.

Way to go, Ann M. Martin!
Before reading Me and Katie (the pest), I read Stage Fright, which is the book that comes before it. I liked both books a lot, but especially Me and Katie (the Pest). Ann M. Martin kept me interested and the book was very realistic. I know, because I have a sister, too. It reminded me of two of her other books: Ten Kids, No Pets, and its sequel, Eleven Kids, One Summer. I am nine years old.

Excellent!
In the secret life of Mary Anne Spier sh spends so much on her father's credit card. Mr.Spier told Mary Anne that she would even have to pay interest just like he does.Mary Anne takes a job at the mall and meets this girl Angela and their family helped Angela by inviting them to stay for Christmas.

Cute holidays tale of GIVING
I liked it! Mary Anne's kind, tender heart gets her into trouble, but I admire how she takes responsibility for her mistake and willingly takes the elf job to pay for it! Also touching is how Mary Anne feels so sorry for Angela, the homeless girl, that she cries quietly under her elf head. Her tender heart is endearing; and her strong sense of responsibility is to be commended. It's hilarious how she goes to extremes to hide her secret job from her friends and boyfriend because she's so easily embarrassed!

The spirit of giving can be a really bad thing
Mary Anne gets to use her father's credit card to do her Christmas shopping! But she goes overboard buying her family and friends. And when her father tells her she has to pay interest to the credit card bill she gets a little worried so she adds the prices of the gift and it turns out she spent 3 TIMES the money she saves. So she has to earn a ton of money in only 2 WEEKS. She baby-sits and then she does something a tiny bit extreme.

I loved Mallory and the Mystery Diary!
Mallory and the Mystery Diary is about Mallory and Stacy thinking there is a ghost in Stacy's new house. They find old portriats and a big old-fanshioned trunck. They find out a rich family lived here in the 1800's. Mallory gets to keep the truck. Her brothers finally open it (she has brothers that are triplets!), and finds fine, old clothing and a diary with a stack of papers. She reads the diary and finds a mystery that needs to be cleared. Finally she reads the stacks of paper and it was admitted. This is the best book! I loved the book!

I loved Kristy and the secret of Susan.
Please put this book on video so I can buy it. The only thing is that you didn't say if she changed or not at the end. Please try to get Ann M. Martin's signiture and give it to me!

Karen the Spy!
I read this book when I was 8 and it was funny. Karen and her brother Andrew goes to their dad's house for the New Year and everyone plans to make resolutions. Karen makes the most of all; she made 9 resolutions and plans to keep them all. Even her 2 best friends makes some. Finally everyone at the Big House breaks their resolutions and Karen is mad. So she spys on her family and friends and writes down their broken promises. Karen was such a hypocrite. She broke some of her resolutions. Like the time she chewed bubble gum when she promised not to eat sweets. She crossed out the word sweets and wrote in candy instead on her list. She did that so she could look good by keeping her resolutions. Finally Karen read her spy notebook at the dinnertable and everyone is mad at her. She gets in trouble. Then her friends and family start spying on her. I liked the part when her mother told Karen about her broken resolutions and her changed list. Karen learned a big lesson about spying and tattling.

Great for New Year's!
This book is great for readers of all ages! When Karen learns about New Year Resolutions, she makes nine, in hopes of keeping every one. She also makes her entire "Big House" Family and friends make resolutions. To make sure her family is keeping their promises, she spies. To her surprise, and disappointment, nobody is keeping their resolution! By the end of the book, Karen is in more trouble than she had wanted, and her friends and family start spying on her, to find out whether or not SHE had been keeping her resolutions!

This book is so Great!
This book is nice. Claudia gets a job to watch the grandson of Grandmother Madden.People have said that Grandmother Madden has destroyed all her paintings.Claudia thinks that no artist will destroy his/her painting and she has only a little clues to solve the mystery

Good, but not great
This was one of the better mysteries. Claudia gets a job helping the granddaughter of Grandmother Madden prepare to sell the house. Claudia notices that some of the paintings disappear, and some weird art dealers are yhanging around. Also Grandmother Madden supposedly dystroyed most of her work. But Claudia doesn't think so. She thinks there still around. And the only clue she has is a mysterious Japanese woman painting

This book is one of my favorite mysterys
In this book Cluadia finds out about a baking contest and enters it with Mary Ann and Sean. Mary Ann thinks they can win it by finding a cake her mother used to make for her father so she's searching all over. Soon someone is ruining the contest. To find out the rest of the book read this five star mystery

This is a good book.
I rate "Claudia and the Recipe for Danger" a 9 because it was an okay book. The plot was good. I can't believe Grace Blume thought Claudia was doing all that sabotage! Don't worry, Claudia wasn't doing it. I recommend this book to fellow BSC fans.

Claudia's Freind Friend (Baby-Sitters Club, 63)

Realistic...
The book was great in the sense that Claudia wasn't the 'perfect' teen girl who had everything. Unlike her sister Janine, Claudia isn't a superbrain she doesn't have the ability to solve Math problems straightaway. She's just a regular teen girl who has problems at school and prefers to veg out and do her own thing.

Unfortunately, Claudia encounters some problems and having asked her sister superbrain Janine for help, she still doesn't understand the problem. Jnaine basically gives her the answers - but, that's not what teaching and learning is about. Claudia NEEDS to understand the whole process of solving the Math problems.

Anyways, her best friend Stacey decides to help her out but, Stacey starts to patronise Claudia like she's some kind of idiot. To add to this, Claudia starts writing two diaries - one is her own personal diary and the other is about her Math problems and her progress. Stacey asks to look at the Math diary and Claudia gives her the wrong one by mistake. Stacey finds out that Claudia is less than appreciative of her help (Claudia writes that Stacey is acting like a 'pill')

Claudia feels that she is alone with her problems - she thinks that no-one else understand how much difficulty she has with school work. Luckily, Claudia is not alone - Shea Rodowsky; one of the sitting charges is also having difficulty at school. He has dyslexia and encounters the same problems as Claudia has. Between them, they both help each other out, and as a result they form a close friendship.

A touching BSC book - two thumbs up!

the best book ever
this was the best book baby sitters club book ever. It was funny sad and a bit wierd and it helped my frisnd learn she is not the only one that has a school problem so thanks Ann.Well now that I have this book to keep I will read it over and over and over again Although I feel really sorry for Shea and claudia I hope they get stuck into their work.So thanks Ann
