TINA'S BOOK REPORT
Karen's Kitty cat club was a great story written by ANN M.MARTIN. This fiction story was a fascinating book. I give it five stars out of five.

The author told me about a kitty cat club. The story explained the rules in running a cat sitters club.

In the kitty cat club Karen wants to be the vice -president. She thinks she should because she came up with the idea for the club. Amanda has a cat named Priscilla and is Karens friend. Hannie is Karens best friend and she likes cats but never owned one. Then one day she decided to get a cat and she named it Pat.

Karens, Hannie, and Amanda now have a kitty cat club. They have meetings on Saturday afternoons. They bring their cats to Karen's house and discuss if anyone got a phone call from someone that wanted a cat sitter.

This story was interesting because there were lots of surprising parts in the story. I thought the kitty cat club would get a lot of customers but it didn't work out that way.

This story was well written because it was easy to understand. It was a fun topic and I recommend this book to those who like animals and who enjoy being part of a club. I think other kids would enjoy reading this book because it kept my attention and interest.

it's for all ages
this book is for people who like cats!

Every church library needs this.
A recent survey found that the death of a pet is one of the times when children most want to talk to clergy---rivalled only by divorce. This book asks some difficult questions (what is the church? how do we deal with death?) and offers, in return, God's love. Churches which celebrate the Feast of St. Francis could have someone read it out loud after the service and lead a discussion. This lovely story will appeal to all ages.

A great book for animal lovers
This book is wonderful for anyone who's ever had and loved a cat. It does deal with death, and is very sad at the end. A great way to help a child deal with the death of a pet.

We laughed, we cried, we loved Leo.
My Grade three class thoroughly enjoyed the story of Leo. We were doing a unit on cats and Leo's story was one of the highlights. An excellent book.

Beware, Dawn! (Baby-Sitters Club Mystery, 2)

A Great Book To Read At Night!
Beware, Dawn is one of the best mysteries I have ever read! It's about a girl named Dawn, who starts to get weird phone calls and creepy letters during a contest for the Best Baby-Sitter, so she doesn't want to tell anyone one about it. Soon, she figures out that every other Baby-Sitter is getting the same creepy calls & letters, except for Kristy, but the ending is still a great surprise. You really should read this book at night because it sends chills down your spine and makes you afraid that someone might be at your door!

I thought it was terrific
The book is about a person who threads Dawn but should she tell the other members or not?

Great!
At Stoneybrook Elementary there is a Sitter-of-the-Month contest. Dawn wants to be the best sitter of course and soon she gets threatening notes from a mysterious Mr.X Then all kinds of freaky stuff starts happening to all the Baby-sitters. What will happen next? Read it to find out.

Liked it, but...
I liked this book. BUT I would like to say, to ANYONE, that Ann has no idea about Aus. I have never in my life heard anyone say "Bonza Sheila" or "laid one on" so, if you read a BSC book about Aus, we are not the cave people they make us seem.

One of my favorite Baby Sitters Books.
Along with "Stacey and the Bad Girls," this is perhaps my favorite BSC book. I must say I still love this series even though it is old now and many of the books are hard to find-in new copies, anyway. Farewell, Dawn is sad, but somehow I like sad books. The cover is cool. (I love Dawn's outfit!) Dawn is one of my favorite (if not my actual favorite) baby sitter(s). She is very excellent (very excellent? does that sound right? I like to say it anyway.)...She was one of the best characters in the whole series...

Sad but wonderful
I love Dawn and this book.Dawn has been missing california more than ever.Especially now that her best friend,Sunny in California needs her.Dawn must face the facts, while she loves Connecticut, her heart is telling her to return to California permanently. But it sure isn't easy.It is tough to hear her friends talk about replacing her in the BSC.Even worse,Dawn can't figure out how to break the news to Mary Anne. How can she tell her best friend and stepsister that she wants to leave, forever?

"Stacey's Broken Heart"
"Stacey's Broken Heart" is a book that focuses on Stacey, the treasurer of the Baby-sitters Club. She will be gone for a week and is confused about her boyfriend, Robert. She thinks she might be afraid of loosing him.

Ohhh...kind of sad, but necessary...
Poor Stacey! Robert broke her heart. I liked how it showed that even though Stacey's heart is broken, she goes on with her life. I liked how supportive her mom was. It tells you that, no, not all romances are "happily ever after"...only a tiny percent of teen romances last a lifetime. I have the feeling Mary Anne and Logan are next in line for splitsville...just a gut feeling.

I like it as much as I like Claudia and the Terrible Truth
The book was good and thick and suspenseful. It was a well-written and enjoyable book. I can't really decide if my favorite book is Stacey's Broken Heart or Claudia and the Terrible Truth. They're both good stories but Claudia and the Terrible Truth is too short.

It is VERY interesting.
In Karen's Witch she thinks that her neighbor is a witch. She thinks up wierd things that she thinks her neighbor does. She tries to get in her neighbor's house. She gets in trouble for going in her neighbor's house.

First Book in the Baby-sitters Little Sister Series
Since the beginning of The Baby-sitters Club series, six-year-old Karen Brewer has always been afraid of her next-door neighbor, Mrs. Porter, who she calls Morbidda Destiny. She believes the old woman is an evil witch who flies around on her broom at night and casts spells on everyone. During her weekend stay with her father, Karen vows to expose the witch, even though she's forbidden to spy on the neighbors, especially Morbidda. Of course, Karen doesn't obey rules, which consequently allows her to overhear Morbidda discussing an upcoming witch meeting with her black cat, Midnight. With the help of her best friend (Hannie Papadakis), Karen sets out to sabotage the meeting and save Stoneybrook from a coven of witches.

"Karen's Witch" is the first book in the Baby-sitters Little Sister series, a spin-off of The Baby-sitters Club series. These books are geared more for younger readers (age 7 - 9) and follows one imaginative little girl, Karen Brewer, Kristy Thomas's younger stepsister.

There's a witch in the neighborhood!
Karen gets carried away sometimes. In this book, Karen thinks that her next door neighbor is a witch. If you read it, you will feel the same way. I would give it five stars.

find a new cover girl!
I am very happy with the Friends Forever books because they are more realistic than the old BSC. I have one complaint though. I am Japanese-American and I don't think the girl who is on the covers as Claudia is. I would guess she is Phillipina. It drives me crazy when people think all Asian-American people are interchangeable, like we won't notice. There *are* differences in the appearances of Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Phillipinas, etc., if only you would stop to look.

A VERY Surprising Twist of Fate
Claudia has the chance to get her guy and making up with herBFF, Stacey! But,while on her way to getting her man, somethingunexpected happen. Claudia wrote a letter for Jeremy meaning on "More than Friends", and slipped into Jeremy's locker, but it turns out it wasn't his locker! And the guy who reads it falls for Claudia! This incident brought Stacey and Claudia together as friends again, Jeremy left behind, and Kristy Very disgusted! I won't tell you who the mystery guy was, only let you read it and be surprised, but I will tell you two more things, Claudia realizes Jeremy wasn't the guy of her dreams, but her "mystery guy" maybe is what her heart is really for......

This series rules!
I love this new series so much! I've got reviews up on some others in this series, and I speak the truth in all of them. I have read the original BSC books for so long. I am glad for this change. Ms. Martin, kudos to you for making this series much MUCH more realistic than the original BSC series! I'm glad that the time between books is reasonable, and I'm really hoping that the girls will go on to high school when they finish this eighth grade year. After all, they've only been in the eighth grade since book TEN of the original series! I think that's a little long! They've had a million summer vacations, and now, everything that they recall from eighth grade, well, you get the picture. Keep up the good work, Ann!

Dawn and Whitney, Friends Forever

Dawn and Whitney, Friends Forever
I found this book so refreshing. Very rarely do you see books with a main character with a disability. Whitney is portrayed as a normal girl, even though she has a disability, and that is how it really is. So many books portray those with disabilities as weird, but Whitney is lovable and sweet. An A++ book.

Two Different People
Well the book Dawn and Whitney, friends forever, was a good book because it talks about two different girls, and two whole different lifestyles. Whitney has a desease, can Dawn be her friend without telling her shes her babysitter? Well I liked this book because its about friendship and I think friendship is a very important thing to me.

It's Good to See a Good Story About a Challenged Character
It is refreshing and wonderful to see a tastefully, believable story about a person with Down Syndrome. Ann Martin has a gift for creating realistic dialogues and characters. Her real talents lie in voice, placing, character development, plot and parallel plots. I like the way the babysitting charges often have a similar or parallel issue that their sitters face.

I never did like Dawn, though. I think she is a big mouth with no common sense. She blurts out to Whitney that she is Whitney's sitter and can't allow the girl to overindulge in eating sweets. Naturally Whitney is hurt to think that she has to have a hired sitter. It is a blow to her pride and is proof positive that Dawn is inconsiderate and has a big mouth.

After three weeks is up of dancing at the acadamy she given a chance to dance there permanently now she has two choices stay with her friends or follow her dream.

Whoa--awesome!
In here, Jessi Ramsey, an eleven year old fantastic ballerina, is offered the chance for a two-week class in New York--a dancing class! Go Jessi! And it's away from school! So Jessi is psyched and all her friends in the Babysitters' Club will miss her but they are excited for her as well. When she gets to the city, she is reunited with an old friend and makes new ones, plus she's staying with her cousin and his wife. They're very nice to her. She also likes it that they're artists and her cousin's wife plays the piano! New York City is very exciting but everyone's waiting for Jessi at home--right? Plus Jessi wants to go back--right?

Wrong. Jessi is accepted to be in the full-time program for the experts and has a very tough choice to make: her #1 goal or her friends and family back in Stoneybrook, Connecticut? What will she decide to do?

Welcome Back Jessi!!!!
This is the first book about Jessi since book #103 Happy Holidays, Jessi. It was really good though. Jessi gets accepted into Dance New York, a excellant ballet school. She gets to work with one of her heroes, is reunited with Quint, and makes great new friends! Jessi love living in the city and has a hard time coming back. Meanwhile at home Mallory misses Jessi like crazy! Becca is furious at Jessi for leaving her. This book really tells you that home is where the heart is. I loved this book and I hope you do to! :)

Great book for young horse crazy girls
When I was younger (when the book first came out) I couldn't read this enough times! All of Ann M Martin's books have been a joy to read. I have obviously outgrown the Little Sister series, but I've read some of her other books as well. At the time I read it, I just loved it. I'd reccomend for younger girls, 8 and under.

great book for little kids.
I was 10 when I read this. It is a great way to teach kids about the aspects of caring for a horse in a fun way. It also teaches the value of friendship. p.s I'm not really 12 I'm fourteen but I can't use the adult's form.

Very Good Book
I just like this book because Karen and her friends Hannie and Nancy go to Pony Camp. And her pony Bluebell is going to camp. The other campers tease she and her friends, their names are Casey and Mary Grace.
