In Baby-Sitters Island Adventure, Dawn and Claudia have been taking sailing lessons for a while. When their instructors tell them they can sail without any counselors after a tied sailing race, Claudia and Dawn decide to race again for a rematch. But then, they decide to take some of the kids they baby-sit for (Becca Ramsey--Jessi's nine-year-old sister; nine-year-old Haley Braddock; four-year-old Jamie Newton, and Dawn's ten-year-old brother, Jeff), and just race from Stoneybrook to an island close by called Greenpoint Island and then have a picnic and come right back.
On the day of the race, the sky looks bright and clear. But while they are out in the water racing, there is a freak thunderstorm which makes Dawn's boat flood! The sailboats they are using are too small for all six of them but manage to make it to a small unknown island far off course. Now the other baby-sitters and the town of Stoneybrook are worried: How long can two teens with four young children last? But the real question is...did they all survive? And if they did, where ARE they?
In this thrilling novel you will learn all about learning how to survive while you are alone on an island (okay...so maybe not. But it's still a great read, especially for a boring summer day!). Ann M. Martin has done it again! Must read for all Baby-Sitters fans.

reading the responces of the studens. I liked Alen Grey's interview inparticular. It was nice to see another side of him. After all, a sence of humor is a great thing, but it's nice to know that there's...more, to Alan.
All in all, Stacey's movie is a peice that I would certenly recommend.
In this story, Stacey's school has a series of "short takes" classes. Professionals offer to teach a class in their area of expertise for part of a marking period. Movie making was one such class and Stacey eagerly agreed to participate in that one. She is grouped with a compatible bunch of kids and, armed with camera and notebooks, learn a lot about how their class mates really feel. My favorite parts were Claudia's confession about her strong distate for school and Emily Black, the school editor's adept dodging of any discussion of herself. Turning the question around to the asker is a very effective dodge and I loved that part. I also liked seeing a more mature version of Mary-Anne.
This one is one that I think most readers will enjoy. Ms. Martin is truly gifted in creating something with a lot of staying power.

13! This book tells their exiting stories about a summer they spent on an island of the coast of NY. Every kid has their own chapter telling about their own most exiting part of the summer. Like, when they meet a movie star shooting a movie on the island. Or when they heard a spooky story from a fisherman and find the truth about it. I recamend this book to people who like exiting humarus books!

*Even worse,Mimi, their beloved grandmother, has come to the end of her days.It is typical of a BSC member to be a selfish creep which is exactly what Claudia is when ,oh dear ,the poor little diddums is forced to carry magazines and stuff to old Mimi while Mimi is sick.Really.You wouldn't think it would be such an awful hassle after Mimi's years of "special tea" and chats and cooking. But as I said what more can one expect from one of these girls??
*This is a very well-written book and Mimi's sickness was handled realistically.
*Young readers should probably know it isn't a happy book.It deals with the reality of growing old and weak and dying.IN A WAY,learning of old-age death can be more saddening than knowing of young death, because when a young person dies(it's actually a sadder thing to happen but..)you can feel like it was a fluke and you know it probably won't happen to you but the death of old people reminds us that every one of us will fall off the perch. So in that way it is a harder thing to read about than ,like, if I read SVH about Olivia dying and all I'd have to think is oh she was crushed by a fridge, that's a tragedy, but what are the odds..??...I am so raving on.Bye.
