claudia,claudia,claudia
Claudia and her older, incredibly intelligent sis Janine, still find it hard to understand each other. But Janine was never actually very mean.
*Even worse,Mimi, their beloved grandmother, has come to the end of her days.It is typical of a BSC member to be a selfish creep which is exactly what Claudia is when ,oh dear ,the poor little diddums is forced to carry magazines and stuff to old Mimi while Mimi is sick.Really.You wouldn't think it would be such an awful hassle after Mimi's years of "special tea" and chats and cooking. But as I said what more can one expect from one of these girls??
*This is a very well-written book and Mimi's sickness was handled realistically.
*Young readers should probably know it isn't a happy book.It deals with the reality of growing old and weak and dying.IN A WAY,learning of old-age death can be more saddening than knowing of young death, because when a young person dies(it's actually a sadder thing to happen but..)you can feel like it was a fluke and you know it probably won't happen to you but the death of old people reminds us that every one of us will fall off the perch. So in that way it is a harder thing to read about than ,like, if I read SVH about Olivia dying and all I'd have to think is oh she was crushed by a fridge, that's a tragedy, but what are the odds..??...I am so raving on.Bye.

This book is great for kids and teens.
I think that this book (Claudia and Mean Janine)is a wonderful book for ages 10 to 16 because it helps kids cope with "mean"siblings and/or friends and family with illnesses.

Wonderful Lituratre For Children Must Read

Miss Martin creates a cool one and a brainy one which must make a the BEGINING - MIDDLE & ENDING of this book exiting. A must read for anyone young or old

This is a cool book!
I really enjoyed this book because it is about a real life thing.Chain letters.I think the BSC is an awesome series and that Ann M. Martin should keep up the good work!

BSC Chain letter
It all started with Kristy's cousin Robin. Kristy is in the hospital when she gets a letter from Robin. It is a chain letter but not just any chain letter... a chain letter of secrets. You sent one letter to someone telling them a secret you have never told anyone. Jessi and Mal are in Sea City, Dawn and Mary-Anne are in California, Stacey and Claudia are in New York, Logan is in Kentucky, and I think Shannon is at camp. Meanwhile, Jessi is planning a welcome home party for Kristy when they are all back in Stoneybrook. It is fun to open the envolopes. I loved this book!

So cool! :) ;)
This book was really cool. I especially liked the idea of opening all the envelopes and reading the letters which were actually written, not a computer-kid-handwriting font. The point of the chain letters was to tell a big secret to somebody in a letter (no duh) and within 2 days. I enjoyed reading all the secrets (especially Dawn's-that was cool) and just the rest of the letters. It's a good book.

Stacey McGill Matchmaker (Baby-Sitters Club, 124)

Not really that good.
I don't really like this book because Stacey didn't matchmake---her mother and John (the guy who Stace thinks is perfect for her mom) did all the work. But I was amused by the way Joni tried to ruin her father and Stacey's mother's relationship. I can't wait to read The All-New Mallory Pike. She is a really crucial character and I'll miss her because we're a lot alike. I think it's also about time Jessi got another book. Book #127 is Abby's Un-Valentine. Abby again? What happened to Jessi? She hasn't spoken in over ten books! ANOTHER BOOK ABOUT JESSI, QUICK!

Stacey Loves Matchmaking!
This book was really good. Don't listen to that person who said her mom and John did the matchmaking. Stacey is my fave charecter, and this book was really, really good. She baby-sits some kids and gets their dad with her mom, but it all falls apart, then together, than apart. You've GOT to read this!

A tribute to mother-daughter bonds & single-parent families!
The McGill are enjoyable characters. Stacey is a wonderful, intelligent, caring daughter and Maureen is lucky to have her! While she was babysitting John's kids, I could see that Joni was hurting which explained her obnoxious behavior. It's difficult for a girl to grow up without a mother. I think Joni's dad John could have done better to let Joni live with her mother than just yell at her for acting out. Stacey tries to help, but ended up making a lousy matchmaker. It's a good thing Maureen and John didn't stay together or both families would have ended up MISERABLE! The part where Abby, Kristy, and Mary Anne talk about their family situations is interesting. I'm glad Abby's mom is still single and happy. Hopefully, Maureen will stay a single mom; I like the single-mom McGill family as it is! Also neat is how they discuss books that they've read and Stacey talks with the BSC about the book club and the whole BSC gets into books they've read. I like how the BSC talk about so many different things(unlike the Fabulous Five, who tend to talk mostly about boys & clothes). The BSC are a tribute to teenage girls everywhere!

Suspenseful novel for young readers
Although I am now 18 years old, I still enjoy looking back on my Baby-Sitters Club books and reading them over again just for fun. Baby-Sitters' Island Adventure is probably one of the best super specials, though they are all really good.

In Baby-Sitters Island Adventure, Dawn and Claudia have been taking sailing lessons for a while. When their instructors tell them they can sail without any counselors after a tied sailing race, Claudia and Dawn decide to race again for a rematch. But then, they decide to take some of the kids they baby-sit for (Becca Ramsey--Jessi's nine-year-old sister; nine-year-old Haley Braddock; four-year-old Jamie Newton, and Dawn's ten-year-old brother, Jeff), and just race from Stoneybrook to an island close by called Greenpoint Island and then have a picnic and come right back.

On the day of the race, the sky looks bright and clear. But while they are out in the water racing, there is a freak thunderstorm which makes Dawn's boat flood! The sailboats they are using are too small for all six of them but manage to make it to a small unknown island far off course. Now the other baby-sitters and the town of Stoneybrook are worried: How long can two teens with four young children last? But the real question is...did they all survive? And if they did, where ARE they?

In this thrilling novel you will learn all about learning how to survive while you are alone on an island (okay...so maybe not. But it's still a great read, especially for a boring summer day!). Ann M. Martin has done it again! Must read for all Baby-Sitters fans.

Say hello to your friends!
Don't miss Ann M. Martin's brilliant take on the island lifestyle. This Super Special finds two of our favorite fools stranded on a deserted island with four -- count 'em! four! -- baby-sitting charges. Read all about it as they scavenge for food, water, and shelter ("We're off to find a shelter! A wonderful shelter we'll find," sings the jovial Haley Braddock). Feel your heart pound when Jamie Newton grows ill (yes, Jamie Newton... they took a 4-yr-old with them on a sailing trip). Learn about life on the homefront with first-person accounts from Kristy, Mary Anne, and many others. Find out why Jamie Newton is AFRAID OF HIS DREAMS! This book is a must-read!

Lost Crews and Shipwrecks and storms,Oh my
cluadia and Dawn get stranded on an island with a sick child and Stacey's father is being selfish and will not let her come back because he wants to spend time with her.Who else could this happen to but the BSC.This was a very good book

Logan is so Cam Geary-ish
Logan Bruno... Mary Anne Spier. What can I possibly say to give justice to my absolute adoration of this book? This has always been my all time favorite of the series. It shows that a sweet personality such as Mary Anne's is appreciated by even the finest breed of stud. I love it how Mary Anne gets the dude! The only unrealistic part of the book is when Mary Anne wears her famous cities skirt to two consecutive and substantial "with Logan" functions-- the dance and the surprise party. I hate that part! And that Alan Gray orphan Annie eyes blurb is hilarious.!~ Did Claudia almost say bra strap in from of a boy!

i luv this book the most of all the BSC books
My name is Kevin and I'm 21, and I love "Logan Likes Mary Anne"! Anne Martin you're great!!! My favorite part is when one of the kids gets his hand stuck in a jar, and Mary Anne can't figure out how to get it out, but Logan does with butter. This book really tackles the issue of young teen love in a world of teen anxh and babysitting. My favorite part is that Mary Anne gets to hang out with Logan -AND- make four dollars!

Wonderful
I think it's great how Ann finally got some boys involved in the series. I also love Logan. I think it's great that Mary Anne was the first to have a real boyfriend. Also Mary Anne gets Tigger her cat in this book!!!!

Stacey's Movie (Baby-Sitters Club, 130)

Not exactly over the top, but I'd recommend it
Although I, personaly, am not a hug Stacey fan (she's part of the club, it wouldn't be quite the same without her, but my personal favorites are Mallory, Abby, and Kristy) This account of her school film project, in which she interviews other kids on what it's like to be a middle school student, is a... good read. I wouldn't call it wondrfull, exactly, but all these books kind of have a certin something that makes them enjoyable, especialy as you get to know everyone, and i did enjoy
reading the responces of the studens. I liked Alen Grey's interview inparticular. It was nice to see another side of him. After all, a sence of humor is a great thing, but it's nice to know that there's...more, to Alan.
All in all, Stacey's movie is a peice that I would certenly recommend.

Stacey's True Friendship
I rate this book 5 stars. Once I read it I could not put it down. Stacey loves film-making and her school is having a Short Takes class with a real-life director to teach it. Stacey films all of her friends and Mary Anne says something on film that she wants Stacey to cut out. But will Stacey be a true friend? Or will she embarress Mary Anne in front of everyone?

STARRING STACEY!
This is by far and away the best book featuring Stacey. I like the Stacey character and find her level and mature and very believable. Ms. Martin has a real gift for creating characters with staying power and her natural flair for dialog and conversation is phenomenal.

In this story, Stacey's school has a series of "short takes" classes. Professionals offer to teach a class in their area of expertise for part of a marking period. Movie making was one such class and Stacey eagerly agreed to participate in that one. She is grouped with a compatible bunch of kids and, armed with camera and notebooks, learn a lot about how their class mates really feel. My favorite parts were Claudia's confession about her strong distate for school and Emily Black, the school editor's adept dodging of any discussion of herself. Turning the question around to the asker is a very effective dodge and I loved that part. I also liked seeing a more mature version of Mary-Anne.

This one is one that I think most readers will enjoy. Ms. Martin is truly gifted in creating something with a lot of staying power.

Dawn's Wicked StepSister
Now that Dawn and Mary Anne are friend's and sisters, Dawn want's them to do everything together such as share a room, talk all night, and wear each other's clothes. Living with Mary isn't exactly what Dawn expected. Little things Mary does are braging about her dates try's to take over Dawn's babysisting club job. Imagine how Dawn feels about that. I think this book was a good book it make's you start to feel different about your life. I recommend this book for ages 13-16.

Mary Anne Needs A Taste Of Her Own Medicine!
In this book Dawn and Mary Anne becaome stepsisters. Now you would probably think that's the best thing to happen to two best friends but it's a disaster once Mary Anne moves into Dawn's house(they share a room at first). First of all Mary Anne complains about Dawn's mom!Next she insults Dawn right IN HER FACE!Dawn has had enough so she stirs up a plan to scare Mary Anne out of her room and makes her move into her own room.Mary Anne deserves that!

I realy liked this book!!
In the begining I felt really bad that Mary-Ann and Dawn can't get along aftern their parentss wedding. It was a very weard thing to find out that Mary-Ann is cruel than what we know her from. I really like the way dawn acted.
I enjoyed this book very much. I hope you will too.

Great Book To Read During Summer!
This is a really fun book! Each kid has his or her own chapter in the book. This book has something for everyone, literally! Such as 2 of the kids are always looking for mysterys to solve, one kid is crafty and makes crafts to sell at the ferry docks, one of the girls dreams of being a movie star, etc. This is a fun book to read during summer because you dont have to read it straight through. Each chapter is kind of a story in itself. So you can read it off and on. Im 12 and I read the book 3 times! I would recommend this book for kids age 5 to 13. This book makes a great gift and younger kids love it too. BUY THIS BOOK, YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT!!!!!!!

The Best Book Ever! By: Agatha
The book Eleven Kids One Summer is a great book about a family of
13! This book tells their exiting stories about a summer they spent on an island of the coast of NY. Every kid has their own chapter telling about their own most exiting part of the summer. Like, when they meet a movie star shooting a movie on the island. Or when they heard a spooky story from a fisherman and find the truth about it. I recamend this book to people who like exiting humarus books!

A great book!
Eleven Kids, One Summer is a great book. As the sequel to Ten Kids no Pets, it still has the same lighthearted humor as its preceder. In Eleven Kids, One Summer, the ten Rosso kids have lots of adventures. (I said ten and not eleven because Keegan doesn't do much.) This was a really good book and I recommend it to kids from 1 to 101!

Good story
I liked the story. It was a little predictable, but I thought the underlying message is a good one- nothing gets done if you're out for yourself instead of the team. And that's the bottom line. Book 111 was just as good. It had an excellent theme as well. Enjoy!

uh, ex-use me miss Ashley Johnstone!
this book taught about sportmanship and dealing with handycapped children. It was a GOOD READ!! I'm sorry, Ashley, THE ONLY THING SHALLOW I SEE HERE IS *COUGH* YOU!! I don't understand why people think the books are shallow-maybe it's the name. So Ashley, if you have enough guts, write another review on this book to me. I'll be looking for it--if you don't write you are a wuss! This book WAS A GREAT READ. READ IT!

Good book
This book is good. It shows to true meaning of sports; The point is to try your best not to win. Abby gets really jealous of a girl who's taken her spot on the team. They fight and take their arguemnt out on the field. They get benched. Abby also has more problems when her sister and mom want to visit her father's grave. She doesn't want to. She learns to accept this and she and the girl make up

A Really Great Book
I really liked this book. Dawn and all the other babysitters are excited about the Little Miss Stoneybrook Pagent. So are some moms, including Kristy's. They each make one babysitter in the club promise to help them. Karen, Myriah, etc. Those are some of the names of girls who are entering. With all the babysitters doing this, it's chaos! A fight almost develops between them. Who will win?

It was a good and interesting book to read
I've always loved the Baby sitter club books they are very interesting to read espiessialy this book, this book was about that Charlotte,Myrah, claire and Margo pike join a peagent and they get baby sitters to help them like claudia, dawn, and kristy they become very involved in it and try to make them win.

A very good book!
In this book all of the members of the babysitters club, except Mallory and Jessie, are helping little girls prepare tp compete in the Little Miss Stoneybrook pagaent. All the girls want to win, but only one of them can. And as the pageant aproaches, the competitiveness grows between the members of the Baby-sitters Club! They all agree that Mariya really has a good chance of winning. Clair, Margo, Karen, and Charlotte are also competing, but they're not quite as serious as Mariya. It's pageant day, and all of the girls are ready to go. But now they've got another competitor. Her name is Sabrina Bouvier, and she's been in 6 pageants. She's wearing makeup, and she acts like she's 25 when she's only 9. Will Sabrina become Little Miss Stoneybrook, or will Mariya get the crown? Do Karen, Clair, Margo, and Charlotte have more of a chance than every one thinks. You'll have to read to find out!
