Kristy's in terrible danger...
In "Kristy and the Kidnapper", Kristy encounters a dangerous situation while on a school debate trip in D.C. One of her classmates nearly gets upducted, and Kristy is the only witness...

I enjoyed this book although I like the more down to earth Friends Forever storylines better. This one was a bit much, but I did enjoy the change of pace...none of the other Friends Forever teens were in the story. Their names are only mentioned once or twice, and that was refreshing and different.

Overall this book was all right, but it isn't as great as the previous books in the series.

I Loved Abby Being in This Book!
I was really excited when I saw this book because Abby was FINALLY in one of the FF books. I also want to know whats up with Jessi?

Anyways, Kristy and Abby are on the debate team and are traveling to Washington D.C. for a competition. They are both signed up in the beginner level and Kristy gets assigned to a team with someone name Kai and David. Kristy tells David that he looks exactly like Terry Hoyt, and he acts all nervous... Then David disappears...........

A book that will keep you reading and reading!
This book was humongously good. In fact, I think this is the best Kristy book so far in the BSC Friends Forever series. A great job you're doing, Ms. Martin, and keep up the good work!

When Kristy and her friends went down to Washington, D.C., on a school trip, they expected to see some famous sites. But they never imagined they would be caught up in a big and dangerous mystery involving secret identities, dark revenge, and a suprise kidnapping attempt. Kristy is one of the only witnesses who could put the kidnapper behind bars. Can she stop him in time? Read this book and find out!

Mallory Hates Boys (and Gym)
Mallory Pike is going through a tough time. She really doesn't like gym. Mallory thinks she is a total klutz and, in turn, it makes her do poorly in gym. The boys in Mallory's gym class make fun of her for it and they tease her constantly. Finally in the end, from the help of her friends (the rest of the Baby-Sitters Club), Mallory finds something in gym class she can do very well. This book is very well written and is one of my favorites! Enjoy! :-)

I'm glad Martin brought this issue out in the open!
I wish I had read this book when I was in jr high, because I can really identify with Mallory and what she goes through. I dropped out of P.E. in 8th grade because I couldn't take it anymore what was happening to me in our co-ed P.E. class. I wasn't the athletic type and was a klutz, and was harassed by the guys who would call me fat, etc. and it was a totally humiliating experience for me. I especially hated soccer, I just couldn't get it, and the guys took total advantage of this by slamming the ball into me ow!! They thought it was the funniest thing in the world to see me in pain. Like in Mal's situation, the school authorities couldn't understand why I'd refuse to go to P.E. Like Mal, I too was punished due to my failure to participate. By highschool I had a medical waiver so I didn't have to do P.E. at all. I was free! I don't think kids should have to suffer through P.E.; It is a dumb rule to have it as a requirement. What does it matter; it's not doing anything for your education...

Realistic and Interesting
This is an excellant read for preteens. I myself read it a few years ago, and thoroughly enjoyed it. At the beginning, you learn that Mallory Pike has trouble in gym class; she finds both the sport of volleyball and the boys she plays it with repulsive. As the story unfolds, the character of Mallory comes alive. You truly feel like you know her; her problems become your own. A great choice for a preteen girl, or anyone who has ever hated boys and gym.

Mary Anne and Miss Priss
I thought this was a very good book, and I am going to read lots more of this series. I like the character of Mary Anne and she is very kind to help Jenny to get happy again. I would recommend this book to a lot of people.

Intriquing view on child psychology...
Story kind of amusing, yet poignant. Kind Mary Anne seems to be the only one who understands why Jenny acts so fussy for a four-year-old. Touching how Mary Anne worries about Jenny, especially when Jenny's own parents don't seem to understand her & pour a lot of attention into baby Andrea. The book was kind of funny in that Mary Anne goes through a lot with Jenny, especially when Jenny turns messy & makes a HUGE mess of peanut butter in the kitchen, testing even Mary Anne's patience. Another cute scene which also reflects Mary Anne's gritty, honest humility is when the other kids reject Jenny openly from their games & Mary Anne is startled to notice that Jenny doesn't seem hurt or upset, then thinks, "if it had been me, I would have turned bright red & burst into tears." Typical Mary Anne humility! I'm past my teen years now & I read this book a while back, but I sometimes re-read Mary Anne's books & as I'm reading, I sometimes forget that Mary Anne is still a child in this series; her mind seems so...grown up & mature. I love how perceptive she is & sees beyond the superficial facts of behavior & understands why people behave in certain ways. Mary Anne's truly enchanting & unlike any other character I've read about.

I loved it!
This was one of the best BSC books yet!! Jenny P. is shown in a new view. Before she was always the favorite and spoiled child. Now Andrea seemms to have taken over Jenny's plaace as the princess. She doesn't know how to deal with this. She tries to attract attention by being Miss Perfect. Mary Anne sees that Jenny is hurting inside and decides to show Jenny that her parents still love her. This was a very good book and I know every sibling has felt the same way Jenny has.

This book was okay.
Mary Anne finds herself very curious of her mother. So she looks in the photo albums in the attic and discovered an awful secret.

Part of how Mary Anne became the incredible person she is...
If you want to meet a truly unforgettable, memorable book character that will forever touch your heart & even change how you think, read this book & meet Mary Anne Spier. Her mom died when she was a baby & her life hasn't been very easy. Yet she faces that with a rare courage & dignity that I admire. She searches the attic to find out more about her mom & discovers her long-lost grandmother! She also finds out a BIG secret that happened between her dad & grandmother that involves her. Even though it upset her terribly, she had the strength & courage to confront it & talk to her dad. It was so touching that she finally got to see her grandmother after all these years & form a bond with her. I liked finding out more about her mom along with her & here we meet Mary Anne's grandmother, Verna Baker. I like Verna too & hope she's in more future books!

I give it a 10!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The reason I give this book a 10 is because it was very while written. In this book Mary Anne finds something about her past that she wishes that she had never laid her eyes on it. I hope you enjoyed this book as much as I did.

GREAT
It was a great book! there's this guy, fowler, and he wants to redo stoneybrook with malls and junk. so ther's this fire at a client's house, and the babysitter quits. mary anne is the first one to babysit the kids, luke and amalia. luke doesn't seem to trust his sitters. the fire was in a townhouse in miller's park, where fowler wants to tear them down. the mystery has to do with allie, the old babysitter's boyfriend, fowler's twin brother, and a map of stoneybrook the way fowler wants it. i just wish the book was longer. luke isn't a silent witness like everyone thinks. he just finds that map. very interesting.

Great absolutely Great!!!!!!!!!!!!!
When a new client askes for a babysitter every weekday untill they find a permanent sitter Mary Anne is the first to be free.Meanwhile an evil man plans to rip down a park! The BSC have to do somthing and just their luck the new client lives near the park! The clients are a boy and his little sister. But Mary Anne decides somthings wrong with the boy after all their was a fire at their house not too long before the last sitter quit and BSC took over the roll. But wierd things are going on threatening messages, strange neighbours and alot of questions the BSC have to answer before the park gets ripped down and a kid being terrified forever!!!!!!!

Sounds like another great book by Ann M. Martin!

Poor BSC, but it really is a good book!
There are new clients at the BSC! Mrs. Gardella heard nice things about the Club, so she calls to ask for a sitter. Stacey is the only one free, so she takes the job. When she arrives at the Gardellas' house, she thinks they are weird. But she handles the job pretty well

Stacey thought that Mrs. Gardella was weird, but not so much! She started telling the BSC clients about the missing ring, and business comes down. Will the BSC prove Stacey is innocent? How?

In this book Stacey is baby sitting a couple kids. While Stacey is sitting a ring gets lost. The parents acuse Stacey of stealing the ring. Even Stacey's best friend backs out on Stacey by searching Stacey's jewerly boxes! To find out if Stacey can prove everyone wrong read this realy great book.

Wrong accusation
In this book Stacey sits for a little baby along with two pets. Then when a ring disappears, the baby's parents accuse Stacey of stealing it, and they threaten to tell the BSC's other charges about how bad the BSC really is. And now the BSC has to find the ring and the real culprit to save Stacey's tail and the BSC's business.

How is Karen going to tell Nancy the doll is not for keeps?

In Karen's school trip, Karen's class is going to the zoo! But then the flu hits Ms. Colman's class. Is the trip to the zoo going to get cacelled? Karen hopes not! That was my review. I hope it was helpful.

Tiffany's Review
I really liked the book and would recommend it to others. One day Karen went to school and her teacher, Mrs. Colman said that she was going to have surgery and she would be gone for a month. The next day when Karen went to school a new teacher, named Mrs. Hoffman, was there. She was very mean and had lots of rules such as no talking, the seating arrangement had to be in alphabetical order, you had to line up in two straight lines. She made a chore chart and they all had a chore to do such as cleaning the sink, cleaning the hamster's cage, and watering plants.

Okay Book
I only rated this 4 stars because I'm not a big sports fan but it's actually a good book. This is where Kristy finally gets interested in boys(in this case, Bart Taylor)and she also starts a softball team for little kids.To give you an idea of how young this kids are, I'll tell you that Gabbie is on the team! It's funny!

Do you want to know who the walking disaster is.
I think this is a very good book. It is about a girl named Kristy and how she makes a softball team out of any kid that wants to be in one. The kids that are on the team don't really know how to play that good. They all put their best effort to get better and they do. Kisty;s team is called Kristy;s Krushers with a K. Then they play against a Bart;s Bashers(Kristy has a big crush on him). Bart's team is beter and they are all bigger than kristy's,so read the book to find out what happens next.

Very good!
The characterization is strong, with a good mix of characters. Kristy is a good example of a round character, but Jamie Newton is a flat character. The conflicts are also strong.

It's Ok
A fairly average novel as far as BSCs go.Mary ANne and Dawn are mothers-helpers again and there's lots of boys and flirting. You know.

Sea City part II
When I was 13 and I saw a preview for this book in the Scholastic book order, I was so excited since I had enjoyed part 1 of Sea City in #8 Boy Crazy Stacey. I went out and bought it just in time for summer vacation and took it with me to read when I went with my family to the Oregon Coast. It was very appropriate reading material for that environment. It was so good, and I enjoyed it except that I feel like there was too much 'romance' in it. And that seemed to make it dull. But it was still good, although I preffered Sea City part 1 in Book #8.

Very dramatic.
This was a very enjoyable. It involves a lot of romance and is also very heartbreaking. If this was a movie siskel and Egbert would give it two thumbs. It deserves five stars.

Good story, a little too long...
Olivia gets a new neighbor, who's also in her Kindergarten class. When she discovers how smart Rachel is, she isn't so sure she wants to be her friend anymore. But when Olivia's favorite teacher makes up an interesting game, Olivia and Rachel learn why it's not so bad having a friend that challenges you.

The story is good, and the idea is excellent. However, my two daughters (ages 5 & 6) found it a little long. I have to admit, I even found it a bit too long. All in all, it is a good story with a good lesson to teach your child... and one probably best for bedtime, since you may find your child asleep by the end.

class assignment
Olivia is an only child who is in kindergarten. She is the only one in her class who can read an write. Rachel Parker moves in next door. She also knows how to read and write. What happens between these two during class?

This is one of my favorite books. I have always enjoyed it. It shos how simple little things can get in the way of a friendship. They go back and forth trying to be better than each other and end up getting into a fight. I highly recommend this book for any child.

Good book
Olivia is five years old, and attends kindergarten. She doesn't have any brothers and sisters but has a cat named Rosie who is her best friend. Her teachers name is Mrs. Beejorgenhoosen. One day Olivia sees a moving van next door and is curious to who is moving in. When she sees a family going into the house, she quickly runs outside to introduce herself. She meets Rachel Elizabeth Parker who is also five. She learns that Rachel is going to be in her class. She and Rachel quickly become friends, until Olivia learns that Rachel is a show-off. Rachel and Olivia take turns going over to each others houses and playing. Olivia and Rachel get into an argument because they both think they are better than each other. The next day at school Mrs. Bee tells them they are the teachers and they both have to read to the class. They learn that they are not better than each other, and instead they help each other out. In the end they make up and are glad they are friends. I liked this book because it taught how someone you may think is a show off really has problems doing things too.
