Sometimes there's no place you can be safe
This book was okay. I say it was okay because those kids, Joey and Nate Nicholls, were being abused by their father. Claudia felt that it wasn't safe in the Nicholls' home. She was scared. She did a good thing by telling her mother about what was happening to Joey and Nate. I would have done the same thing if it was me. Sometimes you can't be safe anywhere.

5 stars all the way!
This book is very touching. It is about 2 kids named Nate and Joey, who's father abuses them. When Claudia is baby-sitting, she notices their father get all upset when Nate TOUCHES his brief case. Touches it. NOT brakes it. I mean BIG DEAL! Then, when she goes upstairs to get her coat she hears a slap, and when she sees Joey, his cheek looks red. I really like this book!

Did the boys get away?
I rate this book a 9 because it was pretty good, but not worth a 10. Joey and Nate were two boys whom Claudia suspected were getting abused by their father. Did Joey and Nate get away? If you want to find out, read Claudia and the Terrible Truth!

A great book!
Anna and Abby had always been twins, and they had also been different. Abby has asthma, is allergic to a lot of things, likes jokes and sports. Anna had always loved playing her violin. Despite that, they had been close. But when Anna is found to have sciolosis or something, Abby is worried and tries hard to be like her twin.

This is an excellent book!

Twins are supposed to be exactly alike!
Abby's twin is one of the first books in the BSC that I bought. This book is full of reality. When Abby's twin, Anna, gets scoliosis, Abby feels guilty. So she tries to cheer Anna up, which only makes it worse. Anna doesn't seem to want Abby's help. Abby's confused. Twins are supposed to be there for each other, aren't they? What will happen to the twin's relationship? Read the book and join in!

Will Scoliosis Get Abby and Anna Down?????
In this book, Abby finds out she and Anna have scoliosis. Abby only has a little bit of it, so she dosen't have to wear a brace. But Anna has to because of the way her spine is. Scoliosis is a thing where your spine is not completely straight. As a result, if it's bad you might have to wear a brace. Anna's brace, she will wear underneath her clothing. Since if she wears bulky clothes so nobody will notice her brace, Abby gets an idea to buy her some clothes. That's one of the many things Abby does to try to make Anna feel better. But the clothes she chooses are things only Abby would like, meaning she bought clothes Anna hates! Abby also cuts her hair to look just like Anna. Abby even wanted to try on Anna's brace! Also, the BSC is planning a Winter Carnival, but the snow is dissapearing! How will things get back to normal if they are already this bad? Find out in BSC#4, Abby's Twin!

This book is entertaining and even a little scary.
This book is really entertaining. Even a little scary the first time you read it. I know that it might sound silly, but still, wouldn't you be scared if a robber might be in the same house with you without you even knowing it until he's gone? This book is when Claudia falls in 'luv' with a poet named Trevor and the BSC reads in the newspaper that a phantom caller (a jewel thief) was loose in a town really close to Stoneybrook. This caller calls your house first to see if anyone answers the phone, if not, he robs your house and he sometimes even rob houses when there are people actually there with him. Scary things started happening to the BSC, such as being called with no one on the other end. Claudia is sure that she loves mysteries, but she's not so sure that if she likes mysteries actually happen to her. What will happen? Read the book and join the BSC Mystery Squad to find out!

The First Spooky BSC Book!
This book is awesome! It keeps you wondering what will happen next.Claudia has a crush on Trevor Sandbourne, but she thinks he doesn't know who she is. Later on, he finds out who she is when she accidently spills Jell-o on him at lunch! Meanwhile, the BSC is scared of burglers. Claudia and Kristy get weird phone calls while they're sitting. You'll be suprised who it is! Read this book! Buy it!

A book that you want to read again and again!
This book was one of my favorites in the BSC Friends Forever Series. First of all, it was very well written. It was so realistic that I even thought for a moment that Mary Anne and Logan were real people! It was such a good book. Keep up the great job, Ms. Martin!

Everyone thinks Mary Anne and Logan are the perfect couple. Everyone except Mary Anne. Logan's definitely a great guy. But lately things have been weird between the two of them. Mary Anne wants a change...even if it hurts. It's the end of Mary-Anne-and-Logan. And it's the beginning of the new Mary Anne.

Mary Anne comes out of her shell!
This was a great book! This book not only showed that Mary Anne didn't NEED to depend on Logan anymore, but it also brought up the fact that Mary Anne is growing up. Coming out of her shell. As Dawn said: "Your busting loose Mary Anne!" Logan was too controling and too sexest. Also how DARE he make fun of Mary Anne after she offered him countless times that she wanted to remain friends with him. Oh well, it's Logan's loss. He just missed out on a great friend, Mary Anne Spier.

I'm counting the days until #4! Great new series Ann M. Martin!

Good for Mary Anne!
In Friends Forever #3, Mary Anne FINALLY breaks up with Logan her steady boyfriend.

I really think Ann M. Martin is doing a wonderful job with this new series. The events (especially this one) are realistic, and that means that teens can relate to the chariters more. Mary Anne did the right thing by breaking up with Logan. I thought that throughout the old series he was becoming sexiest and (allthough he ment well) a little controling. His father striked me the same way.

Mary Anne, although shy, is her own person and a very strong young woman. Good for you Mary Anne! Can't wait for #4!

Will Dawn ever become friends with the mean Kristy Thomas?
I think this is a really interesting book. This is a book when Dawn realizes that Kristy is jealous of her to be Mary Anne's other best friend. Mary Anne doesn't need Kristy that much anymore and that Kristy liked it much better without Dawn around. So when Dawn takes the job with the Barrett kids, she's sure that she can prove to Kristy want a fine sitter she is and that she is very nice. Then she discovers that the Barrett kids have problems. Mrs. Barrett is very disorganized and she just got through an unfriendly divorce. Dawn's determine to solve two things--what a fine sitter and good friend she can be to Kristy and win her friendship, and help the Barrett kids and Mrs. Barrett. Planning it out is easy, but how is she supposed to do it? Join Dawn and help her solve her problems!

Good Job
You will most def like this book. It's about an eighth-grader named Dawn Schafer that has to babysit for three kids: Buddy, Suzi, and Marnie. They are the Impossible Three to her. But it's not their fault; it's their mother's. She just suffered a divorce and is frazzled with a busy schedule and not to mention her three children. The house is messy, the children are sloppy, and Mrs. Barret still manages to pull herself together. Well, Dawn confronts her and says what needs to be done, but she says it without intruding on their family's matters. I liked the way that she did that. I also liked the way she became friends with Kristy, after all, she did sort of "steal" her best friend. But Kristy and Mary Anne are still best friends, and Dawn's Mary Anne's other best friend. It would've been better if they all became a circle of best friends, but that's okay. It could very well happen one day.

Read the book! It rulez!

Interesting
Dawn and the Impossible Three by Ann M.Martin is about a girl named Dawn who just joined the baby sitters club that Kristy formed. As Dawn starts her baby sitting job, she gets faced with something that she thought wouldn't have happened. Then she later on realizes that she can't do everything for a family because it's not her job to do that and it should be the parents job to do it.

Buddy Barette who is one of the kids that Dawn had to baby sit is missing and nobody knows where he is. Dawn was so scared because it was her respondsibilty to watch him and his two little sisters. She had everybody in the neighborhood looking for him. Buddy called Dawn and asked,"Buddy, where are you? we're worried death. Where are you?"(pg.140)and then she became happy to hear that he's still alive and knowing that he's coming back home.

This was my first time ever reading one of the Baby Sitters Club book. at first I thought it wasn't good becuase of the title of the book, but then when i finished book, it made me want to read more books from the Baby Sitters Club. Since I was once a baby sitter myself, I can kind of relate to some of the girls in the story and that's how it made me become interested in reading the book.

This summary will addict you to BSC books...forever
Boy-Crazy Stacey is really one of the best BSC books. Stacey and Mary Anne are mother's helpers for the Pikes for 2 weeks on the Jersey shore. Stacey meets a lifeguard and it's love at first sight for her!!!! But soon Mary Anne gets reeeally mad at Stacey. Will Stacey and Mary Anne survive Sea City? Will Mary Anne forgive Stacey. Does the lifeguard love Stacey. It's a sort of mystery and that's why I like it.

Triumphant
Amalia, Diary Three was one of the better California Diaries books. It's great that there's a series for teenagers which portrays more to life than little boy troubles and other pre-pubescent junk - but real angst and events that happen to us. All people, whether or not a survivor of a racist incident, can relate to being discriminated against - and this book can help you get through it. CD #14 was excellent, though I wish it had been a little longer. Go read! :)

I love this book
This was such a great book. I love California Diaries, why does it take Ann M. Martin so long to write them? Normally, the diaries focused on certain problems each character had. Maggie, another girl, had an eating disorder and had a lot of family problems. Amalia struggled with an abusive relationship, Sunny struggled with her mother's cancer, and then later tried to cope with the death of her mother. This book took a shocking twist when Amalia was attacked (verbally abused, then spat on) by a group of girls because of the fact that she is hispanic. Amalia has a really hard time dealing with this, but eventually pulls through. The book also focused on her friendship with Maggie, and her new relationship with boyfriend Brendan. I love these books and thought this one was great. Maggie is my favorite character (though Amalia is awesome, too), and I loved how good friends she and Amalia are. Read it, I bet you will love it!

California Diaries:Amalia Diary Three
This is pretty sad that this is the second to last book in the series(I have all of them)but the book is good and deals with a rather big issue.
Many people could find faults with this book such as the short story length and the excessive amount of pictures. If you read the first Amalia diary(no 4)you would understand that she is not much of a writer. But the pictures help to understand better. When Amalia has her dreams about how everyone else saw the attack,it made it easier to understand.Sure some of the pictures are messy but in a journal you're not always going to be neat.
There are really good bits in here like the usher for one.Amalia had just been beaten up and it showed to her(even though she was still in a state of shock and she probably didn't realise)that not all strangers are going to be racist and mean.Another good part is when Amanda spoils the very first idea for Dawn's party.
Ann Martin has always been a favourite of mine and these books just help to prove it.Amalia is a good role model(friend fights and all)because she can move on.Shes realises her mistakes and fixes them and she is a good friend.
I recommend this book and the rest of California Diaries. Please, please, please do not get put off by the teen drama blurbs on the back, they are just to get you interested(even though they tend to put most people off because they think it is not suitable reading.)
Happy reading!:)

Fight For Your Right
Mary Anne has always been one of my favorite BSC members. This book of her was very good. In the beginning Mary Anne has a regular BSC meeting with her friends, but because of something Kristy did... there comes a HUGE fight between the members of The Baby-Sitters Club. In fact the whole book is about it, but here is too about Mary Anne and her father. Mary Anne's mother died when she was a baby and her father is trying to prove that he can raise a great child without mother. But Mary Anne has to keep her hair in pigtails and her father buys her clothes. And what about Mary Anne's room... I learnt a lot from this book and I think you should read this.

A good book
I read this over ten yrs ago and recently re-read it and still enjoy it. Although it is hard to get into initially and the beginning sort of dragged on (my friend Amber loaned it to me when we were in 5th grade and I don't think I got past chapter 1. I had never read BSC books until then so I didn't find the intro. boring, however. I think that the BSC is too judgemental towards each other. They think Mary Anne is immature but she was the one who wanted reconciliation after their dumb fight, and Kristy was the most difficult. Talk about immature! Also it was unprofessional the way they refuse to at least meet for the club and not function. Mary anne was the mature one in that respect.

Awsome!
I loved this book! It was so realistic, and I have nothing bad to say about it. It is about this girl named Mary Anne who gets in a fight with the BSC and has trouble making up with them. Then she meets a new friend Dawn. Then a girl Jenny she was baby sitting for gets so sick that something drastic had to happen envolving Mary Anne and Dawn. If you want to know more, (which is what I'm trying to make you) read this book! I would reccomend this to all girls!

Friendship and Teen Problems Emerge in Ducky:Diary Two
Ducky, Diary Two is the tenth book in the California Diaries series, and maybe one of the best. Ducky, Diary Two is about Ducky and his struggle to help out his best friend, Alex Snyder. After getting a few pointers from his English teacher, Ducky realizes that the key to really helping Alex is to never give up. Ducky may be one of my favorite characters because of his optimistic look on life and strong willingness to help others. The CA Diaries series is excellent because it combines real-life problems and struggles along with morals and humor. I've read every book in this series and each one outdoes the one before it. This is a terrific book for any teen who has ever had problems with a friend or problems of their own.

Repeats are good
Wow! This book first of all connected to me since I have had experince with depression(unfortunatly). I could see the pain that both Ducky and Alex were experincing. Not only was the plot good, but the characters were also well written. The only problem i had with this is that is was sort of a repeat of the first book. That didn't stop me from reading it though. The ending is the best and i almost cried! i suggest people who love the series should read this book.

Great
Ducky is one of my favorite characters. His depressed friend Alex is so frustrating sometimes you want to scream, but it is very realistic and detailed. People have described Ducky as optimistic, I think he's a definite pessimist, but then life has burned his bridges. It was nice to see a more detailed relationship with Ted. I don't know how accurate Ducky's diary is, you can kind of tell the author is a woman without knowing who it is. One thing about the CA diaries, though I love them... how do they find so much time to write in their diaries? Ducky finds time to write several times during the school, before dinner, after dinner, the middle of the night (insomnia), etc....whew! I will say that reading these books makes me want to write in my own diary and they are very good, but really- how do they find the time? Overall: Really awesome book. His writing style isn't as enjoyable to read (at least I found it this way) as Maggie or Amalia, the "you" thing but I love his sense of humor and how he starts his entries like: After Math- The Aftermath. The book is very similar to Ducky 1, it's like an extension of itself. It's ending is similar, but much more hopeful. There's a wonderful breakthrough with Alex. Oh yes, one more thing... The book's message is inspiring but not corny. Never, ever give up.

good but unrealistic and off point.not as good as the others
i read CD#13lately and i wasnt very impressed.it wasnt as maggies other diaries where she is trying to face more serious problems such as her anoxeria ,her perfect life frame, her moms drinking, and her family in general.sometimes Amalias diaries speak more about maggie than her diaries themselves.in CD#13,Ann MArtin focused on one side of maggies life .so many problems remain unsolved and untouched.her mom was barely mantioned and her father too,ISNT THAT WHAT SHE WAS ALWAYS COMPLAINING ABOUT?I mean the book is focused on tyler only,as if everything else is ok or not worth mentioning.the story of tyler is rediculous and dull, ann focused on him too much and i was very bored.ANN COULD HAVE WRITTEN A BETTER BOOK ABOUT MAGGUE. THE PROBLEM IS THE BOOK HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE OTHER PREVIOUS MAGGIE DIARIES and anyone could haVE WRITTEN A SIMILAR ONE.however THE BOOK has postive points too. we finally see maggie blume HAPPY and satisfied .i guess ann wanted to put a HAPPY ENDING to maggies diaries.[by the way CD#14 IS A LOT BETTER AND IT HAS NEWS ABOUT MAGGIE TOO.MAYBE NEWS THAT ANN FORGOT TO WRITE IN THIS BOOK].

Glad to see Maggie get some happiness!
I thought this book was really good. Maggie finally got over her anorexia, and I'm glad to see her being happy. In this book she basically falls for Tyler Kendall - a movie star - and he likes her back. But she denies her feelings because, from her experience, all movie stars are shallow and self - centered ... but is Tyler different? If you love this series you HAVE to read this book!

ONE OF THE BEST MAGGIE BOOKS
Out of all the Maggie, California diaries this is one of the best. In this book her anerexia is gone and she is trying to get on with her life. She meets this reallt nice movie star while her dad is shooting his new film,Love Conquers All,and she tryes not to like him thinking he is just another movie star. Well, the whols book she is trying to figure out weather to like him or not, but at the end she figures what she should REALLY do!
