good
You will love this book if Stacey is your favorite character. At the end of it you end up feeling like stacey does and really sympathizing with her. At the end you also feel like kristy and dawn are really immature.

An interesting book about the stages of growing up
This book is really good. I always felt like I was Stacey ever since 1988 when I was 12. We looked alike and like clothes and shopping. Anyway I could identify with what she was feeling although sometimes I felt like she was a snob and went overboard being to embarrassed by her BSC friends's behavior. Sure, Kristy's behavior was totally inappropriate and if I was Stacey I would have reacted the same way. And Dawn was rude. I didn't really care for Stacey's new group of friends; they seemed dull. The conclusion was sad and the part where Stacey stands up to the BSC and Kristy the bossy old cow was cool! I loved the dialogue!

An interesting book
I have this book. It is good because you can understand how stacey feels . She must choose between the Bsc and her boyfriend. I would recommend it.

Good for Ann
This was a better one because it showed that the sitters have a life outside of baby sitting. It's just wacko to have no life other than the club. I liked how the the groups didn't mix well. More realism uncharacteristic to the BSC. I still give it three stars because Ann could've just skipped the baby-sitting crisis. She doesn't have to use the same sequence for every book, the personal crisis, maybe family crisis, and babysitting crisis. I mean, if a book was a path, showing the climax and all that good stuff, the BSC books are all the same. For someone who is such a famous author, and can write good books, you'd think she could come up with more plotlines.

Math Team?
Stacey knows she's talented at math. But is she good enough to be the state math champion? The head of the SMS math team thinks so. She asks Stacey to join.

Math Team? Just the thought of it gives Stacey the shivers. What if she doesn't know all the answers? What if the Mathletes are a bunch of losers?

The whole school is counting on Stacey. And once she starts competing, she's going to be in it to win.

AWESOME!!!
Stacey gets asked to join a math club called the "Mathletes" At first stacey doesn't want to join, but then she finally decides to join. This book was cool because it showed me how fun math can be. In this book Stacey tutors an 8-year old girl called Lindsey. When Stacey gets to busy with the mathletes, the members in the B.S.C. ask Claudia to tutor Linsey! This book was really good

Laine was not nice to Stacey
I enjoyed this book but I think that Laine was not a quality friend to begin with and couldnt believe Stacey put up with such a brat all the years she and Laine were friends. Some friend Laine was! Read the Super Special Called The Baby Sitters Remember about Stacey's memory and you'll see why. Laine is an egocentric, manipulative, selfish, snobby, bitchy, bossy old cow. I didn't know why anyone hung out with her. SHe was an annoying character and totally obnoxious. WHen Stacey was sick with diabetes she did her like dirt! Anyway I cringed when Laine tells Stacey of her love interest in NY. He was a DORK! Laine was someone who is out to impress the Joneses. She is a pathetic person who will never be happy if she is so concerned about what is "In". Stacey finally comes to her senses at the end. GOOD!!!

Laine, the Snooty ...!
I read that book recently and it was a good book. I agree with the second review. Laine was never a good friend to Stacey. If you read BSC Remember and Stacey's Book, you could read about Stacey's memories about Laine. Laine was a snob since she was in kindergarten. She was so mean to Stacey when she got diabetes and treated her as if she was poison. In this book, Laine visits Stacey in Stoneybrook for the first time and she seems to hate the trip. She seems bored, makes snooty comments about Stacey's town, boyfriend, school, clothes, friends, the BSC, and the Valentine's Dance. She even had the nerve to make mean comments about Pete Black who asks her to the dance. Stacey seems fed up of Laine's snob behavior and wants to save the friendship. But the final straw was at the Valentine's Dance where she whined about everything (her crushed corsage, date, music, decorations, food, and the annoying 6th graders). Then a slow song came on and Laine's finally satisfied. Pete asks her to dance and she says no, she's tired. Then a hot guy asks Laine to dance and she gladly accepts. She's all over the guy on the dance floor and Pete is upset and so is Stacey. Finally Stacey tells of Laine and they leave the dance early. They keep on fighting and Laine wants to go back to NYC. She takes the night train home and Stacey is glad and sad. I'm glad she had Claudia and the club to support her. Losing a best friend is tough and it can happen to anyone.

Great!
It's great, even though it wasn't a perfect ending, it still shows how wise and brave Stacey is. Claudia's acually a really smart girl. What happens between Stacey and Laine can really happen in real life.

gr8 book!
i believe that this book is the best one in the series, for finally there are some new, and IMPROVED changes. I think that this books changes were good. such as Stacey's mom getting a new job, Staceys dad getting married (as a matter of fact, i was glad that Stacey didn't get mad at her dad, as dawn did in previous books, u know?) so just read it cuz it's really good and if ure a Stacey lover this is a MUST READ!

Great Addition to the Series
I really liked this book in the series. It dealed with someimportant issues that people have to deal with everyday. It'll keepyou reading unitl the suprising end.

One of the best yet!
This book was really good. I liked the way how Ann M. Martin didn't focus really much to baby-sitting and how she created some human problems. A great job you're doing, Ann, and keep up the good work!

Stacey's dad is getting remarried to his girlfriend, Samantha. It was a bit of a shock for Stacey, but she was really pleased. After all, Samantha was nice, caring, and pretty. But her mother, on the other hand, was shocked and devastated by the news. Meanwhile, Mallory comes back and she realizes things have changed. Her brothers and sisters don't look up to her anymore, and Vanessa's mad at Mallory because she wasn't there for her brothers and sisters when they needed help. While Stacey's mom is sad by the news, she has something else on her mind. Read this book and find out what!

It was a pretty good book!
Jessi makes fun of a teacher, not really trying to hurt his feelings. This book was good, but not totally realistic.

A VIEW FROM THE OTHER SIDE OF THE DESK
Ann Martin has a real gift. She is brilliant in creating characters, descriptions, dialogs and plots. Her trademark of having the babysitting charges contend a parallel or similar issue to the sitters is excellent. It is also very effective.

Jessi, one of the more appealing characters has a new teacher for a limited period named Mr. Trout. He wears retro clothing, a badly fitting, poorly styled wig and is the subject of cruel teasing by his pupils. During a Teachers' Parody show, Mr. Trout leaves. Jessi, remorseful at having been part of the razzing of Mr. Trout, writes him a really nice letter apologizing for her part in it and asking him to return to Stoneybrook. Mr. Trout wisely declines, having accepted a better position elsewhere.

Jessi gets a taste of her own medicine when the kids she sits for do a spoof on the baby sitters.

I liked Mr. Trout's replacement, Mr. Bellafatto. Mr. Bellafatto is a smart, stern, no nonsense type and he commands respect. The students know not to push his buttons! He does not beg the kids to like him by letting them walk all over him. He is an adult to be taken seriously and he COMMANDS RESPECT! I liked him.

It is a good look and a good explanation of how damaging teasing is and what an adverse effect it can have on people of all ages.

Teachers have feelings, too...
Interesting how tough teaching is, especially when you're considered "weird" by the kids as Mr. Trout is. The kids make fun of him & even though Jessi is shocked at first, she doesn't realize how he's affected. I liked how she took responsibility for her part in the prank that caused Mr. Trout to leave SMS for good. My favorite part, though, was when the BSC's charges put on a parody poking fun at the BSC themselves! Of course, it was all in fun. It was so funny how Kristy & Claudia howled, then laughed when they saw themselves being imitated, while shy, sensitive Mary Anne turns such a BRIGHT RED when Carolyn imitates Mary Anne's hyper-sonic-charged crying! Mary Anne does have a funny way of crying in heaving, hyper little blubbering sobs. It was funny how the audience was laughing, including the parents. And once Mary Anne started turning all red, she sure couldn't stop blushing! Wow! That part of the book made me laugh & also made me think.

The Best Baby-Sitters Book
This is a story of Ann M. Martin called "Karen's Worst Day".It's about Karen and everything is going wrong like she gets in a fight with her friend ,her cat Boo-Boo ran awawy from her, she gets sent to her room ,favorite tv show didn't come on today either but at the end of the day everything turns out okay.

Karen has bad luck
When Karen wakes up on Saturday morning her sister Kristy comes in her room upstairs. She left her new jeans at her mommy's house.Karen checks the ceral box to see if there is a surprise then she gets in a fight with her friend Hannie Papadakis. Then she punished for 10 minutes and she askes for a Cherry ice-cream.

"Everything is going wrong!"
After breaking her wrist in "Karen's Roller Skates", things don't seem to be going very well for 6-year-old Karen Brewer. It all started Saturday morning when Karen had a bad dream and fell out of bed. From there, the following things happen: she forgets to pack her favorite new pair of jeans for her weekend stay at her father's, the prize package in the Crunch-O cereal box is empty, her favorite TV show (Mr. Ed) is postponed, she has a fight with her best friend (Hannie Papadakis), and her favorite toy cat (Moosie) is falling apart. It looks like Karen's setting a new bad-day record. But will her bad luck finally run out by the days' end--or will she continue having bad luck?

Also recommended: "Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day" by Judith Viorst, which was one of the books Karen read that perked her out of her bad mood.

Will Martin ever get her medical facts straight?
Since Martin doesn't seem to have done any research regarding diabetes and autism for her previous books, it is no surprise that this book dealing with leukemia is full of errors as well. One has to do with how Danielle's leukemia was diagnosed. In the book, it was diagnosed with a blood test, and that is not how you diagnose leukemia! Some signs of leukemia can be detected by a blood test, but the only way to say for sure if a person has this disease is to give them a bone marrow aspiration. Another mistake is when Danielle returns to the hospital. The reason given is that she wasn't feeling well, so the doctors wanted to do some tests. In reality, when a leukemia victim goes into remission and is released from the hospital, that person continues to have frequent checkups. If there was a problem, it would have been detected right away. Danielle's doctors would have been keeping close tabs on her, so this situation couldn't happen. My advise: don't expect to read these books and come away with anything relavent to real-life medicine.

Text- * picture-*
The text in this book was great. It was also a moving book. The only thing I wanted was to say was a few thing about the BSC books: First 3 are bout the cover
1. Why does Becca have her ears peirced in this book if her parents wouldn't let Jessi get them until she was eleven?
2. Why in some books is Jessi really dark and others she is as light as the other members??
3. Every time I look at a cover the pictures are different. Sometimes the members look like boys they are so weird!
4. Why is Logan and Jessi the only members with a 'normal' family? and even Jessi the author makes such a big deal out of her being black that you dont think of her as normal.
Buts still, these are my fave series, so I like them anyway.

This book is AWESOME
I really like this book... yeah Ann might'n of got all the facts straight, but the plot was wonderful. I have been reading BSC books since I was seven, and they've never lost their charm. and I dont think they ever will. I have about 50-60 of them and I have read each one three times over!

~*BSC #95*~
I thought this book was well written, and I was pleased that finally Kristy has a serious love relationship. I have always found though that in reality by 8th grade, kids are much more experienced then what Ann portrays in the novels. If she is going to write about eighth graders, then if should be with material and content that has to do with eighth graders. Otherwise, I enjoyed the book. I thought it showed girls that they don't have to be pressured into a relationship if they're aren't ready, but most girls don't have the confidence that Kristy does to really go up to a boy that they have feelings for and tell him off the way she did. I also thought that the punishment that Kristy got was a little severe...the embaressment of getting "caught in the act" should have been punishment enough, but it was funny reading about all the ways Kristy tried to stay involved and keep sane.

Ann is still the best
Kristy+Bart=? was one of the best books i read. The Kristy was my favourite member and also i was going through the sort of problem she was so i bought it.
Basically Kristy and her friend Bart are best friends but when Bart starts to push to be more than friends Kristy doesn't know what to do.
When i reached the end i realised what i should do in my own situation. Ann had written the book so well i that i really felt i could do what Kristy had and face the boy.
If you enjoy the BSC series then read this book, it's well worth it. And trust me, if you have a simaler prolem she'll help you!

Really Great
Kristy + Bart =? was a really great story. It is about Kristy's friend Bart Taylor and how he wants their friendship to be "more than friends". Kristy isn't so sure that she wants their relationship to change so much. This is a really great story about something that can really happen. It was a good story because people canactually relate to it. I though this book was grea tand you should definetly read it!

REALLY GREAT
This book was quite good, the baby sitter's are fighting but you cannot always be perfect! Everything turns out great in the end as usual-still a good read!

The Best Mary-Anne Book!
Mary-Anne was one of the more appealing characters. I like the way she finally stood up to bossy, big mouthed Kristy and challenged Kristy on traveling abroad if she was planning to take a playground job in Stoneybrook. Armed camps square off -- it's Abby, Stacey and Kristy vs. Claudia and Mary-Anne. Don't worry, folks, it all gets sorted out in the end. Kristy in typical fashion runs off at the mouth and insults everybody. By the penultimate chapter, apologies are abound and the story is neatly concluded with everyone being friends again. (And yes, Abby, Stacey and Kristy DO travel abroad while the others remain stateside). A light, entertaining read.

Intriguing view on competition...
Mary Anne, who hates confrontation, is embroiled in a heated arguement over playground jobs. In the part where Kristy is arguing and tells Mary Anne to butt out, Logan shouldn't have butted in and snapped at Kristy. Mary Anne doesn't need Logan to fight her battles. If I were Mary Anne, I would have told him to butt out! Of course, Mary Anne's too polite for that, but I bet she was seething inside. It was good, though, that the BSC didn't let the arguement destroy their friendship and each one took responsibility for her part in the fight. That's why the BSC have a friendship that will last forever and ever...and a lifetime.

A Fun Read
This book is one of my top 5 favorite BSC books. It has a great amount of mystery and suspence. If you are interested in low-key witchcraft this is the BSC book for you!

"bad luck mystery?" don't let the boring title turn you off
...the earlier books in the series, say from 1 to about 20, are the funniest. they have a geniune, quirky humor that make them the most enjoyable to read. as the series went on, the humor wasn't there most of the time. and when it was, it seemed really different. i'm sure ann martin is still the author, though. she just wrote more realistically. this book, "mary ann and the bad luck mystery", is before the mystery series spin-off. it's very good. sometimes mary ann gets on my nerves for being so timid, but the things that happen in this book are a hoot. i love rereading it around halloween.

Whoooooooo
One of Ann's sort of fantasy books. I like the spooky set ups. pretty funny when Mary Anne crys. Why would any bad people send Mary Anne a bad luck charm? read this book to find out

I'm not spoiling anything, but it must be a person who hates Mary Anne, or her friends. Would it be involved with Mary Anne's boyfriend, Logan? Or is the sender jealous about the way Mary Anne's acting. You MUST read this book
