There are numerous piture books of Hawaii. Most of them intend to vividly illustrate the touristically 'paradiced' Hawaii. However, the pictures in this book, it seems to me, correctly illustrate the history of the Island of Kahoolawe as a bombing target of US military for a long time. Personally, these pictures inspired me so much that I could set another goal for the pictures I am taking.

This is a book about a girl who is fixing to become a secluded nun. Walter Hilton is a 13 Century Mystic who is teaching her how to be a Christian. The chapters are short and to the point. He teaches her to be a christian is a very simplistic manner.

This book is truly awesome and brings up many issues inwardly about your own christianity. It also answers many issues.

The fact that this is written in the 13century makes it more awesome, because modern man does not think in simplistic terms about what Christianity is truly all about.

The book kept both the attention of the kids but was interesting for adults. The adventure forces the reader to create images in your mind of each place in the book.

This is probably the most inviting, beautifully done, charming series of astrological books for children and their parents that I have seen. The illustrations are perfect and the text is meaningful and obviously written by a knowledgeable astrologer, with a great sense of humor to boot. Each booklet contains a generic Welcome to Zodiac Zone which introduces the reader to a brief history of astrology. (Little side squiggles unobtrusively teach, such as "The word zodiac comes from the ancient word for "circle of animals" or my favorite "Psst! Looking for predictions? Sorry. The best astrologers know that the stars don't make things happen--people do!") There is a colorful astrological map showing the 12 signs, glyphs and dates, 2 pages of planets and even a few sentences on elements and qualities, all done in a very easy to read, fun fashion, good information comprehensible to the young and their parents. I love this book, this was the first book I purchased, authored by Mark Hanson. The most of the material is challenging. A "Trout Towards Noon" is on the easy side, so start with that on. I found the accompaning cassette to be very useful. Mark plays the tune at half speed, which allows you play along at some speed. His verbal notes on the recording are very useful to.

This is a fabulous book for children of multi-cultural background. It is really important to develop the language skills of your child early on.
This book helps doing this in a fun and educational way.

I have been a Brave's fan since the late eighties watching the young guns loose close games by one or two runs, especially in 89 and 90. Scott and Leo team up to give us a highly entertaining behind the scenes look of a decade and more of one of the best pitching staff's in the history of baseball. This book is well written and is a must for any true baseball fan, particularly Brave's fans. Great book Scott and Leo!
