This book discusses EVERYTHING a consumer would want to know and more. Easy to read. Filled with knowledge about what BPD is, treatment, a special outstanding section for families - you name it, it is here. This book I know will further not only consumer's knowlege of the BPD but it is helpful for families as well. I believe clinicians will learn a great deal in regards to treatment.
This book is easily the best book out there for the BPD consumer. It is also the best book for BPD families and those that love the people who suffer this very painful disorder. The family section reads totally without stigma, is understanding of the consumer and contains information on things you can do to help. "Stop Walking on Eggshells" is a good book and very helpful but it contains some stigma and reads without the heart that this book has. "...Eggshells" just went down a peg in my opinion when this book came out, sorry to say as I advocated for that book for a long time. There is no blaming of the Borderline consumer in "New Hope..."
If you have the BPD or are a family member, this book is priceless. In many cases it is us who have to educate our mental health clinicians in order to be treated correctly. BPD is highly misunderstood in this society. This disorder is treatable and the information is here in this book.
The text is easy to read and is well organized. In my opinion, it's one of the better sources available on the subject of BPD.

I recommend this book for nurses who plan to go through the ED experience. This book will guide them through the difficult and trying times.
The "Pearls of Wisdom" Chapter is a definite treasure trove of experience that each RN can relate to.
To top it all, the book size fits a lab coat pocket so one can carry it all of the time or store it in a locker for that essential quick-glance.
New nurses will love the "pearls of triage wisdom" section. Experienced nurses will be delighted to finally have such a comprehensive listing of cultural considerations. The Post test feature is a great guide for self directed learners, and would also assist nursing managers in the evaluation of staff competency. The inclusion of humor in many of the illustrations created by John F. Aarne, (who happens to be Val's father) makes this publication not only a incredibly useful educational tool but also a nursing treasure.

I enjoy reading the Laura Fleming Mysteries since they are set in an area of the country that I'm familar with. Even though Byerly and Rocky Shoals are fictional, it isn't hard to recognize bits and pieces of local towns in those two towns. I'm seeing the familar in a different way then normal.
When Laura starts questioning the vendors about their relationships with the victim, she discovers that no one has a kind word to say about the deceased. When Maggie's table is trashed, Laura concludes that there is a connection between the vandalism and the homicide, both being done by insiders. Laura soon realizes that the killer will go to great lengths to obtain what he wants, including killing Maggie. It is up to Laura to identify him before he succeeds.
The Laura Fleming mysteries are some of the most whimsical and entertaining books on the market today. Toni L. P. Kelner captures the true meaning of community in a small southern town. Laura's literary quoting spouse adds comic relief as he serves as a counterpoint to the tension filled story line. They mystery is a mind challenger that is difficult to solve because of the long list of viable suspects. Mystery fans will have a jolly time with this well written charmer.
