Legend of the Red Wolf
Legend of the Red Wolf successfully combines elements of nature and Native American wisdom in a realistic story of conflict resolution. The author's teaching experience is evident in this story about family situations, art, animals and the environment, bullies, and problem solving. Tony, the main character, is a real kid with real problems who considers various ways of handling those problems and creates a workable solution. A fine addition to the growing field of Latino-authored books for children and young adults.

A heat-warming story about imagination, courage and peace
This story reminds me of one of my nephews and how he uses his imagination to create beautiful things. I would love for him to have copy of this book, so he can see how his imagination can be used to resolve conflict and promote peace. As Gandi once said: "if we are to reach real peace in this world, we shall have to begin with the children." The author has definitely sent this strong message to our children, Gandi would be proud.

The Legend of the Red Wolf
I read this book to my second graders at the beginning of the year and it fit perfectly with our conflict resolution unit. It deals with peer pressure, and how a young boy avoids violence and turns the situation into something positive. The use of art as a way to channel childrens' energy is a great lesson for us all.

I love this book!
I have purchased a number of aromatherapy books over the past year or so and taken out about every one my local library holds. This book far exceeds them all for practical, accesible knowledge. They make it fun and start you out with oils that most people can afford. Some of the books I have list recipes, supposedly for beginners, that use 10 drops of rose absolute, jasmine and the more expensive or unusual oils. That's all well and good, but for someone just getting into aromatherapy, they aren't likely to spend... $$$ for a 1/4 oz. bottle of rose EO.

This book is easy to understand, the recipes are easy to make and easy to enjoy and the information provided is good. They start out with oils that are affordable and easily found, but also present special oils each month, like jasmine, frankinsence, and rose, that one can "move up to".

The only thing I wish they had made more clear or stressed more was about applying oils neat. Some of the recipes aren't clear about that and for someone who is just starting, they may not realize that there aren't a lot of oils that you want to use neat due to their strength.

Anyway, great book! I love it.

Perfect for Beginners and Useful Long Afterwards
Paula and Judi have compiled an incredible introduction for someone new to aromatherapy. The book is so easy to follow and read, and the blends are so easy to make and use. In addition, the blends in this book are timeless. You won't outgrow this book. What I liked the best about the blends is you see results immediately. To top it off, it's one of the most beautiful books I've seen. Great on the coffeetable, a great conversation piece, and forever in use. Keep it handy!

Seasons of Aromatherapy
Seasons of Aromatherapy by Paula M. Bousquet and Judith Fitzsimmons is a joy! This book feels like an invitation from an old friend to go exploring. I have been borrowing a copy for much too long...TODAY I AM BUYING MY OWN! Thanks!

A BOOK THAT NEVER SEEMS TO GROW OLD!
I read Molly Saves the Day for the first time when I was 9 years old. I'm now 18, and can never seem to tire of this book. Molly McIntire and her friends Linda and Susan seem more like real people and less like fictional characters in the book. Molly has her fear of swimming underwater, Susan hates canoeing, and Linda cnfides that she's afraid of bugs. Molly shows fear at first in the book, but when her whole team manages to get captured during the color war, she and Susan manage to save the day. I recommend this book to anyone who is a fan of The American Girls Collection--this one is an EXCELLENT read!

Terrific reading with your child
Of all the American Girls, Molly's our favorite and Molly Saves the Day our favorite Molly book. My six year old recognized that Molly, Linda and Susan, while away together at sleep-away camp, each had fears that they were forced to try to overcome. Molly is a very well-rounded character, and the fact that she is somewhat overly competitive (this shows up clearly during the camp color-wars) only makes her more realistic. She is nonetheless very likeable. Beyond Molly's character, however, my daughter simply found the book very exciting.

Molly Saves the Day
This was a very inspirational book. It teaches a lot of good things like team work and facing your fears. I read this book in the 5th grade and still love it! I'm in the 10th grade now!

Broad zilla -- warning laughter may cause incontinence
Sex, drugs, scandal, breakdown, pigeons... an alternate universe altogether. This is so far out there is is best taken with burbon. If you are a Hiiasan, Barry, Hunter S fan this book can't steer you wrong. Valerie F. de Daulles must write more! Very strong, hilarious and anomalous content.

this book is so sassy from the word go
The fun never ends when reading Velkro. The author Valerie has quite the imagination. This is a book that once you pick it up you can't put it down till you have completed it. Mitzi is the woman every woman wants to be and Hugh Jorgen is the man every man wants to be. Reading this book I thought I had died and gone to heaven. I was so sorry to have finished it. I wanted it to go on forever.

What a ride!!!!!
RARELY do I laugh-out-loud when I am reading a novel... but I did so more than once when reading this remarkable debut novel from Ms. de Daulles. This book has everything.... scandal, intrigue, murder, drugs, incest, zombies, spaceships (yes... spaceships), trains falling from overpasses (just try not to think about THAT the next time you drive under one), cross-dressing, an evil twin, and, of course, "raw, jackhammer" sex. Oh... and did I mention there is a surprise ending. Well there is!! Ms. de Daulles has created a cast of characters so vivid, so memorable, so funny, you will come to think of them as the family you WISH you were born into! Read this book!!! And enjoy the ride!! Congratulations Ms. deDaulles... Jacqueline Susann would be proud!!

Finally some truth about the struggles of being single
For everyone who has ever struggled with some of the hidden battles of singlehood I would highly recommend this book. It is very straightforward and honest in the emotions that it brings to the mind of its reader. I found that the authors were very vunerable in sharing thier own experiences as singles. The book is balanced in that it deals with emotional challenges as well as looking into some deeper psychological explanations as to why some people may be having a hard time finding contentment as individuals. I really enjoyed the variety of methods/excerises used to help guide the reader into deeper understanding of the various topics presented. I would highly recommend it to anyone who is single especially Christians singles.

Pratical Help!!
This book was such a blessing to me.... It was pratical and gave many scenerios, insights and examples of how to have victory in your singleness. What I enjoyed most about this book is that it used many biblical principles and it was easy to read! I highly recommend this book to anyone that is searching for that inner peace and need directions as to how to walk in your singleness. Thank you Valerie and Jermone for allowing God to use you!!!

Worth the price - and More!
This book is outstanding, from cover to cover. When I purchased this book, I was only expecting to learn more about ministry to singles. But, Valerie Clayton provides excellent insight and counsel on topics such as: forgiveness, bitterness, self-esteem, perfectionism, betrayal, grudges, feelings of being trapped, etc. This book not only relates to singles, but to every Christian.

Last, but not least, I recommend this book because it is thoroughly Biblical. Rather than just having the appearance of being "Christian", and sprinkling the script with a few proof texts once in awhile, Valerie Clayton's genuine faith and confidence in God are evident throughout. She believes that Christ can truly make a difference in people's lives.

great book
In this book, Kit Kittredge is living during the great depression in the 1930's. She and her best friend, Ruthie, get into a fight one day and don't speak to each other. Kit has to take care of her Uncle Hendrick who is grumpy and rude and has a dog that is as mean as he is. At the end, all works out fine for Kit, and she realizes that it is not the worst Christmas ever.

Kit's Surprise
Kit's Surprise is my favorite American Girl Book! The setting is nineteen thirty four in Cincinatti. Kit's dad has lost his job and her family is struggling to have enough money to pay their bills. Kit is highly discouraged because she is asked to care for her nasty uncle. He always has a list of jobs ready for Kit. She becomes even more sad because she and her best friend Ruthie get into a huge fight. Can Kit find a way to brighten up the holidays? Read this book to find out!

a great read
Kit's Surprise quickly became one of my favorite books about Kit when I read it the first time. Easily the best of the first three books about Kit, the story tells about Kit's first Christmas with her father unemployed.
Kit, like the other American Girls, has plans for a great Christmas--but she knows that there will not be many presents under the tree. Then Kit and Ruthie overhear Ruthie's father talking to Kit's parents regarding the Kittredges' mortgage. Mr. Smithens tells Kit's parents that the bank will foreclose on the mortgage if the Kittredges don't catch up on their payments.
Then kIt finds herself caring for grumpy Uncle Hendrick and his dog Inky. When she gets home for the night, she ends up having a fight with her best friend Ruthie over Kit's pride. Kit begins to feel that this Christmas will be the worst, with her best friend not talking to her, her Uncle bossing her around, and the bank threatening to take the Kittredges house. But, as a result, Kit finds hope where she least expects it.
The third book about Kit Kittredge helped develop all the characters better, and Kit's story is a great one.

The Oxford Hachette French Dictionary

Outstanding reference work
This is everything a bilingual dictionary should be. Simply the best French/English dictionary out there. I'm really impressed.

AN ABSOLUTE MUST-HAVE!
This is the only French dictionary you will ever need. It is so thorough, it's unbelievable. I found words that I couldn't even find in my English Random House or Merriam Webster dictionary - amazing! Including a plethora of slang expressions, as well.

A SUPERLATIVE DICTIONARY
The OXFORD HACHETTE bilingual dicttioary is a superlative work. I am using the 1997 edition and it serves me well as a language enthusiast and a translator. It provides many, many different examples of translations, always easy to find and in the idiomatic language. In the French-English section for instance, the development given under the word TEMPS is just oustanding. One learns new ways of saying things: "Ils sont cruels, témoin le massacre de tout un village." - "They are cruel, as evidenced by the massacre of an entire village." This was interesting: "They have been badly serviced by their advisors" -"Les conseillers ne leur ont pas été très utiles." The various encyclopedic features such as the subject and grammar boxes are very useful. One would have liked a more North American approach, or even Canadian, but that does not distract from the overall quality. It is interesting to find a word such as DÉPANNEUR (convenience store), while one cannot find GUIGNOLÉE or BANC DE NEIGE. It is a modern dictionary, with equivalents given for email (one slight mistake there... MESSAGE PRÉCÉDENT given as NEXT) and such things. Verbs, model letters, etc. One would have liked the use of colour, but the dictionary is still well presented. I have used the Harrap's Shorter and I have the Collins Robert on CD-ROM. This is equal to any of them, it is perhaps even superior. Do not hesitate to buy it.

Samantha Saves the Day
When Samantha stays at Piney Point with her family, she never dreams what will happen. Her mother died many years ago, but she always loved to spend time at Piney Point with her friends just like Samantha. But when she finds her mother's old sketchbook, she becomes interested. Where did her mom draw all the pictures of Samantha and her father, who also died, when she was a baby? Trying to understand her past, Samantha and her two cousins go to Teardrop Island, the place where the mystery pictures were drawn. Their grandma forbids them to go, but they go anyway. But when they get stuck on the island, they get scared and realize they shouldn't have gone. I liked this book, but it was more of a little-kid book than I expected it to be!
