Romancing The Stone
Most books which present collections of art objects treat the subject as that: an object. Emphasis is put on value or history. This book treats stones as a source of inspiration. Rosenblum takes individual objects and explains what he sees in them and how they effected his life as well as his artwork. He infuses the art of collecting stones with the original intent of the Chinese scholars who began the practice. The value he places on the stones are not so much monetary but how they speak to him on an individual basis. This book complements "Worlds Within Worlds", the first book about Rosenblums collection. That book explained technical and historical data, this one humanizes the collection. An excellent book, a great addition to the genre of viewing stones, suiseki, scholar stones, etc.
Art Psychotherapy in Groups: Between Picture and Words

This book is a must for art therapists new and old!
This book is a wonderful entry into the world of groups that specifically use art therapy as the primary modality, altering the group leadership and group dynamics from the traditional group approach. These authors clearly explain how and why. The authors cover a wide spectrum of topics and discuss the intricate dilemmas of leading art therapy groups from the basics to the more advanced clinical and psychodyanmic issues that arise from the art therapy component. In particular they brilliantly address the more advanced issues that arise in art therapy groups regarding the movement between voice and image. This book is convincing, interesting to read and well written with pertinent topics for both introductory and advanced art therapists who lead groups. I use it for my art therapy group training graduate class and it has received high reviews from the students.

the gardener as artist
Artists in Their Gardens is a book for the gardener who loves the garden as a means of self-expression. In the ten gardens described, each of us will find things we love, and perhaps things which disturb us. I love the austerity of potter Ann HIrondelle's garden, the zaniness of Lewis and Little's work, the majesty of Lee Kelly's monuments. I could never live with the kitsch of Leter and Barton, yet it is fascinating to see their artistic vision as developed in plants and plastic. The sections on The Artist's Eye helped me see how to translate these visions to my own garden. After all, in my own garden, I am the artist! This book encourages me to be daring in shaping my own garden vision.

Imparative for lovers of the so called "free jazz"
This is absolutely the best piece of literature written about this music. It moves well beyond just another "documentary" piece, and gets inside the lives of the great musicians that create this music. This book is definately As Serious As Your Life!!!
Así es Josefina, una niña americana (The American Girls Collection)

A GREAT TRANSLATION OF A WONDERFUL BOOK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I've enjoyed the American Girls Collection books for years, and was thrilled to see that Josefina's books from the American Girls Series were printed in Spanish as well as English. Jose Moreno does an excellent job translating Josefina's books into Spanish--the story stays the same as if you were reading the original English version--nothing is lost. This book, like the English one, tells the story of how Josefina's family copes with the death of Josefina's mother, and how Tia Dolores comes to stay with them. Even more funny is the story of Tia Dolores's piano, which sounds even more funny in the Spanish version than it does in English. I hope that one day the rest of the books in the American Girls series--the adventures of Felicity, Kirsten, Addy, Samantha, Kit, and Molly--will one day be available in Spanish as well.

FAB-O!!!
I loved this book. Barbie looks "tres chouette" in all of her outfits. There are some pictures where Barbie looks exactly like Samantha Stevens from the TV show, BEWITCHED. And there are times where she looks a lot like Mary Tyler Moore. All of the outfits were so carefully crafted and assembled. I love how they use to ahve little metal zippers for the dresses. Now, that's quality!!! It's a fantastic source for fashion inspiration.
