An excellent and valued addition to my beading bookshelf!!
I bought this book after looking at it for about 20 seconds. I was not disappointed. Its' main topic is making tassels out of beads, however in the course of describing, making, and displaying her creations in this book, there arise a lot of different and unusual tricks, techniques and ways with beads. This book is great if you want to make beaded tassels; if you work with beads and need some new ideas and inspirations; or, if the creative well is running dry and you need to graze in some new territory. I do work with beads in peyote, sculptural peyote, Ndebele, brickstitch, squarestitch and wired floral work. I found the instructions in this book for the beading techniques quite good, however, if you have no experience in the above techniques and intend to learn the techniques from this book I don't think that will work. You do need prior knowledge with at least peyote stitch and brick stitch to make many, but not all of the tassels described. Other than that, which is more of a heads up than a critisism, I would highly recommend this book to any and all beadworkers and creative persons everywhere. An excellent and valued addition to my beading bookshelf.

Lots of great ideas for family vacations
I really enjoyed reading the book The Best Bargain Family Vacations in the USA. At the advice of this book, my family and I just went to Family Camp at the Centerville Mills YMCA Camp in Bainbridge Township, Ohio, over Memorial Day weekend 1999. We arrived at 10 a.m. Saturday and left at noon Monday. The $75 per person fee included six meals, two nights lodging in a dorm style lodge room, a lot of horseback riding on lovely trails (they have over 150 acres of land), canoeing in the little lake, making tie dyed t shirts, archery, a hay ride, a campfire with s'mores, a night hike, other nature hikes, and swimming in the pool. My son loved shooting bb guns and fishing - the little lake is stocked with bluegills. My daughter loved the Rodeo Games, and, of course, the trail rides. I am looking forward to trying some of the other "Best Bargain Family Vacations in the U.S.A." - this first one we tried was a real winner. Great book!

A must have for anyone interested in Scotland's birds
Scotland is a small country but with a long history of ornithology and a varied birdlife. Read this book to find out everything you needed to know about Scotland's avifauna. The book describes Scotland's geography, ecology and ornithological history. It also discusses trends in bird populations and conservation. The bulk of the book is the systematic list covering every species recorded in Scotland up to the mid eighties. This list a a delight to read and ypu will keep going back to it to discover more about Scottish birds from the tiny Goldcrest to the huge White-tailed Eagle.

Hooked
Wow, This was the series of books that got me hooked on historic romance! Mrs. Sherwood's knowledge of history, culture and geography, not to mention sociology, blended with her uncanny talent at spinning an intriguing plot with very well defined characters will have you reading faster and faster to try and find out what will happen next.I wish she would write more!

A History of Infant Feeding
If you ever wondered about the history of bottle feeding, here is a good text. Valerie Fildes is a nurse, a Doctor of Biology, and this book places her as a medical historian. From earliest history to the present, the ways in which babies have been fed -- and what each eras "experts" had to say -- is chronicled. This is a necessary text for anyone who works in the field of infant feeding and/or breastfeeding. Its an interesting read for anyone who is curious about infant feeding throughout history. This book is out of print, and should be reprinted in my opinion. It sells used in various venues. Worth the money.

On the Road Again--in a fun, new way!
Would it be a dream vacation, or a nightmare on wheels? Alice Bristol wasn't at all sure about it when her husband, George, came home from work, announcing that his boss wanted them to "hit the road" in a company-provided super RV. Alice came equipped with middle-age mood swings, and George suddenly turned into a history expert as they headed down the Lewis and Clark Expedition route.
In typical husband-wife closely confined quarters, it was not all a bed of roses, but they soon found great delight in the people they met on the way, as well as the beauty of the USA. There are some "mishaps" from "human errors" they both make, but the whole adventure takes on a strange turn when the people they meet seem to mimc the people involved in the original Lewis and Clark trip. It is almost like a road trip into the Twilight Zone!
If you are planning a trip of your own, this is a "must read" to prepare you for the experience. If you don't plan such a trip, by all means live the excitement vicariously through George and Alice in "The Bristol Expedition." You're in for the ride of your life!

"Must" reading for all museum and gallery professionals.
Compiled by the collaborative efforts of Valerie Dorge and Sharon Jones, Building An Emergency Plan: A Guide For Museums And Other Cultural Institutions provides concise and practical "how to" information to help professionals develop site-specific plans to protect museum and art institute visitors, staff, premises, and collections in the event of an emergency. Building An Emergency Plan is an guide manual taking readers step-by-step through the process of devising an emergency plan tailored to his or her specific institution. Dorge and Jones advocate a team approach and outline the responsibilities of the director, the emergency preparedness manager, and departmental team leaders. The text is "user friendly" in format and includes "Questions to Consider" and Suggested Exercises" that aid the reader to identify and address their institution's particular needs. Building An Emergency Plan is enhanced further with emergency preparedness maters such as evacuation procedures, supply and equipment lists, and action checklists. While Building An Emergency Plan cannot avoid the occupance of disasters to the institution, it can go a long, long way toward mitigating the adverse consequences of them and facilitate the return of operations to normal as quickly as possible.

Excellent book!
Excellent book to read for people who are concerned with the approach and values in psychotherapy.
Carl Rogers reviewed many of his heart-felt issues in the subject matter.
The "client-centered" approach in psychotherapy cannot be ignored if we do believe that human being is more than just one class of object in the study of science.
Get one and find it out yourself! Easy reading and extremely insightful!
