Bruce Coville's Alien Visitors
"Bruce Coville's Alien Visitors" combines a wonderful blend of science fiction, fantasy, and alien stories all in one. It tells past, present and future stories of far away worlds and extraterestrial happenings right here on Earth. For example, you'l hear a story about a boy who gets a job at a local diner working the graveyard shift and ends up meeting some of the weirdest aliens in the galaxy. Or you'll hear about space pioneers who start a settlement on Mars only to find out that some mysterious virrus is turning them into the very aliens they are looking for. If you are in to science fiction or anything about alien life on other planets then this is most certainly the book for you!

Great pictures, practical information, and background info.
This was the only Amazon guide I found which really covered the whole area. The background information was easy to read, fascinating, and written by genuine experts - senior scientists, field researchers, members of the U.N working group on indigenous peoples, and by indigenous people themselves. The practical information covers, and extensively reviews tour operators and jungle lodges in all the main Amazon countries. The beautiful photo essay captures the mystery and majesty of the region. Good for on the road or at home reading.

Authentic, historically accurate details, entertaining.
Captain Blackman is an American soldier in Vietnam who is seriously wounded. As he drifts in and out of consciousness he hallucinates back in time, as an African-American solider in each of America's wars from 1775 to 1975. John Williams is a superb craftsman whose novel is as engaging as it is original. The blending of fantasy and history is superlative and his message as entertaining as it is compelling. Captain Blackman is authentic, accurate, and detailed in its background details, compelling, appealing, and completely entertaining in its story.

Review of Star Trek: Captain's Table
I have read over 100 Star Trek books and I can say for certain that the Captain's Table books are some of the best. They are six different stories about six Starfleet Captains: James T. Kirk, Jean-Luc Picard, Benjamin Sisko, Kathryn Janeway, Christopher Pike, and MacKenzie Calhoun. Each story is quite fascinating and as you read them they are tied together by an overall plot about the mystery of the Captain's Table. Some of them do have adult material however, so I wouldn't let children read them. The Captain's Table books are a very fun Star Trek read!

Great depth of information--Superb animation!
Visually stunning! This exploration of the Cell is a delightful feast for the eyes. From beginning to end, the subject is presented in a way that is totally engaging. I found myself absorbed for hours on end, pointing and clicking my way to a fascinating understaning of the Cell.

Buy this book! It is worth the money.
This was an assigned textbook for a class I was taking at APU (Intervention through Consultation). I found it to be extremely helpful with loads of great ideas. Some of the ideas outlined may seem a bit outrageous and silly to some people (a few of my classmates.) However, once the ideas are implemented you can see how well they work out. There are some approaches in this book that are quite innovative in some ways.
The authors provide many case examples to illustrate their 6 methods. The text is easy to read and really quite interesting.
I plan to give this book as a Christmas gift to a cousin entering a teaching program!

The Charles Dickens Collection
Which home does not have Dickens on their shelves? We have sought to have our children learn from the great thinkers of all times and truly Dickens is one the greatest! This collection is a must. Not only is it Dickens, but Alex Jennings is fantastic as he reads with such life and vigor! It is nice and relaxing to let him do the reading...his example challenges the children to want to read LIKE him! Plus, you will find that you can expose your children to the great works of literature while you are busy on the go! We have used these tapes during the holidays for A Christmas Carol as we were busily taking care of all the "have-to-do's." Dickens added spice to our holidays. Plus, in this collection you also get to enter into the world of little Oliver Twist...my children wanted to adopt him! David Copperfield quickly became another part of our lives as well! Do not miss this classic collection...it will become part of your family as you introduce them to the great thoughts of one of the greatest thinkers of all times!

A lost childhood
Alex Saranin's story is a vivid description of the first lost generation of Soviet Russia, millions of children lost their parents into the civil war, collectivization and other soviet human mills and it's aftermath. The great suffering endured by them and the waste of lives and souls is great evidence of these terrible whirling years into which a whole generation was engulfed.
