A Must-Have for every diver's bookshelf
Every diver owes it to himself to understand the problem of decompression sickness. Brylske has done a masterful job of dissecting this complex topic and presents the issues in an easily understood and practical format. I've read this book twice, and will probably read it several more times.

Outstanding Book for vb.net Beginner to start with
Simple, practical and it really work out for beginner to get into the .net world with good understanding. I think that it is good for the adcadmic institue to use this book for .net beginner class too.
Great Book for Beginners in the .NET world
As an experienced programmer in the IBM mainframe world I found David's book just the right blend of theory, humor, and practical examples. The code examples are clean and easy to follow and work! The extra attention to the setup of IIS, MSDE and WebMatrix was especially helpful. This is a great book to get started with ASP.NET technologies using a great tool "WEBMATRIX" . This book is for beginners so experienced ASP programmers will not find it advanced enough. And it is not a web HTML/CSS book....

I am very pleased with getting this book
This book not only contains Black Canary's Golden Age appearences, but also includes some of her Silver Age appearences too. Very nice volume that covers a lot of Canary's early history. Like the fact her first appearence she was described as being a villian, although she stole from criminals only. Then she bacame a hero fighting, early on, with Johnny Thunder (Who should get his own volume to. Email DC and say you want one!) Canary then went on to do a solo gig in her own feature in Flash comics. This volume even shows her team up with Starman - which now in DC history is when Canary had an afrair with Starman.
So if you want to find out about the early adventures of Diana Drake, the first Black Canary (Diana lance, now appearing in Bird of Prey, is her daughter) then buy this volume!

I couldn't put it down!
Adventurous reading and one that's hard to put down. A detective is commissioned to find a missing person and instead gets involved in a case that's intriguing and overbearing. He finds himself involved too deeply in a den of evil where there is almost no escape.
On a modern voyage to hell, Jeff only realizes the seriousness of his commission when it is too late. The ending gives us a lot to think about and with a question about the authenticity of the church.
This is not anti-religious but many questions pop into one's mind about the legitimacy of many things.

Wow, this is not to be missed!
Chosen Vessel starts out as a simple story about a mother in search of her lost son in New Orleans and Jeff, although reluctant to accept the assignment, embarks upon an adventure that leads him to the depths of hell.
Jeff who has his own issues in dealing with things he has done in life is sent on a mission which would be difficult for any human to accomplish.
With a definite message for all of us to take stock in ourselves and respect faith, Mr. Cuoco sets forth some provoking examples as to how we need to examine our own values.
This is a mysterious adventure from beginning to end, gradually enfolding us into Jeff's mind and encouraging us to plunge deeper into the unknown and fight evil.
What may seem like a sleeper packs a powerful punch! Look for this one to be snapped up by some television or film agent to be turned into a screen vehicle.
This is a great story not to be missed and a true page turner!

A Price Guide for the Rest of Us!
Now this is what I call a Price Guide. One that takes a realist look at what comicbooks are truly sellling for in today's marketplace.
I also recommend Malloy's American Games: Comprehensive Collector's Guide, and Robert J. Sodaro's Kiddie Meal Collectibles (on which Malloy is a contributor).

The Best Comicbook Price List on the Market
If you are looking for realistic, buying and/selling prices on your comicbook collection (or on comics you are wishing to purchase), then this is the price guide for you. Malloy has a solid handle on the pricing structure of the industry, and his prices are very much in line with what is going on in the marketplace. Rather than pricing comics as what he wishes they were priced, Malloy goes the extra mile to learn what they are being priced at across the country. Also, you might want to check out his board game prices in American Games: Comprehensive Collector's Guide, or his fast food toy prices in Kiddie Meal Collectibles.

Terrific!
This book is an insightful, intelligent view into the history of a people in continual state of exile. It transcends their history from before the American Revolution (and the Cuban contributions to it) to modern day tussles with Castro's regime. I highly recommend it to anyone who wishes to broaden their knowledge of a culturally diverse and colorful people who have contributed much to the United States and the world. A "Must Read" in my opinion!
Moving and informative
"Cubans in America" is a book detailing the history, culture, and character of the Cuban people and their contributions to American life in all aspects, from politics to entertainment. It's a book which inspired in me a great appreciation for the United States, how this land is truly a melting pot, with a detailed look at how this particular group of people have influenced and contributed to its culture. "Cubans in America" also chronicles the history of Cuba, the people who have had the most effect on her destiny, from colonial times to the Cuban Missile Crisis, and the modern day exile movements, including the Elián González saga. Most enjoyable in the book are also all of the photo captions and facts about famous Cuban Americans, such as actor Desi Arnaz and New York Yankees pitcher Orlando Hernández. A terrific book that shows one of the many origins of what is the fabric of the United States while providing an excellent history of our Caribbean neighbours.

Hits you where you're not looking
Mr. Stein shatters the notion that there aren't any real and direct writers left, who use their eccentricity to push you around. Not only does he startle the mind, tickle the funny bone and pull out a hair or two, he also, when you least expect it, pulls down his pants to show you what's there. Although I think Dark Optimism, as a title, misses the beat, the book - with its flash pieces of rythmnic prose and exquisite tenderness - is something for those days that you want to look out the window, and see what's outside in full. I look forward to his next work...
Captivating Sucinct Prose
This book is well worth the read and re-read that the amazingly layered poetry/prose inspires. Dark Optimism also has short shorts - "flash fiction", which the author is a master of. You will enjoy this book even more the second time through. The small bits it is composed of hang like jewels of dew on a spider web and intice you to laugh and cry and awake in recognition of the spiritual in the mundane. The only similiar book I have read in the past 20 years that reaches this level of excellence is translated from the Japanese and called Palm of the Hand Stories. Dark Optimism is equally compelling.

"Welcome to Potter's Bluff."
These words, spoken by the anonymous killers roaming the night around Potter's Bluff, a quaint sea side community, are more prophetic than one would think. Chelsea Quinn Yarbro's novelization of the screenplay by the screenwriters of Alien, Dan O' Bannon and Ronald Shussett, joins a very select few books that are actually superior to the film's they adapt into print (Orson Scott Card's The Abyss and Dennis Etchison's The Fog are two others). You can feel the damp chill of the fog as it swirls around those unfortunate souls caught in Potter's Bluff after nightfall. As the bodies stack up the town's sheriff digs deeper and deeper into the mystery, but the answer he finds may cost him his sanity. Highly recommended.
This is a great book!!!
I got this book in a yardsale a few years ago and just recently decided to read it. This book is fantastic. Filled with exitement and surprise, it is a book for those who like a scary tale in the dark. In the book the sheriff of a small town is trieing to find out the cause of strangers found burned to death left and right. The answer is more surprising than the act.

Oh, how my son LOVES this book!
My boy was only slightly interested in machinery until we got this book. Now he's pointing out Garbage Trucks, Fire Engines, Diggers, and Road Rollers everywhere we go, and giving the corresponding cheer "gobble, gobble; race, race, racing; dig, dig, digging; roll, roll, rolling."
This book has a musical rhythm that makes it fun to read, and the illustrations are gorgeous.
A winner with any machine-obsessed toddler
My two year old son adores this book and it's a lot of fun reading it aloud to him. Each page describes a piece of equipment - eg diggers, helicopters, rubbish trucks, cranes, bulldozers - and how hard they are working ALL DAY LONG. The language is really descriptive and captures the noises that the machines make. The words on each page have been laid out to reinforce the job that the machines do too. The illustrations are bright and appealing. This book is a definite winner with any child who likes noisy machines (and what toddler doesn't?!).
