Excellent Introduction to Jung
This edition includes exerpts from many of the works recently published by Princeton. Gave me some very valuable direction toward the volumes I was most interested in pursuing (The 20 Princeton volumes are well documented in the Bibliography). It's always valuable to read the original author rather than his disciples (or detractors). Favorite quotes: "I for my part prefer the precious gift of doubt, for the reason that it does not violate the virginity of things beyond our ken." (p. 544) and "Paradox is one of our most valued spiritual possessions." (p. 553)

Forever Jung
True, Freud may claim his place as the father of modern psychology and psychoanalysis, but his protege and rebellious son Jung has developed his own unique ideas about the unconcious and about man himself. Expecially when compared to Freud, Jung's writing is boistrous, passionately scholarly and even exciting. His synthesis of alchemical and religious symbol into the theory of collective unconscious has been enormously influential on psychology, and is much more interesting than Freud's often-tedious theoretical work. If anything, he is far more fun to read than Freud ever was, and any reader looking to escape his narrow Oedipal strangulation should find Jung refreshing and engrossing reading. If for no other reason than his historical significance, Jung is also a great read. Well worth the time and effort

Look At This Book of Crooks!
One more excellent volume from Paradox Press! In this book, you learn about criminals from history, from small-time hoods to organized crime. This is the volume that demonstrates just how crime does not pay!

Little Criminals Big Crimes
All these Big Books are simply marvelous. The contributing artists number in the fifties so the artwork never becomes boring. Factoid books has done a remarkable job of fusing top rate artwork with extemely accurate short tales or biographies. For anyone interested in the less successful side of crime or for more obscure matters like the midget member of the Gallo gang this book is a goldmine......the whole series is fantastic popcorn for the mind....hard to put down till you are finished.....read one and rush right out and buy another....I have all fifteen and reread them often

A GREAT BOOK ON AN IMPORTANT SUBJECT
THE BOOK WAS VERY EDUCATIONAL, I THINK ANY ONE WHO IS IN SCHOOL DOING A REPORT ON THE VEITNAM WAR, OR ANYONE WHO HAS QUESTIONS ON THE SUBJECT SHOULD READ THIS.I LOVED IT.

Very good book!
I also was in Phuoc Vinh, the very same base camp that Carl Bradfield talks about. However, I was there about a year later and the base camp was in very good shape (thanks to people like Carl).

My experiences in Vietnam were not like Carl's at all. And I'm very thankful for that. I must have hit it just right. I arrived in Jan. of 67 and missed out on all that "fun" of setting up the base camp and dealing with the VC who were being displaced by that action. Then I left for home at the end of Dec. 67, and heard on the news about the Tet offensive that I also just missed out on.

Well, sometimes it's good to miss out!

Highly Recommended!
The author has integrated several different forms of body therapies, including Japanese shiatsu and anma, Chinese tuina, and Western osteopathic, physiotherapeutic, and therapeutic massage, and bodywork techniques. Beginning with a concise summary of the history of shiatsu in Japan, he describes the Oriental perceptions of cosmology (yin/yang, five elements), physiology (qi, blood, jing, shen, jin, ye, zangfu), anatomy (including illustrations of channels and acupoints), examination, and diagnosis. Part Three describes preparation for practice, including descriptions of finger and hand techniques, Western anatomical markers, and preparation of the treatment area. The treatment method presented in the text is a basic meridian-oriented full-body shiatsu/anma treatment, designed for general relaxation and supplementation of the entire body. With clear illustrations and photos on nearly every page of the book, this work is very informative and useful.

Outstanding Instruction for any level
Hi, this book is wonderful! Written with the intent of combining the educational text book information but including pictures, diagrams and language that would enable one with no formal experience learn some shiatsu massage skills. I am working towards my massage therapy license and this book is a gem. I unfortunately bought this book from a store a and am kicking my-self for not going through Amazon.com, because I would have saved money. Oh well live and learn... ;-)

A fantastic book
This is really the definitive book for novice birdwatchers in India, and remains very useful even as you grow more experienced. Its small size makes it much more portable and thus useful for field trips. The illustrations in the new edition are simply lovely and improve tremendously over those in the earlier editions. A must buy.

An absolute must for all bird watchers in India.
Beautiful hand drawn illustrations, detailed characteristics, habitat, calls and everything else you need to know to identify a bird. A real work of art.

Always a place in my heart
Of all the stories my father read to me as a child, this was my favorite. Its endearing story of self-discovery is timeless, and not to mention quite humorous for a six year old boy. It reminds me of a time far less complicated and will thus always hold a special place of affection for me. This was the Catcher in the Rye of my Elementary years. I would highly recommend this to anyone with children looking for quite simply a flat out good story to read them that they will enjoy.

A Wonderful Tale
The Breman Town Musicians is a simple story that involves setting goals and team work. It has two things that children love, music and animals. What a combination!

As a 17 year childcare veteran, I highly recommmend this book. Kids today can use all the inspiration they can get. A great way to learn is to read. I read this book to my daughter when she was a child. Now I am getting a new copy for my grand daughter.

Like it was
I lived in Poland a few years after the wall fell, but it hadn't changed that much yet from the period depicted in the book. When I read this book not long ago I could picture it all once again. Very vivid. Some of the things the author describes were similar to my experiences. I really related to this book. It was very interesting, entertaining, and humorous. Thoughtful and fun to read. A great book!

Now I have to read all his work!
The interest this book garnered due its nomination for Thw Whitbread Award was well deserved. My only disappointment was that it didn't win.
Set during the 80's it charts the rise of Solidarity. Begging the question 'Remind me, so who are the good guys again?'
This is a very emtional, personal journey. I laughed all the way through but it has moments of such poignancy I was very mved too. Not in that fake kind of maudlin may, but the real kind of feeling; real people, live, traumas and laughter.
Put down everything else and read this now.
