Adventures in Chattahoochee Hollar
Adventures in Chattahoochee Hollar is a delightful tale of the adventures and misadventures of Travis, a young fox that stays in one scrape after another! Ms. Foxleys lighthearted, Christian approach to every day problems of the modern family is excellent reading for young and old alike! The youngsters will enjoy the fox family antics while the adults will relate to the lessons and morals taught thru the trials that the fox family experience.

The book is fast paced and kept me on the edge of my seat until I finished each chapter! The reading is truly and "experience"! I would recommend this book to anyone!

Photography as Poetry
I saw this book alongside more than fifty kindred at the Denali Visitor Center. We chose this for our table display book because it alone showed Alaska as the word itself defines - "The Great Land." This is the book Robert Service would have chosen to illustrate his poetry about "the great, big, broad land 'way up yonder...the beauty that thrills me with wonder, it's the stillness that fills me with peace."

If you can't go, you are the poorer for it, but this book will enrich your eyes and your spirit.

Photography capturing natures multitude of wonders
This book offers the serenity and solitude of the outdoors, seen by few and unexperienced by many. The inside passage is the untouched adventure that the photographer has magnificently demonstrated by the composition of the moment! Incredible, to the point of allowing the reader to share the feeling of the experience.

Alice's Adventures
The editor's discription of this product is all wrong. This is a play based of from Caroll's works.

In this one-act fantasy play Alice's Adventure Under Ground by Christopher Hampton, has a style of surrealism playing with the imagination of a child. This play is based off and is adopted from the writings of Lewis Carroll. This leads it to have a logic all of its own, and presented towards the nonrealistic side of life.

This takes place in a fireside room in Christ Church where Lewis Carroll sits in loneliness to his thoughts. He looks up to a mirror where he sees Alice inside of it for a second before she disappears and he sets up tea. A moment or so later there is a knock and Alice enters the room. He proceeds to tell her stories that draw her into some of tales of Wonderland and as this happens, he and three others become all of the characters Alice would encounter in that strange land of logic. There is no costume change, just physical performances transform them from classy 1860s people to the bizarre people of unique logic.

Although the stories are presented from Alice's adventures of both books, the setting remains inside the room and it is though the imagination the transports us beyond the logic. The room seems be made up slightly abstractly, but it should have a sense that view comes from the eyes of a child. They would turn structure into a twisted surreal image of itself, trying to make it into a not unfriendly place of plain innocence.

Lewis Carroll in this play has that same kind of purity we can see in several conversations with Alice. Like when Alice is trying to convince Carroll the she isn't someone named Mabel, because she knows more things than her. Carroll tests her out.
Carroll:What's four times six?
Alice: Thirteen.
Carroll: Is London the capital of Paris?
Alice:Yes.

The logic from the books play nicely in all of the childlike scenes, always it creates wonder in common sense and tearing apart the ideas of what adults may think a proper. It reminds me of the purity of the movie Charlie and the Chocolate Factory where what may seem true to life is not a constant everywhere. Only through our imaginations, can we let ourselves free from structure and see things with new eyes. Everything real will be surreal and that will become the normal

Here's Waldo
Kim Deitch is one of the masters of underground comix and his Waldo comics are among his finest. Beautiful black and white line work and an anything but "funny animal" storyline make this a classic. Unfortunately, Deitch's graphic novel collections appear to be going out-of-print so get them while you can. A Shroud For Waldo and Beyond the Pale are still available...Hollywoodland should also be easy to track down. All are well worth the effort.

Guaranteed Success
As a 1st Grade teacher, I have a wide range of reading and handwriting abilities. Keeping them all motivated can be a challenge. I have yet to meet a child, however, who will not jump at the chance to draw. I have the Draw Write Now series and am anxiously awaiting Book 7. No matter what the child's level, they can experience instant success in this program. The step-by-step directions are clear and easily understood. I find that after the writing and drawing, the students are motivated to extend their lesson with other reading and writing experiences, as well as with a variety of art projects.

Wonderful story for boys.
My six year old son loves this book. Very touching and yet offers enough interest to hold him. The child's disability is handled so gently, the book allowed him to discuss this in his own way.
