For EVERY parent who visits Boston!
Lots of guides give you advice and stuff to do in Boston. Some even get specific, offering fun suggestions for night owls, or museum lovers or history buffs. Finally, an easy-to-read, VERY helpful guide for PARENTS! We had a couple guides, but this was the only one we used. Plus, you can DEFINITELY tell that the author lived in and loves the city. Thumbs up all the way around. Waiting on the dog lover's guide next . . .

travel your own city
It's a cliche that everything is different once you have kids. But in the case of traveling, it is definitely true. Now that I have two toddlers, most of the traveling I do is right in the city where I was born and raised. That's why I want to recommend MacKinnon's book - to everyone, but especially to fellow Bostonians. With lots of interesting finds and sensible advice, MacKinnon makes bringing kids (even the youngest ones) into the city seem fun and manageable, whether you are flying into Logan or just taking the T. Some nice day trips are also included.

this is the one
well written, ever mindful of the realities of travelling with children (and on a budget) and full of truly fun, interesting things for BOTH parents and kids to do. I especially appreciate the "best playgrounds in the area", because sometimes a good run-amuck is just what the doctor ordered, for everybody...

stunning first collection
I came across Addonizio's poetry purely by accident. I had never heard of her (actually, i remember seeing her name on the poet's companion, but i had never read her poetry), and i ran across her at a reading in west chester, pa. and i was stunned by it. i picked up philosopher's club, and wasn't dissapointed. the poems inside are sensual poems that radiate sexuality. she works just as well in formal verse as she does in free verse. it is hard to believe that this is her first collection. there is nothing like hearing her read her work, the sensuality of the poems truly comes out when she is reading, but since you can't have her reading every day (unless she comes out with a spoken word cd- we can always hope), this collection should be purchased, and to truly experience the poems, read out loud to yourself.

I waited to long
I can't believe I waited this long to read this book. Addonizio is an incredible poet . I came upon this book by chance at a used book store and was blown away. I read the first few poems in the store and knew I had to have it. So will you

AMAZING
Addonizio has triumphed. This book of poetry is exciting and fresh. Ms. Addonizio is a brilliant writer and those who skip this masterpeice are truly missing something great. Can you tell I liked it? Buy it borrow it do whatever you have to just READ IT!

Thank You!
This is a special Thank you to the authors of this book. My 6 yr. old daughter and I have tremendesly enjoyed this book together. She is a great artist and loves to read. The drawing lessons both help to improve on her reading ability, while giving her great tools for drawing the beautiful and fun pictures displyed. We are both looking forward to more great "Draw Write Now" books.

This is a must for little ones who love to draw.
My son (eight years old) (very good artist) ate this book up. He copied every page in just three days then he was mixing scenes. His drawings took on a superb quality that he had not reached before. The bonus is, he practices his handwriting while learning interesting facts that are good to know. We'll be buying each edition for Christmas for him.

Wonderful!
This book is brightly illustrated and well priced for the high quality. It is a wonderful resourse for parents as well as children. The subject matter covers a broad range of interesting information. Bravo!

My parents bought me the book and I took it to my 4-H meeting. All my friends wanted to look at it. I ended up telling them to get there own because this one was mine!

The perfect gift!
I have 3 granddaughters who all all crazy about horses. Since they live in different states, this made a perfect birthday gift I could mail. I almost wish I had bought one for myself!

I love horses!
I really liked this book because I got to learn so much about horses. My friends thought the book was neat and wanted one of their own, so they could do the puzzles and mazes themselves.

Absolutely wonderful. Just what I was looking for.
Never thought I would find a book for the special accomplishments our babies made. I hope ever preemie parent is given this book as soon as their baby is born. I was so excited when I got this book. It adds happiness to a very difficult time. I have it completely filled out for my baby. I can't wait to show them the heroics they survived. What a wonderful gift!!

This book is very appropriate for premature babies.
I am the parent of a baby born at 25 weeks gestation. Most baby books aren't really appropriate for premature babies, but I found this book to be excellent. This book had places to put information about hospitalization that other baby books don't....If you are considering buying this book, I highly recommend it

Great Book. Every premature infant should have one
Great Book. Records the milestones of the premature infant while in the hospital until six years of age. It is a keepsake album which contains precious memories for the parent of the newborn to record. Better than a regular baby book. Every preemie should have one!!

The best book ever written by Paul C. Jong
The book "Return to the gospel of water and the spirit" if well read
will provide a good insight of what christianity is all about. It serves
as a measure to revive or bring back the glory christianity has lost.
Thus, many christians believe not in the words of the truth of the
gospel but in Jesus as their saviour. The question many christians often
ask is,what is the the true gospel.
The true gospel is 'the gospel of water and the spirit".thus, anyone
who is born again but does not have faith in the salvation of the water
and the spirit is a heretic in the eyes of God.
The true gospel is that Jesus Christ, took away all the sins of the
world by dying on the cross of calvary to save all people who believes in
his death and baptism, from their sins and the final judgment.John 1:29
However, the true gospel cannot be complete,if we disregard the
baptism of Jesus.
Thus ,the baptism of Jesus was the beginning of God's salvation of
humanity as well as the righteous act of Jesus that washed away all the
sins of the world.God redeems all who believe in the truth that Jesus
took away all the sins of the world through His baptism. Also,Jesus
baptism has taken away the sins pf the past ,present and future and even made
me to be without sin ( whoever believes in the baptism of Jesus has no
sin in their heart).
Finally, believing in the baptism of Jesus will make us to understand
the true gospel,by so doing,it will make us to to steer true christians
awy from the fallacy of theological theories, bring back the glory of
christianity and as such receive God's blessing and enter the Kingdom of
Heaven.
Making the above to come to reality,it cannot be possible except we
all return to "The gospel of the water and the SpiriT"

Believe
Brother Jong has written several books and I must say each of his books are a blessing. Each of his books make absolute since and place a peace within. I believe each of his books are a blessing and a must read for everyone. Take all the worldly knowledge out of your head and read each book as a study with your Bible next to you as a reference. Think as if you lived in the days of our Lord and you will be enlighten and truly know that you have been forgiven, past, present and future. Your life has been bought and paid for by Jesus and your life should reflect that in your every day life. This book is truly a blessing for God.

You GOTTA read this book!
I have read all the books that Paul C. Jong has written, and I can honestly say each of them is above reproach. They are wonderful and concise, easy to read, and so TRUE!! These books can change your life if you'll let them. I dare you!

An amazing first effort
Kim Edwards is a highly gifted writer with a wonderful grasp of both character and language. While many of her locales are exotic, the characters are very recognizable in their humanity. Some stories made me cry, and others made me want to shake some sense into the characters. This book is an amazing first effort, and I look forward to Ms. Edwards' future works

Fabulous Story Collection
This book is full of a sincere magic and an earthly clarity. The characters' lives are extraordinary and compassionataly rendered -- I have been touched and moved by all their stories. If you love short story collections definitely read this book

The Silent Master: Awakening the Power Within

This book is a must-read - every day!
Tae Yun Kim's book, Seven Steps to Inner Power, is a great introduction to taking charge of your (my) life, and Silent Master takes all the great pointers and insights and wisdom of the first book and expands on it even further. There are short insights and meditations, and simple practice sessions outlined on how to apply all the great thoughts and insights in your daily life. I pick up the book for just a minute or two every day to help get a great re-charge and keep me positive and focused. If there was ever a manual written on how to have a happy and successful life, this is it!

Well worth the investment!
This book is suprising in how well it describes the rewards and difficulties I've gone through as I've decided to improve my own life and look for something better. It has actually encouraged me to set and achieve much higher goals than I ever would have on my own! What's more, it continues to motivate and encourage me, because it helps me identify many of the road blocks I run into, and helps me find ways around them.

The examples given of Grandmaster Kim's own life and experiences make it obvious that she has personal experience with the whole process, including the discouragements and disappointments of making mistakes. But it's also obvious that she has personal experience pushing past those obstacles, because she delivers new ways of facing challenges that I haven't found anywhere else -- ways that for me have actually worked, and lasted.

People have told me before "Yes, you can do it!" But Grandmaster Kim's books go much further than that, also telling me *why* and *how*. I honestly haven't found that support anywhere else, and this book has paid for itself many, many times over! I highly recommend it!

Daily Motivation!
In my view, throw away any other self-help or motivational books you have and just read "Silent Master". The wisdom Grandmaster Tae Yun Kim shares in "Silent Master" is so clear and simple. I read snipets of this book every day becuase it constantly inspires and motivates me. It's given me the courage to overcome weaknesses (like being shy) that I thought were impossible to overcome.

Unusual meals with a southwest spice to them
Southwestern Soups, Stews & Skillet Suppers provides a dual focus on quick dishes and unusual meals with a southwest spice to them, from a spicy chili-enhanced chorizo chowder to a spicy eggplant stew for two or a barbecued beans and sausage skillet. While color photos are peppered throughout, the focus is on adaptations of traditional dishes and new Southwest dishes which require little preparation.

Mouthwatering recipes that you will use over and over!
This is the kind of cookbook I like to get my hands on. Indeed, the team of Judy Walker and Kim MacEachern have created another gem. Vivid photography will make your mouth water and you will not want to wait for cooler weather to prepare these tempting culinary delights. Desert Fish Soup, Cast Iron Pot Brown Stew, Winter Squash Stew, Skillet Enchiladas, Easy Chicken Pot Pie (which is a delectable "no-brainer"), Jalapeno Blue-Corn Muffins and my personal favorite, Lentil Lime Soup, are among the tasty choices this very "hands on" cookbook offers. I suggest you purchase two,(like I did) so you have a "pretty copy for your kitchen" as you will have the other book's spine split and the pages stained from constant use.

Southwest Cooking Made Easy
Once again Judy Walker has authored a cookbook that has plain, easy directions and the receipes don't use too many ingredients. Each receipe is labeled as Don't Miss, Second Time Around, Quick and Easy, Slow Cooker Family Favorite, Entertaining, etc. Alternative methods of cooking are sometimes included. Those not living in the SW will appreciate receipes for sauces and seasonings!

Stir It Up : Lessons in Community Organizing and Advocacy

You can change the world!
I really found this book both inspiring and realistic. Sen acknowledges the challenges (especially in today's political climate) but lays out what it takes to get the job done. Her practical, real-world guidance walks you through organizing your local community to help achieve change and get results on the issues you care about.

This is a must-have book for social change organizers!
Given the critical importance of social change today, it is stunning that most of the recent books on community organizing focus on personal reflections and sociological analyses instead of giving us the whole package. In "Stir It Up," Rinku Sen manages to squeeze a powerful vision, racial and social justice analysis, profiles of organizing groups, a detailed contact list of organizations and networks, and tools for creating real change into two hundred pages. This is a watershed book for the social justice organizing movement, illuminating the principles and practices that ground multi-racial, social justice, racial justice, and direct action organizations that have developed in the past twenty-five years.

If you are serious about systemic change that addresses the root causes of racism, classism, sexism, homophobia, and xenophobia, then this book offers you a framework and process for creating real change. Sections of the book go through the identification and selection of issues using a social justic lens, working with emerging constituencies, running campaigns and taking action, research, and, most critically, framing our struggles and organizations to address systemic oppression. Readers will get a clear sense of the unrelenting human movement toward freedom through profiles of extraordinary groups that continue to win both concrete change and a reordering of power in our society. Kudos to Rinku Sen for taking the time to describe the growth, development, and work of the racial and social justice movement to the world!

Puttin' the Active Back in Activism
Passion & pragmatism don't always come together in community organzing -- kudos to Ms. Sen for showing us how to balance the two! I'm so glad that someone has finally written a comprehensive book on the strategy & practice of organizing...considering where our nation is headed, this comes not a moment too soon.
