Heartwarming
I have read several other books with the same theme, however this book surpasses them all. Our copy is well loved and our guests tend to migrate toward it at our home. The book contains the stories of several people and how dogs have touched their lives. It is a glimpse into personal collections of avid dog lovers and collectors.

All Dog Collectors must have this book!
I am an avid collector of dog memorabilia and motif items and this book was an inspiration! My husband just thought I was obsessive about dog objects! Your book gave me new ideas for old dog items that I never would have thought of. The photography is beautiful and the subjects are warm and true. I know that I am not alone in my endeavor to collect and display what I love!

A beautiful book for serious dog-lovers.
I've always had an affinity for dogs and the people who love them, which is probably why this book now occupies the premier spot on my coffee table. After reading the introduction by Larry Sheehan, in which he shares hilarious and endearing tales about his dog, Buster, I knew I'd found someone who truly understood what it means to live with and love dogs. Even bad ones. The book is a celebration of hardcore dog enthusiasm. It's fun to learn about other people's passion for various breeds. What's more, the pages are filled with pictures of beautiful dogs, beautiful homes, and beautiful places. I got tons of inspiration for decorating my home and incorporating my love of dogs into my life. This book would make a wonderful gift.

Wonderful book! Pantaloon IS what a Standard Poodle is all about!!!! My Mom used to read my siblings and I, this book almost every night! Pantaloon IS the reason that my mom got her Standard Poodle, Schatzi! Pantaloon IS Schatzi! This book is a MUST read for children and adults alike!

What a helpful poodle!
Oh could we all have a poodle like Pantaloon. Oh could all picture books be like this. The illustrations will capture the attention of the pre-verbal. Reading the story aloud feels like singing! Delicious!

I never forgot this book!
I'm 54 yrs old and remember sitting in my grandparents' living room as a small child, enthralled with Pantaloon. This is a wonderful book, wonderfully illustrated. My search is over and I can now share it with my own grandchild.

An Exciting Page Turner
I enjoyed Shadows in the Water because it is such an imaginative novel but yet seems so real. The Starbuck Family is full of unusual features. Including two sets of twins, Liberty and July (feternal),Molly and Charly (identical), the Starbuck Family goes on many wild adventures. To make the story even more exciting, both sets of twins are telipathic. On this expidition, the twins are sent to the Florida Keys. Meeting up with some toxic waste dumpers, the children find that a beautiful dolphin's life is at risk. Being able to communicate with the dolphins using their telepathy, the children do the best they can to save this beautiful dolphin.
This book is very thrilling. If you decide to get it, I hope you enjoy it.

Book for all ages
This book might be one of my all time favorites, I've read it about 8 times now and it never gets old. I recently bought the book before it because I was so impressed with Shadows in the water. The writing is incredible and the story untouchable. The twins are so life like and you can almost hear the dolphin's voices in your own head. This book can be enjoyed by all ages

cool!
Shadows in the Water is an awesome book. I thought it was neat how July and Liberty could communicate with the dolphins, and i really liked the ending. I think it would be neat to live on a house boat, with a water slide right out my window.

What a great book!
I received this book and think it's great! Thanks loads!!
Congratulations on a product that's certain to help a lot of government employees succeed where otherwise they might not. Having served on numerous selection panels in the past, I often wondered why so many employees "missed the boat" on putting together a "sellable" application. Now, that shouldn't happen anymore. R, Don

If your serious, this is what you want
If your planning on filling out a resume online for a fed job (especially DOD). It would be insane not to buy this book.

Worth the money (do the math, it's easy) ...
Bought the book. Landed a GS-9 job.

How's that for a book review?

The math: The book is on the expensive side, but you have to think of the cover price as an investment. Put another way: now I'm making more money than I made when I was on active military duty (I'm a retired grunt; retired Sgt. First Class pay plus GS-9 pay equals more than active duty Sgt. First Class pay).

Federal Resumix Guidebook how-to in short: It teaches you how to organize your past employment experiences into a consolidated nonstandard resume that contains the actual words GS managers may be using to search for employees.

The book causes you to think of the Resumix system as a search engine looking for you. Does that make sense? :-)

Ha ha
Bad poetry is one of life's greatest illicit joys, and there are some real gems here, along with much commentary by the editors who help explain why this stuff is so terrible in case you somehow can't figure it out. For my taste, there are too many little excepts here and not enough complete poems. For fans of this sort of thing, I also strongly recommend two other books. The first is "Pegasus Descending," an earlier collection of bad verse that was among the first of its kind. (I think it may come back into print in 2001?) Hilarious. The other is the catalog of "Moba," the Museum of Bad Art in Massachusetts. Lord, are those paintings funny.

The most delightful drivel ever
I stumbled across this book, and immediately bought it, along with several copies for my friends as well. Taking it to a nearby coffee shop, I laughed so hard other patrons were staring, and somebody actually came up and asked me what was so funny. They seemed to think I was crazy for deliberately buying a book of bad poetry. Finally, I began laughing so hard I was crying, and had to leave to coffee shop to save some sense of dignity! With such gems as "Ode to a Ditch," and "Elegy for a Dissected Puppy," this book proves more interesting and entertaining than I expected, and is also a testament to the indomitable human spirit, which warbles the strangest of verses.

A personal experience
I have to share this with Amazon.com's readers...

A couple of years ago, we bought this book, as a family Christmas present. We laughed until we cried, then packed the book up, and took it along to the big family get-together at Grandma's house. After dinner, with everybody gathered around the living room, Very Bad Poetry was brought out, passed around, and each family member invited to read a selection - ALOUD. The carnage was indescribable! Everybody laughed until their sides ached! Children clamored to be allowed to "read a bad poem". Adults could be seen, after it was over, furtively trying to memorize their "favorite".

What more could you ask from a book of poems - bad or good!

WHen he's there he meets his brothers fiancee Anna, and they quickly fall in love. that part was my favorite because i thought i was really well described. then Anna figures out that richard (ewan's half brother) and her mother are plotting against ewan to make richard become duke, so she warns ewan! and richard even kidnapes ewan in order to force over the dukedom. while richard has to try to force anna to marry him.
to see what happens read the book! it's soooooooo good!

A must read!
This is the first book I have read in Avon True Romance, and it has made a very good impression on the series. Anna has great spunk and humor, while the Duke is a romantic and a dreamer. This is one of the best in the series, and I recommend it with five stars. Enjoy!

Well thought out book on project management
This book provides the basics of project management in an easy to use casual style. It proceeds step by step through building a plan and then managing a project. The chapter on project costing is good, but could use some more detail. The modern and historical examples are usefully examined. These could be expanded more later.

Overall most useful basic project management book
This book not only gives you all of the basics, but also highlights how to use the Internet for project management. Very useful material.

Modern, complete easy to use project management book
Project management for the 21st century is one of the most usable, easy to read, and complete project management books. There are good examples. Techniques are modern--better than that available in other books. This books stresses working together, sharing information, and dealing with resources that are spread among various projects. Very good reference.

Practical Guidance Gained From Practical Experience
In the spirit of "The One Minute Manager", this book provides practical hands-on guidance for dealing with real issues. Although rooted in such grand concepts as Integrity, Ethics, Honesty and Principle it is a practical book. In fact, it is because of this that it is a practical and useful book for day-to-day-manangement of work and life.

It's About Simple!
Dr. Greenslade offers helpful hints in basic management. In a world of high tech, and numerous books available on "how to manage" properly, we often overlook the "simple": -management is relationships- with your subordinates, your colleagues and your friends. Greenslade helps marry (manage) your personal and business life, to survive the chaos at work and focus on common ground and objectives; it is garnered from his own extensive management experiences in various biomedical industries. It also teaches you to care for yourself, and others. It reflects his own experiences in past "management chaos" in an honest and forthright manner. Utilizing those experiences, allowed him to "seize his own day" and pass on to others ways to "simplify, simplify, simplify" management. A valuable tool in the continuous quest to "manage" in a way that people and businesses can "grow together".

successful simple minded approach for a complex world
The clarity, brevity and sincerity of the author shines through with advice which can be life altering to the serious reader.

Half-A-Moon Inn
The Half-A-Moon Inn is a great story because it teaches that everybody has to grow up soon or later.
This book is about a boy named Aaron who goes looking for his mother when she doesn't come home. This is the first time he has been home alone because of his muteness. When his mother doesn't come back on his birthday he gets worried and goes after her into the woods that are near his house. In the woods he gets tangled with a ragman and then has to work for an old lady that owns an inn. When his mother finds out that he left the house she went around looking for him and stopped in at the inn. The mother recognizes right away that one of the things the the inn keeper had and figured she had seen him.
At the part where Aaron doesn't stay at the house, I think that he should've stayed because his mother said to never leave sight of the house. I also think he should've locked the door when he went to bed worrying about his mother.
I would recommend this book to my friend who likes adventures and stories that have wicked, horrible, and terrible people in them. I recommend this boo k to her because she also likes sad and scary stories.
I like this story an,d t.hat is why I hope that whoever reads it will like it too.

The Half A Moon Inn
What 11 year old boy wouldn't want to stay home alone. I thought. Aaron has a difficult life because he is mute, and wouldn't want to be home alone.
Aaron is scared to be left alone because he is mute, and it could be dangerous for him.
I felt like if I was inside Aarons shoes because I felt sad for him when his mom didn't come back. When we read this book I thought it was a wonderful and sad novel because at the end Aaron found his mom.
I recommend this novel to everyone that will like to enjoy Paul Fleischman's stories/novels.I think that people who likes sad novels would like Paul Fleischman's stories because of his feelings.

The Half-A-Moon Book Reveiw
The Half-A-Moon Inn Book Review
By: Stephanie Hill

This book is a wonderful fiction story about a boy named Aaron and his first adventure alone. Aaron was born unable to speak, and his father got lost at sea. The day before Aaron's birthday, his mom left him alone for the first time. The next day a bad snowstorm arrived. The day Aaron's mom was suppose to come home, she didn't, so Aaron went out looking for her. He got lost in the woods alone. He met a ragman and got a ride to a city called Williford. Then he went to the Half-A-Moon Inn and met a lady named Miss Grackle. Miss Grackle forced Aaron to make to the fires and tend to the visitors. She took his shoes and put them in soup for the visitors. He also got all his belongings taken away. The visitors were telling the story of King Tom. He was a robber that killed people and then took all their money and belongings. Miss Grackle was a pickpocket, just like King Tom. Aaron tried to get away, but he got caught, and she whipped his feet until they were swelled and red. His mom stopped by looking for him, and Miss Grackle said she had not seen him. Aaron got really mad, and he wondered if his mom would ever come back there looking for him. Miss Grackle made soup for the visitors that allowed her to look at their dreams. The ragman stopped by and stayed a night. In the morning Aaron and Miss Grackle caught King Tom in the inn's cellar. While Miss Grackle was making fun of King Tom, Aaron slipped outside, jumped into the ragman's wagon, and off he went. The ragman never did realize that Aaron couldn't speak. After a while the ragman noticed he didn't have his money, so him and Aaron drove back to the inn. When they got to the inn his mom was there and Miss Grackle gave him all of his belongings back. His mom gave him new boots for his birthday, and Aaron and his mom hugged and hugged.
I think this book is very interesting and good, because of its adventure. I liked it when Aaron first walked into the Half-A-Moon Inn, because that's when some of the adventure started. I also liked when he went searching for his mother. I thought that was very brave of him, since it was his first time alone. The last reason I liked the book is, because of the exciting end of the book. I think Miss Grackle is a mean old stupid robber that should be in jail. I would recommend this book to a person that likes adventure books, or any young reader. Almost the whole book is about adventure, and I've never read a book like that. This book is a wonderful fiction story of adventure.
