AWESOME!
this is no doubt the best book i've ever read. i've read it about 7 times! if you like ghosts, and telepathy (both sets of the Starbuck twins can communicate without anyone else hearing their conversations) this book is for you. before you read this one, though, you should read the first two. they are great too, but in my opinion this one is the best.

A gripping story
This book takes place in New Mexico, where the telepathic Starbuck children are taken to for their father's work. There they meet a young indian maiden's ghost whose past reveils the truth of the present. They must collect the pieces of pottery of an ancient pot before they fall into the wrong hands. This book is very gripping for the young adult reader.

Terah keeps it simple and easy to use
Terah's voice is very pleasing to listen to and she presents the concepts simply so one can immediately put the concepts to use in your home and office. I have done both -- with good effect. Her experience in working with hundreds of homes and offices is condensed into a very pleasant listening and learning experience. If you want to affirm in your physical world what you are already affirming and praying for in your mental world, then this is the program for you. I've listened to a lot of tape programs over the years and hers is among the best!

Western Guide to Feng Shui - 6 audio tape series
This tape series is the follow on to the original piece by the author. What an excellent way for readers to learn about Feng Shui - while driving the long commute home or at home. Terah Collins covers the basics in a clear, concise, and informative way. I finally understand the history behind this Eastern practice of building and maintaining harmonious and peaceful environmental surroundings. The workbook clearly compliments topics on tape. Especially useful is tape 5 which covers the room by room outline for emphasizing each type of chi treasure that is part of the bagua in one's home or office. My home has already become a more inviting and peaceful place to live!

Multicultural Wisdom
For quite some time quotes from various religions and cultures have intrigued me. Some of the best things in life appear when you are not even looking. Finding this book was one of those beautiful things that happens on a sunny afternoon in your favorite bookstore when you are not really looking, just browsing around drinking a hot chai tea.

"He who forgives ends the quarrel." -African Proverb

I was instantly intrigued with this beautiful book. The format is also very appealing and easy to read, with two columns of quotes on each page. The quotes are organized according to interesting and relevant topics. The detailed biographical Index not only gives the authors name and information, you can also find all the page numbers and topics for their quotes under their name.

"Like a child in its cradle
I would that very gentle arms
Might rock my grieving spirit
And be as it were a kindly shelter
For my heart-a traveler lost
On a remote deserted road."

Nguyen Vy

The best way to enjoy this book is to have a pen in hand and to mark each quote you enjoyed, because like a good cup of tea, you are going to want to enjoy reading these quotes again. I drew dreamy purple clouds around all my favorite quotes, passages and poems. This was my favorite quote:

"Literature must be an analysis of experience and a synthesis of the findings into a unity." -Rebecca West (1892-1983)

Some of the topics you might enjoy: Acceptance, Adventure, Beauty, Belief, Books and Reading, Charity, Compassion, Creativity, Dreams, Emotions, Family, Good and Evil, Happiness, Ideals, Joy, Last Words, Love, Meditation, Music, Oppression, Peace, Poetry, Reason, Sacrifice, Talent, Trust, Waiting, Will and Youth.

Reading "The Whole World Book of Quotations" will give you a unique perspective and actually I found reading this book had a calming effect on me.

A really fine book -- moving and useful.
This is a sadly under-rated book. It's full of marvelous quotations from new sources --some beautiful Chinese and Japanese quotes. I refer to it constantly and am really amazed that it's so unknown. A must have for serious readers.

Wildwood Flower: Poems

Wildwood Flower Sings!
So much of contemporary poetry is as prosy as your average obituary. And just about as engaging. A few poets, more than a few of them from the South, still know how to wield a line, a stanza, a whole poem. This poet does. The poems in this book, in the voice of a mountain woman named Alma, gather up the physical, emotional, erotic life of one woman into a texture of beauty and terror. "Abandoned to hoot owls and copperheads," Alma survives and sings her journey through the dark into luminous song. If you despair of what is happening to poetry, these days, don't. Read this book.

A voice from the blue Ridge Mountains
Byer is quoted as saying of the Blue Ridge Mts. "...these mountains are a crazy-quilt of trails haunted by women's voices," and what Byer is successful in doing is bringing those voices to life. Each poem connects the reader with the lives of women who have lived in the mountians, the isolation of their daily lives and how they sink into or break the isolation by communicating with each other through their songs. The poems are sometimes joyful and sometimes haunting as the boundary between domestic space and nature overlap. I couldn't stop reading and usually with poetry I only read one or two poems at a time and then let it settle. But with this book I got caught up Byer's crazy-quilt and read untill the end. It is a rich book.

Great Nighttime Devotional for Preschoolers
This is my most favorite christian childrens book! It is written just for their level about struggles that all preschoolers can relate to. Each page has a bible verse, a prayer and a story about other children who are doing something they shouldn't. It teaches things such as; sharing, taking turns, treating animals kindly, etc, etc. Then there are 4 questions that ask the child questions about the picture. My 3 year old loves this book and totally understands what it is trying to teach him. It has also been a great book to open up discussions with him about right and wrong!

A great teaching book for preschoolers.
This book is great for teaching preschoolers about God and what he wants from us. It teaches right from wrong and tells us what God would want us to do. Great self-esteem builder too. The short lessons are very positive and the pictures are easy for my sons to relate to. I like the questions at the end of each story because they help our sons think about what they should do, and how they are expected to act.

Refreshing and Timely Prayer Book for Women and Men
Thank you Elizabeth, Marjorie and Ann and associates for this exquisite book. It is a remarkable collection of thoughtful, devoted prayers and insights. Truly inspired! Truly welcome! A gift to women and men of faith.

My only disappointment is in the title of the book. The contents are very common indeed to women and are raised in common voice to God. The title, Women's Uncommon Prayers, trivializes and marginalizes the work. The Book of Common Prayer already marginalizes women because of its lack of inclusive language. This title, Women's Uncommon Prayers, perpetuates that by implication that women's work of worship and prayer is uncommon and at the margins of serious prayer and certainly of common / corporate (men and women) worship.

Women's Uncommon Prayers: Our Lives Revealed, Nurtured, Cele
What an amazing collection of prayers by and for the voice of women! A variety of topics, rich imagery, and amazing ways to connect with God in language that speaks from women's perspectives qualify for this book a prominent place on any woman's nightstand and/or bookshelf. I laugh at some thoughts, and cry at the astonishing way others are able to say what fails my voice. If you are a male, this book presents a rare opportunity to gain a peek into the hearts of women and their prayers to God. Advent and Christmas are approaching - stock up and give as gifts that will bring faith, renewal, and celebration for many years to come. My thanks to the compilers and the contributors of this terrific resource! You are a blessing to women everywhere.

A breezy, entertaining read
This is a great book to read when you're on vacation or at the beach. It's the story of 3 sisters Alice, Allegra, and Edith (aka Minnow) who are reluctant to leave their summer house when their parents vacation plans are suddenly changed. Rather than spend a week with their boring and strict aunt, they concoct a plan which will allow them to stay behind without their parents. As Allegra puts it "We'll be on the island and we won't have a worry in the world!" But their plan goes awry and they find themselves facing dilemma after dilemma: sprained ankles, sunburns, murdering thieves (not really) and NO food. Some parents may worry about the ideas sent by of three young girls living for a week without adult supervision. Not to mention there's a lot of skinny dipping. But if you're going to oppose the book on those grounds, you may as well tell people to burn copies of "Pippi Longstocking". The book is well written with a definitively humorous tone. The characters are very real and well portrayed. Overall the story is charming and witty and exciting. If you like it you may want to read Lindbergh's 'Pinapple Place' books, though I think this book outshines them.

Hilarious!
Anne Lindbergh shines! A great book

Definitely a keeper!
This is the finest category romance I have ever read. The heroine is a beautiful young woman haunted by her sad childhood in foster homes. The hero is a workaholic businessman who meets her through their half-brother and becomes utterly enchanted with her. The story of how they overcome secrets from the past and their present fears is truly wonderful. You will love this book!

Don't Miss this Keeper!
A sensual and moving story about a woman overcoming her past and the to-die-for hero who not only captures her heart, but works hard to keep it. Damian is every woman's dream. Don't miss this story! Karen Drogin aka Carly Phillips
