This book is amazing, heartwarming and very special!
I came across this book in a library in Scotland, where I spent a year of my life, and was totally taken by it. Home again in Vienna I tried to obtain it in several bookstores but none of them had it. Then my sister brought it home from a visit to England and since then I've read it about a hundred times. I simply can't get enough of it. The characters are so real and special! On a recent visit to Scotland I also went to Kilchurn Castle and Loch Awe and it is just as described in the book, immensly beautiful! This book was worth every minute of your life, Mrs Davis!!!
Wonderful - brings Scotland to life
This book is absolutely wonderful. I've read it a number of times and passed it along to family and friends. On a recent trip to Scotland the highlight was seeing Kilchurn Castle, where much of the story is set. It was fantastic. And I could just see the Campbell clan living on the beautiful Loch Awe. The story is extra special because it is based on real people and around real events. Kathryn Lynn Davis brings it all to life.

Hello Rainy Days!
Kathy Ross's creative books have my children turning off the television and asking to have craft-time. I enthusiastically agree to an afternoon of crafts with more fun ideas than ever before. Her projects fit in well with holidays, homeschool themes, or just a rainy afternoon, and are great for any parent whose creativity is running dry, or a child whose imagination needs channeling. We checked this book out from the library so many times that now we have decided to buy one of our own. Great ideas for all ages...even Mom!
One of the GREATEST craft books to try with your children.
This book was amazing, especially if you have children. Thisbook has crafts for Autumn, but I like to them any rainy day. It hasreally easy to follow instructions, pictures and tons of family fun.

Golden resource
I almost felt like I was cheating on the CLAD test. This handbook was a wonderful resource and the only one I used to pass the test .... the FIRST time!!
Preparing to take the CLAD test.
Chapters 1 & 2 seemed very dry but I'm not big on theory. The remaining chapters were much more interesting. I highly recommend reading it before taking the CLAD test.

A different view of Dear America
As War rages on in Europe in 1917 Kathleen "Cat" Bowen knows there is another big fight to finish at home. Her mother, sister, aunt, and many other women around her have all become suffragists to the disapproval of many men including Cat's uncle and her father. Cat and her cousin Alma want to join the picket lines but they are too young. The excitement builds as the picket lines have lasted more than a week and it seems there might be hope in the horizon! News reaches far out of the picket lines in Washington D.C. and many women from all over the United States have come to participate in the fight for the right to vote. On the homefront as the United States gets ready for war Cat sees the changes at home too as women take a much more active role in the society such as her cousin Alma who helps with the Red Cross over in Europe after running away from home and her problems . However Cat suffers a blow with the unexpected arrest of her mother. Can Cat survive more things to come?
This Adobe Reader was great! It greatly enhances the experice of reading this book with specials here and there! There were so many things to do!! Photos, videos, exerts!!! Great price for such a big package!!
A wonderful new book from the Dear America series.
It's 1917 in Washington, D.C, and as the Great War rages in Europe, thirteen-year-old Kathleen Bowen is caught up in a fight closer to home. Her mother, sister Nell, and Auntie Claire are suffragists, fighting for voting rights for women, to the disapproval of her Uncle Bayard and the worry of her father. Kat and her cousin Alma, who are the exact same age, want to help, but they are too young to join the picket line. As it begins to seem more and more likely that the United States will enter the war, life begins to change in other ways. Nell leaves to join the Women's Ambulance Corps in France, and Alma, desperate to escape after her parents' bitter divorce, runs away to England and becomes a Red Cross volunteer. But the worst hardship of all is still to come. Kat's mother is arrested, and Kat wonders how she will ever make it through this unbearable loneliness. I highly recommend this book to all fans of the Dear America series.

Full of Ideas
This is a great resource book for early childhood nature studies. Great for family or school use. It lists activites and books for many nature topics. The cycle of the day, endagered species, protecting the environemnt and more are all covered with books and activites for ages 3 and up. (probably to about 3rd grade)
Invaluable resource for parents and teachers
This book is an excellent resource for parents and educators who wish to develop environmental awareness in young children. It is filled with LOTS of activities, stories, songs, and resources which help children to establish a spiritual connection with the earth and all its creatures. Through reading this book and utilizing its ideas, parents, teachers, and the children in their care can't help but develop a greater respect for the world around them. I have also found the Dream Starter section in each chapter to be an excellent relaxation tool for myself as well as my children.

Fun time-travel
The Escape is an excellent book. Unfortunately, it's impossible to tell what the story's about from the blurb on the back, so I suspect many people don't read it. The Escape is a time-travel story, and a very good one. The main characters in the book are Torres, Kim, and Neelix, who are separated from the others. We also get to see a lot of Paris and Tuvok working together, which is interesting. The plot is really interesting and very twisty - after all, it's time travel. At first, all the talk of Time Periods, Real Time, time-jumping and back-timing is very confusing, but the authors do an excellent job of explaining it and making it clear. I couldn't figure out how they'd solve the problem, and the whole book was very intriguing. This is one of the more inventive books I've read - most authors don't want to tackle the confusing concept of time-traveling, and it's great when someone does. Even though the book is a very early Voyager, the characters are well done and there are few errors. The Escape is a well-written, suspenseful, and fun time-travel story!
A very exciting story...I couldn't put it down!
This is the kind of story that would make a great Star Trek episode. I loved the whole concept of this novel. It was well thought out. The characters were very interesting. I enjoyed every page!

Wonderful Read
My 8 year old had this book on her school reading list. She loved it and has read it many times. She thought it was really funny and loved the part about the gummy worms on the pizza. Any book that gets a child to read is all right with me.
Its Funny
I read this book in my second grade class. This is a funny book. Even Steven likes everything even. Odd Todd likes everything odd. For example, Even Steven would like 8 pancakes and Odd Todd would like 7 pancakes. Even Steven goes through hard work with Odd Todd. Then, Even Steven notices that odd and even are both good. My favorite part was when Odd Todd and Even Steven win their $50 prize.

Thank God i found it
For 25 or more years I have been using this book, but last fall, while moving from Texas to NM the moving van was stolen with all our belongings stolen with it. 43 years of marriage gone. Now it's time to start my canning again and I needed my favorite book. No matter how many books I have purchased none compare with this one. Days of searching the net and now I can again enjoy my days in the kitchen.
This book was excellent in 1973 and still is today in 1999
I have owned this book for over 25 years. I love it. The section on Pickles, Relishes and Sauekraut has been my long time favorite. Today, I was searching Amazon.com to see if this book had been revised.

One of the best
This is truly a gem of a book. Brilliant characters and a wonderful love story. I am trying to find her other works, if they're anything like this, she deserves superstardom.
Wondeful as always.
Kathryn Shay always writes a great romance. This time around it is between a devoted single father who has all the pressures imaginable of a single father (and then some) and his daughter's counselor. Ordinary, everyday people in ordinary professions. But what a great book! I loved it. Highly recommended.

Useful reference source!
Beautiful color photos on one side with easy to read text on the other side. A booklet comes with it explaining feng shui basics. Cards cover a wide variety of topics including specific areas of your life (career, children & creativity, love & marriage, fame & recognition, wealth & prosperity, health & family.) These cards are full of good ideas to enhance your life. Enjoy!
Excellent aid to decluttering and organizing!
A friend gave me these cards for Christmas and I've been organizing and decluttering (improving my Ch'i) ever since! They really work! The little book that comes with the cards very succinctly explains the philosophy of Feng Shui and how to incorporate it into your life. There's a card for every room in your home and a before and after picture of a room that has been made Feng Shui complaint. I highly recommend these to anyone seeking to get orgazined or simplify your life! Thanks, Angie!!
