Another Excellent Book By Terry Stickels!
Terry Stickels ALWAYS makes his puzzles fun, while still educational, and the variety of types of puzzles, and varying levels of difficulty in the problems make certain than everyone will find something worthwhile within the pages of his books.

What you get in this tome: 150 excellent puzzles that I will look back over many times in the coming years. Also look on Amazon for Terry's other puzzles books, calendars and (if/when Amazon starts to sell them) his top notch Knowledge Cards, of which there are now many decks.

America's Mathemagician Has Another Winner!
Terry Stickels' Mind-Bending Puzzle series (soon to be 4 volumes and 7 card decks... plus his yearly calendar) is still the best thing going in puzzle land. Even the legendary Martin Gardner is a fan. ( He has written the forward for the first in this series.) I hope Pomegranate Publishing keeps producing his material... they do an excellent job.

Its a Disk World COOKBOOK, what more could you want?
Yes you too can make Bread and Water, Drop Scones, Dried Frog Pills (complete with NO FROGS). Plus it has great (and VERY funny) words of wisdom from Nanny Ogg.

If you like Diskworld I would recomend it. If you are looking for a normal cookbook look somewhere else.

LOL
I bought this book for my mother for Christmas and she loves it! It's beautiful to look through, and it's a hysterical read, for anyone, not just cooks.

Laughter and good food! What more could you want?
This heavily edited version of Nanny Ogg's Cookbook made me wish for the days when I was in Ankh-Morpork with me mum and she'd ...

OK, so that's going a bit too far. Please forgive me.

The recipes are all in metric units but that's no real trouble for a resourceful American cook! I have tried several, they came out quite well! The honey mixture for the porridge is delicious. I also liked Rincewind's potato cakes. The gumbo recipe was amazing! Technically, I suppose that I have also had the Librarian's recipe but that is quite probably splitting hairs.

But odds are that you aren't buying this for the recipes. You're buying it for the wit and wisdom of Terry Pratchett. You get that in spades! The way Leonard of Quirm makes a cheese sandwich had me laughing out loud! The sections on etiquette were divine. My personal favorite was about Death but then again, I've always loved that character.

Check it out! You won't regret it!

Been there...done BEEN there!
My qualifications: I used to live 4km from Hameln ("Hamelin", Anglicized), Germany! It's near Hanover, if you're looking on a map. Regardless, I was happy to find this treasure. This is the most vividly illustrated version I've seen. The illustrations are splendid, & the book is nice & large. After seeing ANATOLY IVANOV's illustrations, other versions just don't do the story justice. The text is printed in what i would decribe as "default" calligraphic italic, adding to its charm, if not its "authenticity". I give it a big 5 RATS!

Share the Magic
This book would be a wonderful treasure for the pictures alone. Kate Greenaway, noted children's illustrator, has created a magical world of beautiful children, innocent faces, and romantic, nostalgic costumes. The colors on these pages are breathtaking, and the details (although Greenaway is always faulted for not drawing hands and feet well) are superb. This story is not for very young children, as it contains some troublesome themes. For the older child, perhaps 7+, the story might provoke some interesting post-read family discussions about honesty, trust, and the actual state of the children at the end of the tale. This is even a beautiful book to give to adults, as the messages about human nature can be appreciated on a deeper level.

Unique Children's Classic
The Pied Piper of Hamelin is a very different children's classic. Few other children's picture books tell a story in Victorian poetry. The book isn't just original; it is excellent. I have always enjoyed Robert Browning's poetry, and this is no exception. I was surprised at how easy it was to read this book compared to some of Browning's other verse, and it was pleasing to read, especially considering that this is focused toward children. I loved all of the poetic techniques used by Browning. His iambic tetrameter in couplets works very well for young readers, and I loved his use of anaphora and internal rhyme. The story is, of course, brilliant. It is the usual folk tale that every child has heard and needs to hear. It teaches its lesson, and Browning's version is even more entertaining than other versions. Also, the illustrations by Kate Greenway are fabulous. It is impossible to imagine this story in Browning's Victorian verse without Greenway's Victorian artistry. This is a true children's classic, it should definately last for years to come, and it makes and excellent buy for children or for libraries.

One of a kind
Excellent, a childhood classic indeed. It's because of Terry Nation that Peter Pan gave it all up for neverending childhood... the kind of story with warmth and vision that children will remember for a lifetime.

My Favourite Childrens book
A teacher at school read Rebecca's World to us as a class when i was 9, at the time the environmental theme wasn't apparent becasue it was before people realised the problem. I recommend this book to everyone, particularly to teachers, because everyone I know who ever read it as a child rates it as amongst their favourite book. I wouldn't say that this book changed my life (except for spending far too much time in second hand bookshops trying to find a copy) but even when i read it now, it sparks off my imagination. Any book which makes you want to know the characters better is great in my book, and I'm still sad when the story ends because I want to know more about the world, and the characters. I eventually found a copy, and it is one of my most treasured possessions, probably more so because the child who owned it before me carefully coloured in the map at the front, and the pictures at the back. This should be on every childs reading list.

My favourite childhood book
This book opened my mind to the realm of science fiction. It was my favourite book as a child and I cherish it still. It sits on my bookshelf now that I have discarded many of my childhood bits and pieces, having moved countries and grown up.

I couldn't put it down.
Very descriptive and captivating. Once I started this book I could not put it down. Great writing style and strong characters. It's a must read.

The Senator's Son, by Terry Brejla
Terry Brejla's 'The Senator's Son' is a great read. Brejla has a strong , manly style that draws you into the characters lives without overplaying the sentimental. He writes fiction in broad strokes filled with colorful details about real people and places. Think of Hemmingway writing a thriller. The action flows from Des Moines to D.C. to a secluded hideout in the Land of Lakes, and climaxes with a life or death race to Denver. An all-American family must match nerves with the lowest elements of the Manfredo crime syndicate. Here's a warning about 'The Senator's Son.' Readers will face a frustrating dilemma, you don't want it to end but can't wait to see how it turns out.

What A Pleasant Surprise
When I started reading this book I thought I was into something new from Brad Meltzer or Ridley Pearson. Whew! What a good read. I just finished it, and I'm exhausted. I'm usually really good at figuring things out in a thriller but not in this one.

Way of the Samurai (Musashi Book 1)

Life Changing.
I first read this story about 12 or 13 years ago when I was entering my teens. Corgi originally released the first book in the series here in the UK at about that same time, and it took over a year for the series to be completed. However the story itself was written in 1935, first being printed in serialized form in one of Japans most famous newspapers, the Asahi Shimbun. The story is a very powerful one that keeps you within its grasp all the way throughout. As well as captivating your mind it captures your heart and your soon so entranced within the story itself that you actually feel that your there, experiencing it with Musashi. Along with a well devised plot that doesn't drift too far from the truth, there's an educational side that goes with it, that teaches you in great detail about feudal Japan, its people and its places and it does this without ever leaving the story. You will finish this book with a good knowledge and understanding of japans history and all without the need for history books. The characters are so well detailed, you can actually picture them very clearly in your head. Its a story that is so well written, so detailed and so enthralling that you actually forget that your living here in the present. Yoshikawa tells the story in such a powerfully romantic way that it might actually make you stop and think about yourself. All in all this book is a must buy. Out of the many books that I have read, this story is not only the best, but it's a story that I will hold in my heart for eternity. You may find yourself never ever wanting to lose this story but most of all, you will be so grateful that you found it.

The Best Series Ever!
My lord! This book, as well as the other four have changed my very way of life. This is by far the best series i've ever read. i can only recommend this to all, and i mean all. this book along with the others have gotten me into swordsmanship, and the way of the samurai. anyway, I couldn't put this thing down, so i doubt you will be able to. read it!

Probably the best book of feudal Japan that I have had the pleasure to read. Can not wait for Book II to be printed again.

ACTION PACKED!
The 13th power is an action packed adventure. I was unable to put it down. Terry Wright has done an incredible job of mixing elements of adventure, disaster, scientific experimentation, military retaliation and love in this novel. There is something for everyone.

The characters escape one disaster after another once they decide to proceed with their experiments of discovery for the 13th power. A father must struggle with the danger he has placed his estranged daughter in, while watching her fall in love with his colleague. What started as a quest of knowledge for two scientist has turned into a power struggle of two scientific laboratories. They battle, sparing no lives, in their quest to own the knowledge. Could this be the beginning of the end of the world as we know it?

Stay tuned... The 13th Power, Episode II is on it's way! This reader can't wait!

Powerful Writing at its Best! Fantastic Science filled Read.
The Russian's fear "The 13th Power" and rightfully so. But there is unlimited wealth and and a tremendous power to be had through its ultimate control. The evils enter... Governmental lies? Spies? Private eyes? FBI and CIA cover-ups?
The Ark? A hero? A nightmare? The pawns are moved and people begin to die. The military is activated to halt the evil. But wait? Just who "is" the evil? This is not a black and white answer. Mixed motives abound to reach the 13th power. Greed, ego, love, and base insanities flourish through the pages of "The 13th Power." Car chases, airplane duels on a runway, Blackhawks firing missels into squad cars, corrupt police, spy satellites, ugly bad guys, beautiful women... Torture scenes.
Terry Wright gives all of this and a lot, lot more -- he gives us -- believability! The last eighty pages of this book has some of the finest climax writing that I have ever read. I love Wright's subtle set up for a sequel. "The 13th Power" is brilliant, masterful, and most of all -- entertaining."

Spellbinding
Don't plan on going anywhere for a few days. Terry Wright's "The 13th Power" is a page-turner, and will keep you welded to your seats. From the Malaysian jungle to Simi Valley, Terry gives you the hair-raising suspense at what can happen when an experiment goes wrong.

"You are NOT getting sleepy..."
Doctor Steven Heller has written a fascinating book based on something that looks to be a passion. It's not that he is completely skeptical of any form of hypnosis, but he takes a hard look at the ritual and unnecessary dramatics of the professional "hypnotist." The word is in quotes, because you will see it that way all through the book. He was a clinical hypnotist for years. You should know that this title is not "Reader's Digest-level reading," it is intense and academic in approach. Steven Heller does believe in hypnosis, but under a different definition than most are used to. Monsters and Magical Sticks is filled with metaphors, imagery, and amazing success stories of his own case sessions. Learn about the "magic" behind Ericksonian techniques and Neuro-Linguistic Programming. This book will show you how hypnotism really works.

LOVE THIS BOOK
Not only did I find this book instructive, but very entertaining to read. I highly appreciate the fact that this book treats hypnosis as a natural aspect of daily life and yes it can be used intentionally and covertly as in this story from the book:

"One evening, a group of friends and I were having dinner at a local restaurant. Our waiter was very distracted and he appeared to be agitated and depressed. He was abrupt, slow and unfriendly. As a result, our service left a great deal to be desired. Since I wanted to have an enjoyable evening, I decided to "talk funny" to him in order to help him feel better.

As he walked by our table holding a coffee pot, I touched his arm and said, "I'm sorry that you forgot that special night ... with that special person ... those exciting things that happened ... those very warm feelings that would embarrass you to talk about ... since we are all strangers."

For a moment his face went blank; he looked up to his left; his face then lift up and he said, "How do you know about that?" He then smiled and began to laugh, and his whole attitude changed as if by magic. He said, "Wow. that was some night. I don't know how you know about it."

The next time he came to our table, I said to him, "Wasn't it simply amazing that when you remember those happy, warm feelings, your attitude continues to change, and you continue to feel even better?"

We received a delightful service throughout the rest of the evening. What was even nicer, was that as we left he told us that we were one of the nicest parties he had ever waited on. He also asked us to be sure and ask for him whenever we returned.

Now, I have absolutely no idea as to what he hallucinated, but my communication resulted in his going back into his own history. He then found an experience that filled in the blanks, and that memory helped him to change his whole attitude in a matter of seconds. Of course, there's no such thing as hypnosis, and if there is, he should have gone deeper and deeper into a trance."

Monsters and Magical Sticks
Several years ago a friend loaned me his copy of Monsters and Magical Sticks. Within a few pages I knew that I was reading the work of geniuses. For months after I searched for a copy to call my own. Finally I found one. Both my training and therapeutic style have been fantastically improved! I am thrilled that this jewel is now more readily accessible. IT'S A MUST READ FOR EVERYONE WHO CONDUCTS TRAININGS AND/OR THERAPY. My hope is to one day talk with Dr. Heller or Ms. Steele and/or to attend one of their trainings. ...

Great light reading.
It's a good read, if some entertainment and light fantasy is what you want. Fortunately its what I want, and I can say that next to Piers Anthonly's XANTH series, this is the best light fantasy series going.

plus a few for extra good writing
Finally Brooks took some risks and put his characters really on the line. I found this the best plotted one of the series! I loved it. The characters' explorations in their prison are wonderfully done, especially those they make into themselves. I think Brooks put more meat in this one, and that is why I like it so much. You gotta read this one. It is definately the most satisfying of the bunch, with the G'Home Gnomes being the coolest part of the book practically. Read it.

Great Job Terry, Another Piece of Excellent Work!!
I loved this book. Next to THE WITCHES' BREW, this was the best landover novel, Terry really did out do himself this time. I enjoyed this book the whole way through, I never wanted to put it down, and when I did, I picked it up again almost immediatly. I loved all the hardships and obsticles the characters had to face, endure, and over come throughout the course of the book. GREAT JOB!!!!!! This is a must read for anybody and everybody who has ever had a love for the spellbinding magic of a great fantasy novel.

Yet another masterpiece for the doctor
After reading the Doctors masterpiece three times, i had enough of his theta gamma explanations. I am an avid reader who greatly enjoyed the Doctor's complicated explanations. I totally agree with Elvis. Great work again doctor

Top class reference
I've been working in Futures & Options research for 3 years now, and this has proven to be the best refernce guide available. Terrence elucidates the concepts and mechanisms underlying the treasury bond basis with eloquence and intellect. His other work, Eurodollar Futures and Options, is also a great reference for the shorter end of the curve.

THE textbook for basis trading
This is simply the only truly readable and authoritative book on its subject. Terry Belton is acknowledged as being the foremost authority on futures research, and this book bears it out. If you're thinking about basis trading, or work in the derivatives market, this book is well worth a look.

(I should also mention that Terry is my boss..doesn't stop it being a good book, though. Hope I get that raise!)
