Please re-release this book!
My mother has this cookbook and uses it all the time. I wanted to get a copy for myself since she's in California and I'm in New York, and was very disappointed to discover that it's out of print. As the other reviewer said, hopefully they'll put out a new version soon.

This is one of the best books of its kind I have found.
Nearly ten years after publication and this is still one of the best books of its kind I have found. I wonder if there is any chance it will be dusted off, updated, and re-released. I would be one of the first in line--I'd get copies for most of my friends. Not just low fat, and healthy--these recipes are GOOD! And they made me love my microwave.

A must if you want to avoid a money sucking lawyer
I recently became a guardian of my young nephew but could not afford and didn't want to deal with a lawyer. This book made it possible. It layed out the steps in a well structured manner. I was very satisfied with my purchase. The forms it included with the book were just great. Buy it.

Excellent resource, whether or not you will use an attorney!
As an attorney who regularly represents clients in guardianship proceedings, I strongly recommend that my clients read The Guardianship Book so that they understand the sometimes confusing process. In some cases, I hand the book to my clients during our first meeting, as "homework" to read before I will prepare and file a petition. For those who cannot afford an attorney, I recommend this as a resource that will save considerable time and avoid court hearing delays. For clients who can afford to pay my fees, the book still saves my time explaining many issues -- the $25 book can easily save $250 in attorney fees. (Mark J. Welch, Pleasanton, CA)

What happened to Bill?
I agree with the previous review. Bill has a delightful comic voice and a deceptively easy prose style. I thought this book would naturally lead to more by this talented author. Forget Waldo, where's Bill?

Satirical Gem
Charming, goofy, brilliant first-person short stories. Two are among the best stories I've ever read. Bill Franzen - whatever became of him?! - captured the voices of ordinary eccentric Americans - or eccentric ordinary Americans. The one about the church organist is so cool and satisfying and hilarious and poignant that it's worth reading every few years just to remember how perfectly it is wrought. I only wish we could hear from Bill Franzen again.

Stars in Your Heart Reading
Since I'm a writer/editor,I know quite quickly if the material at hand is worthwhile. I give a 10+ evaluation in addition to the Amazon's 5 stars to both The Heart of a Mother and its companion book The Heart of a Father, compiled by Wayne Holmes. I commend the task which resulted in a balanced variety of readings -- from the funny to the poignant. And let me tell you a secret, my husband read all the stories to me, over a period of several weeks, as a bedtime ritual. Both of us laughed and cried together. Our faith was buoyed greatly by the everyday experiences that were shared with us but which showed God's magnanimous love. Thus, the heart of this listerner and my reader were warmed. We look forward to more of Holmes' Heart compilations.

Capturing a Mother's Heart
The Heart of a Mother truly captures all aspects of a mother's heart. A sequel to The Heart of a Father, Wayne Holmes has compiled stories that help us see the depths of a mother's--and by extension, God's--character. Within the pages of this book, the reader will find stories of warmth, tenderness, sacrifice, and love. The reader may even find a story that illustrates his/her own mother's heart to perfection. Buy this book for the woman in your life, and you'll be giving her stories that will challenge and inspire her to be all that God has created her to be.

Hollywoodaholic: Confessions of a Screenwriter
Published in Paperback by Writers Club Press (2002)
Author: A. Wayne Carter
Amazon base price: $18.95
Average review score:

A writer comes of age.
When you read between the sometimes funny, often poignant lines of "Hollywoodaholic," you realize that it is actually a coming of age story. The protagonist, the wayward screenwriter Wayne Carter, through the use of letters written to his loved ones over a 20 year period, shows us how he learned and grew from the ups and downs, loves and losses of his life in the movie business. As you read his letters, you can see his progress as a writer, a man, a friend, a son, a husband, and ultimately, a father. While striving for something just out of reach, he learns over time to trust God and to trust what he has in his hands. At the end of the book, though not the end of his journey, you find that he has found peace. You may also find that while reading the book, you took his journey with him.

Next Stop...Hollywood!
"Hollywoodaholic, Confessions of a Screenwriter" is the tale of one man's dream of making it in Hollywood. Recounted from a journal-like approach, "Hollywoodaholic" is an inspirational and educational vehicle for the professional and the amateur alike. While the book may be somewhat of a Hollywood career guide, the "novel" also reads like one of the author's own extraordinary blockbuster movie adventures!

Instuctions for Single Christians
Dynamic, informative as well as encouraging for christians who are
who are trying to establish a strong relationship with God. This
book teachs how to spot and resist bozo(a.k.a. Satan). It also
teaches us how to escape circus(unrightous)living and how to

How To Steer Clear Of A Bozo And Stay Away From The Circus
The book is awesome. For about three weeks now I have been going through something very personal. As I was reading the book I felt like Apostle Wayne Wallace was speaking directly to me. But before reading this book, I had already made up in my mind to take care of me first, God's way. I have been praying for a husband for years. After reading this book I know what I need to do now. Thank you Apostle Wayne Wallace. Pontiac, MI

An Amazing Story of a Faithful Man and his Accomplishments
This is one of the best books I have ever encountered. It is not only a wonderful testimony of Jay's faith, but it also has the added bonus of Crimson Tide football. This book is perfect for anyone whether or not they are football fans. He deals with his faith and challenges faced throughout life and how he persisted. I highly recommend this for anyone of any age.

Powerful Testimony for Today's Hero Starved World!
Jay Barker goes against the flow of traditional thinking in giving God the praise and glory for all of his accomplishments on and off the field. A superb book for any teen or sports fan.

Incredible Movie..incredible Book
This is a comprehensive and amazing inside look at John Wayne's greatest dream...to recreate on film the TRUE story of one of the most inspiring events in US History. The book explains how the Duke spent 14 years preparing for this film and an equal number of years working to pay the expenses this movie cost him PERSONALLY. He believed in this project so much that he risked EVERYTHING putting it on film....sparing NO EXPENSE...in time, effort and money. The book is packed with glossy color and b&w pictures....interviews, and background information about EVERY aspect of this great motion picture....The Alamo.

Excelent insight into the making of John Wayne's epic film.
This is one of the greatest books concerning the making of Alamo movies. Full of rare pictures and interesting stories behind the making of the epic film. This is one you won't want to pass up
