this book is mind boggling!
i like this book because it gives other perspectives of the so called "curse of Ham." It opens your eyes to the narrow mindedness of one opinion on a certain topic. all should read this book, but only with an open mind!

A SCRIPTURAL VIEW OF HAM
This text provides the long awaited answers that many people of color have long wondered. Am I cursed as the descendant of Ham? Is being black a curse? Begin your journey to answer these questions by reading this scripturally sound argument.

A Definate Must For An Air Force Recruit
This Book is VERY informative. Its complete with pictures, bios, history facts, and breaks down every aspect of the Air Force. If you are thinking about enlisting, or have a friend or relative thinking about it, give them this book. This book has all you need to know, and all you should know about being a NCO in the Air Force.

For new USAF or Air National Guard members, this is a must.
If you are a new member of the US Air Force or Air National Guard, you should spend the money and buy this book. If you are sincere about wanting the most out of your "blue suit" uniformed experience and want to do the best possible job for your country, buy 2 copies and give one to someone you respect and trust. You and they both will learn a great deal.

Aliens Unlimited (Heroes Unlimited)
Published in Paperback by Palladium Books (1994)
Authors: Wayne Breaux, Kevin Siembieda, and Alex Marciniszyn
Amazon base price: $20.95

Excellent resource for RIFTS
My friends and I use this as Rifts resource regularly. We use the alien races often and the weapons/equipment section, which offers generic items, literally dozens of them, minus the backfrouns and pics, so there's more bang per page. Probably a hundred guns, plus armor, bots. AND.. that means they can be given your own names, etc... This is an all rouns good books, even if I haven't done a great job presenting it. USEFUL INFO for once.

Aliens .vs. Superheroes
This is the best accessory to Heroes Unlimited. Everyone who plays superhero games has dreamed of taking the battles and wages of war beyond the planet Earth to Outer Space. Now you can wth the perfect addition and must for Heroes Unlimited players to give a switch and new turn to the game. If you are tired of the same old Superhero saves the city you should run or play this Role-Playing Game. I loved this because it gives new flavor to the Superhero world.

American Newspeak : The Mangling of Meaning for Power and Profit

Laughing while dissecting lies
Sure, we've got a warmongering emperor who can't walk and chew gum. But now we've also got American Newspeak from Wayne Grytting. Although neither a dentist nor a furrier, Grytting can walk, chew gum, dissect mendacity, and wisecrack at the same time. He's not only a hilarious satirist but also a mountain climber, a special-ed teacher, an advanced Zen Buddhist, and an ex-commercial halibut fisherman.
This delightful book gathers together Grytting's exhaustive--but never exhausting--examples of linguistic nonsense by the media, corporations, and government officials. It's a joy to read, and I think George Orwell himself would have applauded Grytting's literary style, social savvy, and philosophical perspective. And jokes. Did I mention the jokes?...

Hilarious and sobering
Wayne Grytting has assembled a hilarious collection of doublespeak and idiocy from our nation's highest politicians and corporate executives, accentuating it with his own scathingly funny commentary. In thematically arranged chapters such as "Legal Disorders", "The Education Mall" and "McHealth and Science-Mart" he exposes examples of newspeak that are beyond anything Orwell thought up. Once again, truth is far stranger than fiction. One of my favorites is an ad executive complaining about advertising in today's oversaturated market: "Consumers are like roaches--you spray them and spray them and they get immune after a while." There are also the perennial politicians condemning soft money while on their way to soft money fundraisers, news anchors condemning a media circus, etc. The un-logic and disconnect from reality displayed by the victims of his satirical pen is mind-boggling and goes a long way towards explaining the cynicism and apathy of today's society. The genius of this book is that after you're done laughing at the absurdity of it all, he gives ideas on how to do something about the absurdity, how to use humor to reconnect with other people and subvert the efforts of the politicians and corporations that try to numb our brains.

concise, and reliable for daily practice, awaiting new edition
Handbook includes disease states, and categorizes medications of primary choice, and provides secondary alternatives. There are excellent abbreviated text outlining etiology and pathophysiological parameters. As well as step wise flow charts as a decision tool and guideline. The tables for medication dosing and comparability between different classes of drugs are extremely helpful, visually and content wise! In hospital pharmacy practice, this handbook has been my peripheral brain.

very complete!
very, very thorough book. it covers essentially every common diseaes state and the treatment for each. i highly recommend it.

Awakened Life

Awakened as in Early Morning
I have read and listened to quite a few of Dwayne's books and tapes and I have to say that this one is the best that I have gone through (I haven't read the "Erroneous Zones" though). But really, maybe it just hit me at this particular moment, but it started really speaking to me. Very good ideas, they are comforting in a way, yes, but also challenging, at least for all of you who have been driving your lives seeking the ultimate success and did not find it there at the top. Well, good job Dwayne!

One I wanted to hear right through as soon as I hit "Play"
This book may epitomise Wayne Dyer's entertaining style of wrapping wisdom in anecdotes which are sometimes funny, sometimes moving and certainly compelling listening.

I wanted to hear it right through in the one afternoon, and once again only days after the first playing, which is unusual for me. If it was a book, you would call it a "page turner".

It hangs together well despite being a very varied collection of observations and stories, and it really transported me to a somewhat better place while I was listening to it. (Which was handy at the time!)

As we say in Australia, a darn good yarn.

Bachelor Bess: The Homesteading Letters of Elizabeth Corey, 1909-1919 (American Land and Life Series)
Published in Hardcover by University of Iowa Press (1990)
Authors: Philip L. Gerber, Elizabeth Corey, and Wayne Franklin
Amazon base price: $44.95
Average review score:

This book is great!
What a courageous woman Bess Corey was to go into the unkown territory of mostly crude men and make a home for herself. She didn't let anyone take advantage of her, yet she was sweet. She was an honest, humorous, hardworking woman. This book kept my interest from beginning to end. The only disappointment was that she didn't write more letters! This would be a great book for anyone who wants to really understand how America was built.

Don't Miss This!
I came across this book purely by accident in the library, and since the title sounded interesting, I decided to check it out just to see what the letters were like. I was expecting dry letters written by a hardened woman. Boy, was I wrong -- I love Bess! She's so funny, and her letters back home are wonderfully descriptive. At 21, she left Iowa to stake a claim in South Dakota. I'm only about a third of the way through the book right now, and she's living alone in a tiny 2-room house on her claim, getting up at 5 to walk two miles through the snow to the schoolhouse where she teaches. At night, she writes these letters home, describing her day in great detail. This book is a treasure. I'm ordering a copy for my home library right now. :-)

Bad Back Book

I tell my back-bothered friends about it.
When I was sentenced, years ago, to two weeks bed rest for sciatica lower back pain, a neighbor lent me the book. I read the humorous real life story of tribulations with surgery, chiropractic, and accupuncture, then started doing the simple exercises in the book's appendix. What a great thing! Slow steady progress until I got back to enjoying tennis at full enthusiasm. I even use one or two of the exercises on a plane for ironing out the kinks from flying for a couple of hours. It has been wonderful for me!

Only thing that helped my back.
Recommended to me 20 years ago by head of Nuclear medicine at San Francisco General Hospital.

Could only stay up for short periods of time before. Now I have no problem and give it to friends who have back trouble.

Must do exercises religiously for long term, but immediate relief with relaxing exercises.

More than "how to.."
I really liked the way this book got into the substance of Christian living without becoming simplistic or listing "five easy steps" or "how to..." This is a really good book! I recommend it very highly. It has something of the flavor of Philip Yancey, but more engaging and less overtly intellectualistic.

Excellent Insights!
This book is a goldmine of insights on Christian living and being authentic. I found the chapter on sexuality ("Beautiful Music on the Human Stereo") to be particularly helpful. You have to read this book!

FIND THESE TAPES!
If you need to laugh, and who doesn't(?) get these tapes! They are too funny to describe here - just trust me on this. You'll feel better in the morning if you take two of these before bed!

You won't be disappointed!
This stuff is hilarious! I don't know how they do it. John Pinette at the buffet and his hottest day of the year in the amusement and water park are some of the funniest things I've ever heard, and each tape is somehow better than the previous one, Brian Regan, Pablo Francisco, Richard Jeni - just thinking of them makes me want to listen again. I laughed so hard I cried. I needed that. Don't miss this set. Beg, borrow, (well, don't steal), but get them.
