Gorgeous!
This book is a visual feast! I love the models; the editors picked a variety of models in many different shapes, sizes, genders, and ages. Many different corset styles come to life on these pages. There are detailed close-up pages to perhaps entice the ambitious tailor or seamstress into attempting to make his/her own corset someday. There are some great costume ideas here. Most of the models look like they are really enjoying themselves. Some of the quotes at the end of the book are very entertaining, some are silly, and all of them illustrate the many reasons why people enjoy dressing up. This is a gorgeous book, extremely reasonably priced, and a great addition to any costumer's or corsetry afficiando's library! (I am just *dying* for my own Dark Garden corset now, by the way.)

Amazingly Sensual and Erotic
This collection of photographs is amazing, the corsets and models are great. I really enjoyed the variety of the models, although my favorite was Natasha, (page 43 and 61), the photographer was perfect at getting the models to relax and each of them really has a distinct persona which comes through not just in the variety of corsets and outfits but also their poses. I collect a lot of Fetish and Fashion books and this one finds just the right balance, showcasing both the corsets and the wonderfully erotic allure of this garment. Victoria's Secret may be selling corsets but if you really want to see how beautiful, sexy, and individual they can be buy this book.

Fetish Fashion: Undressing the Corset
I love the book.. the photographer has an artistically playful eye.
Buy it... read it... drool over the beautiful men and women, all shapes, ages and sizes, in tight laced corsets.
I love pages 86, 42, 46, and oh my, check out page 52 "Slave Dove" bare breasted in a red vinyl corset and ball-gag.
Corset laces have a mysterious and magical effect... the tighter they are the hotter I get!!

Lost by David McPhail
As an elementary educator, I highly recommend this book for both teachers and parents of young children. The power of reading over watching television has substantial research and ultimately confirms that reading is a powerful tool. David McPhail is my hero when it comes to writing and illustrating text. His delightful message is not only for Emma the bear, but for all children. Read Read Read.

A Great Little Book
David McPhail's "Fix-It" is a charming way to introduce reading to beginning or relunctant readers. Emma wakes up one morning to find the television set not working. Her dad, mom and even the repairman are unable to fix it. When the T.V. problem is finally solved, Emma no longer cares. She has found an equally enjoyable activity, reading a book. Although this book could be considered a "baby book" by more "experienced" readers, preschoolers should be able to find this book appealing. The message that the book is trying to get across to children is great. The illustrations are soft and help tell the story accurately. This book has charm and should be enjoyed by a variety of children.

Great for pre-readers and beginning readers!
David McPhail's Fix-it! is a charming book. The illustrations are clear; the text is simple. It is good for pre-readers and beginning readers. The book promotes reading with your children.

A Great Book!!!
For me, this book was truely inspirational, a breath of fresh air. I, (like many many others in society,I'm sure) used to believe that there was little room for God or our faith in the business world. It was just dog-eat-dog, Monday to Friday. Larry Julian shows you just how uninformed that thinking is. He interviews not just average business men & women, but captains of industry. True leaders in their field. And he shows you how these people not only believe in God, but practice their Faith and follow HIS teachings EVERY DAY. It is WHY they are so successful.
For those of you who think they have to choose between God or business, read this book.

Interesting, inspirational reading
America is populated by a great many people who attend religious services on a regular basis. They affiliate with a congregation of people who think, believe, and worship as they do. Millions of people build their lives around their religious beliefs and principles.

Then there's business. In the world of business, profit is worshipped by corporate leaders and employees at all levels. Achieving corporate goals becomes all-consuming, with little room for bible-based principles. Biblical teachings are fine for the personal side of life, but business is business. Or is it?

The movement known as spirituality in the workplace has been gaining momentum, with supporters careful to differentiate between spirituality and religion. The human spirit is central to the corporate spirituality theme, but God and religion do seem to find their way into the picture. When people express their spirituality, their religious beliefs underlie their values and approach, even if specific teachings are not overtly expressed.

In God is My CEO, Larry Julian surveys the landscape through the stories of twenty well-respected leaders. Each of these influential people runs a business through the application of biblical principles, with great results. You'll learn from people like Bill George, CEO of Medtronic; Jerry Colangelo, owner of the Phoenix Suns and the Arizona Diamondbacks; Al Quie, the former governor of the state of Minnesota; and Archie Dunham, Chairman and CEO of Conoco, Inc.; Horst Schulz, CEO of the Ritz Carlton Hotel Company; and Truett Cathy, founder and Chairman of Chick-Fil-A, an amazingly successful quick service restaurant chain that's always closed on Sunday.

The helpful organization of the book takes us first through an understanding of the Clash of Two Worlds. You'll learn about the relationships and conflicts between profits and principles. The ten sections that follow each includes a statement of the issue and Julian's suggestion of a solution. The rest of each section is two chapters telling the story of the biblically-based executives. The ten sections are Purpose, Success, Courage, Patience, Leadership by Example, Yielding Control, Tough Decisions, Servant Leadership, Integration, and Priorities.

Each chapter explores real-life issues with some intriguing stories that will make you think. The religious theme is, of course, prominent in this book. However, while it is ever-present, the biblical message is comfortably woven into the vignettes. You'll be surprised how fast a read this book is, as you turn page after page to follow the stories.

Julian Captures the New Spirit of Business!
In his powerful book, _God Is My CEO_, Larry Julian moves the "bottom line" in business from "profit no matter what" to "profit from doing the right thing". Written from experiences in the trenches of the business world, this authoritative book contains real, personal stories from real people who have the courage to wrestle with real challenges and solve their dilemmas using their true beliefs, not the just latest fad management techniques. Julian's ability to get today's business leaders to bare their hearts and share their personal struggles allows_God Is My CEO_ to build a very credible case for tuning in and listening to the higher power that exists in all of us. The moving accounts of leadership turmoil and victory, the thought-provoking discussion questions and the immensely helpful "how-to's" found in this book make it a work that should be read and re-read by all of us who lead businesses today. I give my highest praise to _God Is My CEO_. It's the right thing to do.

Well Written
This well written book gives parents the information needed to deal with children who still feel "we owe them." It puts into perspective how to talk to our adult children and how to respond to their demands. Plenty of good insight and plenty of the right antidotes. Excellent resource for parents with adult children at home.
Using ToughLove concepts in a gentle manner, this book is a great read for parents with adult children still living at home. Help your adult child become independent and enjoy the rewards of successfull parenting and your own freedom

The Absolute Best Book on the Golf Swing
I bought this book from a used book store for $4 because it was cheap. I then put it in a drawer for eight months and forgot about it. Fortunately, I recently pulled it out for a second look. I'm a seven handicap and have read numerous books on the golf swing; many written by contemporary "gurus" and high profile players, as well as most of the classics. I thought I possessed a solid understanding of the golf swing -- until I read this book. I'm now considering boxing up the others and storing them in the garage. In How to Become a Complete Golfer, Mssrs. Toski and Flick provide the most thorough and honest explanation of the golf swing I've come across. This book exposes various myths promolgated by many in the golf instruction industry. However, it is no quick simplification of the swing; it's like a golf text book. It indepthly describes the causes and effects of a proper swing. If you're willing to spend the time studying and incorporating what Toski and Flick teach, you'll gain a true understanding of the golf swing. Although the book is currently out of print, I highly recommend tracking down a copy. It will be well worth the time and expense. I can already see real improvement in my ball striking and expect to have strokes start falling off my handicap very soon.

The "Bible" for serious golfers
If I could only have one golf book, this is it. From grip to putt, you get a clear mental picture of the best techniques to get the ball in the hole. It suggests two or three images to feel the "feeling" for each technique that I found very useful on the practice range. It is my golf bible. It helped me improve 6 shots down to scratch.

This book is a classic
Hard to improve on the previous editions, however, I like the tremendous online support that accompanies this newest edition. As always the text is consistantly readable, and the authors do a good job of dealing with the broad scope of the subject.

The best you can get!
The Integrated Principles of Zoology is the most thorough of the three in the Hickman/Zoology series. For a collegiate zoology/animal biology course, you can't find anything better. The 5th edition was the college/university standard back in 1975 when I took Zoology, and in the 11th edition is still the standard now when I teach Zoology. The text has been significantly revised since the 10th edition, with a terrific art program.

Four Star Book
This book told me everything I needed to know about zoology. It had a glossary in the back for words I didn't recognize and it was very informative. It is made like a text book for high school or college students.

The Most Unlikely Relationship Since Wilber and Mr. Ed
If you're under sixty, you probably remember Johnnie Ray and Dorothy Kilgallen (if at all) from corney pop songs (his) and the worst game show in TV history (What's My Line.)

Pity!

Bonnie Hearn Hill and Larry Hill will introduce you to an immensely talented singer (25 top ten hits in the '50s and a passionate jazz interpreter) and the intrepid journalist who covered Lindberg and Sam Shepherd and, had she not died under surious circumstances, might have broken the story of JFK's assasination wide open. They will offer you a voyeur's tour of the unlikely affair between a bisexual vocalist and the columnist (15 years his senior) that Sinatra loved to hate. And as you cut through the alcoholic haze surrounding their extended relationship, you'll find yourself captivated by and caring about both of them. And you may come to realize that it was never, really, only about the sex.

Just don't let the characters distract you.

Bonnie Hearn Hill and Larry Hill are writers of talent and style who will captivate you and carry you along, shifting smoothly from Johnnie's hipster rap to the objective third person presentation of Dorothy's pov that, you suspect, might have been the way she looked at her life before JR.

If Johnnie Ray and Miss Kilgallen doesn't send you searching the web for his tunes and her columns, as well as anything written by the Hills, I'll be surprised.

Back to the 50s
This book transported me back to the 1950s--the Copa, seedy gin mills and tony cocktail parties in New York penthouses, as well as recording studios peopled by some of the old legends. What great portraits of Dorothy Kilgallen, the sweet innocent we all knew from What's My Line, and pop singer Johnny Ray, the "Elvis before there was an Elvis," and one of the original hipsters--and all told from the inside! As I read, it was hard to believe this was a novelization rather than a memoir from each of their points of view. We baby boomers thought we invented sex in the 60s. If so, then Dorothy and Johnny Ray were WAY ahead of their time. The entire country knew and loved the public identities of these two people--now, to get a glimpse at the real behind-the-scenes incidents, and the very human drives that led them through sex, drinking, a sampling of drugs, all the way to the doorstep of the Kennedy assassination mystery, is an exhilerating experience. I felt like I was down on the street with them, smelling the smells, hearing the music, tasting the vodka, waiting for What's My Line to come on the tube.

A surprising and intriguing book.
For anyone who remembers Johnny Ray and Miss Kilgallen of What's My Line fame, this story is a must read. Not only will it create nostalgia for a different time, it opens a surprising window for the reader to peep through.

The fact that Johnny Ray and Dorothy Kilgallen had an affair is only the beginning of the surprises in this book.

The husband and wife team of Bonnie Hearn Hill and Larry Hill have created a fascinating work revealing an unknown side of two celebreties of a past era.

The Jolly Art of Junking: Finding Treasure in the Trash & Other Fun Places

Suprisingly Readable... Fun, Too
Davis, in a stroke of genius, has written a book about, well, junk. We all have it, we are all loathe to part with it, we're forever buying more of it and no one ever seems to know what to do with it. Davis knows, though, and she graciously invites us into her home via Townsend's photographs to see exactly how lining our walls with junk can make our homes exquisite.

Davis has written a readable, highlightable little book in her unique and playful style and has consequently introduced us to the treasures that lie dusty in our own garages. Everyone who lives within 200 miles of a flea market must own this book!

Great fun! Really a neat little book with good ideas.
I really enjoyed reading the book. It is fun and has a lot of ideas for "junk" a holics.

Quite enjoyable! Lots of fun neat ideas.
The book was really a lot of fun! I enjoyed it.

Thoughtful and funny
Thoughtful and funny, without the cheap shots that too often drive sports journalism columns, this book reads like a series of wry letters from a friend. Based in Orlando, Guest writes extensively but not exclusively about Florida-related sports, especially the Sunshine State's obsession with football, but not to the exclusion of the Winter Olympics, the Ryder Cup, and the Masters. You can practically see him on the golf course or the racetrack, looking past the stats for the human stories underneath. Highly recommended.

Well written, hilarious takes on sports and life.
Larry's takes on a business which takes itself much too seriously are just hillarious! The book is well written and well worth the time and money. It's like having Dave Barry as a sports writer. You'll be glad you got this book!

Great light reading for any sports fan
I recently read this book cover-to-cover on an airplane and laughed my way through it. The book hits most of the major sports and contains many insider anecdotes about major sports figures. Guest keeps the fun in sports and reminds us all that it is just a game.

Insects & Spiders; beautiful
Yes, I have bought a book "How to photograph Insects & Spiders" by Larry West with Julie Ridl. The mentioned book includes five parts which spread across main problems concerning the macro-photography. The authors write about special accessories for this photo-category and they show their photo-macro gears inclusive the special tools. How use a tripod, tripod heads, an extension rings, multipliers and flash. The book describes a negative/positive film differences and shortly look at the E-6 and K-14 developing process. Larry West has opened own Portfolio with many, many beautiful color photohraphies (mailny spiders - Misumena vatia, Geolycosa turricola, Lycosa gulosa,...). He describes a tonal tricks for take a shot on slides. Where to meter a background and meter some white part photography field. The book includes a magnification table for Area Covered, Subjects and Equipment.
I can recommend this book for beginners even for pros too (Rene Novak, studio er67 - prague).

The secrets are very simple
Thanks to West for an extra-ordinary work and interest to publish this book of his experience. The depth of coverage was excellent! This is a sort of bible for amateur and pros for taking insects. Simple instruments (cost effective) suggested by West. I could afford to buy the recommended accessories next day of receiving the book, locally. Believe me, I have gone through the book (about 175 pages) in one breath, overnight, sacrificing my sleep for the excellent creatures of God. I rate this 5 star, because you need to estimate my review only after you read the book.

Great Advice from a Great Photographer
One thing I love about this book is that West talks about techniques such as stacking supplementaries that John Shaw advises against. It just shows there is more than one way to achieve your desired magnification. West does a great job of outlining subjects such as exposure and equipment, both of which are vital in this type of photography. However, he also provides in depth coverage on his approach to finding and working with insects in the field-a topic of at least equal importance. He backs up his advice with superb examples of his work. A great book that pleasantly surprised me!
