Debra Tash is clearly a gifted writer
Set in ancient Mesopotamia, Debra Tash's historical novel, The Maiden's Song is the compelling story of one man who holds within him the potential for creating the first empire, and the haunting melody sung by the beautiful woman he saved from death. A saga of love, adventure, and the dawn of civilization, The Maiden's Song is an engaging read filled with a strong sense of place and destiny. Debra Tash is clearly a gifted writer and one to keep track of!

A great new breakout novel
Debra Tash, mark down that name, you are going to see it again. If this novel is any indication of what we can expect from her the future is bright. In Maiden's Song we follow the adventures of a Nari-mataini a young woman scheduled for human sacrafice in ancient Ur. Not appreciating the opportunity she is facing, she flees and ends up being saved by a slave named Sargon. They fall in love and the novel follows their adventures: he founding the worlds first great empire and she fleeing the king of Ur who still wants her dead. She goes to Egypt, is captured by a slave trader, etc all the while trying to get back to Sargon. But enough of telling he story, read it for yourself.

The Maiden's Song
Excellent historical novel. Well written. Would like to see more from this author.

The Circle Continues
In "Night Flying Woman, An Ojibway Narrative," Ignatia Broker tells the story of the forest people, the Ojibway. She shows how the white man's ways desecrated the rituals, laws and beliefs of the Native People, all but erasing their long culture. Classed as caricatures in a land that once honord them, Brokers shows how the Native People "faced bias, prejudice and active discrimination." The Ojibway philosophy for living, that of keeping in balance the purity of man and nature, is revived through Broker's telling of Oona's story, the story of many as seen through the "eyes cast down" of one. An insightful story that continues the Ojibway circle and gives us all the hope of the past for the future.

Excellent Read
I sat and read this in one sitting. It was that good. An excellent lesson in not needing all the gadgetry this world offers in order to be happy. A great reminder for all of us that we need to care for each other in order we all can survive.

Love and Family
Ignatia Broker through the eyes of Oona engages the reader in a world of change. Oona learns to adapt to her environment and listens to her elders voices. This story engages the reader from the first page to the last. With beautiful drawings and a tale of survival the reader gains an indepth perspective into Oona's reality. It touched me on an emotional level and reminded me of a past which must be remembered.

The sequel I was waiting for...
The first book was an amazing journey for me, and to read the second book was just as wonderful as the first. It left me wondering if there was a third book. A must read!

There is always more to know.
Have you read her first book? You'll be happy to read this one too, and share her experience. Learn more about autism, conquering it, and dealing with it.

Should be A prescribed Text ............
Donna Williams book 'Somebody Somewhere' is one of those books that opens your mind - and makes you want to stand up and applaud human courage. My personal interests include psychology, child development, communication, extra sensory perception psychic ability, and Metaphysics. Donna Williams sharing of her 'world' inadvertently embraced all these subjects, and made me highly aware - not of 'differences' but of 'similarities'. Our human need to be understood, to be treated with dignity, and to be accepted in our individuality.

Donna Williams is truly an Expert on the world of Autism, way beyond the usual sets of clinical observations, and range of treatments designed to 'normalise'. We 'normals' do have to rethink the term 'dis-abled'!

ATTENTION GETTER - 2ND OF 3 PARTS!
"Cover Me" is the 2nd of 3 parts of a great story!
Marshal Spence Cantrell is working with FBI Agent Mason Taggart to bring about the release of the hostages taken in the hi-jacking of the U.S. Marshals' Flight 407 by Carl Hart.

Carl Hart is being talked into giving up hostages for each and every demand he makes to get Flight 407 under way. He is willing to give up more hostages in exchange for his ex-wife, Kelly Jackson. Kelly is terrified of Carl.

Spence Cantrell promises Kelly that she will not have to face Carl alone. Can he keep that promise? Agent Taggart has his own agenda and it doesn't include losing any hostages.

Wouldn't you just like to know the real reason Carl desperately needs Kelly? Kelly was shocked to find out the reason. Cantrell was not about to lose Kelly, not after she thawed out his frozen heart.

Wow! passion and action, you can't beat it. These 3 authors stories flow into each other to make a complete book without losing touch with the characters. This is a really great accomplishment that produces a great story and holds you enthralled to the end -- Highly Recommended with a triple --M.

WOW! THE BEGINNING OF A GREAT 3 PARTER!
"Midnight Seduction" is the first part of a great 3 part story.
Here is Christine Logan, just 2 days on the job, as Airport Director of the Sam Houston International Airport, Texas where she will have to meet up with Quinn Buchanan, the cop who left her 3 years ago.

Quinn Buchanan had to walk away from Christine amid an overwhelming sense of guilt and grief - only now to find out that his love for her is as strong as ever.

These two wounded souls must make a powerful effort to put the past behind them and try to get the Airport operational after being hit by a tornado. Destruction is everywhere.

Now a hi-jacking crisis was added to the mix -- FBI Agent Mason Taggart is working with Marshal Spence Contrell to secure the release of the 108 hostages on board Flight 407, taken over by Carl Hart.

It is up to Captain Quinn Buchanan. as chief of police security for the Airport, to find out who smuggled a gun on board the "flying prison". And at the last minute to save Christine.

This one you won't want to put down. Reminds you of some of the good movies. Highly Recommended with triple --M -- these gals did an excellent job of story telling.

WHOAAA! TALK ABOUT A GREAT STORY
This is the kind movies are made of.
M. Lovelace offers the third and tie-in story to this high-jacking of the U.S. Marshals' Flight 407.
With a daring midair transfer [done only in movies according to Lt. Col. "Howie" Howard], Suzanne Delachek proposed to bring down the crippled 727 in the Florida Everglades.

With the pilot dead and the co-pilot having a heart attack the only person that could take contol of the 727 was the convict, Ryder Hamilton, whose only qualifications were flying bug smashers. He was being helped by wounded Marshall Spence Cantrell, the first one to recognize an inherant goodness in this convict.

Find out how Ryder gets the help needed to clear himself. And how 3 couples find their life partners.

Highly Recommended 3 part story - except for all the uncommited sex - the stories tied in beautifully and involved you in their characters trials and tribulations and left you anxious to find out how it all ends. Did any one ever get pregnant? What a waste if not. triple --M

Great book
One of the best books for women you can buy. Deborah Gawrych is a successful seminar leader and inspirational mentor who has written this valuable guide to seven personality archetypes. She tells us what type we are, how we can work with it, and how we can handle relationships with people of other types. She teaches us about the seven major stumbling blocks. A wonderful book filled with practical information and exercises for self-discovery. Highly recommended.

Very highly recommended reading for women of all ages
It is fitting that a portion of the proceeds for Debra Gawrych's The Seven Aspects of Sisterhood: Empowering Women Through Self-Discovery go to Breast Cancer Research Expedition Inspiration ... and the Women's World Bank ..., for the purpose of The Seven Aspects of Sisterhood was written to help women help themselves to lead better, fuller lives. Gawrych shows women how to analyze their own personalities against the seven archetypal models of Warrior, Scholar, King, Priest, Server, Storyteller, and Artisan; armed with new self-knowledge, one is ready to better understand and react to the many trials that daily life has in store. The Seven Aspects Of Sisterhood teaches the reader how to discover courage, act rather than react, resolve conflict, and find one's center in a turbulent, unbalanced world. Very highly recommended reading for women of all ages, backgrounds and circumstances.

Inspirational and Timely
I found this book inspirational and timely. The point of the point is relevant in this period we face of grief and confusion and in our attempts to get past our differences. This book speaks to just that; how do we get to nonjudgment.

I especially enjoyed taking the personality test. It was eye-opening and entertaining. The part about celebrities and famous people made it easy to understand the different aspects and I found it to be very much in alignment with who I am.

Personal Protector (Harlequin Intrigue Series, No. 659)

Personal Protector
Debra Webb's Colby Agency takes on another case in "Personal Protector," when Ric Martinez is called in to protect Atlanta reporter Piper Ryan. A terrorist group is killing reporters who aired negative stories on them, and Piper is on the list. Ric goes undercover as Piper's cameraman to keep close to her. Can he save the life of a woman he's also drawn to with a fierce passion?

This is another expertly written tale by Webb, an author with a strong, sure voice and a true way with words. The characters and the romance in "Personal Protector" are flawless. Ric and Piper are both fully-fleshed, realistic people who come to life for the reader. There is real character conflict they must overcome and strong development in their relationship. The sexual chemistry is high and the love scenes sizzle. This is a romance to thrill.

At the same time, the suspense in "Personal Protector" is so frustrating that I had to keep putting the book down to keep from getting too annoyed. From the start I had basic questions about the premise that went unanswered for a long time. For instance, it was almost a hundred pages in before Webb revealed that this was a domestic terrorist group and what their cause was. It could be a sign of our times that I would assume that a terrorist group would be foreign. This does seem to be a basic element that should have been spelled out at the start.

The biggest problem with "Personal Protector" is that the plot development is too contrived. This isn't a story where we wonder how the villains will strike next. It's one where we wonder how the heroine will put herself in danger this time. It bothered me to no end that so many of the threats to Piper were avoidable. The only reason they took place was because of Piper's insistence on putting herself in dangerous situations. Ric tells her over and over that she should not be doing certain things. He keeps warning her about safety and makes suggestions that make perfect sense. She never listens. I wanted to shake her and say "Listen to him!" Perhaps I'm not driven enough to think a career is more important than staying alive. I couldn't work up much sympathy for a woman who thought that way. When he's trying to keep her alive and all she cares about is getting an interview, my patience ran out. The best and worst example comes near the end. The climax of "Personal Protector" is very creative and exciting, but again, Ric saw it coming. It was avoidable. He made a specific point to Piper that would have prevented it from happening. But no, Piper blows off his concern. While very tense and frightening, I couldn't completely get into the final action sequence because I kept thinking, "This didn't have to happen." If Piper hadn't been so stubborn, it wouldn't have. There's a problem with a suspense plot when the heroine does more to set up the danger than the villains do. She reminds me of those dumb girls in horror movies who are always running right toward the killer when the audience knows she should be going the other way. Then the audience doesn't feel bad for her, they cheer because she's so stupid she's getting exactly what she deserves. Reading the story became like anticipating a train crash you know doesn't have to happen but can't stop. I grew weary seeing this woman throw herself into dangerous situations again and again. She was asking for every terrible thing that happened to her.

Although "Personal Protector" is one of the best-written Intrigues of the year, I couldn't lose myself in the story. Some readers may not have the same problem. I know many people enjoyed Webb's "Protective Custody," where I thought the supposedly strong heroine was merely stupid for placing herself in danger over and over and over again and insisting she didn't need the hero to keep her safe when her actions said she did. "Personal Protector" has the same problem, though without the nasty edge and downright meanness between the hero and heroine. One of the pleasures of "Personal Protector," and there are many of them, is the way the characters' initial hostility gives way to a meaningful, emotional love story. "Personal Protector" is a book that can be enjoyed for its romance, good characters and sensual scenes. This is a rare Intrigue where the couple meet, have personal issues to overcome in their relationship and convince us their love will last. Some readers may find the suspense more frustrating than satisfying. Beautifully written, I thought for a while this would be Webb's best book yet. For me it needed more of a plot than "What stupid thing is Piper going to do now?"

Hot & sexy!!!!
Piper Ryan is a leading Atlanta news reporter and her new camera man Ric Martinez has her in an emotional uproar. His dark sexy Latino looks is a major distraction for Piper and she is determined to see him bumped from his position before she succumbs to her true desires.

Ric is an agent for Colby Agency and is working undercover to protect Piper from a dangerous threat to her life. This assignment is the most important of Ric's career, and his life, as he falls hard for the gorgeous reporter.

Wow....I have never enjoyed a Harlequin Intrigue more!! The story practically oozes sexual tension with satisfying scenes of abandonment and the explosive "on the edge" plot twist will astound you. Plus, I adore foreign heroes so Ric Martinez had my temperature rising from the minute he appeared. He is one hot tamale!!

ANOTHER RED-HOT READ!!
If you're looking for a hot read with edge-of-your-seat suspense, then PERSONAL PROTECTOR is the book for you. The characters in this story are larger than life and I particularly loved the heroine in this story. Webb, unequivocably one of the best romantic suspense authors to hit the Harlequin scene in more than a decade, has a strong voice, a hot hand with plot, and is notorious for her incredibly drawn heroes. Ric Martinez, gentle readers, is DEFINITELY one of those heroes and Webb matched him perfectly with Piper Ryan, an in-your-face, independent, headstrong heroine who compliments him perfectly.

I won't give away plot here--there's one zealous reviewer who has a nasty habit of doing that and I've learned to studiously avoid her posts--because I don't believe that's the point of these reviews. I enjoyed this book tremendously. As with all of Webb's books, it's a keeper.

Strange Bedfellows

Authors: Dominic Santi and Debra Hyde
Amazon base price: $21.99
Used price: $17.60

Average review score:

Great collection and not exactly what you might think
Hyde contributes two stories and Santi contributes one piece to this collection of thirteen erotic tales that touch on politics in some way. The first half of the collection contains the best pieces of the entire collection with Hyde's contributions being among the very best. All orientations and roles are explored to some extent though the gay politican and the sex for votes ideas are the most common. Not all the stories look at politicans however or look at voters and politicans -- sometimes the politicans are together and sometimes it is only political views and platforms that are touched upon. This collection is a fun read if you don't take it too seriously but you may not want to give it to a very sexually conservative friend.

Great Concept! Great Writing!
"Strange Bedfellows" follows a concept that seems to be ripped from the headlines: politics mixed with sex. But you can bet that things were never this hot between Bill and Monica!

The authors serve up every variety of erotic writing - straight, gay, lesbian, bisexual - which keeps things interesting. The quality of the writing is consistently excellent; this is not just naughty scribbling, this is literature by real writers! My favorites: Rob Byrnes's "Media Relations," in which a right-wing senator's hypocrisy is hilariously exposed; and Michael Stamp's "Shake Your Money-Maker."

A smart and sexy Collection
The ten short stories that make up this collection have been chosen very well; every one of them is pacy, funny, and as hot as you'll find anywhere. What made it work for me was the wit and invention all the writers brought to the book's theme - the skulduggery and sexual powerplay of politics.

Out of ten stories I expected to find at least a couple of duff ones, but by the end I suspected the editors had more trouble leaving stories out than finding ones to put in. This is a high-class collection and a hoot to read - strongly recommended!

I bought this book today, and finished it today. I could not put it down. It's a Terrific book! If you love Party of five, I highly recommend this book. It is told from Caludia's point of veiw which is awesome. I love this book! I'm going to read it again tonight. Hey maybe I'll finish it tonight. I very highly recommend this book. If you get it, you won't regret it!

Good book with happy ending!!
I thought that this book is a must-have for any Party of Five fan. It tells the true problems that the Salingers go throgh. One thing that I did not enjoy about this book, was that, they say the word 'cool' way too much! I know that is not that big of a deal, but it really started getting on my nerves by the 2nd chapter. I read this book during the summer well Po5 is not on. I am very glad that I read this book. I recommend it if you like the word 'cool'! ~thanks~

This book was exciting.
I think that this book was great! I read it over the summer so I didn't put it down much. When I put it down it was a "Waht will happen next?" question. I read it again and again and loved it! It's a really good book to me.
