From diet to lifestyle triggers for depression
Women & Depression provides a self-help guide which explores not only the symptoms and treatment of depression, but keys to understanding how it evolves. Many struggles with depression are the result of women participating in careers designed for men, without consideration of pregnancy and other changes in a woman's life. From diet to lifestyle triggers for depression, this provides some important keys to understanding.

A must have for women suffering from depression
I had recently been diagnosed with depression and was sure they had it wrong. My opinion of depression was people sitting around moaning about how bad their life is. I was so wrong and this book helped me recognize so many things in myself that were always attributed to me just being me. Ms. Rosenthal gives straight-forward advice and a no-holds barred look at how depression can affect women so differently than men. I would highly reccomend this book for women with questions regarding depression and for their families as it is extremely insightful. My sister now realizes that I actually do have a problem that I can't just "snap out of".

Refreshing and Timely Prayer Book for Women and Men
Thank you Elizabeth, Marjorie and Ann and associates for this exquisite book. It is a remarkable collection of thoughtful, devoted prayers and insights. Truly inspired! Truly welcome! A gift to women and men of faith.

My only disappointment is in the title of the book. The contents are very common indeed to women and are raised in common voice to God. The title, Women's Uncommon Prayers, trivializes and marginalizes the work. The Book of Common Prayer already marginalizes women because of its lack of inclusive language. This title, Women's Uncommon Prayers, perpetuates that by implication that women's work of worship and prayer is uncommon and at the margins of serious prayer and certainly of common / corporate (men and women) worship.

Women's Uncommon Prayers: Our Lives Revealed, Nurtured, Cele
What an amazing collection of prayers by and for the voice of women! A variety of topics, rich imagery, and amazing ways to connect with God in language that speaks from women's perspectives qualify for this book a prominent place on any woman's nightstand and/or bookshelf. I laugh at some thoughts, and cry at the astonishing way others are able to say what fails my voice. If you are a male, this book presents a rare opportunity to gain a peek into the hearts of women and their prayers to God. Advent and Christmas are approaching - stock up and give as gifts that will bring faith, renewal, and celebration for many years to come. My thanks to the compilers and the contributors of this terrific resource! You are a blessing to women everywhere.

Beautifully photographed quilts and explanations.
This book was bought at full purchase price, but I'd do it again. The photography is outstanding. The examples of the whole quilts excite and dare you to try your hand at creating your own. I do plan on it! I want to find more of Debra Wagner's books.

My favorite artist
This book is excellent. I bought it at the exhibit of the same name, that was put together by the Phillips Collection. It was a great show and this is the only way to see it now. Dove was the first abstract painter, at the same time as Kandinsky but having never seen Kandinsky's work until several years later.

The Arthurian Handbook (Second Edition)
Published in Library Binding by Garland Publishing (1997)
Authors: Norris J. Lacy, Geoffrey Ashe, and Debra N. Mancoff
Amazon base price: $90.00
Average review score:

Excellent survey of Arthurian literature for scholars
If you want to know about the evolution of the Arthurian legends, from their basis in history to their literary evolution, this is a perfect book for you.

The book traces the history of tales through the most ancient works from Wales and Brittany, through the evolution of the stories by various authors -- Chretien de Troyes, Wolfram von Eschenbach, Thomas Malory, and even considers works from the nineteenth and twentieth century (Tennyson, the marvelous though largely unread works of Charles Williams, T.S. Eliot, T.H. White, and even Monty Python and the Holy Grail)

The book is an indispensable reference for keeping the legends straight in your mind, especially where there are differences of opinion (for instance, was the Grail a platter, a stone, or a chalice for the author).

The book is intended as a reference book, so it is not for someone looking to read a story or two -- it is meant to be a guide to understanding the literary development of the cycle.

As such, it is an indispensable guide to the various works out there.
