finally something smart and jargon-free in lit criticism
very very good, no jargon, analytical, no genuflection to postmodernist shibboleths, packed with ideas,

Superb interdisciplinary scholarship
A model of interdisciplinary/literary scholarship. The prose is lucid and informative, the ideas innovative, and the overall effect of a densely packed but readable study.

A Book for Toddlers to Read to Their Parents
Blocks was so much fun for our baby. He memorized it from our earliest readings. He kept it under his pillow and "read" it to us every night at bedtime. What a delightful book!

The one book my kid won't give up!
Colorful, simple for the kids to grasp and easy to play along with. Everybody has blocks, don't they?

Wonderfully entertaining historical fiction
Most of the Nate Heller books are good. This one is very good. I enjoy the characters and the ties to history. Basically, a Forrest Gump/Spencer type of read.

Nate Heller tries to stop Huey Long from being killed.
It was an excellent book. A little bit too much language. It got crazy on pg. 140 (read that page). It had a whole bunch of explosive sex. And a whole lot of bloodshed.

Hilarious and Charming.
We LOVED this book - What a wonder sense of humor this author has! It's great take off on some standard fables. I wish I could by this book for each and every child between the ages of 4 & 7.

One of the Best Ever kid's strories I have read
The best thing about this book for me was the fact that I, as an adult, could enjoy it as much as the children. It is totally different to any other children's book I have read. I found it to be witty, charming, and imaginative.

The story sounds like something thought up by a parent and young child, with ideas from both, and some teasing from the parent. Altogether a great read, and something I would definitely reccommend to young readers

Very good
An excellent historical mystery, with Collin's Nate Heller filling the role of an real-life private detective who investigated the murder of Sir Harry Oaks.

Look for the reference to Dick Tracy that Collins ames at the end: "It hurts."

Intense storyline
A fitional novel about an actual event that held my interest better than any other non-fiction books on the Death of Sir Harry Oakes

A great casebook.
Farnsworth's love of human trivia makes this case book far more compelling than most. It is a captivating introduction to the subject.

Excellent casebook.
I learned contracts with this book and it is excellent!

My favorite book of Christmas selections! A must have!
I am an intermediate to lower-advanced level classical guitarist. Without a doubt, this is my favorite book of solo Christmas selections. Most of the arrangements in this book are intermediate in difficultly, though one or two (such as Pata Pan) are more challenging. Allan Alexander is an extremely talented composer and arranger, and his arrangements of Christmas selections will not disappoint. The tunes are all familiar. My personal favorites are I Saw Three Ships, The Holly and the Ivy, The Sussex Carol, and What Child is This, though they are all tremendous. I played a couple of these in church during the advent season, and they were extremely well-received. The thing I like best about Allan's stuff are his variations, which are so intelligent! The selections are all extremely accessible, and most addictive. I never get tired of playing his arrangements. Enjoy!

Wonderfully original tunes to play.
Not the usual compilation of Christmas tunes but a delightful departure for anyone wishing some original music for the season. The variations are creative and a joy to play. I enjoyed them all.

Delicious recipes that have become a staple of our holiday
I got this cookbook just before I got married, when I hosted my first Thanksgiving. I've used it for several years now, and many of the recipes in it - including the gingered sweet pototato pudding, the glazed parsnips and carrots, and the pumpkin cheesecake - have become staples of my family's celebration. I haven't tried a single recipe in this book that wasn't utterly delicious. It offers creative twists on traditional holiday fare, so it satisfies both the gourmets and the traditional holiday eaters. It also includes several recipes for "extras" (such as a yummy and very easy recipe for minted cranberry sauce). While some of the recipes take a little extra effort over your traditional mashed potatoes and stuffing, they are very well worth it. Even my husband, whose palette is hardly experimental, loves *everything* I've made from this book. I've now given it as a gift to several of my friends, all of whom have found new recipes to treasure in it!

This cookbook is a must for get-togethers
This is hands-down the best cookbook for the holidays, or anyday really. Everyone loves the cranberry relish and yams.

A great book for preparing for the AP exam
This is a truly wonderful book, and I'm glad our english teacher Ms. Kasper recommended it to us.

Excellent preparation for anyone planning to take the exam
This book is intelligently and efficiently written and doesn't talk down to its readers. I like the matter-of-fact way in which the author defines terms and gives suggestions. The sample questions and passages were extremely helpful. One of the particularly valuable things about the book was the analysis of good and poor essay answers. It helped me understand what AP exam readers are looking for. According to the back cover of the book, the author himself has been involved in writing and scoring the AP English Lit exam for many years. That in itself is a powerful reason for using this book.
