EXCELLENT MARRIAGE OF HISTORY & CHRISTIAN LEADERSHIP LESSONS
I am a leadership trainer and give over 200 programs per year. My leadership library is extensive and varied. Most of the new leadership books are just "love song" books - they are saying the same thing in a different way. In this book, the messages are the same, but the writing methodology is fresh and different.

James has accomplished an intriguing and "page turner" leadership lessons book by including detailed historic examples of each of Maxwell's 21!

Scholarly yet informative and engaging.
On the back of this text it states "1,000,000 can't be wrong!" And after using this text for the past month I can see why, among the myriad of Abnormal Psych. texts available, this one is considered heads above all the others.

The authors write in a way that is accessable to undergraduates and/or graduate students (like myself)who are studying this subject matter for the first time. They go in depth on etiology, assessment, treatment, and prognosis on a myriad of DSM-IV-TR disorders.

Don't let the price scare you away. Text books are like anything else; you get what you pay for. Purchases such as this one are an investment in your career. Don't short-change yourself. Buy the best!

Astaire Dancing: The Musical Films
Published in Hardcover by Knopf (1985)
Author: John E. Mueller

The Best Astaire Book
Probably the best book on Fred Astaire's career, this has everything, including frame-by-frame analyses of each of his dances. Mueller is obviously a fan, and sometimes finds things to praise in films that are actually pretty dull ("The Sky's the Limit," "Belle of New York"). But unlike most movie books, this one is fully thought-out, beautifully written, and just about exhaustive. Even the footnotes and appendices make entertaining reading.

The Truth About Gainesville
This book is without a doubt the only accurate account of the horrible murders in Gainesville, FL. Be in the mind of the killer; be in the mind of the detective tracking him. And know the truth, not the self-serving stories told by the killer and his paramour, not the summaries of newspaper accounts. This was a horrible event. The authors give us a driving, accurate narative. Couldn't put it down.

Interesting historical perspective in this fascinating work
As 1916 draws towards an end, the war between Great Britain and Germany appears to have no end in sight. Prime Minister Lloyd George has been in office for a week when his friend Sir Arthur Conan Doyle persuades him to host a séance in order to contact his daughter, dead for nine years. Because he feels guilt, Lloyd agrees. Just as the medium goes into a trance, the lights go out. When they come back on, the Prime Minister's youngest teenage daughter is missing.

Doyle visits his friend John Darnell, a psychic debunker, to attend the next night's séance. As happened previously, the lights go out just as the medium enters a trance. When the lights come back on, someone stabbed to death an aid to the prime minister. Someone has used the cloak of the séances to kidnap a teenager and kill a person who unluckily chanced upon information. Lloyd receives a ransom note threatening the life of his child if he fails to agree to Germany's peace offering. John Darnell races the clock to save a life of an innocent caught up in world politics.

Sam McCarver writes a fascinating work that gives the audience a strong sense of the times. The mood of the British people before America's entry into World War I is fascinating yet understandable. Nonetheless, the magic to THE CASE OF THE 2ND SÉANCE lies in the hero whose actions insure readers get more than their money's worth.

Delightful
What's better than a Hank the Cowdog book? Listening to theaudio cassettes, of course! The author himself does all the voices, and as usual, he brings the characters to life. In this adventure, Hank, Drover and Little Alfred must track and save Eddie the Raccoon from mysterious black-hooded hangmans in a haunted house. And if that isn't enough adventure for one day, Hank then has to save everyone from the neighbor's bull. Sure to please children of all ages and their parents, too.
