The best book I read is Hank the cowdog!
One of my favorite books I have read in the past year was Hank the Cowdog by John R.Erickson. It is A marvelous book about Hank tries to fall in love with another dog he met. One of the major reasons I in joyed this book is because Hank and Drover stays ahead of the ranch security so nothing wouldn't happen to the farm or the chickens, but they decide that its time for A break from the ranch security. Another reason I found in the book to be so wonderful Hank and Drover goes out into the woods and they see four yellow eyes in the dark it was Rip and Snort. They were brothers but Rip and Snort didn't remember Hank and Drover, but Hank told them about the pit where they had parties and got drunk. Then Snort and Rip mumbled about it. Then they thought they would go we eat Hunk later and Drover for snacks then Hank said member what I told you about that don't eat friends that is bad manners. Then snort said, "Oh," but Drover ran off. when Rip seen the silage pit he ran but not snort; he stayed behind Hank. Then Hank said, "That was my chance to escape." To conclude Hank the Cowdog by John R.Erickson was truly my favorite book

The best Hank yet???
I have purchased approximately 12-14 Hank the Cowdog Audio Tapes/CDs for...ahem...the kids. Yeah, totally for the kids. Anyway, this one is my favorite. If you are considering any Hank Audio Books, this should be your first.

We hear of Hank and Drover's adventures battling the terrible green Charlie Monsters and what happens when they come face to face with the most dreadful of realities...trapped in Sally May's KITCHEN.

All the Hank audio books have classic lines that our family is often repeating (while laughing hysterically), but this one has some of the best:
"I don't want to be a cat"
"You STOLE my BACON!"
"That will be 15 Shame-On-You's Drover"
etc.

Buy it...you'll thank me!

Sheila McCarn
We have listened to this audio book several times. The first time we heard it was driving in the car and I had to pull over because I was laughing so hard I was afraid we'd have a wreck. Hank is not just for kids.

Corporate restructuring : Crompton Greaves and the challenge of globalisation

A very good book
I read about this book in "Economic Times" a month or so ago and bought a copy for myself. I am working with a similar company like Crompton Greaves and hence was interested in the book.

From the first page to the last page...the only way I can describe this book is..really really good! I have read the books by lots of management gurus and am really tired of people telling me what to do..this book is a pleasant surprise!

Being familiar with Indian business environment, I am really impressed with this work..as a matter of fact, I have already started some evaluation in my plant based on the book!

In short, a must-have book for all the people interested in how Indian firms are facing up the challenges of globalisation....worth every rupee!

A Unique Contribution ...
This book is one of the few management/business related books that does not "preach" the readers about what they "should" do, but rather analyzes the realities as they exist for thousands of firms around the world while the firms are grappling with the issues of competing in foreign environment.

The detailed analysis of supplier relations is very cogent and timely in these days of global supply chain management and hollow organisations.

An ideal companion for all business people and researchers interested in Asia...

Death Blade

Mysterious death in a museum
Since the setting of this mystery is patterned after my home town, I particularly enjoyed reading this book. The Sylvester Community Center where the murder takes place is patterned after the Brazosport Center for the Arts in Lake Jackson. In the story a third grade teacher is leading a field trip (a regularly scheduled event in our community)to the museum located in the Center. The children make an unhappy discovery when the body of the museum president, Cornelia Moore, is found with a rapier thrust through it. The rapier is one of a pair from the museum collection which is missing. There are a few false leads, but the community seems to think it is the Phantom Fencer which supposedly haunts the museum. This is a well-written and fast-paced book and is especially fun for those from this area who will readily recognize the true identity of Rosalinda's Cantina, the Mexican restaurant which is described in the book.

Death Blade
When Molly Magee agrees to take a 3rd grade class on a tour of the local museum she doesn't anticipate finding the museum's president murdered, affixed to the rockingchair in one of the exibit roomms by an antique rapier. The rapier is one of a pair from the museum collection. The other is missing. The police call it a robber since Cornelia's purse is missing and they apprehend someone using her credit cards.Several of the townspeople claim the murdereris the legendary Phantom Fencer who haunts the museum.Molly,43 years old recovering from a bitter divorce is establishing herself in her new career as a reporter. She doesn't believe the police has apprehended the real murderer. There are too many logical suspects:te usband having an affair and almost bankrupt; the nephew due to inherit and needing money. Molly enlsts the aid of Felix Guzman, retired LA detective now head of security at local business. There are sightings of Phantom Fencer and after another murder the two join forces to try to apprehend the killer. This is a well-written,fast-moving book. The characters are believable;the action swift. The story keeps you guessing to the end. I would highly recommend this book.

Evidence in Child Abuse and Neglect Cases (2 Vol Set)(Trial Practice Library)
Published in Hardcover by Aspen Publishers, Inc. (1997)
Author: John E. B. Myers
Amazon base price: $295.00
Average review score:

The Most Important Book
Actually, it's two books, Volume I and Volume II. But Professor John Myers' book EVIDENCE IN CHILD ABUSE AND NEGLECT CASES is the single most complete, current, and balanced resource there is for information on this very important topic. John Myers' work has been cited by over 150 courts nationwide, and with good reason. I have been working in the field of child abuse and neglect for many years and have used this book extensively. It's not a book that every lawyer or judge needs to have individually, although that would be great, but it is a book that every law office and court (criminal, juvenile, family) should have in its library. It gives citations to cases throughout the U.S., as well as to statutes. It reviews the literature and trends in this very area. And, of course, it gives the insights and assessments of Professor Myers on MANY areas of evidence that affect child abuse and neglect cases. This book is simply an invaluable resource for lawyers and judges working in the child abuse and neglect field, whether they be prosecutors, defense attorneys, children's attorneys, or judicial officers.

Invaluable resource for child abuse practioners.
Myers provides an excellent resource for practioners in the area of child abuse. Also includes citations to court cases addressing evidentiary issues.=

Fracture and Fatigue Control in Structures: Applications of Fracture Mechanics (A S T M Manual Series, No 41)
Published in Hardcover by Amer Society for Testing & (1999)
Authors: John M. Barsom and S. T. Rolfe
Amazon base price: $90.00
Average review score:

A "practicing engineer's" Fracture Mechanics!
This is an excellent book for the practicing engineer who wants to use fracture mechanics to solve fracture and fatigue problems used in industry today. The author explains fracture mechanics and fatigue in terms the practicing engineer uses on a daily basis. For example, different material properties used in fracture mechanics are compared to Hook's Law, yield strength, and tensile strength, material properites common to structural engineers.

Also, the author gives precise definitions of fracture and fatigue, how it can be used during the design phase, why structures fail structurally, and how to use fracture and fatigue analysis to solve these real-life problems.

Excellent Book
Excellent for practical engenieers that face fracture mechanics problems and need to solve it very quickly. Tons of experimental data and estimations from simple-->cheaper test to get important proprieties as KIc. Very general book covers a lot of subjects as weldings, inspections routines and many others briefly.
