Interesting
I consider this book an interesting tool for an international law class, because of its variety of cases and its handling of matters such as jus cogens, that makes it really didactic and comprehensible. Worth to be have in mind by University professors, students and investigators of this law area.

Good Book for first year law students
The first year of law school was very difficult. It was refreshing to use this casebook that so clearly outlined the law of contracts.

The best part about the book is the problems after every section of cases. These problems allowed me to realize whether I understood that type of contract.

The worse part about the book is that the hornbook is a newer edition. So, although Calamari does an excellent job laying out the law, the labels (that tell you which sections in the hornbook to read) do not always correspond.

It is a good book!
I am studing this book nowadays. But I believe there should be an answer book for the cases that shall accompany the book itself. We need to judge our understanding to the subjects by cross checking our answers with the key answer book. So, please advise on availability of such answer book! Ayman

How to do business in Muslim countries
This book has a very useful introductory chapter that sets out recommendations on how Western companies have to adapt their business approaches in the Muslim world. The author also makes it clear that not all Muslim countries are created equal.

The rest of the book is a series of fascinating case studies on how companies like Gillette and Disney have tackled doing business in places like Indonesia and Lebanon. There are also case studies on well-managed Muslim-run businesses like Sadafco, a Saudi food conglomerate, and Hikma, a Jordanian pharma company with operations in Portugal and the USA. There's also a fun report on the auto industry in Uzbekistan!

Overall, very informative for the lay reader, though probably designed as a text for a college course.

A good criminal law casebook
This was my casebook for 1st year Criminal Law. It is a good casebook, and does a good job of summarizing the law in addition to a decent job of editing the cases. I would strongly recommend purchasing Understanding Criminal Law by Dressler in addition to this book.

Very Old Bill
This is a detailed look at the life of a fictional but realistic policemen in Victorian London. Written with restrained humour, the book leads the reader through a typical day. Period illustrations show us the places, people and things of a policeman's lot.

There is a plot to this book and the reader is drawn along as Police Constable Arnold Pipkin pulls together a few loose ends to solve a small mystery involving an escaped villian and a fire in a clothing factory.

The second half of the book provides a non-fiction overview of law, crime and punishment in Victorian times. There is a short index and bibliography. Excellent material for anybody wanting to research the atmosphere of the period.

sifting through the flotsam & jetsam
I enjoyed this book for a few reasons: 1) it is a concise (although not comprehensive) summary of the known facts of the assassination/investigation, 2) it is adept at weaving the events and moods of the day into the historical tapestry, 3) it is the first book I've encountered to look at Jim Garrison the man and his motivations in an objective manner. I've followed most of the conspiracy theories and anti-conspiracy theories pretty closely, and find it rare to encounter a study like this one, that doesn't add confusion for every point it clarifies.

While there is a lot of additional material worthy of reading and research, this book is a good objective overview of the assassination in in's historical context, and of the only prosecution of anyone anywhere for the crime of the century.

informative, interesting outlook on some issues
Interesting case studies in developing countries and established areas of infrastructure. Offers information, statistics, and conclusions drawn in each area. I focused mainly on the case study of Nepal which offered strong counter arguements to the commonly accepted views of conservation and tourism interaction. The authors seem quite well informed and interested in the topic.
