A Brief Commentary on the value of this book
This book was used by my son Mark Luftig in a paper in his collage study in hortaculture. The information, details and little known facts this book has is simply amazing! For example, the paper mentioned was on the bulb family Hippeastrum. No other book (he had looked at over 30 other books in 4 different librarys) before he found this volume in the reference section on campus. Not only did it give information he had already gathered, but very specific information such as tempature needed to raise them, dormancy controls, media details and postharvest just to name a few. There are hundreds of other plants listed, all treated the same way. This enabled him to get his a very high mark on his paper as well as his final grade. It is very detailed and not for the weekend gardener but for the serious student or professional.

A vivid portrait of life in the NorthWest
This book features some of the most prominent authors born and bred in NorthWestern Ontario. I myself found the book intriguing, being from NW Ontario myself, because it references landmarks, sights, and sounds, common in Thunder Bay and surrounding areas. Nancy Bjorgo's story is without a doubt the one that stands out most in my mind in this incredible collection. I had no idea such talent resided in NorthWestern Ontario, the stories are powerful! If short fiction is your passion, pick this book up!

Found the book great!
Being an IMG who graduated a few years ago, I did not have a very good grounding in Genetics. I found that the subject was tested quite a bit on the USMLE and to prepare myself for the test, I used this book and found that this book made the subject both interesting and gave a lot of detail too.

Great Teacher Resource
This is one of the few books available that provides activities and games for elementary students that can easily be adapted to include students with visual impairments, hearing impairments, and limited mobility. I am a fifth/sixth grade special ed. teacher and have found this book great for giving me ideas of different games I can play with my students. The directions in the book are easy to follow and so far, all games have been a hit with my students (which is quite rare!)

An efficient overview of the kidney transplant process
From options for treatment of end-stage renal disease to transplantation and post-operative management, this very complete and efficient overview offers new learners adequate information as well as a handy reference to renal transplant clinicians. This book was an invaluable study reference for my professional certification. The information reflects current UNOS policy regarding HLA tissue matching and cadaveric kidney distribution for transplantation. A must!

A perfect book for a library and coffee table.
Fredrick Hartt is a man whose love of his subject is only equal to his willingness to expalin it in terms of the layman. He does not limit the purview of the book to merely the depiction of Italian life and piety, but brings in narrative and anecdotes to enliven the tome. He introduces us to the vocabulary of the arts, not consigning them to an inconvenient niche in the appendix, neither condescending incessantly or immersed in jagon. The resplendent illustrations, true eye candy, fill the book, making it a true bargain. Hartt truly deserves the copious awards given to him by the patrons of the arts. My only regret is that the usuerers of my school book store had not charged such a bloated price ($72) for this book.

delightful
I loved this book. This story shares both Robbie's and his mother's feelings with humor, and you sympathize with both of them. Robbie solves his problem using his imagination, something kids really appreciate. The drawings are also darling, bright and colorful. This is one book I didn't mind reading more than once at a sitting.

This book is a MUST HAVE for Nursing Students!
I'm a Senior nursing student and this book is WONDERFUL!!! Although we learn a lot in nursing school, IV therapy is one thing that we all seem to have to learn "on the job". I was so confused until I found this book!!! It explains everything (and I mean EVERYTHING) in very easy to understand terms (probably good even for beginning nursing students). I have recommended it to all of my fellow nursing students, and many others find it as helpful as I have!
