A thorough and meaty book
The development of the breed is explained and its relationship to the Sussex, Field and English Cocker breeds is defined. The photos are charming. The section on Form vs function is worth the price of the book. This is one book you shouldn't overlook. Dog Fancy Magazine

A breed book difficult to parallel
The range of information is immense. A facinating book with a different approach and by today's standards good value for the money. For Cocker enthusiasts this is an encylopedia of the breed which would be difficult to parallel. Our Dogs Magazine of England

An excellent reference volume
Dr. Grossman has written what must be the final work on the American Cocker Spaniel. The author has written with clarity, and a tuch of humor sparkles in his style. Every owner of a Cocker will want to own this excellent book as a valuable reference and as a real source of practical information. American Kennel Club Gazette

A Higher Order Of Existence
Architecture of Silence is a finely wrought volume of exceptional interest and beauty. Its temporal actuality immediately evokes the devotional themes which are contained within its pages. The book feels like a sacred text which was printed and bound by hand, out of love.

Cistercian cenobites understood that interior spaces were at least as significant and meaningful in the natural order of things as surface manifestations. They believed that divinity resides in places that cannot necessarily be seen or immediately sensed. Architecture Of Silence conveys splendidly the essence of this belief as expressed through the physical monuments they created in worship.

Impressions to die for.
Heald is head photographer for the Guggenheim Museum of New York. He is far more than an expert photographic technician, however. The book exemplifies uncompromisingly conscious, staggeringly sensitive image making. As he composed and developed these images, Heald must have had a vivifying rapport with the same extraordinary source of energy and insight that infused the psyches of the original builders of these Abbeys. Wonderful. Inspiring. Awesome. Excellent essay too.

A spiritual feast for the eyes and the soul !
I was on a spiritual pilgrimage in France in October 2000, and I toured most of the abbeys that are featured in this book. I did not see this book until after I returned from France, and I must admit that the photos in this text are the most impressive of all the books that I have viewed on Cistercian architecture. I love this book ! The photographer has been able to capture the peace, simplicity, and soul of these medieval monuments. How many photography books actually bring your spirit to a deeper level of tranquility? This one surely will. The introduction is beautifully written and was composed by The expert and scholar of Cistercian architecture. I also recommend another excellent book on this subject: Cistercians: Monks and Monasteries of Europe, by Stephen Tobin.

Best Baby Book Ever!
This Baby Album is the most beautiful book I've ever seen! The layout is exceptional , but what really awes me about it is the tissue papered pages between which is a beautifully illustrated matte in which to insert photos. This album is heirloom quality and any child would treasure such a keepsake from the first two years of their life.

Hint: there are several pages where mom can record pregnancy related things, so if you know a mom-to-be, get her this book during her pregnancy so she can complete it fully.

I can't say enough how much I treasure this book. I have one for each of my daughters and will buy more for friends. [...]

Gorgeous Album
I bought this album for my daughter and love it. It is so elegant and sophisticated, yet has all the places for the important information you want to record. Everyone asks me where I got it. I looked endlessly for another one before my next child was born (It was discontinued at a local store) - finally found it at Amazon. It makes a great baby shower gift too.

Elegant with Victorian Flavor
This is the prettiest baby book I've seen. When opened at a shower, it was such a hit that several people wanted to know how to get their own copy. It is victorian in flavor but timeless in design. Exquisite.

REJECTION IS ONLY ON YOUR MIND
In this book, the root of rejection are properly depicted is a useful manner, to deliver us from the feeling of rejection, which ultimately is only in our mind. There are circumstances, but the ONE who is important to us, have never rejected us. Ant this is thoroughly described in the book.

The book that changed my life
My sister gave me this book when I was going through my second divorce. It was not "just another self-help book". I have read hundreds of those. This book made sense out of all the confusion and chaos of my entire life. It combines the Rockey's own experiences with the true science of the mind and the emotions and how & why they work, and with the truth about the love of God. This book changed how I felt about myself and others. It gave me understanding about my own frustrating feelings and behaviors that I had never been able to overcome. The book gives 4 steps for overcoming rejection. The first step is gaining knowledge. The second step is applying it to yourself. You'll have to read the book if you want to know the next two steps! Maybe it will change your life too. I only recommend this book for people that have suffered some kind of rejection in their life. That would include YOU!

An excellent healing book for all of the human race.
I read this book after attending a Women's Retreat, in which Kay Kuzma was the lecturer. I was extremely pleased with the "how to methods" and the explanations in the book regarding our personal "bad habits." This is a good book to read if you have children, it will help to minimize the scars you leave on your children's fragile spirits. I am a much more understanding person because I read this book.

A definite must!
This book is wonderful- I have used it to entertain out of town guests and for myself and friends on a regular basis. It is a great reference for places you may have never been or to stir your memory of places you have enjoyed going to. Every place mentioned in the book has been exactly as they had written. There were no surprises, but in fact excellent suggestions of ways to truly experience the local life. I just moved to Seattle myself, so I have found the book to be quite helpful. I would definitely recommend this book to anybody new to the area or coming for a visit. Who knows... you may just run into me at one of the local hangouts...

Not just for tourists
I'm in debt to this book - I've been using its earlier edition for three years since I moved to Seattle, and it's still the first place I turn to when I want to find something new to do on a weekend. There are entries about the best lodgings, cafes, coffee places, theaters of all kinds including indie. And of course, this being a book about Pacific Northwest, it contains the most complete guide to all the places to visit around Seattle: islands, mountains, places to ski and hike and bike. Whether you live in Seattle or you're just visiting, you will not do better than choosing this book to help you explore this beautiful city. I know I wouldn't have enjoyed my time here nearly as much without it.

This book is a must
Planning our vacation in and around Seattle was going to be interesting since I had never been there and had no tips and referances to go by. I searched on Amazon.com, and found some interesting books with lot's of tips. I chose the Best Places in Seattle book and once I had received it I fall in love with it. It is very detailed and informative and thanks to this book,I had hotel rooms booked and wonderful ideas of how we were going to spoil ourselfs with fantastic food in wonderful restaurants and of course all the highlights of Seattle were well explained in the book as well. Once we got there it was easy.. the book offeres a map,of the loctions of the hotel and palces to go and really it was a breeze for us to find our way around and let me tell you, the hotels were no dissapointment and the restaurants wonderful. I recommend this book to everyone. The author really wrote it as it is and the star rating of the hotels and more are really fantastic and a big help. She also makes a point to inform you of small details , for example, if the hotel has AC or not or if the service is nice and which floor offers the better view and such. That really is important for some people I am sure. This book helped us a lot to enjoy a wonderful vacation and we will be back. Enjoy Seattle and with this book you will.

Some hope in a hopeless situation
This book is a rare gem. A book about dealing with the tragedy of death that offers comfort and hope and maybe some kind of answer for the bereaved. So many of these books have the author wallowoing in sorrow for the 150 pages and do nothing to ease the pain. But this book is different-it brings comfort to the bereaved. What an achievement! Thank you for this book. It it meant to be read over and over again and to passed on and recommended to other people in pain.

Understanding Goodbye
After loosing my sister three short years ago, I have read many books and been confused, upset or lost with a great deal of them. Dr. Geller gives you an outline, if you will, of her own loss and then describes the feelings and emotions of dealing with such devistation. Through this journey together the reader begins to empathize with her and learns from her emotions and spiritual guidance. Not guidance as these are the steps to mourning but more the spiritual enlightenment you can open yourself up to be guided by.
I found her spiritual growth to be a relief and a light at the end of the tunnel. Well written and easy to follow.

More than spirituality
This an excellent book combining the many facets of our spirituality, validating many of my own conclusions. I especially enjoyed the chapters on pre-birth experiences and near death experiences. Each chapter flowed into the next relevant topic. I also liked the way Dr. Geller looks at different belief systems as "costumes". I have believed this for many years.
I recommend this book to anyone with questions about one's past, future, or anyone who has witnessed death or lost a loved one. I could not put this book down and am looking forward to reading some of the referenced books.

HOT, HOT, HOT
Luke Lawson is a hunk. He's a journalist who also writes sex advice columns for many men's magazines under the name of Lance Flagstaff. As Lance, he has just published his first book, Sex for Total Morons. Luke's mail keeps getting mixed up with his upstairs neighbor's, Shari Wilson. When Shari brings down a padded envelop addressed to Luke, she plans on asking him out. They've been flirting for weeks and she's ready to take things up a level. Then, Luke's book falls out of the envelope she's handing to him and she thinks he's a real loser. Luke convinces Shari that he needs her help to work through the sex manual he received and since she's attracted to him, she agrees.

The sex scenes in this book are hot. It is a little far fetched that Shari keeps believing that Luke needs the sex manual after the way he heats up the sheets, but overall it's a good book.

Hilarious!
"By the Book" was a fun read, aside from being a BLAZE, which I almost always enjoy. I laughed through the whole thing, especially since I felt like it told was more from Luke's side. We get to see the humour in his little deception because we don't get quite as much from Sheri; I could feel the smirk behind some of the scenes. I loved the bit of charecter that feeling lends to the story.

Luke and Sheri have the greatest chemistry between them, and they have tenderness and friendship, as well as great sex. You know that their conflict will be quickly resolved because of the easiness between them. This one's a keeper!

Does he really need to be taught about sex, by the book?
What is a stud like Luke Lawson doing with a book called Sex for Total Morons: A How-To Guide in his mail? That's what neighbor Shari Wilson wants to know. Shari and Luke's mail has been getting mixed up. When Shari goes to Luke's door to give him his mail, the aforementioned book falls out of the package. Funny, because just before she took the mail to Luke, she was prepared to seduce him. Well, what about now? Is Luke the moron?

Wow! Luke is speechless. He's had seduction on his mind, too. However, now that Shari has seen this book, he can tell by the look on her face that she thinks he is sexually inept. Shari is flabbergasted. After all, Luke is just too sexy for his own good. He exudes sensuality. He needs love lessons? Well, she is a teacher, after all. She starts to get an idea. Shari knows Luke is a writer, but she has no idea that the writer of the book, Lance Flagstaff, is Luke, his pseudonym. Well, Luke gets creative. He decides to use this opportunity to ask Shari to teach him the ins and outs of sex.

Luke and Shari strike up a deal - Luke is to go to Shari's ex-friend's wedding with her, and Shari will give Luke four weeks of love lessons, by the book. What's interesting is that Luke convinces Shari that he'll read the book, and that they'll practice chapter by chapter. You've got to remember that Luke felt that attraction in the beginning, too. So, after their first "lesson", Luke devises a way to double-up on the lessons.

How can Luke, lover extraordinaire, keep hiding the fact that he's very good at what he does? Well, actually, as a result of some embarrassing moments, it seems to Shari that he really does need the lessons, that he is perhaps shy, and so she takes her role of teacher quite seriously.

Let me tell you. I didn't want to put BY THE BOOK down. The attraction between Luke and Shari evolved quite nicely. First it was sexual, and then moved on to teacher/pupil, then it finally began to grow to more intimate levels to each of them. BY THE BOOK was an emotional read. As a reader, I "needed" to see the two of them recognize the deepness of their feelings, while allowing neither of them to get hurt.

Ms. Warren never disappoints. Page after page, I was yelling to Luke, "TELL HER", and whispering to Shari, "Please understand." It was very interesting to see how long this would go on between the two of them. BY THE BOOK was extremely sensual, with quite an emotional tug. The characters were wonderful, as well. Luke was a serious writer, with the typical nuances of many of the writers I talk to everyday, while Shari was a wonderful, sincere woman, who, in thinking she was doing Luke a favor, endeared herself to me. Ms. Warren is an autobuy for me, without a doubt. I know each time I pick up a book of hers, that I will have a wonderful reading experience.

Is Your Teacher an Alien?
Did you ever think about having an alien in your classroom? Alien in the Classroom from the Nancy Drew Notebooks series is written by Carolyn Keene. Alien in the Classroom is about a girl named Nancy Drew who has to figure out if their substitute teacher is an alien. If she doesn't, Brenda, another girl in her class is going to put the story about an alien in the school newspaper! Can Nancy find out if Ms. Zagon is an alien? Read Alien in the Classroom to find out.
I liked this book because it has a very good ending. It is also a good mystery to solve. On a scale of 1 to 10 I would give this book a 9.
I think Carolyn Keene wrote this book to tell kids not to be afraid of aliens.

It is a great , exciting book.

great book
I really like this book. Just looking at the pictures is fun! I've made 2 of the teddy bear blocks in the 12 inch size..she gives about 4 different sizes of each block and shows at least 4 differnt fabric combinations and at the end gives 'maps' ideas for layouts of samplers. There are lots of different pictures...ballerina, teddy bear, santa claus, frog, beach house, tree, boy, girl, patchwork cow, toy horse, flowers, barn and some animals, fish....lots of stuff. I'm buying the second book pretty soon just to have.

Great Design- Very easy to piece
I found this book to be a gerat source of inspiration and practical advice. There are so many great designs that I had trouble deciding what to make first. I decided to make a sampler based on one of the handy quilt maps in the back of he book. All the blocks are made from squares and rectangles, although I didn't believe this at first. I am very happy with this book!!

Provides over 50 blocks in four sizes
Nancy Johnson-Srebro's Block Magic provides over 50 blocks in four sizes, using rotary-cut shapes and simple piecing to make their construction very easy. An excellent, recommended quilter's guide.
