Great way to travel Denver
What a beautiful job Nancy and David Muenker have done to introduce visitors to the Front Range of Colorado. Those who live in the area will also find it enhances their knowledge and enjoyment of places they see all the time.

COLORADO FUN
This book is very well organized and user friendly. Each section includes great details of the history, followed by well written articles on what there is to see and do today. Special areas of interest to me are railroads and mining. The book has certainly peaked my interest in all the beauty of the Colorado front range. Both the writing and photography are top quality.

This book is an excellent tool for planning a Colorado vacation. I plan to do just that in 2003.

Great Facts, Great Fun
I've lived in the heart of Colorado's Front Range for over 30 years but I learned fascinating things about familiar areas, and enjoyed being introduced to some new places. This slim guidebook is packed full of historical info and peppered with fun facts. Outstanding photos, concise writing and a snazzy lay-out combine to make this a very usable guidebook. If you are a Front Range "local" this is a great book to have on hand when out-of-state family and friends descend. It's also a good resource for parents looking for close-to-home family outings. Although you can enjoy Colorado Front Range History Explorer as an armchair traveler, this book makes you want to get out and explore.

Can It Be Educational AND Entertaining?
YES, it can! Ms. Friedman's book not only provided real-life examples of customer service gone wrong, but solutions for solving those problems. I found it difficult to put the book down for its entertainment factor, often reading into the night as I might a recreational book. I hurt for those customers who were so horrendously wronged, but found satisfaction in knowing I could learn to prevent that from happening to one of my customers. As a manager of volunteers for a health care facility, I found many solutions that I could apply to my customer service training for my volunteer staff who frequently have front-line contact with the public and patients.

THANK YOU>
I recently purchased your book "Customer Service Nightmares" because I saw you on TV, & thought as a customer service rep that it would be something I could relate to. How right I was. I can honestly say that our company will solve a lot of problems with the advice from this book. Thank you.

A MUST READ FOR OWNERS & MANAGERS
This book should be on every managers desk. ! Full of common sense advise on HOW TO DO IT RIGHT.

A Woman in Management
Dancing on the Glass Ceiling is the best "how to" book I've read on women in management. Thirteen women and two men report to me and we're all reading it. I just wish it had been available ten years ago when I was with a different company and coming up through the ranks; it would have saved me a great deal of frustration and heartache.

Now, the book is helping me to deal not only with my bosses but to effectively manage the people under me. Easy to read, not preachy. Everyone in business should read this book.

Magnificent
DeLana is a spunky young girl who has the pioneer spirit to achieve anything she wants. Nancy has a way with words that keeps you on the edge of your seat wondering what will happen next. The histoical facts are so well written. Make sure you have all the books when you start reading this series. Great reading for young and old!

The first of four terrific books!
This is a wonderful book that follows the life of a young pioneer girl as she makes her own unique way in an uncompromising world. Although the book is set in the 1820's, DeLanna shows us that we have to be true to ourselves no matter what the circumstances. This is a super "girl power" book!

Great Series!!
Once you start the Apple Valley series, make sure that you have all of the books on hand because you'll want to read the next one as soon as you finish reading the one before! Note to Ms. Smith: Thank you and please get busy, I'm waiting for the rest of the series!

Parenting 101.
Although this parenting guide was written for noncustodial, divorced fathers, it is ultimately intended to benefit the children of divorced parents. Coauthors Nancy Wasson, Ph.D. and Lee Hefner share an interest in helping kids adjust to divorce. "We believe in the power of love and persistence to transform relationships," they write; "we also believe that even small changes a father makes can have major impact on the rapport with his children" (p. 200). Wasson is a therapist who works with children of divorced parents, and Hefner is the noncustodial father of a teenaged daughter. Their book encourages divorced fathers to mend fences with their ex, to upgrade their parenting skills, to communicate in various ways, to support learning, to plan vacations and enjoy recreational activities together, to splurge occasionally, and to teach values by setting an example, in order to stay connected to their children. Sound advice.

Divorced Dads: 101 Ways to Stay Connected with Your Kids
The only thing I didn't like about this book was the title because I thought it was too limiting. This is an awesome book for anyone that wants to be closer connected with their kids or any other human being. Clever ideas and thought provoking suggestions. A wonderful book!

Divorced Dads: 101 Ways to Stay Connected with Your Kids
This timely book by Wasson and Hefner speaks a vital message to non-custodial fathers giving positive direction to them of how to nurture their relationships with their children. We know that children need a healthy forever relationship with BOTH parents.......an outcome that is not the norm in divorced families. The authors of this book empathize with the hardship of being the father, and step by step wisely pave his way to overcoming common obstacles to meeting his children's needs and receiving their love. As a therapist, and supervisor of therapists, who has worked with children and families for over 25 years (and as a divorced parent myself), I have experienced the overwhelming pain and sadness of children losing the active participation of a parent in their lives. This book clearly shows how to prevent this heartbreak from happening, as well as how to mend broken bridges. Who are the winners? The children of divorce, the non-custodial fathers, the mothers who have custody, the extended family, and the larger community. Read this book, and give it to those you love who need the guidance.

Another intelligent high-tech thriller from Nancy Parker
Double Helix was a fascinating view into gene research, sailing and computers, enveloped in a heart-stopping tale of suspense.
I had previously been fairly uninterested in any of these three topics, but had enjoyed her previous novel so much that I gave
it a try. Two days later I emerged from this intelligently written book, thoroughly entertained, wiser and with a stronger sense of ethics. Ms. Parker is able to deliver plenty of
realistic evil in her thrillers, but with human values inherent in the main characters in a way that is uplifting and never "preachy". This is a great read from a great story teller.

Marvelous SciFact/Fiction Adventure in Reading
Double Helix is a marvelous combination of sci-reality and fiction; it gives you the thrill of "living" it as you read and pondering its implications for weeks to come. Grounded in the rapidly maturing science of genetics, with all its inherent ethical issues, the tale of human arrogance and greed that knows no limits is plausible. How "the good guys" combat that menace results in a gripping intellectual and action venture. Scrupulous research, scary details, a swift pace, twists and turns that grab you, brave and caring characters, and a tightly woven plot keep you sitting up in bed until you finish it in the wee hours of the night.

This is THE Book!
This book was AWESOME! It's perfect for people just getting started or people who just want to change their own home and life. It walks you step by step through your house and each room in it, and then some! It gives lots of basic "cures" in easy to understand language. It also has a great section on color usage and the chakras of the body, and touches the surface regarding healing crystals and aromatherapy. You can tell when some writers just have the gift within themselves to touch millions of lives... this book is like that! I can't wait for Nancy's second book coming this winter.

A very good guide...
This book, and Kingston's "Clear Your Clutter" complement each other very well. The two books give a good understanding of the principles of Feng Shui and how your living space relates to your body and mental state.

There are two "schools" of thought in Feng Shui: the compass school is mainly oriented around complicated calculations that may involve things like your birthdate (much like doing a horoscope chart) while the "Black Hat" method is a more holistic approach based on Buddhism. I personally don't find much of interest in the compass school but the reader could check out Lillian Too's many books for examples of this style.

SantoPietro's book develops the "Black Hat" style starting from the fundamentals and progressing to some rather complicated "trancendental" cures. I suspect many readers will have difficulty believing that crystals hung in certain spots in their house may change their lives. However, if you start to explore aspects of Qi (chi, sort of like life force energy) then I bet you change your mind and look into fixing and/or augmenting Qi flow in your living space.

SantoPietro does not get into any of the related Qigong (Chikung) aspects of Feng Shui but there are many books available if you are interested in reading about this ancient healing art. I'd also recommend "Mindfulness in Plain English" or "Zen Training" for clearing the clutter in your head...

I particularly enjoyed reading her case studies and, again, I suspect that if even the "non-believer" starts with some of the simpler parts of Feng Shui he/she will probably see the immediate results and then progress to a deeper understanding of Qi later on.

Enjoy.

Harmony by Design hooked me on Feng Shui
I decided I'd look into Feng Shui after attending a designers' review on the subject. I got this book, and now refer to it any time I decide to redecorate a room. We've now moved to another state and our house is a completely different layout, so I'm in the process of using this book to design it with Feng Shui harmony.

For Alaska-lovers and foodies, this book is the greatest.
This cookbook would be fun reading even if you didn't cook! I especially loved the Alaska tidbits in the sidebars.

Buy this book!
The VERY BEST Alaskan Cookbook. You need it

Easy breads for new bakers, great seafood recipes
I live a block away from the restaurant, but find myself turning to the book to cook one of their specialities at home, especially Halibut Caddy Ganty, Pasta Greta Garbo, or some of their hearty soups.

This book finally inspired me to start baking my own bread again, too. Their basic whole wheat bread recipe is great for a single person since it's for one loaf.

This is a wonderful book for seafood lovers, especially if you want to impress your friends with some inspired fish recipes. It's obvious that the cooks who wrote this book love cooking, and want readers to enjoy it too!

Nice Picture Book
This is a neat coffee table book for hockey fans. Because it's compiled under the supervision of the NHL, it isn't going to reveal anything that Gary Bettman doesn't want you to know. I did find some interesting content in it, though. It's loaded with some great photos and short essays on the daily doings of the NHL as they happened on March 23, 1996. What I mainly liked about it was that it didn't just stick with a few teams, but almost all of them appear in one part, or another. It also talks about travel, workouts, pre-game prep (including what equipment crew are doing when ESPN and Fox Sports Net aren't around), ice rink conversion, press, fans, games, coaches, the dressing room, hotels, broadcasters, Gretzky, Keenan, St. Michael's, kids, arena crews, and trainers. It doesn't give the whole picture on everything, but it's an adequate scratch at the surface.

Is this book out there?
I have been trying to find this book for sale for about a year without any luck.Maybe this note will bring this book to my possession.I am just your average Joe looking for a book that has my picture in it next to the Stanley Cup.I would love to purchase this book if anybody has it.

Excellent But.........
I find this book to be really interesting. What makes it the most interesting is that the person on the front cover of this book is me. I found this out by just happening to be in a book store and looking at hockey books. I looked under the Tampa Bay Lightning and their was my picture with my name by it. I really made me mad. No one told me they were going to put my picture in a book or my name. I don't even have a book for myself. I wish they still made them so I could have one. I feel they should have sent me a book or at least told me I was on the cover and my name was inside the book. Don't you think.
