VERY WELL WRITTEN and extremely interesting for all.
Ms. Howe takes you through the sacrifice, rigors, humility and discipline of what it takes to become a professed nun. She shares her deep devotion and duty to God as a member of the 'religious', a Roman Catholic nun. But she senses something is missing from her life spiritually. So she seeks the truth that shatters her beliefs that have been a part of her for so many years.

Refiner's Fire
The realities of 'equipping oneself' for intimate struggle and perseverance are beautifully portrayed in Joanne Blundell Marsh's A CHILD OF THE KING. Uplifting and encouraging, her tale, though sad at times, is better than many arenas of public worship in it directness of will and personal resolve. Ms. Marsh gives us her will of endurance, a mighty asset in an oft too cruel reality. This work is a true mark of the radiance brought about by the refiner's fire. ---- Stephanie S. An excellent resource for those involved in the Read Aloud program in West Virginia and other states. Very informative and thorough. Was hoping it might still be available! Will have to see if any revisions are out there!

challenging to the core.
This volume mounts a sustained and impassioned critique of Christian symbols that legitimate the vicitimization of women. Though the essays are all written by Christian theologians, they do not flinch from examining any aspect of Christian doctrine, nor from posing the question of whether Christianity is still an ethically viable religion. A particular strength of the book is that the authors do not all come down in the same place on the question of suffering, allowing an appropriate sense of complexity to bear on a particularly difficult issue.

Great source of info
For all those up and comming law studients, this is a great information source. Step by step, the steps of the litigation process are illustrated. In addition, it is written in such a way that even a person with no legal background (like myself) can understand it. I highly recomend this book.

Good one for your Asian Cookbook library.
I'm not a vegetarian but this is a delightful recipe book. Full of authentic recipes covering everything from appetizers to desserts and everything in between. The ingredients are not extremely obscure as some readers find with other Asian cookbooks. The recipes are well written and some come with illustrations to aid in things like rolling an egg roll wrapper. What a wonderful variety of over 135 recipes to cook. This will keep you coming back to it.

Love neuroscience-get this book!
The Clinical Practice of Neurological and Neurosurgical Nursing is an excellent overview of the care and management of the neuroscience patient. It's perspective is largely that of neurosurgery/ trauma nursing and is focused predominately on the acute phases of care. This text is arranged topically by disease/ injury process with the introductory chapters oriented towards concerns in neuroscience nursing. The depth and breadth of the material is suitable to meet my needs in the neuro-intensive care unit of the Level I trauma center in which I work. It provides a ready and easy to use reference with solid explantions of disease process, complications, treatment, pharmacology, and nursing considerations. I recommend this text to new nurses in neuroscience at my hospital regularly and I am currently using it to prepare for certification in neuroscience nursing.

Every nurse will benefit immensely from reading this book.
In this book, the authors present and explain outcome-present-state model, "a third-generation nursing process model that emphasize reflection, outcome specification, and testing, given the client's story". Given the inevitable trends and growing emphasis on outcome measures in the health care industry, including the demand to document what nurses contribute to health care, there is a need for nurses to develop clinical reasoning skills. They can start by reading about the OPT model in this book. The authors applied the OPT model and its concepts to selected health care issues and needs of clients in different health care contexts. Every nurse who reads this book can relate to the use of the OPT model in a care context similar to his/her respective practice setting. This reader thoroughly enjoyed this book. The subsections are separated (yet integrated) by tables, figures, and "stop and think" exercises designed to reinforce concepts and materials.

Lesbian Armistead Maupin
Cody Angel does for lesbians in San Francisco what Tales of the City did for gay men in San Fran. Whitfield carries the reader through thoughts, emotions and trials of a country girl moving to gay mecca to find herself. Along the way she meets the good, the bad and the ugly of the underworld, the queer world and the well-to-do world. You'll want to take care of Cody until you realize she can hold her own, what she needs is a friend.
