Please read this book, great companion to the Bible!!
Don't know where to start when reviewing this incredible book. Rev Larkin gives so many wonderful insights to so many different subjects. It is beyond obvious that he has put years upon years of study into the Bible, and it shows through in this book!! The teaching on the Great Pyramid is absolutely incredible, and his study of prophecy (timelines, events, ect.) are astounding. He does what few can do, by letting the Bible interperet itself using scripture with scripture. A definete must have for any one serious about Bible study!!

1st: King James Version Bible- THE Word of God; 2nd: This!
This book was written with the divine guidence of the Holy Spirit...There is NO OTHER WAY the author, or any other human being could have a "visual"-pictured understanding of the word of God.Infallibility is not claimed by the author; though, the charts and diagrams that are givin are so much in harmony with one another, they HAVE TO BE scripturally correct. The main chart wouldnot correlate with the "sectional" and "topical" charts. If one mistake was made, all of the charts would not agree...thus, not correct.Get this book NOW! This for serious readers of the Word, ONLY!

The classic book on Dispensational Truth
I have the orginal hard bound forty-sixth printing. For those that do not know the orginal copyright was in 1918, then revised in 1920. The charts in my book have copyright dates of 1918 - 1920. Everything he says is backed up by what is in the scriptures, (The Holy Bible). The only difference is your belief's in pre or post rapture of the church and what is happening today. The fact that he was enlighten by the Holy Spirit to even come up with the timeline charts of the Book of Daniel and the Book of Revelation is truly amazing. There is a wealth of information to chew upon. I believe you will find the information based on the truth of the Gospel as well as in the Old and New Testament regarding end times.

Mom's Prescription for Healing
While living in Scotland, far away from my support sytem of family and friends, and struggling with a myriad of physical, emotional and spiritual difficulties, I received this book from my mother. Words to describe what a blessing this book has been elude me - so I'll borrow some of yours... All I can say is I have "Gratitude", "Peace" and "Optimism" for the first time in a very long time. Your words, Ms. Goldman, and message "Comfort" me and, I'm sure, many others. May we all have "Laughter", "Joy" and "Play" while we "Heal" and have "Wellness" on our "Journey". Thank you for sharing your "Wisdom" and "Spirit" with us.

One in a Million
HEALING WORDS IS TRULY A WORK OF ART. I HAVE PURCHASED 8 COPIES OF THIS BOOK. AS A THERAPIST I HAVE HAD THE OPPORTUNITY TO PASS THIS ON TO MANY CLIENTS AND FRIENDS. GOLDMAN'S WORK, IS WELL RESEARCHED.THIS IS NOT A TYPICAL SELF HELP BOOK. EACH WORD CONTAINS AN APPROPRIATE EXAMPLE OF THE SUBJECT. ONE OF MY CLIENTS PICKS A WORD EACH NIGHT AND OFTEN JOURNALS HER OWN REFLECTIONS AFTER READING. RECENTLY, ONE OF THE MINISTERS AT MY CHURCH, PREACHED ON "HOPE", ONE OF THE WORDS CONTAINED IN THE BOOK. SHE READ THE ENTIRE PASSAGE IN THE SERMON. MANY HAVE COMMENTED ON ITS EFFECTIVENESS. I WISH I COULD WRITE A REVIEW THAT DOES THIS BOOK JUSTICE, AS MS. GOLDMAN'S PERSONAL JOURNEY DOES JUSTICE TO EACH WORD.

"Come in," she said, "I'll give you shelter from the storm."
When one becomes seriously ill, he/she may feel ravaged from the storm of the illness and, sometimes, even more so from the 'cure'. This book offers the mind and body of the ill person a shelter of sorts. The words are caressing and healing and the individual sections are all done very well. The overall tone of the book is one of caring and compassion. My first thought when flipping through it was that it would make a great gift and fantastic aid for someone going through chemotherapy or any other significant medical crisis. Upon deeper reading it was apparent that it would be a great 'read' for anyone under any circumstance. Highly recommended.

What a delightful book !
Laura was a nine year old girl who had dark brown hair and eyes. She lived in the prairie of Minnesota with Ma, Pa, Mary, Carrie and her pet bulldog,Jack. Laura's family worked very hard in their everyday life. Pa would tend the garden,Ma would do the house work, and Mary and Laura would help after they came from school. Sometimes storms struck the prairie and it was devastating. The author,Laura Ingalls Wilder, wanted to let people know about pioneer times. On the Banks of Plum Creek is a very well written book,it made me feel as if I was part of the story.

On the Banks of Plum Creek
Laura and her family have moved to a small farm near Walnut Grove in Minnesota. They will have to adapt to Minnesota, the sod house, and a lot more. Laura Ingalls is a seven year old girl who loves to explore the creek, and is daddies little angel. Laura lives with her Ma, Pa , her two sisters Marry and Carrie, and their loyal companion and bulldog Jack. Pa goes out to get lumber and builds a beautiful new house with windows and he farms wheat to earn money. One day Pa said that in a couple weeks the wheat would soon be ready to pick. Then they see this peculiar sparkling cloud that filled the sky. Shortly after countless numbers of grasshoppers cover the field, the creek, and the rest of the farm, including Laura and her family. The grasshoppers consumed every plant including the wheat that Pa worked so hard to grow.
Mary and Laura start to go to school and on their first day they met many friends and some foes. one of their rivals was named Nellie who had a party and invited all the girls from school. Nellie was very rude and very cruel to Mary and Laura. Laura decided to have a party as well, and invited all the girls from school. Laura invites Nellie particulary to get back at her, and boy did she do a clever and a funny prank on Nellie. Then the Ingalls experienced blizzards, storms, and prairie fires which were very devastating. After all the work the family put into the farm and the wheat, their work finally payed off.
This book had lots of surprising, unpredictable, and very exciting events. If I could rate this book on a scale of one through ten, I would give this book a ten. Once I started to read this book I couldn't put it down, because I was so hooked on it. This book is fantastic and is great for every age, and great for every age, and should be enjoyed by everyone. If your looking for a great book that will excite, delight, suprise, and grasp your attention, On the Banks of Plum Creek is just the book your looking for.

On the Banks of Plum Creek
On the Banks of Plum Creek is a really good book. Laura is seven like me. Her big sister Mary is eight. The little sister Carrie is two. They moved to the banks of Plum Creek and built a house. There was a town three miles away so they got to go to school. They had lots of fun in the water. You should read this book.

"I Won't Let Them Hurt you"
This book is one of the best I have read in a while. It focuses on real-life issues that should be thought about. It is suspenseful and you never want to put it down. You always want to find out who is doing this to Justin and why. As I read the book I thought I knew who had been beating him but at the end you find out who the person is. The saying, "Don't judge a book by its cover" completely goes with this. I saw it in my class on reading day and it looked like a boring book but I decided to read it anyway and I am glad I did. Now I am a fan of Linda Barr's books. I hope she comes out with a Sequel to this wonderful book. These are the reasons why I love "I Won't Let Them Hurt You."

The one of the best books i have ever read
I Won't Let Them Hurt you is one of my favorite books because it has all the characteristics I like. Suspenseful is one of the characteristics I chose. It is suspenseful because every chapter I read I wanted to keep reading. Each chapter in the book had another detail about the abuse the little boy is getting. Another reason it is suspenseful is the end. At the end you think you have figured everything out but the next chapter you read has a twisted ending. This book is also happy. I think I Won't Let Them Hurt you is happy because of everything bad that happens to the girl Katie something good comes out of it. When Katie lost her job baby-sitting she couldn't go to the prom. She told her boyfriend and he said that they would both not go and instead go to the movies. Another happy moment in the book is when Katie helps the little boy Justin stop getting abused. One last reason I loved this book is because it helps you realize how easy you can abuse someone and that anyone can do it. When Katie though Justin was getting abused she thought of all the different facts. First thing that she thought of was that it couldn't be true because Justin's parents are loving, sweet people so she thought she was making it up. I learned that no matter who the people are they can still be abusing their family or friends in anyway.

I Won't Let Them Hurt You
I think this book was one of the best books I ever read. I gave it 5 stars because it was suspenseful, exciting, and informational on child abuse. It was about a girl named Katie, who started baby sitting this little boy, Justin. She started noticing cuts and bruises on the little boy and was getting worried that something was wrong. She thought that Justin's father abuses him. She didn't want to tell anyone what she suspected because would anyone believe her? If you read this book you should look forward to a surprising ending! I recommend this book to readers of all ages. Have fun reading!!!

Clarification of Jesus's teaching
What a joy to read this book. Glenda Greens asked many questions of Jesus that I wondered about as well. Jesus's explainations were clear and profound and exposed the misinterpretation of his teachings by many others. This book is filled with love and inspiration. It is a guide to keep me on track in these uncertain and difficult times.

Read this book, you won't be sorry....

This book will change your life!
Of all the spiritual books I've read, this book put it all together for me. It's overall theme for me was "to be the love that I am" and to resist judgement of others. Following this guidance on a daily basis has made my life happier, easier, peaceful and more successful. Take your time reading this book and absorb the concepts slowly and they will reach your soul. Thank you Glenda for your beautiful picture of Jesus that I have hanging in my music room, your tapes that I listen to in the car and have loaned to my friend with cancer, and for the love that YOU ARE!

It was a Life Changing Experience reading this book!
I have read the book and found it to be deeply moving.

I haveread it over and over again. This book has changed my life. Thankyou for this generous gift to me collectively and singly.

It has helped me connect in a great way to my soul. Glenda you are doing a wonderful work. I love the art and the book. You have touched so many lives to make a strong impact.

Your book and tapes have enabled me to find truths in a way I can understand and take it in.

Chapter two was my favorite. This book has been a good renewal base of my spirituality, along with my church participation.

I have found this information to be of the highest spiritual quality.

Some very interesting scientific information is described in this book, about the wonderful universe that God has created.

I particularly loved your description of the functions of the heart. This is a very important as a daily devotion for me, in my faith.

I am so anxious to get the work book when it is published.

Again, thank you so much Glenda Green!

Worth recommending...
This is one book I've recommended to many people, particularly those who are suffering from loss of some sort.

These techniques can be used on oneself, and the book gives a basic, simple explanation for how and why the process works as it does. Anyone who feels a bit "run down" by life, or who has suffered losses, can be assisted by this method.

I wish I had known this technique when I was a rape crisis counselor - it would have helped many women I knew enormously!

The purpose of these processes are to pull a person back into the here and now. After the death of a loved one, failed relationships, serious injuries, etc., one can become "stuck in the incident" - and have a gloomy outlook thereafter. These processes gently bring a person's attention back under their own control - and out of the past incidents that have been haunting them.

One can use these processes on himself, or on another. They are even good to use on children, and not necessarily just for people who have experienced trauma. They can improve a person's memory, and just brighten one's outlook in general.

Even my 9 year old daughter is able to use these processes on her younger siblings and her friends. My kids consider Self Analysis to be "fun" and it is!

You can just try it out and see how you like it. I think it's great!

I used this book to help a friend
This book delves into the conflict between the exuberance of youth and the cautiousness that comes with hard-won wisdom. Why does it happen that as one ages and learns, one becomes less enthusiastic about life? Is there a way to retain one's wisdom, but regain that youthful enthusiasm?

Well, there is, and this book gives the exact processes to do just that.

These processes are truly remarkable, and very simple to use. Just about anyone could be helped with these processes, but I think they are especially good for someone who has suffered some kind of trauma - the loss of a loved one, for example.

I highly recommend this book for anyone who is interested in what makes us go "tick" and who wants to help others.

Depressed? This book can help!
This book was awesome. It showed me how my emotions change. And best all - it gave me an easy way to keep me happy and enthusiastic about life. The book is filled with questions that help a person recall things from their past. I don't know how just remembering the things could give me such a great outlook on life - but it certainly did.

It was very easy to read, and most of the book was taken up with the memory exercises. I was actually able to recall things from my childhood that I haven't thought of since!

If you want to find out what it can do for you I definitelly suggest you try it yourself. Don't just take my word for it, try it!

Slick packaging, light on substance
I am a sucker for a nicely bound, handsomely illustrated book. So much so that I will probably buy the rest of the series despite the author's abbreviated attention to some weighty subject matter.

The chief problem is the brevity of the book; a slim seven chapters and hundred-odd pages. Holly Black's attempt to introduce the characters, build a bit of mystery, sympathetically handle one child's pretty severe abandonment issues, and reach some pinnacle of suspense to keep the reader coming back all fall short for lack of space. I feel very much like I have just read an outline for a very interesting novel.

However, I read this with my daughter (age nine) who paid much closer attention for this than with most books. I credit DiTerlizzi's excellent illustrations that kept her looking over my shoulder the entire time. The weakest of these drawings are equal to the best of Brett Helquist's in Lemony Snicket's Unfortunate Events. I mean that to be extremely high praise, as I greatly admire Helquist's abilities, as well. It is, primarily, her interest that will convince me to buy the next in the series.

My hope is that, with introductions out of the way, book two will cover more ground, build suspense, and magically make my buyer's remorse vanish completely.

Slight, but charming faerie fun.
Two series of books have redefined childrenÕs literature in the late 20th- and early 21st-centuries. The first is J.K. RowlingÕs phenomenal Harry Potter novels, books that transcend age brackets and shatter sales records with each new release. The second is A SERIES OF UNFORTUNATE EVENTS, written by the pseudonymous author Lemony Snicket, a collection of slender volumes that can be enjoyed by older readers, but are clearly written with the young folk in mind. In an attempt to crack this lucrative market, renowned fantasy artist Tony DiTerlizzi and relatively unknown author Holly Black introduce THE SPIDERWICK CHRONICLES with THE FIELD GUIDE.

Both DiTerlizzi and Black love faeries, and it shows, especially when it comes to presentation. THE FIELD GUIDE comes in the same, tiny hardcover form as Lemony SnicketÕs wildly popular series and is crammed with first-rate, evocative pen and ink illustrations. The suggested age bracket for the book is 6-10, but this is probably being a little generous on the high end of the age scale, as the writing is light and trips along with great speed through the 107 pages. An adult reader, or a well-read child, can work his or her way through THE FIELD GUIDE in less than hour, possibly even less than half an hour.

Though perhaps slightly clich'd Ð the children at the heart of the story come to a creepy, old Victorian house and encounter a world of mystery Ð THE FIELD GUIDE is still great fun. Author Black follows all the rules of childrenÕs literature when it comes to establishing her family: thereÕs a missing parent and the kids are nine-year old twin boys and a thirteen-year old girl. Three is always a great number for childrenÕs fantasy, as C.S. Lewis amply demonstrated with THE LION, THE WITCH AND THE WARDROBE and a J.M. Barrie established even earlier with PETER PAN. As mentioned, the high-quality presentation of the book goes a long way toward glossing over the slight nature of the text, as THE FIELD GUIDE feels substantial despite its miniscule size.

It seems clear that DiTerlizzi and Black intend to stake out a slightly younger territory with THE SPIDERWICK CHRONICLES than Lemony Snicket and J.K. Rowling have done. THE FIELD GUIDE is written at a level just high enough to engage the reader, but lacks the density of any one of SnicketÕs books. And the last two Harry Potter novels (THE GOBLET OF FIRE and THE ORDER OF THE PHOENIX, as of this writing) would simply flatten the child-sized, hardcover FIELD GUIDE.

Though there are reservations to be expressed over THE FIELD GUIDEÕs general lack of depth, there are only so many Rowling and Snicket books around. While young readers (and those who are young at heart) wait for the next classic, they could do far worse than to chase some faeries in DiTerlizzi and BlackÕs creation. Five pages in, itÕll hardly matter how slim the book really is, and five pages from the end, one has already begun to think about grabbing the next installment in the series.

Put this on the top of your reading list
All the things a kid could ever want in a book--Faeries, Goblins, secret rooms, and a quick read to boot. I frequent the library, but felt these books were so fantastic I had to buy copies of my own. The illustrations by Tony DiTerlizzi are wonderful, and I found myself eager to turn each page to see the next picture, as well as to read what would happen in the story. The style of the books are eerily similar to that of Lemony Snicket-- there are three siblings who find themselves in some sort of trouble or danger in each book, a letter from the author, and a snippet on the back of each book with reasons why you shouldn't read the story. Still, the events in the books were very original and kept me entertained. I can't wait for the rest of the series to be released (there are five books total). A must read!!

Review for Peter Pan
You will laugh, cry and be confused when you read this book. This book can teach you that what you think is good is not always good.

There is a boy named Peter Pan. He sprinkles fairy dust in Wendy and her two brothers. Then he shows them how to fly. He takes them to Neverland and shows them to the Lost Boys who live there. Wendy becomes their mother. She makes up rules, like any other mother would do. The boys have to follow these rules. Everything was fine until Captain Hook came with his crew to where the boys and Wendy were. While Wendy and the boys were at the lagoon, where they go every day after dinner, they see a girl named Tiger Lily, princess of her tribe. She was captured by Smee, one of Captain Hook's men. Then Peter saved her. A few days later Wendy and the boys were on their way to Wendy's house when they too were all captured by Captain Hook. Then Peter saves them. Then the lost boys, Wendy and her brothers go home. All except for Peter.

It is mostly about what the people in the book think is right with childhood. The kids in the book think that if you grow up it is bad, but in our case it is actually good.

Peter Pan is a violent book not really made for children under the age of 10 but people 10 and up can read it. It is violent because of the language that is spoken and the idea that killing could be fun. Also, the vocabulary is very difficult for children under 10 to understand. Even if you're older it is difficult to understand.

Overall, it is a good book but watch out for the violent ideas if you are reading it to little children.

A classic
This is an utterly charming work. It has been retold myriad times, but nobody else has done it as well as the original teller, J. M. Barrie.

It's difficult to know what to say about a book like this... everybody knows the story. But I guess that unless you've read this book (not just seen a movie or read a retelling), you don't really know the character Peter Pan, and without knowing the character, you don't really know the story. So read it.

By the way, if you enjoy this, you probably would also like "Sentimental Tommy" and its sequel "Tommy and Grizel", both by Barrie. There are differences (for one thing they're not fantasy), but there are also compelling similarities. Anybody who found Peter Pan a deep and slightly bittersweet book would be sure to enjoy them.

-Stephen

Become a child...again
When talking of literature, people tend to look solely at books they read today but forget what they used to read, namely the ones we read as children. It is a common misunderstanding that children's literature is to be read by children and children only, but when we come to think of it, which one of us are not children, at least in our hearts?

One of the best books any child, young or old, can read is Barrie's Peter Pan. Although written in the past century, it has something for any generation at any time. Its humorous views at the world from a child's mind left me rolling over the floor, laughing; the exciting storyline kept me busy with reading until the end; and the serious undertone made me think of whether the world wouldn't be a better place if we realised that deep down, however deep, we are in fact all children. So if YOU are a child, which you most certainly are, get yourself a copy and enjoy your ongoing childhood.

None Better At Detailing Warrior Buddhism
Although it gives very little on the tenets of living as a modern warrior, this book easily relates the ethics of the warrior with everyday life. It guides us to be true ("genuine") to ourselves, to break out of our self-deception, to overcome fear, to see goodness passed the darknees around, and to experience the magic of our lives. Also, it directs us to lead ourselves, and those we care for, toward an enlightened society. IT HONESTLY IS JUST A VERY EASY READ, AS WE CAN ALL RELATE TO THE MESSAGE IT GIVES AND THE VARIOUS POINTS MADE.

This book has been my daily study guide for 25 years
I rely on this book, it has been my companion for many years everywhere I go. I have given away dozens of copies, in various printings, to friends and foe.

What makes this 'pocket classic' edition special is the package: it is tiny. It really does fit in a small pocket; it is about the size of a deck of cards (I think - it has been a long time since I have seen a deck of cards!). But despite its minuscule size, it is easy to read, the print is clear and simple.

The content, too, is clear and simple. The Path of the Warrior is a way of being in the worl. It is not a religion, but a path to spirit. It is said to be very old (from well before Buddhism) and it is completely contemporaneous.

If your eyes are not as good as they were or as they should be, you should buy the more normal size book. But, definitely, buy it! It will change your life.

a beginners guide to Shambhala
Shambhala: The Sacred path of the Warrior is a book I read on whimsy. I read this book originally because of the relationship Trungpa had with Allen Ginsberg. I was curious so I picked up a copy of this book. It was enlightening because this is the real deal unlike a lot of the half baked Zen Buddhism invoked by many beatnik types. One need not drop acid to gain wisdom here. If you want the hokey, trippie hippie Buddhism, forget this book. Trungpa is writing of an ancient code of warriorship. It is an inward, spiritual journey drawn from the Tibetan warrior culture. One who reads this and learns the lessons it teaches will be assisted in overcoming self doubt and negativity. This is not a book of violence. It is really a guide towards overcoming violence. It is about learning mastery over oneself. I was inspired to be better after reading this book. It made me believe in the possibility of transcendence. That is saying something, too. It is a very motivational book.

Good novel, poor philosophy
I have always been fascinated by novels of ideas. I do not think that putting ideas into a narrative is easy and "Knowledge of Angels" is successful in bringing back to life the lively debates of the Medieval theologians. However, when it comes to philosophy the story is weak. It builds on a now somewhat outdated Enlightenment idea of Reason being natural and self-sufficient. Here we have a Prince who comes from an unknown place (a sort of rationalist Utopia of the 18th century) and ends up disputing with Medieval scholars. It is as unbelievable as a story where Plato is tele-transported to the British Library in the 19th century to have a discussion with Karl Marx. On the whole, however, I recommend the book as it is well-written and a good read

Knowledge of Angles
Knowledge of Angles by Jill Paton Walsh is one of the best books of our time. Its richly illustrated plot was truly unique. We read this book for a high school English class and both agreed that it was one of the best books we've ever read. The story of a wolf-girl slowly interwines with that of a man unjustly persecuted because of his beliefs. A young girl, raised by wolves, is captured by men and brought into the human society. A kindly boy finds help from the Cardinal who in turn decides to perform a religious experiment with her. She is brought to a secluded cloister where she is to be kept without any mention of God in her presence. In this way, the Cardinal tries to find out if there is actually a high spirit, that seems to guide you. This careful experiment soon leads to surprises, that would best have been left unknown. The story of a wrongly persucuted man makes "The Knowledge of Angles" even more amazing. Palinor, a king from an unknown "perfect world" fell off a boat and swam to a nearby island. He is immediatly thought to be an athiest because he neither knows that God exists, or knows that He doesn't. Palinor was put into prison, then released and taken to talk to the Cardinal. His arguments are so convincing that he even has the Cardinal somewhat doubting his faith. The two stories come together to create a very important theme, one of love, hate, God, and sympathy.

A highly intelligent fable of ideas
Jill Paton Walsh's "Knowledge of Angels" should havewon the Booker Prize. It is arguably the most outstanding yetaccessible of the five novels that made the shortlist in 1994. Set in the medievial ages, KOA is a brilliant and highly intelligent fable of ideas. Controversial perhaps, but timeless. Even today, we continue to debate the question of whether the concept of God is innate to man or acquired through the intellect and the socialisation process. In the middle ages, certainly during the times of the infamous Spanish Inquisition, it was heretical to espouse the creed of atheism. The crime was punishable by torture and death. The story of Amara (the wolf child), brought up and suckled by wolves before being returned to human society, was to be the great experiment by which learned scholars of the day sought to prove the existence of God. Palinor, the castaway who hails from a world where people live by the principles of humanism, finds his life endangered when his unconventional ideas threaten the orthodoxy of the day. Paton Walsh's novel isn't even specifically about religion or humanism. It is about the need for human society in its search for truth to understand the confining nature of paradigms, to continually challenge conventional wisdoms and reinvent itself, and to practice tolerance if the search for truth is to be served. Astonishing, yet not. "Knowledge of Angels" is a beautifully crafted and highly entertaining novel of ideas that should be read by those who love good literature. I can't recommend it highly enough. END
