Wonderful interactive book!
I purchased both of Crossley's Hide-and-Seek books for my son when he was 6 months old, and he has always loved them! They're wonderful interactive books, and in this one, a frisky puppy "pops up" and plays with a bunny and a cat. My son loves to anticipate each page, even though by now he knows exactly what to expect. He loves to point out everything in each picture, down to the tiniest bees on the flowers! Very simply written and colorfully illustrated, I only wish that Mr. Crossley would give us more of these! I must add that this book has somehow managed to survive my son's every attempt to destroy it. It's a very sturdy board book, and the elastic that holds the puppy is extremely strong, but I'd *still* recommend putting this book away after the reading session is over.

my son's favorite book!
Hide and Seek Puppy is my 15 month old's favorite book! We read it often, and everytime I pull the string down to hide the puppy, he squeals with excitement time after time. This book is wonderful for toddlers because it is heavy cardboard and can withstand hours of "toddler reading". Hide and Seek Puppy is a very sweet book with cute illustrations of a bunny and a cat, and of course puppy! This will soon be a classic in our family. I recommend it for any toddler who loves to be read to.

My favorite !
Of all the books out there on playing with kids, this is by far my favorite. His chapter on the power of "it" is excellent. I made it a mandatory read for my staff working with kids. Ive also seen this author speak and was most impressed.

Fun Games Galore!
I was very impressed with "Mr. Play" and his many activities. I teach at the middle school level and also coach several sports. I have found that the child management tactics described in the book often enhance the quality of my interactions with kids every day. My students/players have truly enjoyed the group games that I have taken from "How to Play With Kids." Two of my favorites are NAME WHIP and GREAT CHANGE ARTIST. I felt this was a solid book and well worth reading.

Classic stories, immaculately translated.
Petrushevskaya has referred to Russia as "a land of female Homers". She presumably means two things: that everyday life in Russia is an epic journey in itself, and that Russian women have a particular gift for telling their stories.

Petrushevskaya herself has an extraordinary sense of the importance of story-telling. These stories are not simply stories of everyday life in Russia during the seventies and eighties; they are stories about the importance of the stories we are all constantly telling: stories we tell in order to survive or to help others survive, stories we make up to protect ourselves from truth, stories we make up to protect others from truth, apparently banal stories that fail to conceal tragedy...

amazing!
I can only say it left me bewitched. It is an amazing and very unique collection of stories by a wonderful writer. I take my hat off!

I'm buying a second copy!
A wonderful, practical collection of very useful tips that I wish I could have referred to when my wife and I were raising children.

A Compilation of Great Advice for ALL Parents.
Being an avid Parents magazine subscriber, I turn through their pages every month searching for advice from parents across the country. It's almost like sitting in a room, sharing your best ideas with hundreds of other parents. Although Parents magazine features this every month, it's amazing that they've created an entire BOOK about this useful information. At least one in five of these tips could work for you. Creativity from around the nation combines into these pages to provide you with unforgettable hints and tips to make parenting a LITTLE easier and more fun for the kids. I've learned a lot in the past two years from just other parents' advice and strategies. It also helps you stimulate alternative ways of disciplining your children. I recommend this book to all parents willing to learn a little more about themselves and their children. Instead of arguing and cleaning up, you'll spend more quality time with the little people you love.

The Jacks Book & the Jacks
Excellent book with real old fashioned metal jacks! The only downside is that the jacks are stuck to the back page, and removing the box would damage the book . . . still worth it though.

Great Book On Jacks With Heavy Weight Metal Jacks & Ball
This book contained many variations from around the world of the game of Jacks. It's everything you ever wanted to know about Jacks. It even contains instructions for making your own, though with the excellent set of heavy weight metal (deluxe) jacks and ball that they include you won't need to. They even include a cloth bag to store it all in. Relive your childhood and refresh your memories with this book or better yet pass it on to a new generation. The only negative is that there aren't many illustrations in this book so younger children may need help in reading and following the instructions, but older children won't have any problems following the well written instructions.

Laugh, cry, smile, ponder....
You will experience all this as you read this 2-in-1 love story. The "Journey By Chance" refers to what happens in our lives while we are are still making plans. A daughter contemplates her future which has taken surprising twists. Her mother looks to the past in redefining her marriage and future. The plot is intriguing. The portrayal of human nature is accurate. The spiritual insight is profound. The humor is adorable. To the author: I like the way you think!

Very Enjoyable Reading!
Another wonderful book from Sally D. John. Good characater development, story lines and positive Christian content. I had a hard time putting the book down once I started reading it! I can't wait to read the next book in this series due out this summer.

Independent learning tool
This is an excellent book, even for those without background knowledge of the topic. It is thorough, and easy to understand. I was introduced to the topic in my college class, and have learned a great deal more, in detail in this book. This is an excellent selection for students, professionals, and people with a natural interest in the subject.

Left Brain, Right Brain
Right from the start, this book fascinated me. The authors write in a clear and concise manner that is both easy to understand and interesting; it's simply filled with data and concepts and I would highly recommend this book for anyone interested in neuroscience.

Excellent Gift!
This was one of the most beautiful gifts that we recieved upon the birth of our baby girl! A delightful book that I'm sure will give her much joy in the future.

captured our hearts
This book captured my heart as well as my 2 year-old daughter. She was delighted with the many flaps and richly toned warm illustrations outlining the Bible stories she loves. I was impressed with the darling details of illustrations and loved how each Bible story was briefly narrated in a story format in a toddler-friendly tone. References for where the story can be found was another thoughtful detail. The quality of the book, glossy-coated yet sturdy, is a wonderful treat in comparison to the many cardboard-like flap books in the market.

Wonderful Book!
I browsed this book in the bookstore many times before I actually purchased it, and I'm glad I did. The simplistic approach the artist takes with her paintings captivate me; the light lights contrasted with the dark darks are breathtaking, and yet everything seems so soft and pastel-looking. I have learned a lot about value because of this book. It's wonderful. Buy it.

Wow and wow again! A visual treat, inspiring and helpful
If you love watercolor (just to look or also to paint them) you may possibly adore this book as much as I do.

Lucy Willis is immensely talented. Her feeling for light and how to handle it with watercolor is nothing short of amazing. She does many of the paintings in this book "a la prima" or without pencil drawing first. This fact alone astonished me as her rendering is draftsman-accurate with a brush. She also has a nice section on painting interior scenes. I hope she writes another book, so I can see more of her delightful work.
