Hope for the Beasts, Fowl and Fish
I waited with great anticipation to receive this book. It is such a comfort to me to know there are others, and such respected others, that have such compassion for the animals, birds and fish with whom we share this world.

This books covers so many facets. In some places it is a difficult read, but only because the truth is told. We see
what we do to the innocent beings entrusted to our care.

Excerpts from Dr. Albert Einstein, Dr. Albert Schweitzer, veterinarians, former hunters, religious beings and others brought me from joy to sorrow and back again. The honesty of this book gives me courage to work even harder to protect our animals, fish and fowl. These beings that I see as natures tranquilizers.

I am grateful to the Weibers for the concern and compassion
shown in the putting together of this book.

Beautiful!
The quotes in this book are so wonderful, they are almost impossible to argue. They will open new doors for people who used to think positively about issues like hunting, vivisection, etc. They put into easy-to-understand words everything I've always wanted to say in defense of animals. Read this book, and it will change your life for the better. Hopefully someday everyone will feel the way the people quoted in here do.

Anyone with any compassion will benefit from this book
You can't help but be moved by the inspiring and compassionate views in these quotes. It will make you not only feel differently about certain issues but hopefully will also help you change your actions. It did for me.

A strong two thumbs up
Still with Me is a wonderful read, beautifully written and warmly delivered. It is universal in its message and will touch anyone who has lost a parent. I began reading the book in a restaurant as I dined alone; but became somewhat self-conscious as I cried almost as many times as I laughed, and sometimes that happened on the same page. This book promises to be not only a best seller but would make a splendid movie.

Still With Me
I felt as though I was in the same room with Andrea King Collier listening to her tell this story. It is a true account of the roller coaster of emotions that accompany caring for an ill parent. The book demonstrates the importance of preventative health care and the reasons to advocate for one's own health. It is fortunate that Andrea had the support of her husband, the distraction of two young children, the strength to care for her mother, and a sense of humor to help make it through even the darkest of days. This book is a tribute and an inspiration to all women.

Still With Me - a must read!
I was so moved and so utterly totally shaken by this book that I have been crying though the reading, my nose running and my chest tight. Now I am just raw with my grief. This book isn't so much about Ms Collier's mother as it is about all our mothers.
I am one of those daughter's who has taken on the care of an elderly parent. My mother is still living and I have been her "assisted care" for several years. In the years since my mother suffered a debillitating stroke I have struggled with the varying feelings of helplessness, inadequacy, andger, resentment - all of those and more.
This book is a gift to all of the daughters, all of the caregivers. It gave me permission to cry, to let it all out.
Beyond a clearly superior ability to write - the author posesses an indefinable quality that allows her to dip into universal truths and make them personal and immediate. "Unflinching" as one review characterizes it, does not even come close.

a beautiful gift
I was so shocked to know how she got both legs amputated. And I was so shocked to know that could happen to anybody. But her extraordinary strength of will to live gave me great courage to confront with my losses or unfortunates. While sensitively expressing a feminine part of her, she was also very competitive and eager to find her new life. Her optimism reminded me how profound our lifes and possibilities are. This book will be beautiful gifts for all my friends to share our thoughts. Thank you, Jami and Andrea.

Up and Running: The Jami Goldman Story
Incredible personal narrative about what it's like to be average turned to handicapped turned to awesome source of power! I picked this book up in the library, reading back cover and was intrigued before looking at the picture on front cover and wondering, how? My brother is an amputee and I've witnessed first hand the strange way that people treat him, as an outsider from normal existance. Jami describes herself and the way others perceive her very clearly. This book is impossible to put down as you read about the terror of being stuck in a vehicle for 11 days and wondering why you haven't died yet. It is equally as difficult to put down as you read about Jami's determination to return to life as it was before the accident. This book is passionate, informed, relevant to today, romantic, inspirational, realistic, descriptive, adventurous, and well thought out. However, as a 7 months pregnant about to be first time mother, I do not recommend this book for readers under 18 years old.

Absolutely Inspirational
As a single leg amputee I found it very easy to relate with a lot of the different trials and tribulations that Jami discussed in her inspirational story.I found on somedays not being able to put the book down just to see how she made it to the next step of her incredible journeys of adapting to her whole new world. It's also nice to know that no matter of ones differences from others, you are never alone.

Superb Resource!
It's so rare to read a piece of nonfiction, particularly medical nonfiction, and be able to tell that the authors truly care. This is one of these books! Many thanks to the authors for putting it together so beautifully!

Excellent book!
I really enjoyed this book. It is easy to read and provides a wealth of information about various ways to treat and cope with fibromyalgia. It is particularly nice to hear the stories and experiences of others who have this illness. This book is unlike any other out there and I want to thank the authors for writing it.

A wonderful resource for anybody with either FM or CFS
This is the book that I've been trying to find for years! The authors have done a wonderful job of interweaving the stories of patients with the helpful advise from practitioners of all kinds. It is great to have the full range of treatments from both conventional medicine as well as alternative & complementary medicine. The stories from the patients are so validating to hear. It helps to know that I am not alone in my daily job of managing this illness. The resource guide and bibliography are invaluable. Thank you SO much for writing this book!

Wonderful to have the lyrics from this great album.
Its Wonderful to have the lyrics from this great album. If you want the lyrics in a much easier to read formant then the liner notes of the CD then this is the book for you. IT CONTIANS ALL THE GREAT SONGS; Con Te Partiro, Caruso, E Chiove, Il Mare Calmo Della Sera, La Luna Ghe Non C'e, Le Tue Parole, Macchine DaGuerra, Miserere, Per Amore, Rapsodia, Romanza, Vivere, Vivo Per Lei, Voglio Restare Cosi. Also it contians the bounes track which is on some of the imports, FUNICULI, FUNICULA.' Also you an play along on Paino as well.

very romanzic!
In a world filled with lots of noise, it is truly a pleasure to shut out the noise of every day life and just listen to something so peaceful...

The chance to play music sung by bocelli.
After listening to Andrea Bocelli's cd entitled "Romanza," I just had to have the sheet music collection for all of those great songs. Now you have the exclusive opportunity to play some great romantic tunes sung by this tenor, including the popular "Con Te Partiro" and "Misere." Be aware that this is a fake book, which basically means that it does not contain the notes to play for the left hand, but it does include the chords. Why listen to the cd when you can play these fabulous tunes? I would say that this is a book at the intermediate level, but I will also recommend it for beginners since it provides good and essential practice with chords.

ENTERTAINING AND EDUCATIONAL
While alphabet books for children abound , a few are head and shoulders above the rest - C Is For Coyote is one such stand-out.

The book does focus on examples found in the southwestern part of our country, yet the information included is so fascinating and the photography so beautiful that it will appeal to youngsters all over America.

Each letter of the alphabet is accompanied not only by a first rate full color photo but also by a brief descriptive paragraph. For instance, "B is for Bobcat," which is where readers learn that bobcats live in rocky dens, are solitary, and like to hunt at night.

From the title "C is for Coyote" it is revealed that coyotes are "one of the most adaptable animals in the world.....Yip! Yip! Oo-oow! Known for their distinctive howl, some Native Americans call coyotes "songdogs" and interpret their howling to predict the weather."

And so it goes through "P is for Pueblo," which is Spanish for town, all the way to "Z is for Zion," one of our most outstanding National Parks.

What a treat to find a book that doesn't "talk down" to children, but entertains and educates.

- Gail Cooke

Filled with stunning photographs
Deftly produced by Andrea Helman, Art Wolfe and Gavriel Jecan, C Is For Coyote: A Southwest Alphabet Book is a gorgeously illustrated alphabet book for young readers ages 5 to 8, and filled with stunning photographs by Art Wolfe and Cavriel Jecan of the wildlife, environment, and landmarks of the American Southwest. Brief factoids about each creature or landmark make for engaging and educational reading. C For Coyote is very highly recommended for family, school, and community ABC book collections.

I love this alphabet book!!!!
I love this alphabet book and at age 47 (and counting) I hope I never lose my fascination with beautiful children's books. "C is for Coyote" boasts amazing animal and southwestern photography (photographers have worked for National Wildlife Federation, Smithsonian and National Geographic, to name a few). The beautiful photos are supported by informative and interesting text which will make you long to visit the locations. I truly do not want to pigeonhole this alphabet book only for children as it is a wonderfully simple geographical guide to the American southwest. Once you have opened this book you will want to make the pilgrimage to the four corners area. A fine book for young children learning their A, B, Cs and a real treat for the rest of us who, on occasion, like to revisit our A, B, C's.

Lovely gift for a mom-to-be
This book would make a lovely gift for a mom-to-be, a book to be savored during the nine months of pregnancy and beyond. It's kind of like a crash course in motherhood for new moms, overflowing with thought-provoking readings on what it means to be a mother, but putting it that way makes it sound boring, which it is not at all. It's an amazingly poetic and beautifully designed book.

Five stars from pregnancy book author Ann Douglas
This book is the ideal gift for any mother-to-be. It features thought-provoking mini-essays about how pregnancy transforms you, and the text is liberally sprinkled with quotations from literature, interesting cultural facts, and eye-catching photos and illustrations. It's kind of a cross between The Pregnant Woman's Comfort Book by Jennifer Louden and The Pregnancy Journal by A. Christine Harris -- two other books that I love. Celebrating Motherhood is a very special book indeed. I intend to include in the list of recommended readings for future editions of my books The Mother of All Pregnancy Books and The Mother of All Baby Books. Highly recommended.

Like a comfy chair...
If you don't need information on the medical aspects of pregnancy or if you're like me and have a full shelf of expert opinions on motherhood and pregnancy, this might just be the book for you. It's short reading selections from a variety of sources and traditions, meant to keep you sane and centered during pregnancy and motherhood. I purchased it at about 7 months and feel like I will keep reading it after baby arrives. It's also a good gift idea for a pregnant friend who already has enough bouncy seats, pacifiers, diapers, baby doo-dads, and other "necessities."

Read this book and recharge your Mommy batteries.

An inspirational masterpiece like no other!
One of my favorite books from Brian Andreas' StoryPeople series. And just like his others, I constantly find myself drifting between the lines and beyond the pages -- only to discover that they let me reflect upon my own thoughts and feelings.

Much in the way of Dr. Seuss' or Shel Silverstein's books, Still Mostly True epitomizes the simple things in life -- like love and laughter and memories and dreams.

Maybe the best way to sum it up would be like this:

No words can describe this book better than the words YOU use to describe the way life feels. Remember that song that you loved when you were a junior in high school?... It's like that. You bring your life to his stories.

My favorite book ever.
Still Mostly True is the greatest book I have ever had the pleasure of reading- it cheers me up when I am sad, inspires me when I am blocked, and reminds me to look toward the little things in life for happiness. I appreciate Brian Andreas more than he will ever know for helping me, my mother, and my roomates at college through good, bad, happy and sad times. I only wish he had fifteen books like this one. I would never stop smiling!

Brian Andreas is my new favorite poet.
I have long been a collector of poetry, from Blakely and Browning to Rod McKuen (who I enterviewed twice for a literary magazine), but it has been a long time since I was so impressed with a poet. Brian Andreas is a sensitive soul who captures thoughts with humor and truth; he seems to say exactly what you have always thought, but never could quite find the right words yourself. Every page of this book is profound and exquisitely true.

An Insight into Air Force Pilot Training
Scott Anderson gives a very accurate depiction of the rewards and hardships of air force pilot training. It's written in third person but clearly is autobiographical. It spans from his being a civilian to earning his wings and becoming an F-16 pilot. It's very enjoyable and a must-read for anyone considering a career in military aviation. Tragically, Capt. Anderson was killed last year in a plane crash.

A great definition of fighter pilot life
Unknown Rider is the greatest book I have ever read. I have read it four times and still enjoy it. I would recommend it to anyone who is eager about aeroplanes. Scott Anderson is a great writer and really captures the life of a fighter pilot and makes you feel as if you are there. At 12, this book will stay with me for life.

It took me soaring through the clouds!
The book provides an insider's view into the world of the military jet fighter pilot but it isn't just a bunch of technical jargon. The author has a great ability to convey the sense of adventure and wonder involved with becoming a jet pilot. This is a great read for flying buffs and anyone who wants to stay on the ground but learn what its like to soar through the clouds. The author's book "Distant Fires" offers adventure of another kind tracing a canoe trip from Lake Superior to Hudson Bay -- replete with humerous observations on life in general. I recommend it as well.
