Code of Honor (Signet Regency Romance)

Very enjoyable book!
This is my favorite book by Ms. Pickens. The hero and heroine have some wonderful scenes together and you can tell they are made for each other. It was worth the wait to find out what the secret was that the villian was trying to keep hidden, and what it had to do with the heroine and her brother. I couldn't put the book down.

A wonderful Regency read - highly recommended
Ms. Pickens has created a gem of a book. The heroine is intelligent, compassionate, and charmingly idiosyncratic. The hero is the right mixture of strength, arrogance, honor, and humor. They find a common interest in botany, of all subjects. The subplot involving a nasty villain and family secrets complements the main romance, without overshadowing it.

Couple Fits
Very comprehensive overview on how relationship dynamics operate; provides a framework to demonstrate how different characters can conflict under everyday life. Clear explanations of the 3 major behavioural types & the book proceeds to identify all the different permutations that exists.
It works through various case studies under each combination & provides useful tips on how to function 'better' within a long term relationship, yet maintaining your own ethos.
This was a very good comfort read for me

very helpful and interesting book
The book is extremely interesting and helpful. It provides an easy-to-follow means to better relationships in an entertaining fashion.

Cuba: 400 Years of Architectural Heritage
Published in Hardcover by Whitney Library of Design (1997)
Authors: Rachel Carley and Andrea Brizzi
Amazon base price: $49.95
Average review score:

Bella!
Lots of beautiful photography (by Andrea Brizzi) for anyone who dreams of Cuba and would like to feel the cobblestones of Old Havana underfoot, taste the mojitos in the lobby bar of the Hotel Nacional, hear the strains of the mariachi band at sunset, and learn about the history of our most enigmatic, so-close-yet-so-far neighbor through it's architecture and the very readable text by Rachel Carley.

Fantastic, a work of art
One of the best pictorial books on Cuba that has ever been published. It's the realization of profesionals and very objective, a very difficult achievement considering Cuba. Highly recommended to those willing to discover the real Cuba.

The Curious New Yorker: 329 Fascinating Questions and Surprising Answers About New York City

You want NYC answers? I got yer answers right here, pal!
Among my favorite books are Cecil Adams's pointed and funny "Straight Dope" series, in which, with wit and candor, he answers any stupid question a reader cares to pose him. Here's the New York City equivalent: an entertaining, educational, and enlightening collection of questions about New York City, answered with style and authority by the writers of the New York Times's "F.Y.I." column.

This is an essential collection for any New York resident, expatriate, fan, or tourist. Ever wonder why subway conductors perform that wacky John Travolta pointing move before opening the doors of a train? What's that imposing-looking building with no windows in lower Manhattan? What's up with the Grecian urn design on paper coffee cups in New York delis? For anyone who's ever wondered about NYC mysteries like these (and many, many more), here's the ultimate resource.

Like eating peanuts, it's addictive (I dare to you just read *one* question and answer!), and the Q&A format is brisk and entertaining, answering queries on subjects ranging from history, sports, streets, food, subways, and New Yorkers of all stripes. A thorough "New York Gazetteer" at the end is a quick almanac of all that info you think you need but don't know where to find (how to determine the nearest cross street to a Manhattan address, what's your police precinct and community board location, etc.) The only complaint? This book ends much too soon...sequel, please, FYI guys?

If you live in New York or visit it, you *need* this book. After all, the consummate New Yorker is a know-it-all expert who always has the answers about the most arcane and obscure topic. With this book, you can be one too.

Go ahead! Bite the Big Apple!
This book is a must-read for any self-respecting resident of the Big Apple. The only thing more fascinating than the answers are the questions themselves, things that may have briefly passed through the transem of your subsconscious and quickly forgotten about. Why, for example, does every building in NYC seem to have one of those wooden water towers on top? Why is West 4th Street actually on the East side? Who is Major Deegan, and if he was a good enough military leader to get his own highway, why have I never read about him in the history books? Read "The Curious New Yorker" and you will be able to answer these and hundreds of other questions - and achieve A-list status on the Gotham party circuit as a result. That's because there is no more fascinating topic of discussion in New York than the City itself. Instead of giving everyone a copy of the Yellow Pages when you move into an apartment, your superintendent should give you this book. You'll get a lot more out of it.

Must-read for every dancer and parent of a dancer
This book is the most comprehensive guide to the physiology of dancing. It answers important questions about what is normal and what can cause problems. It also deals with correcting technique problems and preventing injuries by proper strengthening exercises. It covers the entire body from head to toe. In my opinion every dance teacher should read this book so they can responsibly develop young dancers. This book should be reprinted --- anyone who dances should read it and keep it handy as a valuable resource.

You don't have to be a dancer to love this book!
Dancing Longer, Dancing Stronger is for anyone who desires to understand their body and how to make it work more effectively. Along with detailed anatomical descriptions of all the bones and muscles in the body and how they interact, are exercises for both strengthening and lengthening each muscle set. You don't have devote a fortune in expensive equipment or a large amount of time doing repetive, boring movement. Suggestions in the Question and Answer sections help you define your structural weaknesses and suggest exercises within the program for overcoming them. Plus you never have to count past 8! Each exercise is done to one of four 8 count rhythms with most exercises being either 4 or 8 reptitions each. As a figure skater, this book has provided me with the best off-ice training I've found to date. Even my coach wants a copy!

I am the author
I am the author, Andrea D'Allasandra, of DEATH HOUSE and I want to thank everyone whose contacted me and of course, who have purchased this book. The main question everyone asks: Did this really happen? I based this novel of six people trapped in a mountain chalet during a blizzard with a madman, on an actual incident. It supposedly occurred back in the 50s in the Blue Ridge Mountains. From what I understand, the killer was never found. He left behind five corpses. Since I worked as an aide in a mental hospital in Asheville, N.C. back in the 60s, I came across a few patients who would certainly follow the mind-set of the killer. His physical appearance is also based on one of the violent patients. Yes, he was terrifying. Until my next book...THE MASTER OF HELL MOUNTAIN.

Woooo! Scary!
If you're a fan of Psycho or Hannibal, then this book will scare the beejesus out of you! I think this is Andrea D'Allasandra's first book but boy, can she make you double-lock your doors. The setting is an old mountain chalet during a blizzard. Six people are trapped while a really scarcy psycho prowls around with an axe. It all takes place in just one night but by the end of the book, you're drained. A real goodie. I read this while it was raining one night here in Mobile. Couldn't sleep!
