Clear & Consise
I love this book. I used it to improve my resume a few years ago, and I have loaned it to 5 people. This book will help you find the words you need to most accurately represent yourself on paper. Out of all of the publications on this topic, I feel this is one of the best.

I am a grantwriter and refer to this book often to assist me with clean/clear writing. I recommend it to anyone who could use some help in getting their point across on paper.

Very enlightening, succinct and helpful!
This is more than just a formula book. Andrea Kay gives you exercises and ways of looking at yourself, that help you see your strengths, then focus and express them in language that attracts positive attention.

By using good and clearly explained examples, Ms. Kay helps you understand not only what to say and how, but also why you need to say it.

With clear, concise examples the book also encourages the resume writer to be inventive and even bold. Ms. Kay believes that too many resumes are dull and boring in their sameness. She shows you how to rise above the pack!

Absolutely charming stories that are good for the soul.
Upon the first read, I was actually disappointed with this book, mainly because it wasn't what I had expected it to be. But I went back to it and fell in love with it. I have read these stories again and again. So simple yet sophisticated. They are gentle, loving, warm, feel good stories that remind you to celebrate the joy of living. I return to this book when I feel down and it always brightens my spirit. It has remained a constant favorite since the early 1990's.

peace & magic
I had the pleasure to work with Andrea Carlisle as a student, and her very sincere personality shines throughout the pages of this book. Lazy LaRue and Pubah dance liltingly and gaze at the world with one another, one foot slightly in reality but always light-heartedly. These are two women who really love their lives, and through deceptively simple description and dialogue (the characters sneak up on you with subtle epiphanies on existence!), you learn to perhaps appreciate your own world more. I do dearly reccomend this well-loved book------ it is peaceful, loving, and a delight.

This book is amazing. Buy it.

A wonderful surprise
It is rare to find such a clear explication of a topic in what is typically a turgid field. Henderson manages to combine originality of thought with lucid writing to create a little gem of a book. While sometimes she may stretch a bit to make her points, it is forgivable in service of developing her provocative thesis. A bit steep at ( ), but nonetheless worthwhile.

Just what we need to be self relient!
A fun book to read. Full of real stories of people who sale their home grown plants and vegges. Well worth the price. Read also "Secrets to a Successful Greenhouse and Business"

Marketing Tool Supreme
This book is designed for the small farmer to help create a marketplace for what they produce. It covers virtually every area that produce can be sold from direct marketing, farmers markets, CSA's, and restaurant sales to name a few. He lists the advantages and disadvantages of most plans in detail. He covers how to display signs and produce in the most appealing manner. Of particular interest to me was his discussion of "value added" products. There is an excellent Resource Section at the end of the book with a multitude of organizations that are sources of information. This is a must-have in the home library!

Send the Cat to Jamaica
Published in Paperback by Book Street Pr (1999)
Author: Andrea Shumsky
Amazon base price: $3.99
Used price: $29.00
Average review score:

a great book for young and old with a sly sense of humor
I could definitely relate to an endlessly meowing cat -- and what can be done! Ms. Shumsky's work is like a good Warner's Brothers cartoon with an adult/mature twist. The illustrations are lovely in dramatic black and white with a simple narrative for children. It's nice to see a new author/illustrator on the children's book scene. I'd like to see more of her work.

Welcome Whimsy in a otherwise cynical World.
I loved the artwork.Even people who aren't cat lovers will empathize with this Feline Journey into near oblivion. But wait! A twist at the end reveals new beginnings...

Memorable, Incredible
It was the best Disney book I have ever read. I am a Disney fanatic, and would have wished so much, to meet Walt Disney, even though he is frozen at the moment. I loved this book, because it was so heartwarming to me, and it reminds me of everyday life...I mean the story. You never know what is going to happen next. Something dangerous, something funny, or something romantic? I guess it was so special, because my life is exactly like the ones of Kovu and Kiara. The writers must have put a lot of time and thinking for this story. I wish the best. Thanks!

Wonderfull pictures, very in-depth
I am a Lion King freak, and so have collected many children's books. I often am disapointed that the drawings barely resemble the actuall characters. This book is not a disapointment, the pictures are wonderfull, and I flip through it again and again. It also goes very in depth with the story, readers with a short attention span may get bored with the long text.

Educational and Fun Book!
This is a great Book! It's great for teaching kids about animals, people, food, things, expressions, you name it. It's great! Our daughter loves it! She'll be three in August and I bought this book for her about a year ago. It's one of her favorites. It's worth it, especially if you sit down with your child and talk about what she sees in the pictures. We encourage you to pick one up today for your kid(s).

Lots to do!!
Great big board book that really has a lot to offer. Fold out pictures, slide windows and lift flaps plus lots of great textures and pictures. A good learning tool when toddlers are learning new words!! I always give this book as well as others in the series as gifts for my daughter's two year old friends.

Sol Lewitt: 25 Years of Wall Drawings, 1968-93

Amazon base price: $29.95

An amazing book!
Artist Sol LeWitt's wall drawings are shown in two parts in this book- how they are executed, and the final product. LeWitt's career also includes working for architect I.M. Pei, and coining the term "conceptualism". The book is designed perfectly, and the only drawback is there are no pictures of the artist, or any interviews.

the definitive work on lewitt wall drawings!
Exquisite photographs and an exemplary text that covers the history of Sol Lewitt's wall drawings in depth. This will be a classic.

Synchronization Techniques for Digital Receivers (Applications of Communications Theory)
Published in Hardcover by Plenum Pub Corp (1997)
Authors: Umberto Mengali and Aldo N. D'Andrea
Amazon base price: $150.00
Average review score:

Well organized, solid material
As mentioned in the preface the four areas that differentiate this book from others are (1)only *digital* synchronization is discussed, (2) Maximum Likelihood metric is used throughout, (3) for performance measure the Cramer Rao lower bound is used and (4) in addition to PAM, CPM is considered in detail too.
However, what I like most about this book is (1) its organization where you can directly jump to the chapter of interest with minimum overlap between chapters and (2) its coverage which is very fundamental, deductive and solid, staying away from ad hoc arguments.

Valuable resource of synchronization in digital comm.
This book summarizes authors' works on synchronization in digital comm over the past ten years. There are very few books specifically dedicated to this topic. According to my knowledge, several books on sync are now out of print, and the publication of this book can fill this blank. The most important feature of this book is that it provides valuable information on the sync techniques for continuous-phase modulation (CPM) which will play an improtant role of the next generation of PCS.

lesson plan
this book is great for a lesson plan. I found it to be very useful to show how we use our hands. a great learning to tool to teach preschool children.

These Hands is Empowering to little hands
This book is wonderful for emerging readers & for those children just learning to appreciate symbols of inspiration & empowerment. Children all want to do for themselves & Hope Price's book lets all children know that they can do so many, wonderful & helpful things. The poetry is simple & easy for all to grasp. The illustrations are beautiful. I think that this "big little book" will spark the imagination of children & hopefully get them thinking about the many ways they can contribute to their family, friends & society. My kids loved it. We look forward to more stories from Hope.
