Although written for women, this book should also be be read by men who also have "hard choices" to make. If they make the correct choices, perhaps many of the decisions made by women will be less difficult.

This book is great! I am 45, a highly driven person with two school age children. I left a corporate management carreer after 15+ years feeling completely burned out and confused. Even though I knew it was not possible to be a Superwoman, I still tried to do it all. This book explains my feelings about my corporate experience and is a good guide to me for my current at home experience. I have gone back to reread it many times. I am now aware of my Third Shift, always have had it, just never gave it a name.

Choices are always tough, and Michele Bolton's THE THIRD SHIFT makes them so much easier to make. Faced with the terrifying task of starting my college applications, I decided to pick up a book for help. At first, I did not know what to choose, but I finally settled on Michele Hernandez' book because it's so helpful and easy to read. She's very to the point and includes all the essential information, and I felt most confident with her book that I would obtain the information I needed to gain admission to the selective colleges that I am applying to.

Her section on supplementary materials and the interview is especially helpful. I would definitely recommend all high school seniors to purchase this book! It -really- helps.

Acing the College Application is the best book any college-bound Senior could buy. One of the greatest things it provides is a sample activity list. Many students do so many extracurricular activities that it can be hard to package your responses into the tight confines of an application. Hernandez makes this possible, through an activity list, that allows you to elaborate in greate detail without sounding pretentious. My application was greatly enhanced because of this asset. She also offers interview advice and tells you the real deal about extra materials. She answers your every question in this short, easy to read book. I love Michele Hernandez!

This is the first book which has addressed the spiritual problem I've been experiencing for over 3 years now. The authors use a most interesting format of sharing the personal story of Novotni's grandmother and then spinning off aspects of this story to apply to the reader's life. I've searched and searched for a book like this to no avail until I discovered Angry with God. It's given me the first glimpse of hope on how to reconnect with a God I thought either no longer cared or didn't even exist.

This is a very good book. It is short and easy to read (I finished it in a day) but it covers a lot of ground.
It has some good analogies for mistaken ideas we might have about Gods nature (such as His being a traffic cop or a genie).

Although it is written from more of a psychological background, it is biblically based, and gives good, practical advice on why we should want a better relationship with God, as well as how to go about improving the relationship we have.

"Angry with God" by Novotoni and Peterson is a refreshingly honest look at a long neglected problem. The story of Novotoni's grandmother is a very powerful example of a woman who suffers numerous atrocities and is very angry with God for not answering her prayers. Her story is compelling and entices the reader to examine a very sensitive and difficult issue. I loved the way Grandmother's story was woven with biblical and psychological explanations. This made the book easy to read but substantial in content and without an intimidating tone. This book does not preach at the reader. Instead, I felt as if the authors were sharing a story while we sat on the back porch. There are no simple or easy answers like many other religious or self-help books. They recognize the sensitivity of the issue and offer suggestions for reconciliation that are honest and healthy. That is what I appreciate in a book. Refreshingly honest, easily read yet good content. This is a "must read" book for the serious and estranged believers. I sense that these authors have much more to say on this subject and I am anxious to see what they write next.

I bought this book and then got high and read it. It was neat.

Many different universities and colleges provided the author with the names of works they recommend or use in first-year English classes. I remember seeing the first edition of this book when I was in high school and falling madly in love with it. Unfortunately, it was at the public library and someone lost it a month after I checked it out. I am an obsessive list-maker and this adds fuel to the fire of my two passions, lists and literature. Not all the books listed in here are predictable, canonical works, either. I'm surprised how many are out-of-print, making the search for great reading material even more fun. One gripe: no comprehensive index. I may just make my own.

This book was written by my high school english teachers. It was published and I purchased it years after I graduated from college. I'm using the book as a means to measure how "well read" I am. Whenever, I'm at a loss of what more to read, I pick up this gem and find numerous suggestions. Thank you Doug, Michelle, and Patty.

Eryk Hanut's "Rumi Cards" are a fabulous addition to my knowledge and practice in the work of Rumi. They are very appealing to the senses and help deepen my understanding of both Rumi and myself. And sometimes I am flat out stunned by the outcome. It feels like magic!

A wonderful addition to my collection of divinity tools...my first introduction to Rumi. Very nice, high-quality. I love how the cards are more pliable than most cards. In my most memorable drawing of these cards to-date, I was being told that I had earned a profound blessing...I was at one of the lowest points in my life and I scoffed at the prospect; but not long after, the blessing came and was truly unmistakable. Tools like this, that make these divine experiences so brilliantly clear are invaluable in deepening the faith and inspiring the "magic."

This book and card combo are truelly amagnficent creation. They bring to life one of the greatest minds to ever grace this earth. Opening the minds of all who touch and read the cards. i have had friends read or simply glanceover the cards and suddenly be entranced by Rumi. Great idea.

"Conversations..." is one of those books that you don't have to read from cover to cover to "get" it. You can just open it to one of the 18 topics and get a quick jolt of inspiration, laughter, or motivation. Or you can sit down and write out all the exercises and gain deeper understanding of the aspects of your self. There are also affirmations, quotations, and poetry which can be copied and stuck where you can see them and be reminded of the direction you've chosen on your path. I recommend this book to anyone who is seeking clarity on their spiritual path.

This book came to me at a time that was trying for me. I needed the spiritual, down-to-earth wisdom of the authors. It is written in very simple language that makes sense. I would reccommend it to anyone that is having a "bad time." And I would reccommend it to others to keep on tap for bad times.

I cannot even tell you just how much I enjoyed this book. I know this book is for women howvere as a hetrosexual male who is always wanting to reach higher levels of spirituality and Success it is amazing to read. How brave of these two women to tell us what they went through so that we can help ourselves. I loved this book so very much. Thanks to the authors for their wisdom, humor and deepth of spiriuality.

Since I had already spent countless hours on the Internet searching for information on the care of degus, I thought that this book may be a waste of my time. I ordered it anyway (the price was right & afterall it was the first published English book on degus). I was extremely surprised at the amount of information contained in the book. Those who already own degus will not be disappointed, and will be surprised at some of the information (which may be contrary to what some internet sites claim) in it. For those who are new degus owners, or thinking about becoming an owner, I dare say that you should not consider buying such an exotic pet until you have read this book. The book "Degus" references many scientific studies from which some of the information was gathered. This book will certainly improve your understanding of your pets needs, and the quality of care that you provide them. :)

Harnessing 3ds max 5 is one of the better tutorial books that I've read. Although 3ds max is sometimes less straightforward than Photoshop and Illustrator, this book assists with clearly-marked sections about basic parametric modeling, basic materials, animation, lighting, etc. Even if you've been using 3ds for a while, the last 250 pages contain useful information and tutorials about more advanced modeling, materials, animation, and special effects.

Above all, as someone else mentioned, Harnessing 3ds max 5 provides a good deal of insight to 3D modeling and animation as it flows from concept to tutorial and back. If you're new to 3ds max, start here. I would also recommend this book to someone who is having difficulty understanding the principles behind the tutorials included with the software, (as I most certainly was). This book is up there with the best of Adobe and Macromedia Press.

This book is in a word incredible. I tried to use the manual and it's tutorials, but things didn't work out and I really wasn't learning anything. Their tutorials were confusing and didn't give all the necessary steps. On the other hand, this book is more accurate than the manuals and it is also alot easier to read. This book teaches as though you were in a classroom environment. I already have the confidence to try new things and can usually repeat the tutorials from memory, because they are very intuitive. I have nothing but praises for this book. It is absolutely essential for the uninitiated, like myself, who are trying to learn this mammoth application. I have nothing but praises for this outstanding teaching and reference work. Buy it today.

I have read many software books. Most are good, some are great. This one is great. 3D Max is one of the hardest programs to master. This book will give you the power to create and animate anything your mind can imagine with jaw-dropping results. With 3D Max, its all about mastering the exhaustive list of toolsets, modifiers, and other utilities this program is jam-packed with. This book makes it all happen. Surprisingly easy to read, you will finish this book with a full arsenal of methods and techniques that may be strong enough to land you an entry level job. I was so pleased when I received this cookbook. For the price it's just a great book. I have a cookbook collection and this is one of my all-time favorites. It is full of delicious , easy recepies and the photos are just beautiful. I would highly reccomend this to anyone looking for a pasta book. You wont be dissapointed.

I tend to associate Williams-Sonoma with snobbery, and was tentative about this book. However, the recipes are darn good and easy, nothing fru-fru. Making homemade is truly a snap, and now our family loves to make and eat it all the time. This book shows how to make all pasta shapes as well as pasta sauces, with every day ingredients.

Highly recommend to anyone who loves pasta!

Fight in the Fields - without a doubt, a story worthy of a thousand books. This book is simply a comprehensive history of the UFW. The struggle and the suffering must never be forgotten and continue today. A fantastic account of a imensely important movement.

Okay, I'm biased. I'm the author of a mystery novel in current release that features a Latino private investigator as the protagonist, and I've been teaching in a rural California high school with a student population over 98% Hispanic for over twenty years. This biography, loaded with photographs and facts, is perfect for today. It clearly proves what an exceptional man Cesar Chavez was and what exceptional accomplishments that man achieved. If you have any interest in the real America, you have to read this book.

This very personal history of the Cesar Chavez and the UFW is a comprehensive account of the farmworkers movement and the difficulties encountered in their fight for justice and fair treatment. Very well written and illustrated.
