Lucky Monkeys In The Sky :

A True Accomplishment
Lucky Monkeys In The Sky is an oustanding accomplishment for this up-and-coming author, Michele Geraldi. In short, it is a story about a girls (an individuals) struggle through her own psyche and her own soul. The book deals with faith, morals in the face of immoral behavior such as drugs, sex and violence. It also deals with overwhelming feelings of inferiority that are cast upon her from every source around her including her family, friends and co-workers. The main character, Julie, has extreme emotions. She is reserved yet her thoughts and actions are dramatic. It is amazing at how many crazy things happen to her when it seems like all she really wants to be is left alone. Her extreme emotions lead to serious consequences, and lead the book to one final question, the last question. I think people will benefit from this novel, not only for entertaining purposes, but for their own self purposes as well. I reccomend it to everyone. Thank you.

De-Mystifying Macs
As the author of several excellent computer technology books, Michelle Robinette offers some timely and pertinent classroom help for instructors in her book, Macs for Teachers. Written in the same humorous, yet succinct, style as the other instructional books in the Dummies series, Macs for Teachers de-mystifies the many possible classroom computer applications that, in the past, have been only confusing. Interspersed with cartoons and personal observations, Ms. Robinette, uses a witty, understandable style of writing to clarify and simplify many difficult procedures that should aid in: Organizing and simplifying classroom records, through word processing, databases, and spreadsheets, using ClarisWorks (now AppleWorks); expanding students' expressive artistic and writing outlets using Kid Pix, The Writing Center, The Student Center, and The Print Shop Deluxe; providing easy accessibility to the Internet as a research, telecommunications, and educational tool; organizing the technological classroom to fit a variety of situations. Also available are a good glossary of key terms, a troubleshooting section (which I too often have to use), phone numbers for advice and help, and a huge section of annotated lists of educational software. With the added bonus of an attached, supportive CD, which includes demos and free software, this book package is well worth the price. Since this book is three years old now, published in 1997, my only reservation about the modern applicability of this edition is questioning if it is actually up-to-date, considering how quickly computer technology changes. I hope that this book will be updated with the inclusion of a broader spectrum of technology and terminology. However, all aspects of the book are presently still very usable and helpful for today's teacher and an excellent way to put technology to good use in the classroom.

Need a jumpstart to get started scrapbooking?
I found this book very helpful. As a beginning scrapper, many of the magazines and idea books are overwhelming. The layouts in those books and magazines look so professional, and are time-intensive and costly to make. I really appreciated this book, in which Michele tells you what you need to know to get started, and helps you along the way.

She starts at the beginning - with how to choose supplies and how to sort your pictures. She takes you step-by-step and after reading this book, I guarantee any beginner will be thinking, "I CAN do this!"

I'm not saying this book is only for the beginner, however, there are quite a few different techniques described that would be helpful to more advanced scrappers as well.

I really enjoyed the author's pages and the fact that she was sharing her own family's photos made it that much more personal and real. The layouts in this book are do-able and realistic.

I would encourage wanna-be scrappers and newbie scrappers to not get hung up about the latest trends and doing things in a particular way. Your own style is what's right for you! There are a few basics to learn about using acid-free products, but I feel that there's too much pressure now to do fancy, "lumpy" and [extravagent] pages.

I highly recommend this book!

Incredible Literature
This is the most quality literature I have ever read. The collection of quotes is superb, and very true. Below are a few sample quotes from the book. Remember Mama saying these to you?

*Thirty-seven chews to a bite!

*If you don't eat your okra, you won't catch any fish.

*Clean your glasses- you can't be an optimistic with a misty optic.

*Always wear a coat and tie when you go on an airplane.

*Horses sweat, men perspire, ladies glow.

*When in doubt, write a thank you note.

Not only are there brilliant quotes like these (there are so many!), but mothers of our favorite actors, politicians, athletes, scientists, and authors, like Gertrude Stein, Joe DiMaggio, Liz Taylor, Thomas Alva Edison, and Ernest Hemingway.

Truly, Momilies has such great reading content for everyone to enjoy.
