This book is fascinating and remarkably useful. it`s great both for browsing and for reference. I`ve already bought and read two books I found described here and have added several more to my "to read" list. Hooked on Horror is worth the price for anyone who likes horror stories--not only is it enjoyable in itself, but it leads you to other reading within your areas of interest that you may never have known abou otherwise. I know that's true for me.

I'm not one for Christian books but since this had medieval knights and sword-fighting I picked it up. I was entertained by the action parts and enjoyed the religious background stuff. It was very different in a positive way. The dialog is awesome, the story line cool. K-dog in the house!

In a nut shell, this book is the best Christian book ever written. It has love, betrayal and adventure. It's set during medieval times where the Shroud of Turin is taken to this castle where no one believes in Jesus. It's top rate. If you love Camolot tales, and love Jesus, this book you'll always remember. I strongly recommend it for any reader.

You won't be able to resist laughing along with this audio tape, and that's a good thing. The laughter sounds real and is backed with positive affirmations. I especially like the innocence of the children's laughter. After I listen to this tape, I feel refreshed and ready to go. I highly recommend this audio tape.

This collection was the first of its kind when it came out in 1993. The three editors, all longtime advocates of queer scholarship, put together the Reader as an attempt to encourage new classes in queer studies. It was a resounding success, winning both a Lambda Literary award and notably being banned by Canadian customs.

The contributors to this volume are all well-respected names in their fields: John D'Emilio, Eve Sedgwick, Adrienne Rich, Judith Butler, Audre Lorde, and the editors themselves. There is impressive attention to including both people of color and strong lesbian voices, something many other similar collections have problems with.

The Reader is an excellent introduction to the field, although it is an academic text and can be a bit daunting for some. It works wonderfully for the purpose it was designed for, as a text for introductory classes. For those already immersed in the field, you obviously already own the book.

For an excellent compilation of essays, papers, and writings on what we now call "Queer/Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, & Transgender Studies," this is your book. It has practically everything, including works by people of color. If you want to get academic and intellectual, here's where you might start. If you are already academic and intellectual, this book will be a welcome addition to your library. I read many of the pieces in this book for a class in college, and they were all highly thought-provoking and important. I consider this book to be one of the basic, necessary groundstones in my library of queer/lgbt studies books and readings. Thank god for Henry Abelove for putting this together!

I first picked up a review copy of the original MtoF cookbook when I worked in a bookstore and found it one of the most well-written, creative, practical, consistently good cookbooks I have ever used. I bought the Pasta book for my husband when he was learning to cook -- We both love it!!! Michelle Urvater provides a wide variety of recipes and always has suggestions for playing with ingredients and what to do with leftovers.

My wife and I absolutely love this cookbook. If you are looking for a quality cookbook with simple yet substantial dinners taking less than a half-hour to complete, then this is the book for you. Save your money going out to dinner and prepare a meal from this book that will accomplish the same goal.

I lost my copy of this book and have lamented the fact since. Best book about the gladiator era I have ever read. Very descriptive, interesting account of a slave boy raised expressly for the arena. Highly recommended.

Written like an autobiography, this book pulls you in from the very beginning and keeps you interested until the very end. A slave baby, born beneath the great Arena in Ceasar Augusta's Rome, the story's hero grows into the most feared gladiator of his time. Good action writing style from Barry Sadler, author of The Green Berets and Casca books. This book makes you wish we had gladiatorial combat in the 90's rather than that wimpy sport of boxing

This was one of the very few books that covered to any degree the rare species of bird that I recently purchased.

I have also seen this title in a highly respected local bird farm library.

Highly recommended for not extensive information on each breed, but short summaries on about every breed of Australian parakeet you need to know about.

Dr. Vriends is one of the formost authorities on birds, and this book is an excellent example of his knowledge in unusual species. It covers all Australian parakeets that are usually kept, and is currently the most comprehensive guide to these interesting beauties. Highly recommend this book for all who own or are considering owning Australian broad and long tailed parakeets.

As a O.E.S.owner and breeder I found this to be a MUST for any new O.E.S. owner. After reading the book cover to cover I believe it has the most accurate information and advise of any Dog book that I have ever read on O.E.S. My compliants to anyone to had anything to do with the information included in this book. Even a layman can tell that the photos were of well breed and well cared for animals.

According to the cover, this book was written as a "Pet Owner's Guide" and truly lives up to it's name! It is an excellent tool for anyone who is interested in purchasing an Old English Sheepdog puppy as a companion or family pet. There is also a section that informs the reader how to find an adult dog and explains about breed rescue programs.

The author completely covers all aspects of Old English Sheepdog ownership, beginning with how to find the 'right' puppy or adult. It is written in a clear, easy to understand style while realistically informing the prospective owner of the "cons" as well as the "pros" of living with an Old English Sheepdog. The book contains many color photographs some of which illustrate the versatility of the breed.

As an owner, breeder and exhibitor of Old English Sheepdogs for 27 years, I feel this book is a "MUST READ" for anyone considering this breed as a pet.
