A Simple, Practical & Joyful Guide for ANY Family!
What a delight for those interested in learning more about the Biblical sabbath and how joyful it is to truly find your "rest" in the Messiah! This booklet is a practical guide that will "walk" any believer (Jew or Gentile) through one of the primary Feasts of the Bible (see Leviticus 23:1-3). Blessings in English and Hebrew, songs, recipes, challah cover designs, are just a few of the helpful instructions -- all written in a simple, humble manner. Enjoy! And Shabbat Shalom!

very useful
When I started my postdoctoral work at Stanford University I wanted and needed to learn more about cell cycle. This book helped me to understand the regulation of the different cell cycle phases. The chapters on mitosis, retinoblastoma and E2F are very clear and complete!

Great book for all -- explains and allows self-expression!
This is a great "interactive" book. One that can help adults and kids talk about the pains of parents dating and getting married and having two families, what it all means - and what it does not mean. My 8 y.o. step son (whose parents seperated when he was one) has liked to go through this and draw and explain his drawings to us! Good for all ages!

Changing Literacies (Changing Education Series)
Published in Paperback by Open Univ Pr (1997)
Authors: Colin Lankshear, James Paul Gee, Michele Knobel, and Chris Searle
Amazon base price: $28.95
Average review score:

Masterful and thoughtful book on post-critical perspectives.
Changing Literacies is composed of three parts: (1) critical literacy and cultural perspectives; (2) literacy and social justice; and (3) literacy, new technologies and old patterns. Within these three parts, the book explores inter and trans-penetrations of the pedagogical and the popular. Locating "critical" as "an essentially contested concept" (p. 42), Colin Lankshear presents an impressive work on post-critical perspectives. Post-critical because the book moves beyond an analysis of the ways in which human possibility has been impeded by educational theory and practice. The book provides a deep analysis about the ways in which capitalism swallows any attempt of democracy and social emancipation and how this process is connected to the new "work" order. At the same time, the book offers new horizons of critical perspectives in which language, technologies, and re-conceptualizations of social constructions move us beyond the realm of realities. Colin Lankshear and co-authors James Paul Gee and Michele Knobel deserve, without hesitation, outstanding recognition for this book.

the most adorable story by the most adorable girl
Cho Noi is the best take on Cinderella that I've read in a while. It gives an insight into Chinese culture while not making it seem intangible or ancient. Michele's youthful writing appeals to children and parents alike. I loved the book!

The best book on living with your dog, ever!!
I sat in the bookstore for hours, poring over books on dog training, puppy training and gun dog training. I just happened to see this little book tucked among the larger ones. I thought it had an interesting title and paged through it. Great! I figured, since it cost less than $10, I would buy it and see what it said.

WOW! I have read tens of books on dog training, and this book contained the most useful information. Every other book tells about obedience training, blah, blah, blah. This book tells how to LIVE WITH YOUR DOG. Do not pass this up.

A Community of Angels
What a thoughtful book. Great photographs, writing, and design. I was very moved by the way the book portrayed the thoughts and experiences of the artists who worked on the project. The world needs more events like this, projects that bring out the best in us all. Hats off to Los Angeles, the developers of the project, the artists, the authors, and to the angels

The Complete Book of Menopause : Every Woman's Guide to Good
This book was given to me by my son's mother-in-law who is a retired nurse. It was written by women for all women. It is written with a great deal of sensitivity. The medical information in this book has been extremely useful to me, and it's not the typical one-size-fits all information that I have read or heard before. I recommend it highly and thank the authors for their conscientious effort (and my consuegra for giving it to me).

Information technology in a global society
As a teacher of a course entitled "Information technology in a global society" i have found this book an excellent resource for both myself and my students alike. It's simple enough for an entry level reader (I have had kids as young as 11 discussing the ethical considerations presented in the book). While on the other hand it contains enough specifics and case studies to make it a suitable source for high school students preparing papers on a variety of topical issues.

What I love is that you can pick up the book and find the relavant information your looking for without having to read the whole book.
