Brings Puritan Massachusetts to life.
Sarah is a twelve-year-old Puritan girl living in Massachusetts in 1651. She is dreadfully unhappy because she fears her widowed father plans to marry a strict woman who dislikes Sarah and considers her to be poorly behaved. Playing on Sundays is strictly forbidden by the Puritan church. But one Sunday after a snow storm, Sarah and her best friend, Elizabeth (whose parents are considered to be somewhat freethinking for Puritans) can't help themselves, and they start to play in the snow, when they notice someone watching them and flee. Later, Mistress Goddard (Sarah's potential future stepmother) comes forward and announces that she saw Elizabeth and her brother Roger (she thought Sarah was Roger because she had borrowed his coat) broke the rules of the Sabbath. Now Roger will be punished when Sarah is the one who broke the rules. Can Sarah find the courage to come forward with the truth? I highly reccomend this excellant, detailed historical novel.

All Time Favorite
This book about a girl 12 years old in a puritan community and how she lives with her dad and her best friend Elizabeth. I loved this book.

A Very Good book!
This is an excellent book! As soon as I picked it up I couldn't put it down. It was very exciting to read. I reccomend this book to anyone who likes exciting books.

ANOTHER KATHLEEN EAGLE MASTERPIECE!
This book is an emotion-filled treasure! I am a HUGE Kathleen Eagle fan. I find she has the greatest romances EVER with strong... meaning loyal characters. The struggles are many, but you never doubt the love the characters feel for one another! Cleve and Susan were unforgettable! Another must-read. Write faster, Kathleen Eagle!

Not your average cookie-cutter romance!
I found "This Time Forever" to be a very satisfying and refreshing romantic read. The characters of Susan and Cleve are three-dimensional - very real, very human, and, in ordinary circumstances, perhaps even unremarkable. It's the extraordinary circumstance which bring these two together -- Susan, a white woman, serving on a jury that convicts Cleve Black Horse, a half-breed Indian and former rodeo champion, of murder -- which sets the stage for a remarkable and touching story that will stay with you long after you've read it.

Susan tries to cope with the knowledge that she may have helped send an innocent man to prison; Cleve, wrongly accused, has to pick up the pieces of his shattered life and learn to forgive and trust.

Another extraordinary circumstance brings Susan and Cleve together again, and the seed of bitterness slowly and sweetly blossoms into friendship and then love in a most natural way. A beautifully touching and unforgettable story.

A must read!
This book is one of the best books I have read in a long time. I have encouraged everyone I know to read it. The characters are well thought out and pulled me into the story right away. The story also makes you think about times past and "what if's" of history. If you enjoy being entertained, while learning, this is a definite must read!

Till the Stars Fall

One of my favorites
This is the first book I read by Kathleen Gilles Seidel and I loved it so much that I have started buying every book she's ever written. This story is not only a wonderful romance about second chances but also an absorbing look at life in/with a rock band. Seidel's universe for her characters is so complete that she quotes newspaper articles about then and songs that they wrote. If you like intelligent romance novels and three-dimensional characters, you'll love Kathleen Seidel!

Real romance, Real plot: The Thinking Woman's Romance
I started reading KGS after purchasing Summer's End from Amazon. I have since purchased every book by her I could find, as she combines powerful and well-developed characters with a sensitive and touching story. Unlike many romance novelists, there is much more time spent on a realistic plot and plausible circumstances than hot and heavy bedroom scenes.

The author uses fictional journalism pieces interspersed throughout the story that add to the authenticity of the story. If you love romance but like a great story even better, then this is an excellent read.

Have all the stars fallen?
I never get tired of reading and re-reading Till The Stars Fall by Kathleen Gilles Seidel. I know I have read this book at least seven times and one question keeps coming to my mind. WHAT HAPPENED TO JERRY???? He was such a great charater in the story, and he just fell out of the story line. I know he had to for Krissa and Quinn to be reunited but couldn't Ms. Seidel write a sequal and focas on what became of Jerry? I know she would do an excellent job as she has with all her novels.

My "other" Joy of Cooking
I am the kind of cook who routinely misreads tbl. for tsp., wonders how long "browning" should take (and keeps poking to see what the underside looks like), and tries to substitute ingredients--all with disasterous results. The Basic Gourmet has been a lifesaver for me in this regard: it tells me exactly what I need to know when I need to know it, and it doesn't leave me guessing or, god forbid, interpreting.

The book's first section lists and discusses equipment in detail, setting a teacherly--not bossy or condescending--tone that continues throughout its many delicious recipes, each of which is followed by tidbits such as when you might want to substitute one herb for another, what might make a good accompaniment, etc. The book is detailed and packed full of tips and suggestions, but it doesn't bury the information so that a beginning cook can't see the forrest for the trees. From scrambled eggs and omlet flipping techniques to stuffed pork chops, this cookbook covers all the basics while managing to treat its readers like the potential gourmands they are: even the scrambled egg recipe makes me feel like I'm sitting down to really appreciate a meal rather than taking baby steps or just "making do" for dinner that night. The authors anticipate common mistakes and questions, explain their terminology, give a range of preferred options for altering a recipe, and, best of all, have included all the information you need for each recipe with the recipe itself--not in an index or introductory section somewhere else in the book.

I love my Joy of Cooking, and I refer to it and the Silver Palate often, but this is the cookbook that I learned from and to which I regularly return. This is a great cookbook for beginners, well-conceived and well-executed, and very well designed.

An excellent starter cookbook for anyone.
This is great cookbook for dedicated beginners who want to learn to really cook not just get by. The recipes are varied and once you master them are easily adapted and changed around to suite your sense of adventure. The zucchini bread and chocolate gingerbread are always a hit and the tabbouleh page is the dirtiest page in the book...always a sign of a good cookbook...pages that stick together!

Great, classic, simple recipies
As a cook who has over 15 cookbooks this is the one I reach for most often. The recipes are simple but exceptionally tasteful. An experienced cook will find a multitude of useful variations and substitutions listed for each recipe, as well as forgotten techniques. For once there is a whole cookbook full of items you can find in a regular supermarket.

A gem
As an elementary school teacher I'm always looking for books that are eloquently written and visually stunning. I'm happy to report that Dear Juno serves up both. This is an incredible book by an extraordinary author. It's the perfect book to read-aloud as well as to curl up with before going to bed. I can't wait to read more of Ms. Pak's work.

Wonderful!
In this lovely book, a story about communication across geographic, cultural and generational distances is distilled into a few sparkling pages. The simple, charming language is inviting for children, but it carries the force of poetry, so adults will enjoy it too. I adored it.

Earthy story of separation, communication and love.
Drawings of my budding 4-year-old artist took on different dimensions after this book. Juno's separation from his Korean Grandmother required communication with his pictures and leaves. It translated into pebbles and bicycles for my daughter. The touching part is that love can travel within the confines of an envelope. ILLUSTRATONS were the ICING on the cake! Job well done. I buy the book as gifts.

A girl escape the war torn south only to find more disaster.
When Emma, her older brother, and her younger sister left their home behind to seek refuge with their relatives in St. Louis, they thought they had left the worst of the destruction wrought by the Civil War behind. And they have. However, on board the Sultana, a paddle wheel boat headed up the Mississippi River, they find a new terror when the boat explodes and catches fire. Separated from their brother, Emma and her little sister must stay alive and find a way off the burning boat. An action-packed survival story filled with historical details.

From a Southern girl's perspective.
Good characters. Good background plot. Good not over descriptive, but historically correct action. Good subject. Good book... what more can I say?

Awesome book!
What if a war tore your family apart and changed your life forever? What if your mother was dead and you didn't know whether your father was dead or alive? What if you had to journey far from your home, and during that journey were surrounded by the enemy? What if your older brother was always getting into fights with the enemy soldiers and you, just twelve years old, had to rely on yourself and take care of your little sister on your own? What if the riverboat you were travelling on suddenly blew up and you had to fight to keep yourself and your little sister alive? What if you suddenly had to take help from your enemies if you wanted to live to see the next day? In Emma Eileen Grove, Kathleen Duey gives a powerful answer to these questions. Read this book or your missing out on something great!

A blessing of a book!
Reading this book was like talking to an old friend. Everything is so accessible and full of love and light. I loved it! What I love about the book is that it is not preachy. Kathleen gives you her experiences and the tools she feels work best and then leaves the road wide open for you to explore. That is what true spirituality is all about. The wonderful added humor is extra icing on the cake. A must read not just for those interested in the psychic realm but for anyone who has lost a loved one.

A touching as well as explosive book.
Kathleen's book touched my life during a time when I most needed validation of the spiritual experiences I was having as well as other obstacles I was facing in every day life. She has helped open a new world for me while calming my fears and doubts. Her gentle, assuring manner has convinced me to be more open to what the spirit world shows us and made me understand that we are always in control and not alone. I learned that trusting your instincts holds true, enabling your successes to be more meaningful and accurate. I've read Life After Life, One Last Time, Hello From Heaven, etc....those being awesome and extremely helpful for me, but Kathleen brings a unique flavor to add to the book shelf. People would enjoy reading this book and will then sample the essence this book gives through her personal style and openness. I would recommend Vibrating To Spirit to anybody looking for answers in the spirit realm and wondering if this is a part of God's great love and purpose.

What a great book...
I've read books by James Van Praagh and John Edward and found Vibrating to Spirit to be very similar. The authors tell stories of their experiences to convey how Spirit communicates. I don't like to read much, therefore it takes me months sometimes to finish a book. However, I found Kathleen Tucci's book to be such an entertaining and easy read I finished the book in just a few days! You can feel Kathleen's caring heart in her writing and how rewarding it is for her to make a difference in people's lives. I learned all of us have the ability, also how to tap into it and that the smallest details can make a world of difference in a reading where you connect with a loved one. I recommend Vibrating to Spirit to anyone.

The Search for Enlightenment
This is a story of spiritual enlightenment and the search for meaning in life. Beginning with a message to "find the Holy Grail" the main character is followed through a sequence of personal meetings and events which confirm and direct her search. In this fictionalized journey, the Holy Grail it seems is about the process of achieving higher levels of spiritual awakening and universal connection. This lovely and well-written book is about bringing all the pieces of life's puzzle together. From cleansing and healing our physical bodies, to resolving emotional and relationship issues, to understanding our inner selves and our place along the universal hologram -- this story speaks to the soul of each reader in a unique and powerful way. Throughout the text, readers find reference to many of today's popular catch-phrases such as synchronicity, attunement, energy fields, labyrinths and sacred geometry. Pieces of the puzzle which come to each of us in our own time and place, according to our own readiness. Perhaps of greatest importance is the concept of integrating all these methods and approaches, honoring all beliefs and perspectives. Too many human wars have been fought over religious and conceptual differences. The Vision of the Grail clearly demonstrates the common threads among us and challenges us to grow beyond the old habits and beliefs which hinder us from achieving a true oneness of Spirit.

Vision of the Grail, an Experiential Quest for the Truth
I read, no, devoured Vision of the Grail while stranded at an airport. I simply could not put the book down. It reads as a suspense novel with twists and turns, only instead of whodunit, one wonders where the next piece of the puzzle is coming from. This story is about following intuition, the synchronicity that results and the journey of awakening when we do. It is not a book about sitting in a cave and meditating. It is an experiential quest for the holy grail that awaits each one of us. This exciting story introduces many interesting characters who each contribute threads of wisdom and light woven together to make one beautiful tapestry. The insights alone make this book worth reading. The unfolding of events uplifts and inspires one to listen for and act when Spirit calls.

I was Impressed!
As a journalist and author, I've naturally read a lot of books over the course of my career. Some were read for professional research or review purposes, many were read as part of my own personal quest for spiritual enlightenment and truth. Some of them left their imprint on my memory; many more simply faded from mind the moment I was through. Only rarely have I chanced upon a book that made such a profound impression that I would recommend it to every friend who shares my interest in metaphysics. One such book is Vision of the Grail, by Kathleen Jacoby.

The Dyslexic
This book was great for some new ideals but I needed more information for 504 - dyslexia. This is a great tool for parents beginning to deal with school systems for Special Education. You will need this book. Thanks

Couldn't Be More Pleased!
A few days ago I had my gut instict confirmed, my son has a reading disorder. I found this book and even though I have already started the process to get him "services" from our public school prior to obtaining this book I still had to buy it because just flipping through it I ran into several "aahh's" or "red flags" as Ms. Nosk refers to them. I knew it would answer all my new questions (in layman terms) regarding my son and his education. And let me tell you, I have almost finished it (I have had it less than 24 hours) and I could not be more pleased! I highly recommend this book for a parent of an elementary school child who is looking for confirmation of their gut instinct in regards to their childs reading.

The Dyslexic Scholar: Step By Step Directions in this Book
I wrote this review in Learning A Living, A Guide to Planning Your Career and Finding A Job for People with Learning Disabilities, Attention Deficit Disorder, and Dyslexia:

Written mostly for parents, but has a few sections written specifically for the person who has dyslexia. The strength of this book is the clear step-by-step directions for activities such as obtaining and receiving an educational evaluation, advocating in the schools, applying for college, and obtaining accommodations for learning disabilities.
