An fascinating biog of the portly Spaniard
Written with charm and humility (albeit ghosted in both cases) this biography gives a warts-and-all insight into the life of my wife's favourite swarthy heart-throb.

The best biography I've ever read!!!....
Antonio Banderas is my favorite actor, and this autobiography has everything, I'd give this more stars if I could. I remember reading it at a very hard time in my life, and Antonio was (still is) a big comfort to me. It talks about a man from when he saw his first play of "Hair" that made him want to be an actor, and how his family didn't approve, and the pain and rejection he went through. A man of who's struggles from the theatre to being discovered by director Pedro Almodevor in the movies in Spain. How he had to learn English, for his first American role "Mambo Kings," to the rest of the movies he made, and his relationship with Melanie Griffith. You'll learn somethings you didn't before, like Madonna was a big help to him getting recognized, because she had a crush on him in "Truth or dare," his outspokeness-which by the way, this book does have language. But best of all, you get to know Antonio, a real nice, kind, passionate, compassionett, humble, hearted man.

NW Craftsperson
Wow, the illustrations are excellent! I like how the author tells a story while teaching the doll making craft. This style of book should work well with those kids who need hands-on experience to re-inforce learning.

Great for children who like crafts
Wonderfully illustratrated with scratchboard drawings. It has a warm family oriented story that will serve as a spark for discussions of your own family legends and crafts. Includes the patterns to make the doll in the fly of the book. This book is a great value.

I Highly Recommend This Book!
I'm a professional Astrologer and have been teaching classes since 1978. I frequently recommend this book to my more advanced students who really want to learn about the deeper archetypal patterns in psychological astrology. A GREAT book!

Excellent analysis of the Signs of the Zodiac
I was very impressed by the depth of information this book provided. At times I felt almost overwhelmed because I thought there couldn't possibly be anymore to the mythology of this sign, and sure enough, there was! An unqualified yes to get this book for anyone seriously interested in Astrology, Mythology, or even Wholistic Psychology.

The Art of Os/2 Warp Programming
Published in Paperback by John Wiley & Sons (1995)
Authors: Kathleen Panov, Arthur Panov, and Larry Salomon
Amazon base price: $44.95
Used price: $23.81
Average review score:

The best book of its kind
Of all the OS/2 programming books, this one is the best. It covers more topics, with more relevant details and sample source code, than any other book. Especially valueable are chapters like "Multithreading in PM Applications", which no other book covers. The majority of chapters covers topics specific to PM programming, but this book is still a must-have for any OS/2 developer.

Excellent for beginners
This book is excellent if you have no experience with writing to a windowing platform. It is good to have a grasp on C and basic coding experience. The book is well written and gives many examples along with warning tips, common pitfalls and known bugs. The chapters flow from one to another much like a school text book. I recommend this book highly if you want to learn OS2 programming in C.

IMPRESSIVE
One Saturday afternoon about five years ago in Washington, DC, I wandered into the gallery of Kathleen Ewing and spent hours looking at the pictures of the photographers she represents. Prominent among them was A. Aubrey Bodine and his magnificent images of the people of the Chesapeake Bay. I'd never heard of Bodine but was completely captured by his pictures of the water and the people who live and work on it. Many of his pictures intrigued me because they look so much like stage settings with actors posed for the pleasure of the camera. But Bodine was also a portrait photographer, and one of great skill. This book, with beautifully reproduced photographs, an appreciation & biography by Ewing and a remembrance by Harold A. Williams who worked with Bodine on the "Baltimore Sun," will surely bring a new and appreciative audience for Bodine. One cannot help but be impressed with the fog rolling in on a Baltimore dock over two sleeping dogs in 1947, naked boys diving into the Patapsco River in a 1933 photograph which pays obvious homage to Thomas Eakins, or with the 1955 portrait of H.L. Mencken, among many, many others. Highly Recommended.

Pictures Beyond Words
I first saw the A. Aubrey Bodine book at the headquarters of the National Press Photographers Association in Durham, NC. Ken Cooke, director of photography for the Fayetteville Observer, and I were visiting with Charlie Cooper, the NPPA director. We decided to visit Charlie on our way back from Washington where we were coordinating a photo exhibit on Desert Storm at the Smithsonian. During our talk, Charlie picked up on a comment I made about timing, feeling, and heart coinciding with release of the shutter--classic Cartier Bresson "decisive moment" I guess. Anyway, Charlie then took me into the NPPA library where he showed me a book of someone's work he knew defined our discussion. It was the book "A. Aubrey Bodine : Baltimore Pictorialist, 1906-1970."

As NPPA director, Charlie has known and worked with many great photographers and Bodine was one of them. Ken also became very excited having known Bodine from years of working in photojourn! alism and having a sincere appreciation for Bodine's work. I, as the younger man, had never heard of Bodine until that day, but I will always be grateful to Charlie Cooper for introducing me to this book. To me, Bodine defines seeing the day-to-day world with heart and moment as I believe very few photographers today achieve. He is not well known, but his work is something to cherish. I feel very fortunate to have a copy (Charlie was kind enough to send me one). It is a book that every student of photography and community photojournalism should see, feel, and own.

thoughtful and thought provoking...what more is there?
Fumbling into midlife I found myself in the Self Help section at the local book store. Awakening at Midlife spoke to me on the shelf and reassured me with each chapter read. If you are searching, stop and read Brehoney for a while. You won't be sorry.

A godsend!
For those enduring a midlife transition, _Awakening at Midlife_ is a godsend. Relying on her own experiences, both personal and professional, as well as the writings of Carl Jung and other gifted teachers and sages, Kathleen Brehony's focus is an overwhelmingly positive one, offering hope and practical guidance for what can be a confusing and tumultuous time of life. The message is that the midlife transition is not an affliction, but rather a profound opportunity for growth and positive personal transformation, and that the goal of this transition is not perfection, but rather completion.

She writes of the "tension of opposites", the agonizing feeling of being torn in two which is often at the root of midlife turmoil, and she understands that the urge to give in, or to choose one over the other, is what one struggles with during this difficult time of life. The solution to this struggle most often does not lie in making a choice, writes the author. Rather ! it is the holding of the tension of opposites which is the secret behind the alchemy of transformation through which we become more conscious, creative and whole human beings. The encouragement and wisdom found within the pages of _Awakening at Midlife_ helps to give the reader the strength to accomplish this, making Kathleen Brehony's book an invaluable aid for anyone facing the challenges of such an amazing midlife metamorphosis.

POWERFUL EMOTIONAL READ!
This author proves again she is more than a category romance author. One of her most powerful books yet, The Awakening of Dr. Brown has a riveting story with characters to cheer for and care about. Real emotional baggage and conflict bring this tale to life, without the rough language or gore of many single title bestsellers. This one's a keeper, to be read and cherished again and again. It's part of SIM's "Heartland" series. I've read every one and strongly recommend them, even if you have to order from the out-of-print files.

One of the best romance novels I've read-and I've read alot.
This book was a heart-warming touching experience. The book is a story about a girl who although she's "lived," in another words, been around the block a couple times, is still a virgin at heart. With compelling characters that seem to jump off the page in 3D, this book really comes to life. You'll spend half of it crying, and the other half cheering them on. The book is full of twists that make it impossible to put down, and it ends with a copy of the song sung throughout the book. Always remember, "Hello is easy, Goodbye is hard, and it's what comes in between that counts."

Backstage with a Ghost
Sean and Brian Quinn look for the causes and perpetrators of a series of accidents that have set preservationists against developers, who want to tear down Redoaks' old Culbertson Theater.

The CaseBusters in Action!
Part 3 of the Disney Adventure series "CaseBusters". for me the best of the series. The story is all about the two boys called Brian and Sean Which go in a series of unexplainable Horror cases. In This Episode a knocked down theather a crime happens so brian and sean go to investigation and this leads them to a terrifiying confrontation... with a ghost . Include this book with any Staff Manual
This book offers suggestions for almost any situation that may arise with a camper. It not only offers help with dealing with one, but how to prevent it in the first place. Another useful feature is the inclusion of a "psychological roadmap" of each age group, their needs, and how to help them get the most of the camp experience. It's a great supplement to any Staff Manual. Order a copy for each of your staff!

Great hands on book for front line staff
Camp is for the Camper is the perfect personal assistant for camp counselors who want to learn more about the youth who come to camps, who want to organize themselves to be an effective leader at summer camp and who want to solve typical camper issues. The book fits easily into a backpack and can go almost everywhere the counselor goes.

Being a camp counselor is a tremendous experience, yet it can be stressful if they are not well prepared to deal with the many and varied behaviors of campers. Camp is for the Camper gives counselors quick, easy options to address many regular situations.

Catalina Island Camps bought a copy for each counselor and I can see how they will refer to it many times to help get ideas about how to best meet the needs of individual campers and their whole cabin group.

Often it hardest for a counselor to come ask a supervisor for help because they don't want to look as if they can't do their job. Of course, we train counselors to ask for help, but many still don't ask and since we know they want to do well, they will probably turn to this book for ideas and solutions.

The book reiterates many of the things we talk about in staff orientation, but we always wonder if counselors really took it to heart. For many counselors, reading a similiar message written by ACA professionals will give them a second chance to understand many critical issues to the success of our camp.

Along with the Camp is for the Camper Online course, this is a powerful training tool for every camp counselor in every camp across the country.

If you are a counselor, you will find it very useful. If you are a director, buy it for your staff!
