You'll be dazed after you read this book. It's awsome!!!
This book is about a girl named Christine who finds a mysterious cave of wonderous objects. Her brother is extremly ill in this magical story. This story takes place in the dust-bowl times. What Christine finds in this significant cave is unbelieveible and amazing. This Book is the best I've ever read in my entire life. I reccomend this book to every body in the world!!! I absolutely LOVE this book!!! It's the bomb!!! -Jillian

A wonderful coming of age story from the dust bowl era
This is one of my daughter's and my favorite books. It tells the story of an adolescent girl coming of age during the dust bowl. While her family prepares to leave their homestead if rain doesn't come within the week, the girl and her brother discover and explore a cave which contains valuable geodes. They must decide whether to reveal the existence of the cave to their father, or to keep it secret in order to preserve it from the same destruction that the surrounding woods have met at the hands of desperate settlers. This book is an excellent read aloud book for advanced 6 year olds and up, or an excellent read for 9+ year olds. Be forewarned, though, that there are several pages that deal with the onset of menstration.

Wonderful!
This beautiful little book is an absolute delight, filled with hundreds of creative ideas to make the holidays extra-special. Dolley has created a perfect blend of Christmas quotes and anecdotes, recipes and tips for gift-giving and entertaining. Every suggestion seems to answer the question, "How can I be a blessing to someone in my life this Christmas?"

Dolley shows great sensitivity in providing suggestions that take into account the varying needs and resources of her readers. Whether you have a lot of time or a little time, a lot of skill or very little skill, a lot of money or no money at all, there are ideas in this book that you can use! Even the gift-giving ideas cover kids from "one to ninety-two." This book itself would make a wonderful gift for someone you love.

TINY BOOK PACKED WITH DELIGHT!
I thought this book was wonderful. Although I have read many holiday books and wasn't expecting anything new, I was pleased to find lots of surprises. The book has a Christian theme and would make a great gift for someone special, along with a hot beverage and a comfy chair.

Perfect Book for Little Ones!
My daughter loves this book! After reading it to her 10 times in one day, I had to hide it to give myself a break! It's her favorite book, and she has many. She is learning the names of different animals and this is a fun way to learn. Love the charming illustrations!

Delightful Book for Toddlers!!!!
This is a perfect book for children ages 18 mos. to 3 years. I bought 5 of these books to give as gifts for every little child I know. The sweet story of Cleopatria the Crocodile having a birthday party with all her animal friends is delightful. The sweet, simple story combined with the outstanding illustrations make this a perfect "first book" for little ones. It's hard bound with durable coated pages, making it a book that will last.

Compcontrol : The Secrets of Reducing Workers' Compensation Costs (2nd Edition)
Published in Paperback by PSI Research - Oasis Press (01 April, 2001)
Authors: Edward J. Priz and Kathleen Doyle
Amazon base price: $19.95
Average review score:

The Nuts & Bolts of Workers Comp
Most employer-oriented books that I've seen on workers comp are usually anti-employee screeds in disguise. Not with Mr. Priz's book. He gives a business owner the hard facts on how to REALLY control his/her comp costs. And that starts with knowing what all the various WC 'adjustments' in your policy are, and how to systematically bring them into line with what the business claims experience is. All in all, a great book by a respected, seasoned premium analyst in the workers' comp industry.

A great resource for anyone interested in Workers' Comp.
I found CompControl to be a really useful resource on Workers' Compensation insurance. It explains the fundamentals of how Workers' Comp. insurance is priced, and then goes on to explain how overcharges can occur, and what can be done to prevent or correct them. Best of all, it's not written in an overly-dry way, as many technically-oriented books can be. This is an insurance book for non-insurance professionals who want to get an insider's knowledge of Workers' Comp. I think it would be very useful for business owners and managers of companies of all sizes.

Exquisite prayers
This lovely volume contains prayers for the counselor, for the counselor and client, for the client and ends with a series of rituals for healing. The prayers are beautifully and simply written, covering a wide range of issues and topics, including illness, unemployment, death, aging and abuse. This would make a wonderful gift or resource for any clergyperson, pastoral counselor or lay minister.

A wonderful book of prayer.
This is a wonderful prayerbook. As a therapist, I keep it by my chair. I often review a particular prayer right before a client arrives so that I can feel centered and open to the next person who enters my room. The prayers are written clearly and beautifully. My clients who are spiritually inclined have enjoyed hearing some of the prayers that reflect their own issues and situations, such as being angry with God, or having been sexually molested. I highly recommend this book for therapists and psychotherapy clients alike.

THANKS FOR THE "A" MYRNA!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Before I bought "Exploring Medical Language" I knew absolutely nothing, and I mean nothing about Medical Terminology.
And to tell you the truth, when I first opened this huge, intimidating, monster of a book, It scared... me... I mean, wouldn't "rhabdomyosarcoma" or "esophagogastroduodenoscopy"
frighten you (just a bit) I thought, nooooo way.

But I opened it, read it, did the cool excersises, listen the the audio tapes, played a bit with the CD-R.

She begins at the beginning.....Little baby steps.

All of a sudden... I was like, I get it! I really get it!
Not only that, but I was beginning to enjoy it.

The prefix, suffix, and word roots suddenely become beautiful, flowing words that make sense.
Myrna LaFleur Brooks made this book come alive, interesting, and allowed medical language to become a little bit like music.
Well, a little!!!! Thanx for the "A" Myrna!

This text is invaluable
I'm currently using this book as a supplemental text for my paramedic training. We've just finished cardiology, and I couldn't have done it without this text. I already owned Phalen, Dubin, and Huff; all are good, but the Huszar text is now the one I go to first when I have a question about ECG's. There are a multitude of practical illustrations, tables, and review questions. Best of all is the 200-and-some strips for practice in the appendix. Highly recommend!!

The Dark Side of Hopkinsville
Truly one of the most fascinating books of the decade. It is the African American version of The Little Rascals. It is an amazing tale of friendship, and a community that truly lives the African proverb, "It takes a whole village to raise a child." This books gives meaning the prejudices even within the same race and social class in a fun loving, yet serious way. The Dark Side of Hopkinsville should be read by children of all ages. The adventures of several friends during the turn of the century will affix your mind to yester year. It will bring back memories of your childhood and the wonderful experiences you shared with your closets classmates and friends. You will remember the times you "cut out", of school to go fishing or perhaps wish you would have. There are stories that you haven't told for perhaps decades. Reading this book will recall familiar stories from days gone by, it will make you smile, laugh, cry and at times wonder why. But, through it all you will realize that you made it over and suddenly you are here and you are still here. As I read the story it helped me realize that although things change they somehow stay the same. There is really nothing new under the sun. There is a Rat Joiner who still whipps the Kaiser. Some people are meant to stay alive even after they are gone so generations after generations can meet them, they are meant to be known for ever, such is the case with the characters in this book.

A book that should be required reading in every school sys.
As a child my grand-daddy "Rat Joiner" often called Ted Poston's name and I never paid close attention that he was a real person and best friend to my grand-daddy. After growing up leaving home, my mother Anna Joiner Harvey "Rat Joiner's" daughter, informed me that a lady by the name of Kathleen Hauke came to Hopkinsville interviewed many residents and initiated a book signing of "The Dark Side Of Hopkinsville". As I eagerly read the book in one sitting I happily recalled some of the stories grand-daddy told of Ted Poston over the years. The annedotes are heart warming and so real to almost anyone who lived in a southern or rural setting. The experiences and relationships forged in the book among the various characters can be applicable to most of our lives. The challenges that were over come by the characters as children encourage us all that life is one test after the next. With deep rooted faith, family and friends we can overcome any obstacles in life. This is evident in that Ted Poston and Theodore Roosevelt "Rat" Joiner, came from such humble beginnings and made outstanding contributions in life. Ted became a noted author and reporter and "Rat Joiner" left a long line of descendents (over 350 grand and great-grand children alone).
