Icing on the Cake
This little book is the icing on the cake for anyone doing a dollhouse or just wanting minis to display with a doll collection. So many nifty tips and tricks to create very real looking items from household junk and odds'n'ends, and do a little recycling at the same time. The crafting tips are all neatly catagorized ,so finding specific things is easy. Most of the tips are very cost effective ,and are a treasure trove for anyone with a mini mansion to furnish and a tight budget. It is worth every bit of its' cost; as someone who has been crafting with junk since childhood, I highly recommend it.

To Florida Reader

Dr. Benjamin has compiled the book every teacher of introductory psychology needs. Full of activities designed to spark interest and understanding of basic psychological concepts. you'll read it again and again
Set in the interesting world of daytime soaps, this book feels real, the characters, the situations, the depth of feeling. Jenny Cotton is the author/producer of My Lady's Chamber who loves her job so much she can't bear to see it as 'work' and strives to recreate a family within her work environment (a common theme explored by KGS)

When a new actor arrives on set, the experienced but wary Alec Cameron, he challenges and changes the dynamics and things start to shift.

The clever weaving of a regency romance (the setting of the soap opera) and modern day television, the exotic world of TV and the reality of people's complex feelings, makes for a lovely novel. KGS writes beautifully as always, and I don't know why she is so underrated but if you can pick this book up, do, it is well worth it and a definite keeper.

Great characters
This is a wonderful story, with marvelous characters and a very unique "story within a story". "My Lady's Chamber", the Regency soap opera that is at the center of the story, would be a smash if it were real. As always, I fell completely in love with KGS's protagonists. Highly recommended

A story about a girl living on a dairy farm in 1933.
When Agnes May Gleason's father is injured working on the family dairy farm, her mother must take him to the hospital, leaving Agnes charge. Things were already difficult because of the Depression, and now Agnes's parents tells them to dump the day's milk. They can't afford to do that with these hard times, and Agnes decides to disobey her parents and make the deliveries with the help of her little brother and sister. This was an inspiring story about a girl during a difficult time in this country's history and how she overcomes difficulties to help her family.

A great new book in the American Diaries series.
Agnes May Gleason is almost thirteen, and she's living on her family's dairy farm near Walsenburg, Colorado, in 1933. Life has been hard for her family since the Depression started, and now Aggie's father has injured himself. When he must go to the hospital, Aggie is left alone to run the dairy with only her ten year old sister, Mary, and seven year old brother, Charles. If only her older brother Ralph hadn't left home! But it's up to Agnes now to make decisions, and pray that everything goes right. I highly reccomend this book.

May I give 6 stars?
My teacher at my tutoring school has this book. He said the Allyn & Bacon is his second brain where he stores his important Grammer and Usage techniques. I was interested with what he said; so I bought one myself from Amazon. This was the only reason I bought this book.

However, after I had received this book, I found this to be quite useful for the SAT II writing test. It would be a great reference guide whenever I need help with word usages, paragraph formats, punctuations, critcal thinking techniques, etc.

This book is wonderful. If I can give more than 5 stars, I would.

You can never go wrong
The Allyn&Bacon Handbook is the most invaluable reference book I have ever come across. Originally purchased for guidance on formal composition, the book has helped me with everything from letter writing to revision. It contains valuable information on just about every writing topic. This book is an excellent companion for anyone taking an English course.

Great overview of our National Scenic Trails!!
This is the best resource available for an overview of America's eight National Scenic Trails. It is a MUST for anyone with an interest in our National Trails System.

A good choice for arm-chair travelers and wanderers alike
This is one of those rare travel books that will inform and entertain the armchair traveler while at the same time provide invaluable information to the trekker setting out to explore one of the Congressionally sponsored National Scenic Trails. Congress established the National Trails System Act in 1968 for the purpose of creating a trail system that would provide long-distance paths through some of the most scenic country in America and preserve trails that contributed to our history. Since 1968 the trail system has designated twelve national historic trails, some eight hundred national recreation trails and eight national scenic trails. This book focuses on the eight National Scenic Trails in the system and is a great guide to the almost 16,000 miles they encompass through 30 states. The trails range in length from 694 miles (the Natchez Trace National Scenic Trail) to the 4,300 mile North Country National Scenic Trail. The trails, due to the diversity of their locations, can be traveled in all four seasons and contain some, if not all, of the best scenery and animal life, not to mention historical significance, that the United States has to offer. The National Scenic Trails are Appalachian, Continental Divide, Florida, Ice Age, Natchez Trace, North Country, Pacific Crest, and Potomac. The book is a combination travel guide and history lesson that is written in a highly readable, fact-filled manner. For each of the eight trails there is a history of the trail, a description of the trail today, a list of points of interest, detailed maps, state-by-state tourist information, a listing of the total mileage of the trail, and the states it traverses. For those of us that probably will not attempt to walk the Appalachian Trail "straight through"(it's 2,144 miles long!) the author thoughtfully gives suggestions on where one can enter the trail at numerous locations and walk for a few hours with time for a picnic lunch. This is a splendid general reference book for the National Scenic Trails. For the reader desiring more specific information on any of the trails the author has included a complete, up-to-date listing of all state and public land agencies, an exhaustive bibliography, an index, and 87 color illustrations and detailed, yet readable, maps. June 2nd is National Trails Day and what better way to learn about those national treasures that getting a copy of this book. This is a perfect example of the quality publications one can expect from the University of Oklahoma Press. Armchair travelers and wanderers of all types will be delighted.

American Creed: Philanthropy and the Rise of Civil Society

Significant New Study on Philanthropy
This book fills a significant gap in the historical record on philanthropy and the rise of civil society in the United States. Kathleen McCarthy's writing meets the highest standards of scholarship, in a very readable and enjoyable style that will appeal to a broad audience. It should be on the "must-read" list for all nonprofit researchers, practitioners, and students of philanthropy!

Building Democracy
This is an important book. It offers a novel and compelling explanation of America's early democratic development that suggests a much greater role for the non-governmental sector than previous studies have suggested.

The author throws light on some neglected corners of American development, such as the role of non-governmental organizations run by blacks and women. After reading this book, no one will look on non-governmental efforts in quite the same way. Their energy and vision were essential not only in making America a more decent country but also, surprisingly, a much more prosperous one.

Italian made delicious and easy
As a restauranteur for over 10 years I have read and cooked with hundreds of books. Ms. Kleinman's recipes are simple and delicious. My favorites include the Pizza Salsicce, Pasta Muro Leccese as well as the Polenta and all the basics. Her uncooked Tomato Sauce has become a staple in my home. This is a great book for the Home Chef.

fantastically simple recipes for Italian trattoria cuisine
The restaurant cookbook of Angeli Caffe in Los Angeles conveys the passion and simplicity of its Italian trattoria cuisine with recipes for the important triad of pizza, pasta, and panini as well as complimentary elements of calzone, sfincione, panzerotti, focaccia, cicchetti, bruschetta, and tramezzini. One basic recipe for pizza dough suffices for use in the pizza recipes and emphasizes this simplicity. Recipes are introduced with a short description providing background, significance, and/or tidbits of culinary knowledge. Nothing short of a visit to the restaurant should satisfy you after reading this cookbook!
