Brilliant!
A fantastic children's book of a little girl telling about her winter coat which is not just any winter coat, & the six magical buttons which she gives along the way to her newfound friends.

Great way to learn to count & read, to see how good deeds are done & their results. I recommend "The Magical, Mystical, Marvelous Coat" to anyone with small children around - they'll love it!

Best book of the year!
This exciting, enchanting story will delight you and your children just as it delighted me and mine! It's a warm tale about a child's magical coat and the people in need whose problems are solved by the coat's wonder-working buttons. In these difficult days, the story's theme of giving to others and the way such generosity comes back to the giver, is especially welcome. We loved the rhymes and the beautiful pictures, and we can't wait for more books from this wonderful author.

Faboo!
I loved this book - a delicious combination of imaginative story-telling and pictorial enchantment. The narrative has rhythm, rhyme and pace. Simple as well as subtle; traditional with a twist. It makes for captivating reading aloud, and children can understand and pick up the themes and rhythm with ease. The lush and delicate imagery is a perfect compliment to the magical world of a child's imagination wherein we encounter a variety of storyland characters. Careful attention to her friends' needs and a generosity of spirit are justly rewarded at tale's end.
Light and as welcome as a breeze on a summer's day.

Prairie Rose (Thorndike Large Print Christian Romance Series)

A Wonderful Christian Romance
I love romance stories but as a Christian always felt guilty when reading the "dirty" ones. When I purchased this book I did not even realize it was a Christian romance and had never read a Christian romance novel. I just thought it was a western/romance type of book. When I started reading and realized it was a Christian romance, to tell you the truth, I thought it would be boring as I was used to the steamy scenes in mainstream romance. Boy was I wrong! I laughed and cried with Rosie as I finished this book in only one day and immediatley ordered the other books in the series and not one has been a disappointment. I will never go back to mainstream romance books with their filthy scenes. I now can read about people falling in love in a Godly way. God Bless everyone who reads this.

Rosie is a character to fall in love with
Sometimes with series books, the characters are so perfect and predictable, I really don't care enough about them to read any of their further adventures. Not so with Rosie and the other residents of A Town Called Hope. I gobbled this story up as fast as I could and then waited anxiously for the sequels to arrive at my library. As soon as the Prairie Trilogy was in print--with Prairie Fire and Prairie Storm--I bought it for my friend for Christmas. She fell in love immediately with Catherine Palmer's characters, just like I did. Now she has bought Prairie Christmas and is a huge Catherine Palmer fan.

Catherine Palmer has created a cast of characters that will live on in the reader's mind long after the pleasure of reading Prairie Rose and its successors are over.

Great Christian romance
Rosenbloom Cotton Mills is ana unusual name for an unusual girl. Brought up in an orphange, Rosie is no stranger to hardship. But when she impulsively leaves the orphange for the Kansas praire, she takes on more hardship than she originally anticipated, including a dour widower, his young son who has never gotten to know his father, and a homestead desperately in need of a woman's touch. Rosie faces each challenge with a smile and with the knowledge that God is her father and his love in her heart. The humor in this book is expertly balanced with the hard praire life that Rosie comes to love. In the midst of her hardships, Rosie comes to understand the true meaning of not only God's love for her, but her love for Seth. Palmer is a great Christian romance writer in the tradition of Oke and Glover, and I recommend her highly.

Excellent Book!
What a beautiful tribute to the Angels in our lives! Mrs Anderson has done a marvelous job of compiling wonderful, yet believable stories about visitations by Heavenly Beings.

Heavenly!
Where Angels Walk is an unforgettable book of God's love, help and intervention in our lives through the love of His Angels. All the stories are true and unbelievably remarkable. God has told us, "Ask and ye shall receive", and that includes the asking for help for our loved ones and for ourselves.

This is a book that will renew your faith and reaffirm God's love for us. It is at the darkest times of our lives, when we feel alone and abandoned, that we are loved the most. Help is there and we just have to ask for it. As Joan Anderson says, "...that, whatever their failings, God is holding them gently in the palm of His hand."

Reading the numerous stories, you will discover that angels can take many forms and not just the heavenly beings we were taught about as children.

Read this book to renew your spirit, increase your faith and to uplift your life. You will NOT be disappointed. This book is a gem. And remember that you are loved and that miracles do indeed happen!

perfect sense
It just makes perfect sense to me when I read the angel stories in this book. How powerful, yet so gentle these angels are. It was so inspiring to read each story. Thanks to Joan Wester Anderson for sharing her gift of writing and speaking.

Inspiring, Uplifting, and Heavenly!!
Where Miracles Happen is a wonderful book, which will warm your heart, bring tears to your eyes and leave you with such a warm feeling all over! Ms. Anderson has managed once again, to capture the essence of the miraculous in everyday life. With over 50 different accounts of true encounters with heavenly beings, one knows that God loves us, we are watched over, protected, and guided constantly throughout our lives. Sometimes, as shown by several of the stories, our deceased loved ones are with us and also watching over us.

Help is always available, one just has to ask for it, as the story illustrated of the mother who did not have enough money to feed her children and food miraculously appeared, or the child caught in the snowstorm and could not find her way home, yet was guided by a supposed neighbor, who was later found out to be sick that entire week, or the gentleman who was protected driving when his mother invoked safety prayers from him and avoided a collision where a dozen cars lost control, yet no one was injured.

There are also stories of healings and of our loved ones sending signs and messages to reassure us that they are indeed in a place of love and that they are indeed all right. It seems that their messages and signs bring such healing and release to those that they have left behind.

These stories will inspire you and lift you up if you are feeling blue. Sometimes we need gentle reminders from above, that we are loved and cherished and not forgotten, even though we ourselves may think so.

I love keeping Ms. Anderson's books near by and randomly opening them and reading passages after a long and particularly stressful day! I would also encourage anyone to check out Ms. Anderson's website, where one can subscribe to a true angel story of the week!

This book would be great comfort to anyone who has lost a loved one, as well as to those who are experiencing turmoil in their lives. The title of the book does indeed live up to its name and the miracles presented in this book are phenomenal!

Highly recommended!!

A Wonderful Book!
This is a truly wonderful book. It will leave you with love in your heart and tears in your eyes. A book everyone should read.

Wonderful Book!
Where Miracles Happen is a truly wonderful book. It will bring love to your heart and tears to your eyes. A definite must read for anyone who loves miracles books.

Stunning
I've read most of the other "space" books and this one is the best by far. Most of these books are written from the astronaut's point of view, and while this is an exciting and interesting view point, it's pretty clear that there are thousands of people working behind the scenes for each astronaut out doing his job (his - this is Apollo - all of them were men).

After reading "Apollo" I have a new understanding for the amount of effort and love that went into the creation of the Apollo program. The men and women who helped put a man on the moon are every bit the heroes as the 12 who stood on the surface (as well as the seven, the nine, etc.).

If you really want to understand how America put a man on the moon, this is the book to read. After you finish, go back and watch Tom Hanks' "From the Earth to the Moon."

THE Definitive book on the Apollo program...
This book is the true "diamond-in-the-rough". With so many re-issues of material from the manned space program and specifically Apollo, it's hard to imagine that this book isn't re-issued again and again! This book (along with Andrew Chaiken's Man on the Moon and Jim Lovell's Lost Moon) is by far the definitive account of the Apollo program. Not just a re-gurgitation of the Apollo history, this story is told from a Flight Controller/Engineering perspective and gives a truer picture of what the early and subsequent days of the program were like. Here, Apollo Program Manager Joe Shea comes alive and is portrayed as an heroic/brilliant manager, not the villian of the Apollo 1 fire as in other accounts. You're down in the "trench" in Mission Control for not only the Apollo 11 Moon landing, but also for the lesser known Apollo 6, the ill-fated second un-manned launch of the Saturn V. It may be hard to find this book, but the effort is well worth it...one of the top 5 books that I've ever read.

The best book ever written about Apollo
Murray and Cox wrote by far the single best book on Apollo. It covers the political decisions, the engineering, the people, and the history. The engineering is explained in a clear and non-condescending way that non-technical people can understand, and yet it's thorough enough to interest scientists and engineers as well. The detailed descriptions of the various technical and political debates, as well as the struggles between divisions of NASA and various contractors are well documented with many different sources consulted.

With the current resurgence of interest in Apollo and the reissue of a number of lesser books, it's a great pity this book has not been reissued.

Awakening Through the Tears: Interstitial Cystitis and the Mind/Body/Spirit Connection

Message of Hope
Catherine Simone has outdone herself in her third book, making it THE book to read, not only if you have IC, but any disease that requires strong fortitude and hope to overcome. The book is filled with personal examples of her own story as well as general suggestions for others to build upon and use in their own situations. Truly a story of love, courage, tenacity, and finally, WELLNESS. You won't regret purchasing this one.

Inspiring Thoughts for IC sufferers!!!
Indeed, as she states in her book, Catherine Simone, comes full circle with her third book. Her thoughts on the connection of mind/body/spirit are truly life altering. She has an incredible style of writing that you feel as though she has been a friend you've always known. It's as though she's talking to you personally, and sharing her most personal discoveries and allowing you to take from it what you need. If you have IC and you're fed up and/or feeling hopeless this book can provide a whole new insight to your struggles and provide you with the much needed encouragement to continue to be patient with yourself and your healing.

She does it again!!
Awakening through the Tears is Cath's 3rd book in the trilogy of IC books. This book takes dealing w/ IC to a deeper level. Anyone who has ever dealt w/ IC and IC-related symptoms has most likely asked the questions, "why me", "what did I do to deserve this", etc. If you're looking for the meaning of IC, this book really helps to understand how the mind, body and spirit are not only connected w/ IC, but w/ other illnesses, as well as any life events we are experiencing. This book helped me to understand my role and responsibility in both IC and in other areas of my life as well. Cath touches upon the spirituality aspect of recovery which many people do not have the courage enough to do. My views have certainly changed for the better since reading this book. I would recommend this book to all IC patients as well as anyone looking to find a deeper meaning as to why things happen in our lives. This is a wonderful compliment to the other books Cath has written and helps to come full circle w/ IC.

Like steamy love novels? No truer love than this!
All worries, troubles and life's problems pale in comparison to the Lord's suffering FOR US. And to think, He would endure it all over again for even ONE of His children. His love is beyond measure and beyond comprehension and this book brings the knowledge of what Jesus did into a horrific yet beautiful reality. Non-catholics and Catholics alike will be overwhelmed by this book.

Review from the Publisher
Faithful to the Bible story of the Passion and death of Jesus, it fills in many details and is edifying and inspiring beyond belief; plus, it is surpising and heartrendering. It will melt a heart of stone. This book is the best on the Passion we have seen. It is also wonderful on the Blessed Mother's role inour redemption. Includes a short biography of St. Emmerich. A great, great book for the whole family!

Focusing on Our Lord's Passion Will Get You to Heaven
Some Catholic Mystics (Saints) teach us that focusing on Jesus' Passion and Death will get you to heaven. This book walks you through our Lord's agony, step by step. After I read it, I was left with the picture of a Person who was literally skinned alive through scourging, and His Head was crowned with thorns and then The Body finally nailed to a cross, you get a little idea of what HE suffered "for us" physically. There were also mental and spiritual torments in addition to His physical sufferings. This book is for those who really want to grow spiritually and can face what He went through for us. The author was a nun who received only 2 months worth of visions depicting Christ's crucifixion and suffering. This book is well worth reading and contemplating.

This book can change your life!
I first read this 2 years ago. Since then, I have read many of her other books as well as one from Florence Scovell Shinn. I am not the same person I was then.

You can completely change your experience of life by reading this book. Your thoughts and words are a form of energy and can be used to create the life you want for yourself.

INSIGHTFUL & VALUABLE REFERENCE
The author shares the spiritual laws of healing and deals with the causes of emotional and physical problems. She shows one how to turn on the corrective thoughts in order to change the whole pattern of your life for the better. It is explained that everybody can use these ancient healing laws and there's nothing mysterious about them. In fact, healing constantly takes place in our lives in simple ways that seem miraculous. We all have the healing power, if we only realize it. The healing laws include: The "No" law, "Surprise" law, Law of Release, the "Yes" law, Praise law, Law of love, Miracle law, Occult law, Imaging law & the Mystical law. Countless examples of healing are provided to demonstrate these laws in action. A pleasure to read and a book that substantially expands one's consciousness. Should be on every healer' bookshelf.

Ponder teaches techniques that work!
I have read all of Catherine Ponder's books and cannot recommend them highly enough. She is the ONLY author in this genre who provides new insights and new techniques in each and every one of her books. (Other authors recycle the same idea in different clothing--not Ponder.) Her books are especially rich and useful because she provides both techniques that work and the knowledge that explains why they work and how and when to apply them.

A useful book on hypnotic scripts
The authors present a simplistic notion of therapy and hypnosis. Their talk of "mini-minds" reminded me of the movie Austin Powers. You won't find sophisticated theory here, but there is much of practical value. This book is definitely worth owning as a reference manual, but it is overpriced for what you get.

Inspiring Scripts
The book has a a variety of inductions, emerging scripts and scripts for dealing with assortment of situations a hypnotherapist may encounter in his practice. Most scripts contain metaphors which may work more effectively in one-on-one practice if they are adapted to the one's that may be more meaningful for the client.

Here's a sample script from this collection:

SWEET DREAMS SCRIPT
Tonight, perhaps tomorrow too,
your unconscious mind
can give you a dream,
a very special dream
that clarifies the problem
indicates the source perhaps,
but tells you quite clearly
how to solve that problem now.
And each night afterwards,
until you understand it,
until you decide to do it or not,
that dream can return to you
in one form or another.
And every day
as you go about your business,
your unconscious can find something,
some thought, perception, awareness,
a taste perhaps or a sensation,
or even a color,
that seems familiar
and reminds you of something,
reminds you fo what your unconscious mind
is trying to tell you,
until you fully understand
and use that understanding for you.

An immediate way to incorporate trance into therapy
I really began appreciating this book after attending an Ericksonian hypnotherapy workshop. The induction scripts are good examples of the different kinds of inductions and are usable as written. The metaphors (where the work gets done) are also very useful as is but as you get more experienced they make great bases for customized scripts. The chapter "on doing hypnotherapy" is one of the best introductions to the art I've seen. This is the one book I use regularly while doing therapy with clients.

Please write another book Catherine & Roy!!
I met Catherine and Roy at a dog show in Michigan during the early 90's. They were creating beautiful custom sweaters, scarves, etc. for the proud doggie owners. I spent more for my sweater with two views of my beautiful Champion Gordon Setter than I ever spent on a piece of clothing in my life! But it is also the most beautiful work of art I own.

I do cross stitch, and needle point, and have used many of their charts in my work. While looking for more charts on the internet, I found out that somewhere along the line Catherine has become a Henna artist, and I am assuming, no longer designs for the needle work audience. PLEASE come back Catherine and Roy!! We (the less talented) need your assistance!!

The book is WONDERFUL!! the charts are easy to follow, and are shown in color on scarves, sweaters, coats, and stockings.

If you are a needle work lover, and can only have one book... BUY THIS ONE!!!!

Why is this out of print?????
I bought the book, not because I had much interested in knitting, but because the illustrations--a collie lamenting that the beaded border on her sweater made it longer every time she wore it--were so much fun.

Then one day I needed a show quilt. So I took the "little dragon" intended to be knit three times around a watch cap and made it into a seven-foot long monster. It was accepted into a juried show.

I sent a slide to the authors, Roy wrote back that that was the kind of thing they hoped would happen with their book.

Great for crocheters too!
I don't knit at all, but I bought this book because the two-color charts are perfect for filet crochet. I've made several of the cat designs and they're really gorgeous! If you're into filet crochet, this is a wonderful book, although it purports to be for machine knitters.
