I checked this out of the new books section at our local library, and my 3-year-old really likes it. He is a child that loves the familiar and seems to empathize with both the grandfather's desire to go back to the country and Harry's desire to go back home to his mom in the city. The illustrations are really fabulous -- detailed, but with great whimsy, and a really extraordinary use of color. We had never read anything before by the Anholts, and Harry's Home led us to check out another five or so yesterday. Both my 2-year-old and 3-year-old loved Billy and the New School, one of the Anholts' previous books. Harry's Home is a great discovery. I recommend it.

This is a charming book with a clever story and appealing illustrations. The moral is that new things grow on you, as did this book. After checking it out several times at the library, we decided we must have it. Bravo.

From the moment Hawk and Kayln meet there was great tension. The kind of tension that is so thick you can cut it with a knife. Kayln is a strong, beautiful, independent woman, and Hawk is a strong, handsome, independent man. They both want each other but neither one wants to bend, so you know there is going to be conflict galore in this book. When they get together it's electrifying. When they are in the same room it's electrifying. When they kiss it's electrifying. And yes when they make love it is ELECTRYFING. These characters are well written and fully 3 dimensional. The ending is wonderful, but I didn't want it to end. I absolutely loved this book. Hawk has another brother (not Celia's sweetheart) and sister that was introduced in this book, so I'm hoping for sequels. If she can write another book this wonderful, then I welcome any and all sequels.

I believe this is Catherine Archibald's first books, and she did a wonderful job with it. The story is rich with characters, love, history, humor, and tension. This book is a keeper!

The Hiking Guide to Kansas is a high-quality guide to hiking trails in Kansas. There is no stone unturned. If you are going to be hiking in Kansas, you better bring this book with you! It is THE hiking guide for Kansas throughout the entire world!

I have always loved hiking in Kansas, but there has never been a really good book with the extensive detail that "Hiking Guide to Kansas" gives. The maps Young makes are very accurate, and the trail descriptions by Kate Hauber are excelent. I fully recommend this book to anyone who loves the outdoors in Kansas and wants an outstanding guide book.

An excellent introductory text for students of Hindi language, particularly written for English speaking students. It contains the most commonly used verbs and nouns with their genders along with basic strokes for writing Hindi letters.

One of the biggest plusses of this book are the instructions on how to form the syllables of the devanagari alphabet. All other books might show you how to read the syllabary, but this is the only one that I have encountered that shows one exactly how to form the letters. The grammar lessons expnad upon those in Dr. Khareji's previous book and provide a wealth of information for anyone learning Hindi. Since this book was intended specifically for native English-speakers, the approach that she takes is particularly effective. Makes a great supporting grammar text for any Hindi textbook.

This is a wonderful book of devotions for mothers

Catherine Duerr captures the essense of God's love for us by relating that love to life with her two young children. She shares the "silly" things the kids do, then points out that we all can seem just as "silly" in God's eyes. Still His love for us is perfect, and that perfect love is shared and illustrated throughout this beautiful book. A must read for all mothers

Home Food is a delightful way to get to know some of America's star chefs! In addition to delicious and easy to prepare recipes, the book has photos and in-depth chef interviews. It is fun to learn about the different paths which led them into the world of cuisine. Be forewarned, you will find yourself wanting some of these chef's cookbooks. Like today, I could not resist "Lidia's Italian Table" and Todd English's "Figs Table".

I've tried most of the recipes in this book and not one has been bad! It's a beautifully laid out book with interesting stories from some of America's greatest chefs. The recipes encourage me to test my skills, while still being recognizable to execute.
