Great Story, Beautiful Illustrations
If you are looking for a gift book that someone will remember, this is it. This is the kind of book that imparts information in a clever and entertaining way. Readers learn about mail delivery to the Great Lakes freighters, while enjoying the heartwarming story of a little girl sending her Dad a birthday card while he is working on the freighters. The illustrations are beautiful, and really add to the story. This book should be in every school's library.

Wonderful Book
This is a beautiful book, it is well written and extremely accurate. The book tells a story about a young girl who wants to send her father a birthday card. Her father works as a sailor aboard a Great Lakes freighter and she is happy to learn that a boat in Detroit, Michigan delivers U.S. Mail to all ships passing Detroit. She sends his card and he receives it a few days later when his ship passes Detroit. The illustrations are also wonderfully done and very accurate. What I liked best about the story is that it is educational and emphasizes a strong family bond. I rated this book five stars and have bought several copies as Christmas presents and have donated a copy to my daughters school library.

Spell-binding Swashbuckler Romance
I admit it. I don't read a lot of romance novels and the ones I have read seem smarmy. I picked up this one because during my college days some "friends" played a practical joke on me with a mail order bride. I was pleasantly surprised by Donovan's skill in developing characters you care about and moving the plot in an engaging way from start to satisfying finish. The hero and heroine are not cardboard characters and the reader is carried along by their personal motivation and steamy passion. The supporting cast is superbly filled out as well. Dialogue is crisply written and believable, and the author seems to have researched her historical period well. Romance writing like this deserves to be placed in another category of literature several steps above the average paperback novel. Mail Order Bride reads as smoothly and stimulating as burgandy silk and you will wind up hoping that Donovan will write a sequel.

Award winning novel
This is by far the best book I have read. Camille, the heroine is strong and you feel yourself with her in everything she does, from fighting of drunken sailors to charming and romancing Seth Braden. Seth, however , you can picture him in your mind as if he is standing before you. This is the first Sandra Donavon book I have read, I regret to say, but I plan on reading the other four right away. GREAT WRITING! I COULDN'T PUT IT DOWN!

Just In Time for a Disaster Recovery
As a recent fan of the O'Reilly Nutshell series, this one caught my eye as I prepared for my final MCSE test: Exchange. This book is really not for beginners, but is great for those who have some Exchange administration experience and want to learn more detail about the product, everything from the history and development to the "secret" command line utilities. As luck would have it, a few days after I bought the book I had to do a disaster recovery of my Exchange server. Tulloch's concise recovery procedures helped save the day!

I wish I had this book a long time ago . . .
As a fan of O'Reilly's "Windows NT in a Nutshell," I've been waiting for this book. Like the other Nutshell manuals, it encapsulates lots of hard-to-find information in one place. If you're looking for a step-by-step guide to implementing Exchange Server, however, you might want a different book (I strongly recommend Tony Redmond's text); this book is best suited for administrators who need a quick reference. However, anyone who wants to learn more about how Exchange Server operates will benefit from reading this book.

This book is a great reference.
I must say that I was hesitant about getting this book. I have used different versions of Outlook for years and felt that I would not benefit from it, but I was absolutely wrong. There are features in Outlook that I had no idea about. I regret buying Act 6.0 for my contact manager now because of what I've learned about Outlook through reading this book. I'm sure there are many of you out there that feel that you have a good knowledge of Outlook - but most of you still have yet to tap into it's wonders. Outlook 2002 for Dummies is written in standard "Dummies" form and is really easy to understand, yet not too boring for tech types either! It's a good investment.

A knockout! You MUST get this book!
Over 100 million people use Microsoft Outlook and most people only use about 2 percent of its power. This book is a blast to read and it contains tips and tricks that have saved me huge amounts of time and effort.

Even if I didn't use Outlook I'd enjoy reading this book.

Thank You!!!!
This book is such a blessing to us power users looking for starting or jumping off point into useful programming.

As a former 5 yr sales rep for end user trainng manuals now turned sales engineer, I never had the patience for all those beginning programming books building "birdhouses" and "hello world." Thank you for giving us wannabe programmers a purposeful, immediate and relevant starting point!

High and Low Level Views
An excellent high and low level view of programming Outlook 2000/XP. For an experienced programmer, the majority of the chapters get right into the code/objects/events/models you'll need. The code examples are not "toys", but (fortunately) are brief enough to focus on the subject being discussed.
Novice and experienced programmers will appreciate the overview of the VBA environment/language within Outlook.
Reading this book answered specific questions I needed answered about customization, and erased that "where do I start" feeling I had about programming in Outlook. Great book!

Outstanding!
Wow! This series has really improved since the 2000 version . . . and it is in color! (This series is for the version 2002 programs, which are part of Office XP - which replaces the Office 2000 programs.) I wasn't really planning to buy any of these books this time around until I looked a little more closely at them. They are very nice! So I bought them all!

Basically, the Microsoft Press Step by Step series is geared to teach a beginner how to use each application program in step by step lessons. Even though they start from the beginning, these books are also great for intermediate and advanced users. More advanced users can also go to the Microsoft Press "Inside Out" Series, which is more of a comprehensive reference (the Inside Out Series replaces the "Running" Series).

This book has several nice features: steps are clearly numbered; figures and screen images are in color; there is a comprehensive quick reference, glossary, and index; and a cd is included for additional study. One of the nicest new features is a section that lists all of the Microsoft Office User Specialist (MOUS) objectives, and shows the page numbers in the book where the objectives are taught - this is a great help in preparation for the MOUS certification exams.

This book contains 13 chapters: Working with E-Mail; Managing E-mail Messages; Customizing and Organizing E-Mail Messages; Managing Your Calendar; Scheduling and Managing Meetings; Creating and Organizing a List of Contacts; Creating and Organizing Tasks; Creating and Organizing Notes; Using the Journal; Using Outlook with Other Programs; Sharing Information and Working Offline; Sending Newsgroup and Instant Messages; and Configuring and Customizing Outlook.

I also recommend Microsoft Office XP Introductory Concepts and Techniques; Microsoft Office XP Advanced Concepts and Techniques; and Microsoft Office XP Post Advanced Concepts and Techniques by Gary B. Shelly, et al.

Well researched, well written book from the messaging expert
Sue continues to amaze us with her knowledge and techincal depth. All I can say is "keep 'em coming, Sue!"

Provides insights on Outlook missing in Microsoft Press bks.
One of the most interesting and useful features
about Outlook is the use of "categories" to help
coordinate information exchange among multiple
users of Outlook. Of the thirteen books I read
through about this aspect of Outlook, Mosher's
book was the only one that fully informs you
about how these categories travel in outgoing
and incoming messages

A Usable and Great Reference
This is a great broad reference into all aspects of direct mail advertising. I have had great success in direct mail advertising for years, and when I came across this book it was very refreshing to see a text that covered many of the successful points and techniques I was already applying. The wonderful thing is I learned a whole basket of new ideas I had never even thought of by reading this book. Bly creates a very informative text here which covers many facets of direct mail advertising. A truly valuable resource for anyone in business. It will unlock a lot of doors for you, and help you easily achieve results when you venture into direct mail advertising. Definitely a good investment.

Great resource for newcomers and veterans alike
Although I've been working in direct mail for nearly seven years, I got some great ideas from this book. But it will also provide an excellent overview of direct mail for anyone who's new to the field. This book covers everything you'll need to know: planning your campaign, choosing your offer(s), renting mailing lists, copywriting, design, testing and more. Even if you've never done a single direct mailing, this book--loaded with practical tips and proven advice--will help you hit the ground running.

If your objective is lead generation, I would also recommend another Bob Bly book--The Lead Generation Handbook. There's a fair amount of overlap between the two books, though, so if you only need to know about direct mail as it pertains to lead generation, definitely go with The Lead Generation Handbook.

Prams Mail Carts and Bassinets by Jack Hampshire
This is a fabulous book with wonderful pictures. I was lucky enough to purchase a copy that is in mint condition. The book has complete information on prams their origin and where they are today. Perfect book for any Vintage English Pram collector!!!

The one and only complete guide for a collector of Prams
I'm a serious collector of historical prams. I've got only a photocopy of the original book but I can say it is a beauty. It describes all about prams from the very beginning(mid 1800) untill the 1960's. Lots of pictures are shown to give you an complete impression of somebody's first 'car'. I hope that it will be repress in the future or to get an original copy of it.
